Man, it must have taken me ages to draw that moonkin. 

So back when talent trees existed, there were some trees within a class that didn't ever feel like they were really meant to be used exclusively. It was almost as if they were meant to be more of a secondary flavor for a main spec. One of those specs was the balance druid, another that I recall was the ret paladin. Those two specs were pretty under-tuned for the most part, and the butt of many jokes. Hence this comic.

The other joke being that Rend blackhand from Upper Blackrock Spire had become completely obsolete with the coming of the new expansion. 15 years later, I don't think he even exists anymore outside of classic. He faded out of existence, how sad.

I continued to use this style of final panel for quite a while (black background with a white outline). I would like to say I made the choice for stylistic purposes, but the reality is that I didn't want to have to draw a new background. It was far easier to just draw the table top and not have to bother with walls or floor.
