This is going to be to the point because I’ve spent all day turning this over in my head… 

So, I was informed by a party who shall remain anonymous that they’d been charged when they should not have been done.  Cue panic mode and grovelling apologies on my part and a journal entry (that I'm later going to scrap): 

It took me until lunchtime and partway through swimming to realise that there’s been a misunderstanding.  The onus is on me naturally because I didn’t word things properly when I posted up my decision in December… Or not illustrate them as I usually do whenever I’m about to take a hiatus. So, to put this to bed: 

That's what I meant by it. I have heard it said that I may have it backwards, and people join with the expectation that they’re paying in advance for new content throughout the month. 

But to me, it comes off as a bit odd, ala: 

I don’t know.  Maybe I’m reflecting upon the older Patreon of the 2010s, and stuff has changed now with the anniversary subscription billing... 🙄 but I’ll spare you from a long ramble.  This is the method that works for me and I've not had any major pushback before. BUT that means you won’t be charged come February, as illustrated above, but also reaffirmed here:
