How about a little "Screamin'" Jay Hawkins to get the season started?

Well, if not Screamin' Jay, then how about some "Boring" Geoff. It's a close second.

This is the fully realized version of "I Put A Spell On You" that has been transfigured from a "short" to a um... no-so-short song due to popular demand and also because I just wanted to.

I hope you all love the track, i think it turned out pretty darn well, and you'll be able to stream it THIS SATURDAY along with the complete "Requiem" album. If you have a physical copy, then you've already been scared pantsless by the combined terror of the tracks and should probably find some new pants. Then come back and watch this video.

With pants on.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

PERKS COMIN SOON!

It's about time you put "boring" in quotes...you are anything but!

Angie Woollard

This song is INCREDIBLE!! There is some real amazing stuff underneath the piano there - can't wait to listen a few (dozen) more times to suss everything out!

David Wanderer

this is a brilliant song! I love the rework and those belts! How could anyone lose their pants with such belts?

Fran Giles

Wonderful, as always!!

Debs Badger

Bravo, G! Very well done indeed!

Rachel P.

I loved it!! Now, a new request for a Halloween-themed classic: Come to Me by Johnny Mathis, with you as a vampire and Kathy as your "victim", maybe in costumes similar to those in Monster Mash?

Susana

Thank you for sharing your time with us, Geoff. It has been a pleasure.

Nickolas Oneschuk

I love this so much! Been waiting for the full version for a while, so happy with the product! Amazing as always, Geoff!

Amy Murray

Everything I hoped it would be. Can't wait to share this once it's public!

Mikki Fullerton

I love it, love it, love it! Thanks for putting a little extra pizzazz on this song! Your short was amazing, this is even cooler!

Daniel Anderson

Another full version of a great song from you Geoff! I loved your full version of Further On Up the Road, and I'm sure this one will be no different! ♥️

Lynn M

That piano bridge, goodness gracious, that piano bridge.

Sue Armstrong

I love it! Of course, I love the short version, so chances were high this one would follow suit. 😁 So if I order this album it will TP my house and make my pants disappear? That's an accomplished piece of vinyl you created, sir!

ZAYRAY!

Gotta say. I appreciate the dusted and clean piano!

Sarah Borzelli

*Goes to buy more pants... Oh my Oh! I love love love the set and the camera work! So cool that the gramophone made it in there. Geoff, always do things because you want to - as they turn out so fantastic. (Pantstastic?) As much as I love you singing I ADORE the piano interlude!!!!! There are so many cool sounds there...is there even a helicopter?! Just brilliant! At the very start there is a little bell or maybe just the hitting of a high piano note...I already like that so much...so subtle but it adds a little something The changed up from the short oh's are delightful. The shaker gives the song such a good drive. The distortion and the belted parts are awesome (as belts are good for keeping pants on) - I love your choice of keeping your voice more bare here (without harmonies) BRAVO Geoff 😍

Silv E

Haha, I was actually ONLY wearing pants for the premiere. Anyway, I love it!!! There's something very fresh and ... modern about it? That arrangement is *exciting* whatever you say, and the performance is intense and (if you'll forgive me for saying so) sexy af - I have nothing more intelligent to say right now, just gonna go watch it some more!

Manasi Kane

This is incredible ! Of all the things you could have done , I am so glad you chose to do this ❤️! Your short was brilliant and this is beyond amazing ! The set and the camerawork and the video editing perfectly complement the audio ! The hairs on the back of my neck have never paid more attention, I can tell you that ! Your version of this song is THE version now ! ❤️

KorKnot

Excellent work. Thank you, Geoff. 😃 💓

ZAYRAY!

Mmm Pizza

Marie DesJardin

Love this one! The set is gorgeous. The percussion is like a striking snake, lashing out between the piano riffs. Spooky and spoopy! Thank you

Crisstina Joubert

That’s a wicked and wonderful way to welcome in Spooky Season, and keep it to the fore all year long!! Thank you!!❤️🎃👻🍁

Maggie S

Most Excellent! Thank you for the full version of this song. It washes over one in a tidal wave. Still buzzing from listening to it twice. Floating in a sea of tranquility. Beautiful set. Beautiful music. Thank you, Geoff and Kathy.

Doyne

Again, a fantastic arrangement and performance! Thanks, Geoff! Enjoyed the hidden premiere!

Loves to Dive

Gotta say, your voice was made for this song. Or this song was made for your voice. Or your voice and this song were made for each other. Hey, now it's a love song.

Jonna J

I'm mesmerized by this arrangement. I wish I had the words to describe how amazing it is. It's like every neuron in my brain lit up, but at the same time all the thoughts went quiet. It's bit similar feeling I get when visiting some magnificent medieval cathedral. You step in and feel overwhelmed and breathless at the beauty and skill surrounding you. As you stay longer your eyes catch more on more beautiful details everywhere and it makes you feel such joy and humility and a tinge of longing and sadness knowing that you can never reach that level of skill that you could create anything comparable. Still you are comforted by knowing that some people can do it and they choose to share their skills and talents for world to enjoy

Mira.Jean

This is definitely one of my favorites, Geoff! I love the work you put into it! Keep doing what you do! I always love every song you come out with though, haha 😅

Silv E

I hope you see my other comment, too...

Meg Dailey

You can't tell me what to do re: pants, spell or no!! But I will certainly be listening to the album as much as possible when it arrives~

Ashley Evers

I love that you chose to keep it as a solo at the piano, just like Further On Up The Road. This is gorgeous, and just sinister enough for the holiday 🥰 I love that you are leaning more into the piano parts, and that you've been flexing your tenor belts more again lately. You soundd absolutely gorgeous on those high notes 🥰 You could absolutely kill any crooning you wanted to do, btw 🤣

Carol Franklin

So pleased we get the full ‘boring’ version have a great Halloween 🎃

Marie Galaxy

I received my CD & Vinyl albums today! So spooky and fun to listen to. And now with this preview, I am totally ‘Spellbound’!! 💜💚

Josh Smift

I've had a hard time with this song ever since "Under Your Spell" from Once More With Feeling. :^\

Zoie McIntyre

That was brilliant Geoff - loved it. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. xoxo

Joe Portell

Awesome! Well done! Definitely puts a good step towards spooky season! Can't wait for my copy of your new album!

Amber

Incredible as always, Geoff!! I'm so glad you did a full version of this one. The short version is on my Halloween playlist and every time I wish it was longer!

Diamond Wray

Forget losing pants. Geoff just made me melt. 🤯🫠

Maria Moore

That was fantastic well worth the wait. That will be going on my playlist when mp3 is released and played on repeat

Christine

Oh! What an absolute treat. Just wonderful. I love it when there is a piano solo and this time we were given far more than the usual snippet. A really beautiful arrangement with perfect, subtle accompaniments. Thanks so much, Geoff, for giving us this.

NoFancyName

Never Boring Geoff - enchanting...

Loralei Dragon

Eh, pants are overrated. This song, however, is not! 🔥

Loralei Dragon

I think you might be wearing your belts wrong...

Jeanette Pencz

Yup you absolutely put a spell on me (again) 🫠🥰 Immediately goosebumps and shivers - I love your version of this song so much. Geoff and the piano - sigh - how can anyone resist 😍

Maria Rydström

This is wonderful Geoff and as always i love the way you play the piano💕

IsabellA

Oh! I remember the short so well. So happy you did the full song!!!

ChazyUK

Oh I love ❤️ how this picks up the drive after the wonderful smooth start 😊 Also love how we get more piano shots and sounds, it’s lovely Geoff 😊

Jaezrar

Amazing video! I loved it. I was hoping we'd get a full version of this song 😹

ChazyUK

Can’t wait for mine 😊 they have to travel across that pond though so it takes a while 😊

Helen D

Really love this. The attention to detail in the arrangement and the set, just perfection. Sounds amazing and will be another track on the playlist. Really hoping you maybe one day bring us a full version of "All I want for Christmas", the short was soo good but it needs to be longer! 😁🤞😊

Jen

Beautifully woven

Talbot

LOVED it. Very gothic, right down to what sounded like a thunderstorm in the background. Weirdly my favorite part is that last banged note, the I MEAN BUSINESS note. Happy Halloween!

Pixy P

I adore this song and I'm so glad you chose to extend it. Absolutely smashing as always 💖

Silv E

Watching this vid, I keep finding myself picturing a bass player sitting on the couch, and a drummer in the corner... and then thinking "surely Geoff, immersed in the Orlando music scene for the last 400 years as he is, knows many such personages and could do a show..." Ah, now there's a pleasant dream! Anyway, I'm not sure how to articulate this, but something about the way you arranged and sang this feels very *you*. Like, "only Geoff could do it this way". One of the main reasons I love listening to cover songs (and found you in the first place) is because I get a kick out of seeing how different artists put their spin on the same tune. I love the way this combines a very fresh modern feel, with the unexpected ear candy (walkthrough? pls?), with a more classic one. And how the vocal feels so smooth and powerful and thrilling - it reminds me of being on a rollercoaster, to listen or (attempt to) sing along. And how the chords feel surprising and take us on a journey. I'm sure Angie knows why, but I just enjoy the ride. (Ah, when the piano solo starts! Chills!) It's all so very GEOFF. (That's a good thing, Dumberella. Haha, if I ever find a beige barefoot shoe lying around, I guess I'll know where to return it? :D)

Marie Galaxy

They’re worth the wait! 😄

Filiz E

Ooh, I love this!! Thank you..

Scott Boa

You should have had Kathy on the piano.

Delila Hall

I just love Geoff at the piano. 🎹 ❤️

Tine

Oohh interesting! I really enjoy this. What a gorgeous setting, and that camerawork! Well done, sir!

Tracy K

Gorgeous. As always. I found the gramophone, so glad you managed to get it in. Another beautiful rendition, definitely not old or boring. 💞💞💞

Gaisha Ziapour Edwards

❤️❤️❤️👌🌹never get tired of listening to your voice...thank you for sharing.

Scott Boa

VoicePlay should do a cover of WITCH DOCTOR by David Seville.

Angela Scheiber

Well, you clearly put a spell on us all... But really, I hoped for a full version of this, so thank you and well done! Love it 😁

Judi B E

First, I love the moving camera and the gramaphone. That does look like a great place to work, pulling all the props you want. I listened to the track before watching the video and I could see your face on that last piano note in my head and, of course, it matched perfectly. I am sticking with my first impression - Sultry & Sexy, our favorite Geoff.

Amanda Nott

That was just lovely! Btw I put the new CD on my birthday list, so I'm hoping someone in my family has ordered it for me! If not, I might have to buy myself a present lol!

Cécile Roussey

Hello, I was afraid it would be a video about Halloween because I have a problem with that, I feel very uncomfortable according to my beliefs... and then, I watched, I discovered, and now, I’m not disappointed and this chest of voices... wow!!! Seriously! If it’s on YouTube, I’ll share it directly on my Facebook... but rest assured, Geoff, I won’t be sharing the YouTube link right now... because it’s private and between us on Patreon... I’ll only share when it’s publicly visible! Trust me... ;-)

Cécile Roussey

I just looked at the lyrics and the French translation... I was afraid it would all be black... but in the end, it’s a cry of love through the child to his father... in my opinion... if I am wrong, please correct me
