Comic #167: Piggyback (Patreon)

We're clearly deep into the expansion now if I was doing comics about specific Wrath quests. Once again, I'm glad that classic servers exist, because otherwise a lot of these older comics would become impossibly obscure. This is one of the earliest examples I can remember of a quest where you could mount a creature as a vehicle. Were there any examples of this in Burning Crusade?

Let me tell you, in preparation for this commentary it took me a WHILE to figure out the name of this quest. I remember this was a real quest, but given that I haven't done it in nearly 20 years, I have no memory of any of the quest's details. Not the giant's name, nor even the zone he was in. On top of that, no Google search was helping me to figure out what the hell the quest was. I finally managed to narrowing the zone down to Zul'Drak and was able to find it.

It's funny that I clearly placed Keydar's speech bubble all the way over to the left of the first panel to obscure the punchline, but I didn't think to actually extend the pointer of the speech bubble so it actually pointed at Keydar. I also could have placed Keydar at the center, and just had the back of his head to the viewer, but that would have required me to draw Keydar from a different angle than normal, and I had already drawn an entire ghoul and a giant, so I probably decided against it.
