Comic #189: Evade (Patreon)

Man I forgot about this one, I really like it! Especially because it's still relevant! I feel like I could make this one today and it would still totally work. I don't know that I'd even change that much as far as the panels go.

I should have brought back evade speed in later comics. Especially during the various NPC rebellion arcs. Imagine how strong those NPCs would be with evade speed going all the time.

What's interesting is I went into the original comic file and found the following unused sketches:

I have no idea what I was planning originally. But clearly it involved a male and female kobold and Donald. I have zero memory. Man I wish I kept notes back then. I didn't start even making scripts for my comic until 2014 or so, so when we get to that point I'll have more insight probably.

In the previous comic I put a black border on my speech bubbles to make them more visible. Clearly that method didn't stick. However it does make another weird brief appearance in #191. Looks like I couldn't make up my mind about it.
