You guys know how much I shit on my work constantly, but oh man, this is one of my personal all time favorites.

This mechanic as far as I know is no longer in the game, gnome players can correct me if I'm wrong. Vertically challenged races used to have to swim in shallow water, while taller races could just run through it. This was especially challenging in the Black Morass instance, which was covered in shallow water and required you to run from spawn point to spawn point, leaving Gnomes especially slow.

What really makes this comic for me is the final panel. This was early on, so I really had a hard time trying to draw more complex things like a character being under water. I wanted to make sure people could tell exactly what was going on immediately. His expression, his open mouth with bubbles coming out, the floating empty vial. I love it.

I call back to this comic later in the final panel of #100.

This is one of my favorites as well—I have happy memories of my poor little gnome splashing through this instance with her friends, and that made this all the funnier for me.

I finally GOT this joke after doing Timewalking with my Gnome Rogue. That is one bitch of a scenario to get thru... especially when nobody doing the run actually knows WTF is going on.

Not only small races had to swim in shallow waters, you also automatically dismounted when you hit the water, so there were no way around it. I loved this dungeon. Timetravel is a shitty storytelling technique, but in this case, it was nice kinda participate on key events in the WoW universe.

WOW! I remember reading this comic back on the day it was released! I was a Gnome, so I remember exactly how hard Black Morass was!

This was the comic that introduced me to your work! Still good!

They're having an awfully easy time for having no tank and no mage.
