Comic #991: Stay Awhile and Listen (Patreon)

This one is a bit of a follow-up on #983. I originally planned on using Arator again, but when I began to draw, Arator’s ponytail was so annoying I decided to use Turalyon instead.

I know I did another AFK related comic a couple weeks ago, but it was intentional. I haven’t fully decided yet, but I was thinking about having an arc involving fed-up NPCs taking advantage of AFK players. I still have to work it out and see if it’s worth doing. I want to have an arc that ends at #1000, but I haven't fully settled on an idea yet. It's a pretty big milestone, so I'm probably overthinking it. I also considered continuing the previous comic's premise of wearing multiple rings. Why not stack your hats? Multiple pants, etc. Not sure where to go with that, but it was one idea. If you all have any ideas or thoughts on that front of what you would like to see, let me know.

Obviously NPCs hating players has been a theme in my comics, but the last panel’s dialogue especially has become a bit of a running joke at this point. I first used the same general dialogue from an NPC to a player in #597. I think I’ve used similar dialogue elsewhere but I can’t specifically remember where and when. If one of you readers can find it, let me know in the comments. I’m not sure what I like about it so much. I think something about the NPC dropping character and just communicating their disdain in plain language.

Also, the quest name in the first panel is a Blackadder reference.
