I don’t care what you use,Geoff. Your singing and videos are awesome.

Debs Badger

That was fascinating! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Gillian Drysdale

we always trust you Geoff we know how much talent you have ❤️

Eileen Parkman

Right! You have to be a good singer for auto tune, etc to sound natural. You have to be singing properly for the tool to work well. And we’ve all heard you sing live so BOO! to the complainers.

Amanda Hovendon

Ignore people please lol. Keep doing what you need to do cause it’ll still be marvelous ❤️

Sarah Borzelli

Awww WE know you're not only a good but an outstanding singer...but yeah thanks for clarifying, so we can point the awful/jealous commenters to the truth! Also I see you are mindblowingly accurate!

Heather Blakeley

Thanks for the insight Geoff. It's cool to see how little adjustment your natural voice needs. Can't wait for this to be finished and releases!

Tracy K

Wow, no wonder it always sounds so good with that amount of detail going into it!

Maria Moore

You are amazing ignore the haters

Talbot

Don't let the comments rankle! You're the pro, you know what you're doing.

Shellee Roe

I'm sorry you have to clarify this for all the those who are dubious about the tuning, but you are definitely an outstanding performer and singer. will always love your stuff.

Debs Badger

The piano is a standard part of his arranging process. And the DAW shot he previously showed has piano instrumentation. The only unknown is if there will be a physical piano used in the video.

Hunter

It always tickles me when people always want to troll in the comments.

Manasi Kane

Experts using tools to polish their already close to perfect work!? 😱 What is this world coming to? /s Sorry you have to deal with such comments ❤️ What you do is amazing ! Looking forward to whatever perfection you have in store for us!

Karen & Lauren

I see the Sinus Plumber is at hand. Hoping you're not dealing with additional issues. Also want to add, that's a serious level of perfection without the tuning that Jacob Collier would be proud of imo. (except for the scoops ofc. habits are habits. lol.)

Gretchen G

Very interesting, thanks for the explanation! I figure it's all just part of the artistic process at this point. It's only when folks go overboard with it to the point where it doesn't sound genuine anymore that I don't like it.

Filiz E

Thanks for sharing and clarifying this for us! You sound great with or without autotuning..❤️

Scott J. Thornton

Yes, they are tools for vocalists to assist with getting the sound “just right,” but the original recordings have to be really close to begin with or the end result just sounds fake. I’m always impressed with your songs, Geoff, and the amazing quality of your vocals across your whole range!

Mikki Fullerton

Thanks for sharing! I appreciate that tuning is done for studio recordings, why would I want to listen to an out of tune note for years after it was sung? And I'm sure I would get derided in some circles for saying this but I've got some fantastic classics from years gone by I sometimes wish could have a note or two adjusted, and I'd be willing to bet you money if the artists at the time had had that option most of them would have agreed! At the same time, I greatly dislike when I can hear an automaticly running autotune software badly placing notes and adjusting slides all the way through some modern pieces, that just swings the pendulum way too far the other direction! Thank you so much for taking the time to develop your skill in singing to be accurate to begin with, taking the time to do multiple takes of the tricky stuff until you get it right, and then using Melodyne lightly and tactfully for the necessary small adjustments afterwards. That combination of choices always results in my favorite sound of music that's worth listening to for years and years after it's recorded: skilled vocalists forever in tune!

Hunter

This man would not be burning his sinus cavities out on a possible daily basis, if he didn't want to sound natural. He could easily let the autotune do the work for him, but he know what he's doing. And I appreciate the sinus cavity burning he goes through to produce such great work. People's hands move, before their brains work.

Jordi S

The trolls can all stay under the bridge where they belong. You're a skilled singer and most of those commentators don't have a clue.

Rhonda & Anna

Love the behind the scenes explanations! Thank you!

Jacky Friedman

Thank you Geoff. That was quite interesting and informative. I can see were getting super high and super low Geoff this time. Very cool 😎. Love all of your ranges. You have a beautiful voice no matter what range you sing in. My favorite though is in Song of Durin when Bofur sings his solo then the rest join him. It always pulls at my heartstrings and brings happy tears to my eyes 🥲.

Dominique

We appreciate your insight on how you do things. As long as it sounds awesome we personally don’t care how it is done. We know you work hard on everything you put out into the world and we are proud to be part of it while supporting you on Patreon! Please don’t let those naysayers and complainers get to you 🥰 You know how it’s done and how everything sounds right and we appreciate those videos you post. Just yesterday I was trying to listen to another bass singer’s song and I just couldn’t get past the first maybe Minute of the song. I thought it was awful. 😞 But then again it was probably just me not liking it. This has never happened to me with one of your songs because you always deliver ear candy 🤗 In other words: keep on keeping on! Now was anyone able to guess what song it’s going to be from the notes Geoff was showing???🤔

Jeanette Pencz

So sorry that you have to clarify this 🥺 We - your loyal „old and boring“ 😉fans know and appreciate your wonderful voice and your amazing skills. Please don’t listen to the haters, trolls, naysayers . Sending you a big hug from Germany.

Hunter

It is.

Jacky Friedman

Very true. I've heard and seen you sing live in your shorts. You definitely don't need auto tune Geoff.

𝕸𝖊𝖑𝖆𝖓𝖎𝖊 ♡ 𝕵𝖚𝖑𝖎𝖆 𝕾

Ohhh, thank you so much for the explanation. I'm a big fan of Geoff's voice and combined with the piano, I'm on cloud nine. In the chats and these short explanatory videos of him, I mostly just hear his voice 😅.

Jacky Friedman

Exactly. It's connected to his native instruments plugin to make the various instruments and sounds in his videos. There's a short he did about that.

Cécile Roussey

Geoff, know that for us, you are a marvel! An anecdote: when I look at your computer, there are red bars that are the piano that are not at the same height and I looked for the melody... but it wasn’t easy even though I know more or less how the melody is but not yet knowing what song you have in store for us, mystery and gum ball :-D! and to memorize a melody from a song that I invent on the vocalized side, I do exactly the same but except that I do it manually... with paper and pen so as not to forget what I am humming! when it’s upwards, it’s more acute and when it’s downwards, it’s lower! I don’t understand people who are hateful towards you Geoff, because you are a humble and generous man... But what bothers me when you publish the videos where you speak, is that I don’t understand what you are saying.. I am not good enough in English so I rely on the comments of others to have a trace to understand... especially since audio translation is paid at my place so I can’t afford it and it pisses me off! so when I write to you in English, it’s through a translator where I translate into my language while on the other side it’s translating into English... And to understand the comments, I select to copy paste in the translator so that it translates into my language... and this free software, it’s reverso ^^

Rachel Dempsey

People just really don’t understand what autotune is. They picture it as that electronic-y saving grace tool that pop stars used to use when they couldn’t really sing that well but were otherwise the whole package. There’s so much more to it and like Geoff says it only works when it’s got great vocals behind it already. Also like duh yeah his super low notes/laynes percussion are not going to be as loud as an Eli belt so yeah work has to be tweaked to get a more balanced sound.

Marie DesJardin

Geoff, you're such an honest, open person. I really appreciate what you do to share your art and educate us about how the practicalities work. Finish your tuning and go pet a puppy

elithea whittaker

geoff, i believe you are in your 40s? so obviously you’ve spent at least half that, probably much more, learning your singing craft. your tech craft is just newer. not better, not worse, just newer.

Dorothy Rosenberg

Thank you for the explanation and illustration. It’s sort of funny that people tend to disparage modern improvements. I wonder what was said about pitch pipes? Tuning forks? Frankly, anything which increases my experience is deeply appreciated. Thank you Kathy for the perfect costumes, Eli for the lighting, Layne & Pattycake for the production details, and post production editors. All of you make VoicePlay and Geoff even better.

donna stockwell

I'm glad you show us and give us an idea on how you make your songs that you sing work. That's what makes you a great artist in my book thank you for sharing..😊❤️👍

Karen & Lauren

it's even worse when it's an instrument and not a singer that's out of tune on the recording (*coughs* the guitar solo on "If You Leave Me Now")

Miran Tideturner

Many people overestimate their ability to detect "faking" and underestimate the skills of professionals. To me, using such tools is like gemcutting: If you want to bring out the fire and sparkle of a diamond, a diamond is what you have to start with. And if you GOT a diamond, you'd: 1. consider all the skills and tools you have for the task and 2. use them very consciously and carefully.

Rachel P.

Amazingly talented human being!!!

ChazyUK

Well Geoff, I thank you ☺️ very much for this explanation for two reasons. One - I do see that in the comments and obviously I want to be truthful in any response I might give. I tend to say things like, doesn’t every artist use some form of this in 2025 ! I also think you put it perfectly, that you need something there to start with and that takes work ! The second, which is irritating 😠 me just a little ( doesn’t take much when folk are quite ill lol 😂 and on many meds ) at the moment is a particular channel out there that at first glance you might think, well, yes saying you are singing live, maybe you perhaps should be, that’s a very in a nutshell way of explaining the “channel” but now the ch owner has launched his own branding that only those who do not use pitch correction and autotune get a seal of approval from the ch owner ! And this persons sub count is going up and up. This person featured Anthony 😍 and his little crew in the kitchen and blasted them 🤬 he ripped them to pieces but in a very “nice” way basically and the comments ( the owner gets many many ) section always blows up and agrees that music of any kind studio or live should not be altered in any way. Sorry I’m rambling, it would be easier to talk about this lol 😂👍 I have seen the odd comment where folk in his comments have said both yourself and VP should be featured for validity !! I believe I sort of touched on this subject in my question to Eli ? As I said to Eli, I have absolutely no qualms about pitch correction etc if it enhances my listening experience, I know nothing about pitch anyway so it wouldn’t make any difference to my listening experience or enjoyment. Gosh 😅 this is going be the wall of text lol 😂 that my lovely ☺️ fellow Patrons hate 🤣but they know me well now and the never ending questions haha 😮🤣 I may have brought this up in your question too, can’t remember now, old age and all that 🤷🏼‍♀️🫣 Thank you Geoff, I’ve been itching for this to be discussed, mostly brought on by the awful treatment of Anthony and the pointing of fingers at you boys 😊 Keep doing what you are doing, your renditions, your choices 👍 😊❤️

ChazyUK

Sorry I know it’s long but that particular person has everyone on there, including bands etc, believing that by using pitch correction you loose all the “emotion” I don’t get that from any of your songs or VP’s 😊

Daniel Anderson

I'm excited for this song, Geoff. I can't say anything that really hasn't been said. I haven't seen much comments on this, but I know it's not true. You worked hard on this, as you do with everything you do. You are a great singer and put out great covers! Thank you for inspiring me as a singer and hope the song goes well for you!

Rev Jessie

Thank you for this explanation, Mr. Castellucci. As someone who doesn’t work with music, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it in a way that I can understand. I never thought you would use tools to change your voice and I appreciate the opportunity to understand how the tools can be used “properly”. Thank you, also, for sharing more of the process you have to create the beautiful music you make for us.

Karen & Lauren

and we're glad to have you as part of the fan community. keep on singing young man.

Jaezrar

Oh neat! Loved this little peek to your tuning work. Thank you. It looks really complicated but I wouldn't say autotune because I know you have an amazing talent and don't need it, you can tune yourself. I believe in you! Looking forward to the new song 😁

Blue Raven

Oh no… not the dreaded “AUTOTUNE” comments again 😅 Thank you so much for sharing this behind-the-scenes look at your tuning process. Honestly, this is fantastic ammunition for those of us dealing with slightly-too-skeptical music teachers. (“See? Look! Nearly flawless before the tech even sneezes on it.”) 🤧 It’s such a brilliant reminder that great sound isn’t magic buttons – it’s years of focused, hard work, practice, and refinement. The tech is just the gentle final polish 🎶 Also – that SSD moment at the end… painfully familiar. Sitting here with GREY 2 TB, BLUE 2 TB, and RED 2 TB plugged in... I can SEE the colors – so WHY? But it’s kind of comforting to know, I’m not the only buffoon struggling with naming hardware intelligently 🤪😄 Brilliant video. Incredible work. Terrible SSD name. Basically… perfection 💙

Karen Campbell

I know the guy you're talking about and the video featuring Anthony. I switched it off after a few minutes. His videos were very different a few years ago and I don't like the videos he's doing now.

Cloudy Skies

Trolls take some perverse pleasure in trying to be mean. Ignore them. First, your voice shows the countless hours you have spent developing it; second, you have learned to use the tools that will hone an already awesome performance; and third, you care enough about your fans (and yourself) to produce that wonderful end product and not just say "screw it...good enough." Thank you for your music and for allowing us to peek behind the curtain.

ChazyUK

I wish they would because it really doesn’t help my short fuse these days 🫣😊

ChazyUK

I just cannot with the blooming haters, I really think jealousy plays a massive role in all this 😊

ChazyUK

It’s jealousy on their part, I truly believe that. Hate that Geoff has to “prove” he works so hard and has done for many years to folk who just have to have a dig 😊

ChazyUK

You said it better than me Eileen 😊 I went off on a rant lol 🤣 can’t help it, these meds are messing with me big time, better out than letting it all bubble up I guess 🤣😊😊❤️

Donald Webster

I appreciate the hard work you put into your renditions of the songs and eagerly wait for the next one.

ChazyUK

You sing pretty much on that line from what I can see 👍😊 ugh 😤 the haters and my current MH not a great mix lol 😂 We all love your music, promise, this is my last message 🤣😊

Deborah Krach

I appreciate your hard work to achieve the great renditions of the songs you sing. Keep up the great work!

Maria Rydström

Thank you for showing us how the work is done and it’s so interesting to follow in your footsteps towards your wonderful music🩷

Lynda Rood

I do not understand why people have to be so hateful. You work extremely hard, and it shows in the finished product. Am looking forward to what you're working on.

Christine

All of the good, musically trained reactors know the quality and skill of your vocal ability. All of them are in awe of the range, smoothness and depth of your voice and the constant work you put in to improve. We patrons know and love your honesty and integrity regarding your craft and we thank you for all the joy you bring to us through your beautiful arrangements.

Susana

Geoff, please, 🙏🏻don't pay attention to haters. We know how much you work, your efforts 💪🏻 to give us your music every month. You're a great artist, not only a good singer, a wonderful artist! ☺️. We support you, we follow you, admire you. 💕. And as I always say: thanks so much for sharing your music and your voice with us 😍. Big hug 🤗 for you from Argentina, very far away.

Doyne

Well, that was interesting, but we never doubted you.

Karin Wolf

Thanks for your writing. Was about to say the same. Big hug from Austria - small country (but also far far away - so no thread!😅🤣)

SunnyOutlook

As you said you have to have some talent to do what you do. You wouldn’t be where you are if you didn’t. Keep doing what you do. That’s why so many of us love it!! 💜💜💜

Susana

You're welcome and Austria is such a beautiful country!! Greetings from far away 💕

ChazyUK

I agree, I no longer give him any views. Yes he was very different years ago, his content was interesting. I was so mad when he did that to Anthony, then the comments 🤬 poor Anthony I am a softy, I felt so bad for him. I have ranted a fair bit recently which is very alien to me, I have been told it’s the change in meds, still I think maybe I might need to step back for a while 🤣😊

ChazyUK

Geoff is a beautiful, kind soul inside and out ❤️ if only the haters joined Patreon for just a month they would see for themselves 😊

ChazyUK

Aww 🥰 so many are inspired by Geoff bless him and bless you for supporting him, I hope all your dreams come true 😊

David Wanderer

Massive ability and hard work on display there. thanks for showing us how it works, that's really interesting!

Marie Galaxy

You: Professionalism at its finest!! “Them”: Ignorance at its worst!

Pixy P

Haters gonna hate because they don't have a smidgen of the talent you have; they're just jealous. You work incredibly hard to release incredible music and all of us here love you for it. 💖 Big hugs from the UK💖

Lana

Geoff ! Please don't listen to the malicious comments! There will always be these, unfortunately, unavoidable for any artist. But there are many more of us here because we have been following and admiring all the hard work you do for years. You are fantastically talented, that's a fact! We all know the range of your voice, its smooth velvety, its depth, its height and its pure delicacy. Achieving all this is the result of a lot of practice and perseverance. You are constantly improving, you don't stop at one level for a moment! I don't know why some people think that if someone uses digital possibilities as an aid, it is not authentic. I feel sorry for such people and at the same time they annoy me because they form a strong and poisonous opinion about something they have no idea about. There are many artists who work alone and in order for what they show to the world in the end to be not only good but perfect, then the tuning process is natural, which does not mean changing the voice! You don't need this because your voice is perfect and beautiful! We, the patrons, know and love your honesty and integrity regarding your profession, and we thank you for the joy you bring us with your beautiful orchestration. Thank you for giving us an insight into the process and explaining to everyone how much work goes into making a song. I'm really looking forward to the next song Geoff and please don't listen to the haters but to those who love you, respect you for yourself and for all the wonders your voice means to so many people!

Karin Wolf

German proverb here: "Wenn dich die Lästerzunge sticht, so lass dir dies zum Troste sagen: Die schlechtesten Früchte sind es nicht, woran die Wespen nagen!" Crude translation: If haters try to sting you take comfort from the fact that wasps don't gnaw on bad fruit. ... 🥰😍

Loralei Dragon

We always defend you when people cast aspersions! But also thanks for sharing, that was fun to see

Kaline Goodrich

Ooh, that makes me mad. That there are people out there denigrating or dismissing your talent because of a tool you use. Every profession has benefitted from more modern tools. My daughter is sitting beside me on the couch, creating her art on her iPad - with access to an incredible array of colors and brushes that an artist didn’t have 20 years ago. That doesn’t make her talent less valid or extraordinary, and I say the same is true of you and those in your profession.

Theresa Schultz

What people don't understand is even before autotune and programs like that professionals in the music industry mixed and adjusted their songs. That's why albums sounded better than live most of the time. So ignore the idiots, that probably couldn't carry tune in a bucket, and keep doing what you're doing.

B Sprak

Thank you for sharing this. It's clear you're capable of singing beautifully without benefit of computers. Still, you're right. If it makes editing, mixing, etc easier, why wouldn't you use it? Honestly, I hope somebody tunes that piano you occasionally work with. It must hurt your heart and ears every time it's used in a video. We love your work. Keep doing what you're doing and don't worry about the haters. They can't invalidate your talent. Most are probably jealous they can't do what you do and instead of being happy for you and grateful there are people like you, they try to make you insecure in your art. Hah! They could wish for a voice like yours!!!

Sue Armstrong

Armchair music producers, the equivalent of the drunk uncle with a beer belly yelling at the tv during the Super Bowl. 🤣

ChazyUK

Same ❤️😊

ChazyUK

Always and forever 👍😊

ChazyUK

Beautifully said Lana sweetie ❤️😊

ChazyUK

Yep exactly NKitty ❤️😊

ChazyUK

I agree, many long long time reactors, the true ones, the ones who are blown away every time by Geoff, love ❤️ him just as much as we do, we can see it written on their faces every time a new rendition comes out ❤️😊

ChazyUK

Well said Cloudy ❤️😊

Amanda Nott

That's pretty cool just seeing that little snippet. As a similar analogy, I used to think editing photos was like cheating. However, when I discovered that even Ansel Adams did creative techniques in the dark room to enhance his pictures, I realized that a little tweak or two is not necessarily a bad thing. But as you've said, you have to start with a pretty decent version to begin with. If you start with a bad original, editing or Auto tuning is not going to help a whole lot!

Carolyn Bryant

Thanks for sharing this. I paint and after a piece is dry and I've lived with it for a bit I do touch ups and frame it. It doesn't change the picture but it's much more polished and professional. These things are important. I'm in complete agreement and appreciate you saying it out loud. Cheers!

Brandy Franklin

There's nothing wrong with polishing your work. Now, it would be a different story if you didn't have the talent and just used the programs to completely alter the piece, but what you do with it is basically like icing a cake. fixing minor imperfections so, no big deal. You are doing the vast majority of the work. So many of us out there love you and what you do. The haters can take a hike.

Suzann Harris

To think that you took the time to share with us, thank you. Sadly, in a world where envy too often outweighs appreciation, some so-called musicians let jealousy overshadow genuine talent. But then there are artists like you, who remind us of what real artistry sounds like. Your voice is more than beautiful; it’s powerful. Depending on the piece, your music uplifts, heals, and inspires. We can only imagine the hours of dedication, emotion, and craftsmanship that go into creating music so deeply moving. Thank you for sharing your extraordinary gift with the world. We’re all better for it!

Sallaward

Thanks for this! This kind of explanation is part of your charm.

Karen & Lauren

last we heard, Tony (and Layne) didn't want to have it tuned.

Tara Congo

Thank you for sharing this, Geoff!!

C

I tend to prefer a tiny bit of unevenness in a singer's sound—I think that's why I've always been fond of live music and old recordings—but that's a personal preference. The music you make is ultimately about your vision, not mine, and I respect you using whatever tools help get something as close to your vision as possible. (Especially because we do know you can sing; it's always a treat when you give us something "in the air"!)

Crisstina Joubert

That’s just mind blowing, how much effort, energy and talent you put into everything. Thank you for sharing these very interesting glimpses!!❤️

Suzy Bailey

It saddens me that you have felt the need to explain this, yet again. Though this was also an interesting peek into part of the process, thank you Geoff! You are wonderfully talented and a joy to listen to! I'm sure these trolls are just jealous of your abilities. Do they also moan about writers using spell/grammar checkers to correct/enhance their work? They still need the talent to write something that draws you in and immerses you in the story! Hell, even brick layers, instead of two stakes and a bit of string now use laser levels to enhance precision. These whining trolls clearly have fungus for brains and should just be ignored! 💜🇬🇧

Tonia Richardson

Interesting, thank you for this perspective. IMO, the internet provides too many people who know nothing about music, but who have learned 3 or 4 terms, an unearned platform to just whine. I deeply appreciate your talent and again, thanks for this snippet behind the technological scene. Bless up!

Blue Raven

Like many others here, I often find myself calling you “talented.” It’s the first word that comes to mind. But lately, I’ve been wondering if it’s quite the right word. Talent feels like something you’re born with – a gift granted from nowhere. But what you do? That’s not just a gift - it’s the result of thousands of hours of work. Of patience. Of precision. Of refusing to settle. That’s not talent alone. That’s craftsmanship. What we hear – the impossible range, the rich tone, the emotional precision – it’s shaped through years (and years) of dedicated effort. From what might have started as a single ember of talent, you’ve forged something extraordinary ✨ And we know it – even if we sometimes forget to tell you. So yes – you’re talented. But even more impressive: you’re skilled. Trained. Disciplined. Professional in the deepest sense of the word. Then there are the people – not here, mostly elsewhere – who claim: “This isn’t real.” “This is pitch-shifted.” “This is autotuned.” “This isn’t possible.” I don’t really blame them. How could they know better, when they’re faced with something that sounds impossible? We’re lucky. We’ve followed your journey. We’ve seen the steady climb – the constant refinement that makes every new release more breathtaking than the last. We’ve glimpsed the practice. The care. The craft. But if I hadn’t seen that, I might wonder too. Because what you do does sound almost incomprehensible. And yet, it’s clearly what happens when someone devotes themselves completely to their art. It’s human – but right at the edge of what’s humanly possible (and maybe a little past it). And with every step, you seem to push those limits even further. How could they truly understand when faced with unique greatness like that? But - it’s real. It’s all you. We know you weren’t born a superhero or a supervillain… You just built yourself into sounding like one – while still remaining a kind-hearted, remarkably grounded guy. Maybe “talented” will still be the word we reach for first – I’ll probably still use it, too. But when I do, I hope you’ll know it means more than luck. It means earned brilliance! 💎 Thank you for making the nearly impossible sound effortless. You’re not just talented, sir. You’re relentless. You’re real. And somehow, still ridiculously humble about it. Always remember: Not being known doesn’t stop the truth from being true. - and someone always knows... 💙

Susana

🥹💕💕

Daniel Anderson

I couldn't have said it better myself... 👏 😌. I fully agree with this comment.

Spots Knight (I never use my real name online)

I find it amazing in this day and age that skilled performers like yourself have to defend yourselves against trolls like this. Real fans know the amount of skill and effort that you put into your work. We really appreciate it and hate seeing comments like the ones you described.

Kaline Goodrich

Wow! You have a way with words. I tried to say something like this, but I wound up erasing it and leaving something else. Thank you for putting what I was feeling about this post into words so very eloquently.

Tracy K

Well said. Hard work, persistence and talent, all wrapped up a kind and handsome package.

Karin Wolf

I second this. Could not have been said better!

Marie DesJardin

I agree. Someone analyzed some of Freddie Mercury's singing. He wasn't always pitch perfect, but the uncorrected version carried an emotional punch that was missing in the tweaked "perfect" version. A talented singer's delivery matters more than the absolute pitch

Lindabell

Thanks for showing us this. I understand it better now. It s like when you sew a long seam and you got slightly off track for a couple inches. You fix the couple inches, not rip out the whole seam!

ChazyUK

Well said : )

ChazyUK

@Blue Raven - Could I borrow some of what you have said please for when I fend off stupid people ? : )

ChazyUK

I guess I am lucky Marie in a sense in that I know nothing about pitch or music theory in general. I would never know if a note has been altered or not, I just hear what I hear and bask in the music/song as a whole especially when the song comes from artists like Geoff or VP : )

Tracie Schlaak

You do not to splain yourself to any trolls. We all know how talented you are.

Jen A AKA Dravengal

The problem with autotune isn't itself as a tool. It's people who can't sing who use autotune to make it seem like they CAN sing. They use it as a cheat. There's nothing wrong with using it to enhance a song that you've put work into. Ignore the haters. They're not worth the time it takes to read their comments.💛

Daniel Anderson

Maybe it's an original like Voiceplay!? (I doubt it, but it would be exciting to see!)

Stacey V.

First and foremost Thank You for giving of you self and you time to bring us the beautiful music you make. For teaching us things in the music industry. ( how to make Growls, sub harmonics )and now what autune should be used for, also many, many, other things.) Now its time to definistrate the Troll comments from you life ! You are an amazing craftsman in the signing world. Your low notes are like polished mahogany. It's rich and dark and beautiful and stands out amunsts the other wood. As you progress up you vocal range you skill and technique does not faulter. It just changes. It flows like the breeze through the forest of trees. Each note is enrobed in its own richness that exudes every emotion and heartfelt care that you have put into your artwork. Those of us that are here are absolutely enamored with you astonishing gorgeous voice. However we stay because you are human (kind ,friendly, willing to talk and answer questions. ) and the love that you have for your family, animals, extended VP family. Again Thank You ! Looking forward to the new song.❤️

Swan

Lovely to see any and all details of the process! Thank you so much for sharing but also I am so sorry you felt pressured to share at all. I never once had a moment with any of your songs where it sounded artificial or over produced. I wish you all the nicest comments for the future!

L. Randolph Lee

Ignore the Trolls, God knows I could us autotune now at age 77 after several heart attacks and a broken neck [it has been interesting few years]. In the 70s and 80s I was a base/baritone in musical theatre in what was once called ‘summer stock’ mostly in southern New England. And I doubt even then I could not think of a week when someone did not drop a clanger. Myself included. I had a ‘good’ voice nothing like as deep as Geoff. Put good enough that I had an Actors Equity card and was paid ok money for my efforts. I think almost everyone I performed with back then would have welcomed the tiny headset microphones that can be used today in live performances. I know I would have used it if had been available. And as you said it only helps as a production tool if you can sing well to start with.

ChazyUK

Yes, this, exactly : )
