Hey all,

So I said I'd drop another note to confirm the release date when I got my head wrapped around things better. I meant to do it yesterday but ...

well... yesterday was a bad day.

Long story short: I was in the middle of rereads and editing when the power went out. It was out the entire day so I got zero progress done. So I came back later that evening when the power came back on and found my entire game code corrupted. Apparently the surge deleted my code back to the coffee shop scene in chapter 8 (so basically the last year and a half of the game was gone). Everything after that was just dots.

So I was upset, walked away, and yelled terrible things.

Jordyn came to the rescue and helped me out later that night. Good news is, he was able to find a backup and got things working again and I think I only lost 2 minutes of data. The downside was that Jordyn was supposed to be doing CG edits so we wasted a lot of time restoring the code when we should have been focusing on finalizing pics.

However, in talking with him today, he still feels like he's on schedule. He wants to get the final CGs to me sometime this week (most likely Wednesday or Thursday). If that goes according to plan, I'd have a final Dev copy out to send over to Blayke to look at while I continue to go through things over here.

I'm spending today going through the story again to try and reread, edit, and polish stuff (everything I was gonna do yesterday) and see how far I get. If that goes well, I'm hoping to drop the release on like Friday or Saturday but we'll see. I'll post out more info on the Discord or Twitter for quick updates.

I do plan to do one more post just prior to the release to remind people of the downloads and etiquette with those downloads as well as remind people not to use old save files since we have a lot of new faces around here.

Stay tuned.

Aaryn, not sure which editor you're using for the scripts but I had this happen to me once when I was using Atom (apparently it was a known issue they then claimed to have "resolved" ) . I switched to Sublime and (so far) no issues. Glad you got it sorted out.

"So I was upset, walked away, and yelled terrible things." Actually, I suspect they were highly appropriate things. ... Except for your neighbours. Your neighbours are now quaking in fear in their safe room (or bathroom, let's be honest here) and may never leave their house again. And they thought you were such a nice boy...!

Ouch! Been there. I'm so glad you were able to find most of your work. Please get a solid backup system or versioning system. When I used to code, I quickly learned just how valuable they are for protecting work. A backup battery for your computer is another option just so you'd have time to save files and properly shutdown.

I had similar time when my life just fuck me....not long time ago. I believe it's hard....shit happens

Glad you got it back, we've all had that happen. Hugs!

Wow bro. With the wanting to deliver and all the work you and Jordyn put into the project, I would've gone outside and kicked a rock while yelling horrible things. That sounds like a terrible potential anxiety startup, aka shitstorm. I'm relieved that it was not as big as a fluke as you originally thought. Ya still got us Aaryn, the peeps.

You always do an amazing job. Sometimes there are setbacks. But in order to give us such a high quality and detailed project that draws us in so deep- You can always take the time you need! As much as I would like a regular update on many of these projects- RL and unavoidable issues always come up. Thank you all for the great work. Much appreciated!

Ugh days like that are rough! I got a bottle of Jack over here, if ya need a drink! Will drink if for you too if it helps =) IN all seriousness its good you have some one who knows a thing or two that was willing to help out when the stress you must have been feeling probably pushed you out of your "able to think straight (wish i could make that red lol) zone." My thanks to both you and Jordyn. Maybe I should mail you both a bottle ;p

Oh, that's brutal. Do you use anything like GitHub?
