Comic #94: Netherwing (Patreon)

Oh lord, I forgot about the Netherwing rep grind. It probably didn't take as long as I remember to get the Nether Drake mount, but it felt like an eternity. The irony is that I don't think I've mounted my Nether drake in at least 12 years. Next time I log on maybe I will out of guilt.

At the time I made this comic, there was no mount collection in the game yet. When you got a new mount it was an item that sat in your inventory. So old mounts inevitably went into your bank. Now they sit amongst a list of hundreds of other mounts hoping desperately to be used.

Each mount in the final image was a mount I had used. The one hanging is the Black Stallion, which at the time was a slow ground mount, and I believe the first mount I ever owned. The other horse is i believe a Swift Brown Steed, which I think was my second mount. The bug is of course the Red Qiraji Battle Tank which was the rarer bug drop from the AQ raid, and could only be used in that instance. The gryphon is a Swift Purple Gryphon which was my primary mount in TBC until I got the Nether Drake, hence the sadness by the bars.
