Comic #963: Friend or Foe (Patreon)

I actually had a completely different comic idea until yesterday. This idea came to me and I wrote it quickly instead. I still like the other idea, but it still felt like it needed some work. I'll probably use it for the next one, and hopefully some time will give me fresher eyes for it.

This one manifested pretty quickly once the idea came to me. The only challenge I had was coming up with dialogue choices for the first panel. I needed the dialogue to work when said in anger and in laughter. I was hoping to come up with some more choices that had vastly different meanings between the first and final panel, but in the end, the best one I could think of was Miji's "Let's kick him".

I initially considered using Krom, but I feel like he's way too miserable to ever find joy in a group member dying, so I used Nyte instead.

This one is very similar thematically to #925, namely the first and final panels having the same dialogue and it involves enjoying the same content with friends over non-friends.
