Harley Quinn asks Poison Ivy for some help honing her clown skills!
Remastering details (please bear with us, it's a lot):
Remastered in UHD.
Numerous splotch, line overrun & noise cleanup.
The original background was a vast empty room with a few unimpressive plants. We ditched that in favor of a new garden for Ivy teeming with wildness and personality.
A consequence of the UHD presentation revealed significant banding (wavy lines) present in the flesh coloring of the characters. This coloring has been redone, with those areas now benefiting from proper blending.
Related to the coloring changes: Highlights, such as those in Ivy's hair, have been corrected and desaturated. Contrast has been enhanced for the entire page.
Poison Ivy was meant to be light green colored, similar to the New Adventures of Batman & Robin design. Yet the original art was decidedly yellowish green. The first remastering plan was to shift Ivy's skin tone back to the pale light green from the show, but the reality was that this Ivy art was closer in appearance to the first season of the Batman Animated series. Even though we now had the "correct" coloring intended, it was still mismatched with the character design. The team felt unhappy with the results and, since a complete redraw of Ivy was not feasible as it would delay new projects, the decision was made to drastically overhaul Ivy's coloring to resemble her early "less planty" appearance. We've also elected not to include the green "fixed" remaster as we rejected it. Apologies for those who prefer green-skinned Ivy. You'll still have that option with the original art.
Wetness related to the oral action has been properly added.
Dialog balloons are larger and easier to read.
Last, but certainly not least, the layout has been reimagined for landscape presentation on modern viewing devices.
The original editions are also included in the attached archive for comparison so that viewers can see all of these improvements.
Patrons who have read this far, thank you for taking the time to understand the enormity of the challenge the team is facing. In order to achieve our goals of updating every Tales from the H-Side page to modern viewing standards, it involves essentially rebuilding each comic page based on the best surviving art elements. That's why remasters will be every other week, at least during this early period where comic pages are at the roughest. The investment will be worth it though, we promise! Thanks for your continued support at a time we're doing our utmost to get more comic content to the patrons! 💛
