Hey all,

I know it's taken forever but here it is.

This update will mostly just center itself around the beach day and will give us the second 1/3 of the revamped Chapter 8. Ton of work here and by far the most ambitious update we've seen yet. I was worried about this one but it's apparently turned out to be one of the best received ever.

Woop woop! 🙌 One feedback is that the black beam where the text is is too big. I do not see any feature to hide it or make it smaller and I takes up 1/3 of the screen making it difficult to see the artwork behind which is a shame

Never made a comment like this before but here we are. I've just reached the respect vs pervy route and honestly something about it has just jarred me so heavily. Lowkey made me hella uncomfortable. Like I'd understand if it was a different type of game but you've spent 4 chapters showing the story is about trust and mutual respect and I fucking LOVE Braden. He's so earnest and kind and just allround so sweet. And you've made them have this sweet heartwarming relationship just to give Zack the option to destroy everything. It's honestly so out of character. And given how Zack KNOWS Braden is self conscious and is just now opening upto him why on earth would he do that. I'd rather Braden slowly question his sexuality or something or realise he's not as into women as he thought. That's where I thought the story of his last relationship was going not gonna lie. But honestly the writing has actually been so good up to this moment, to the point where I've been invested in the characters aside from the sexual aspect. You could make this a no nudity or sexual content love story and I would STILL play it because of how good the characters and storytelling is. But yeah, invading Braden's privacy and doing that kinda threw me off so bad. And the fucking music bro 😭 it's like the dramatic finale of a police crime show where they're closing in on the final villain. Just my two cents. I know I'm not a paying member or anything but this is my honest earnest feedback. Amazing game aside from this one thing though. The twist of Zack not actually being openly gay was so good.

heya. i always appreciate comments and especially appreciate them from the quieter folks so thanks . Sooo... this is a tough one to comment on because you're still soooo early in the story but I can try and tiptoe around things because there's actually a massive point to that scene. Yes, the scene does sorta come out of nowhere but it also comes out of nowhere within the genre of the game you're playing (like you noted). however, i did take extra time to make that scene uncomfortable if people chose it. one thing that i believe about this type of storytelling is that the NSFW genre is way more open to content so you can do more things with a story from a storytelling perspective because there's less restrictions. so i really like to treat everything equally without much censorship. this game isn't overtly porny so for those people that really wanted to sorta force the porny aspect-- i purposely made it uncomfortable for them. But i'll also draw your attention to the line in the story that says "the part when some unseen force sorta took over me" because it was a player choice. the player forced that decision since there are multiple ways that zack sorta fights back against that during that scene. i'll also note that this route does play out differently and there's actually a massive reason for that scene later but we really wont see the part play out to its conclusion until chapter 9. but yeah, honestly, i'm with you. your reaction is valid there and i'm kinda glad it made you feel uncomfortable because that was the point and there actually is a plot reason for it that's probably not what you're expecting at all. but if you made it this far, i promise it gets better. you're not even to the good chapters yet. chapter 6 is the first of many times where the story gets flipped upside down again. if you liked the early twist of zack not being openly gay you're probably gonna get sucked into chapter 6 onwards pretty good :)

you've got no idea how much this reassured me. i was worried you suddenly realised there was a lack of nsfw content and tried to get it in by taking a detour from the story. but in hindsight, anyone who wanted a full on porn game definitely would've dropped the game alot earlier. choosing the respect route was so rewarding in comparison, especially since braden and zack bond over the card game and braden opens up to zack by his own choice (where im at currently.) now you've clarified that its not just a random thing i can definitely see how you will be able to play around with motifs of guilt and betrayal in the perv route. honestly hearing that music and seeing what zack does kinda shattered my world for a sec so best believe i loaded back my save and stuck to the respect route. when i finish the game i might replay it going down the perv route to see where you take it, especially since you mention the stories go vastly different. honestly the fact that the perv route disturbed me so much that i wrote a whole mini essay goes to show you how amazing your story is and how the writing impacts the player. i think that im more emotionally invested in this game than alot of major tv shows. if i was in a better financial situation i would definitely contribute. thanks for the amazing game and thanks for ur comforting comment ❤️‍🩹 looking forward to the rest of it.

haha. nah, i appreciate your apprehension there. i actually stepped that scene up a lot from the original and it's way more uncomfortable now and it works a lot better. the music just added to it being sketch. but some people wanted to play games like that and i decided that it would be fun to take something crazy like that from the NSFW community and then try and flip it back into a working plot point. it was kind of a challenge and honestly, i'm happy how it turns out later in the story. that being said, if you ever replay, you dont have to play the full game again. the entire story is written pretty linear up to that choice point then it splits for that scene and then the rest of the story will appear linear but it's because the base story was written generically so that with only a few word changes in some parts of the story, i could change the entire meaning of the scenes based on your choice back then. In reality, all you'd have to do is load up chapter 9 (when we get there) and just choose the pervy route and play chapter 9. Chapter 9 will have a specifc split in the middle of it for the routes and then the routes will merge again at the end. but no, i promise i didn't lose my mind and just wanna go full nsfw. i've actually never done that in the story. all the nsfw content in the story is actually plot-driven to me. the bulk of the early game nudity is just character development and it's an easy way to measure how comfortable the characters are with each other. them stripping off clothes is sorta metaphorical to them showing more of who they are. so the "nakedness" is almost metaphorical in this sense. there are some goofy scenes where there's nudity and stuff but to me, that's just guys fucking around and it's more locker room humor stuff. the strip poker scene is an early example of this where normally in a nsfw game you'd see strip poker used just to see naked characters. here, it basically symbolized fate. poker has rules and if they both agree to play the rules then it's not weird when one of them has to do something or take something off. it's a way for them to grow closer and move towards a direction that neither would have ever had the courage to do alone-- so the game does it for them. in this vein neither gets embarrassed at getting shot down because if something weird happens-- well, you can always fall back and blame the game. you'll contine to see things like this-- i guess i'll call them "porny stereotypes"-- situations you'd commonly see in some stupid porn game or porn situation but they're flipped here as a story point. sooo... yeah... basically i take a ton of porny stereotypes (that you'll slowly learn throughout the story is me confronting the inaccuracies of porn to normalize and empower the average person) and flip them into existential teaching points. and i do it with shirtless guys to help you remember :p

So far, this is the best thing I’ve tried. I really love the characters and their development. I finished the first version, and now I’ve reached the beach day in the updated one. I know you have a lot of followers who prefer the platonic route. But please—let them finish what they started but didn't complete in the finale. And hey, bro... Believe me, a lot of people would be happy if you made a second year of college. I know I’m asking a lot... but... your creation makes me a better person. I... I think I’m rethinking a lot of things.
