Comic #793: Bolvar's Plan (Patreon)

This was another quest idea that sat in my idea queue for months. The quest that spawned the idea was this Ardenweald campaign quest. I remember accepting the quest and then running over to check my mission table while they talked.

I put a bunch of easter eggs into this one.

In the first panel quest text, Anduin is referred to as a "town-dwelling" king. This is a reference to the recent PTR notes, in which the words "damsels" were replaced with town dwellers, since Anduin is a bit of a damsel in distress right now. There's also a Blackadder reference in "I have a cunning plan".

In the second panel quest text I included a bit of a meta joke spawned from some comments I received after the last time Bolvar was featured in #702. After that comic, a few readers informed me that Bolvar is not in-fact shirtless, but has armor fused to his body.

The third panel is a reference to the famous Bolvar loading screen pose.

5th panel has a few jokes within the mailbox. Most of them are pretty obvious, like the postmaster grey item, the brew of the month, and the letter from Donald. The 4th one is an expired auction of Orboreal Shards. These are NPC purchased crafting reagents. The joke being that Keydar bought them off a vendor and sells them at a markup on the AH.

The final panel is a slight reference to the TV show Parks and Recreation. You can probably find the reference by searching for "MONEY PLEASE" on youtube.
