Comic #882: Directions (Patreon)

I always liked the idea of this premise, involving the city guard direction interface. I just couldn't think of a punchline for it.

The comic had always started with someone asking a guard for directions. Originally I had thought of having Gigz asking for directions, and then trying to beat up the guard after being insulted somehow. Eventually I thought of the idea of having the guard be one of the characters in disguise.

I initially had some extra panels at the beginning showing Nyte signing up for the Stormwind guard. In the end I thought it would be funnier if you didn't know it was her.

The poster in the final panel is a callback to the poster I used in #641. I thought it would be funny to update Anduin into his current traumatized version.

I was about to save the final comic image when I realized I had put zero gags into the direction list in the second panel. Seemed like a wasted opportunity, so I added a couple.
