Comic #769: Mad Cheddar (Patreon)

I had one more in me for this minor storyline. I'm pretty sure this is the last one, but who knows.

"Sharp Cheddar Sword" was one of my choices for puns in the final panel of the previous comic. I ended up choosing the Gouda Helm for that comic, and left the Sharp Cheddar joke for this one. Another choice I had was a mace called "The Munster Basher".

I wasn't entirely sure people would get that the final panel is full of repair vendors. At first I put their names above their heads, but I felt it took away from the joke. The text was also very cluttered, and it was hard enough just trying to position the silhouette, the NPCs, the counter, the dialogue, and the background. In the end I decided to have a couple of them have repair hammers out, and I made sure to include a few familiar faces.

I also wanted to make sure that people could read any of the comics in this minor story arc and understand the premise and the joke. This is why I included a tooltip in the first panel even though its unnecessary if you've read the previous comic. It is also why Krom's dialogue in the first panel, and the dialogue in the 4th panel are so expositive.

Edit: I just last-minute changed the title of the comic. It was originally called "Tough Cheddar", and I suddenly realized last weeks comic was "Tough Cheese". These titles were way too similar, so I went with "Mad Cheddar", which is actually better in my opinion.
