Comic #945: Instant Queue (Patreon)

This is another one that changed quite a bit during the process. This was also a rare occasion where I think adding additional dialogue improved the final product.

Originally it was Krom and Narya. The first three panels were the same, but the fourth and fifth panels had no dialogue. The fourth had Narya joining the queue, and the final panel was just them staring at the dungeon queue with a higher time.

I felt like this early version of the comic was too loose to interpretation. People wouldn't be sure what my point was, or what the joke was supposed to be. I really wanted to include something to do with the mathematics of the timer and how it didn't seem to follow logic so I brainstormed on how to include that. I also wanted to keep the premise of the comic, I really liked the idea of Krom thinking he had an instant queue but instead had a lengthy one.

The reason I swapped out Narya for Nyte in the end was because of the math dialogue. I feel like Narya has had too many mathy comics in the past that he for sure would have some answer to how the math works. In fact, part of me thought about making the comic another math problem for Narya, but maybe next time.
