I can’t pretend I know the nomenclature origins of Yaru de Pon, but to me, it reads like a pun, as partially explained above.  Pon to me comes across like ぽんぽこ ponpoko, the onomatopoeia for drumming, but it can be used to describe a full stomach.  Hence the movie, Pompoko. If you’ve not seen it… you’re in for something… unusual.

Ah well.  This will be the last one I draw in relation to that game.  Sorrrryyyyy~.
