Hello out there!

I had briefly touched on this during the web chat the other day, but I wanted to formally figure out what ya'll are most interested in seeing. Help me figure out which direction we should go next by picking one of the options below. OR if there's something i haven't mentioned as part of the poll, leave me a comment and lemme know. Thanks!

Zara (ZAYRAY!)

Music videos... but I also think Vlogs just for us

Jessica

All of the above. I love your voice Geoff

Maggie S

Narrative and Music Video

CortisALL

I don't mind what you do, as long as you like the outcome or have fun doing it

Alan Mueller

Basically all of your Q&A content is amazing, especially the first two videos about how to sing really low. They were casual but still felt like you put effort into making them enjoyable to watch and to be entertaining. I've never come up with a great question but I've always enjoyed watching you answer others' questions.

Jeno

Personally, the singing tutorials. Your bass tutorial videos helped me out SO much. And it's really nice to know some secrets of the trade ^.^

Gabriella Sejer

All of them, but most important, that you have fun doing it for us

Leme

Let your singing patreons put covers of your songs on YouTube or somewhere and you react to it. Give tips and tricks on how to improve.

W Graham Eyster

I’m really interested in BTS things as well. So part Vlog part Music

Rio

I wanna choose all of those.. but mainly music vids and narrations and maybe Q&A's/vlogs/tutorials unregularly or on occasion when there are many questions on a topic (like the techniques/arranging etc.) or updates/news about something. But most importantly, do whatever you have fun and inspiration for and are passionate about like with the Headless Horseman cover! One could really see the love that went into that project! 😊

Arlene Jacobs

E, all of it. Anything you do is incredible!!

Ebel Knebel

All of the above may not be very helpful, but really whatever you feel like doing. Content you enjoy doing is going to be the best content. Your voice brought me here, your personality/interactions kept me here. I’m just here to enjoy the ride 😜

james calvin daniels

Extremely hard to find pick, but I just love your speaking voice so much......I constantly relisted to The Raven and The Tale-Tell Heart all the time.

Tabby Livingstone

Honestly.. everything and anything. I listen to your Audios for bed. And I listen to voiceplay to wake me up in a good mood. More Audios would be amazing maybe Shakespeare sonnets or monologues

Beefy Pancakes

This is all good. I can’t really pick

Tracie Schlaak

Anything. I can’t get enough of hearing your voice. You could read the phone book for all I care. Oh wait I’m dating myself. Just do whatever makes YOU happy 😊

Gerhardt Rheeder

You are such a cool and fun loving guy. Do what you have fun doing, but also, vlogs would be amazing to just see how you live life.

Seth Gray

i think that more demonstrations would be very cool to see as well as singing videos. Even short singing videos like a couple of seconds to sing an outtake from a song you enjoy!

Margo Zimny

I'm sorry but I'm not going to make this easy😁 i enjoy watching/ listening to all content you put out. Of course, music and videos are at the top but i love your narrations. Your voice was made for the likes of Poe and others. Totally transports the listener into the world the author was trying to create. Your tutorials are fascinating, even for those of us not able to excavate below the basement in bass. I would love a vlog! I think fun things would happen. So... all of the above.

Alaethea (Ali)

I agree with the 'E all of the above'. I think we all enjoy hearing you sing, but your speaking voice is very relaxing which is nice. So top choice is music, second choice is audio/readings. While I definitely love watching the videos please don't think that most of us need a big production to enjoy your music. I do also very much enjoy the behind the scenes and chats. Honestly, just have fun with it. I think the general consensus is that we're all pretty happy being along for the ride.

Christina Dowdican

I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but i watch them anyway so all of them are all in❤️😊

Julie Hobson

I agree all of the above but I would enjoy the book idea. I go to sleep with an app that reads books and you would be awesome to hear read or tell a story. Then your singing is amazzzzing so of course that as well. ❤❤❤

Inge (Inch)🎨📏

Your narrations are awesome! I listen to audiobook stuff all day and you rarely hear a voice like yours. It's so good! And obviously we want MORE music!!

Name

Anything, everything, but especially singing videos!

Bradford A Wallick

I vote for whatever you want to do. Genius comes through passion. 🙂

Nessie Morris

Seriously whatever you want to put out there, everything's been awesome and insightful on your channel

Debs Badger

Whatever you have the passion for. That is when you are your most engaging, when you're thoroughly into it.

Runa Reinert

I checked off music videos and tutorials. But I would like to add. Personally the music matters more than the qualilty of the video. I appreciate all the work you put into your videos and you and your wife are fantastic at doing them. But it is the music that matters. I also said singing tutorials, you are a bass and i'm female, so ofc I will never sing bass. But more of a general thing I mean how you arrange, break down music etc. If you ever do anything like that with voiceplay. I would kind of want to know why you always choose so extremely tight harmonies. I keep wondering that whenever I hear voiceplay. Anyway, all appreciated. I do love hearing your voice.

Stacey Post

That's why I went with the US tax code instead. Sadly, it's something that will always be with us. And yes, I would still listen if Geoff read it.

Stacey Post

I watch everything you do, because you're just fun to watch and listen to. However, as a high soprano, tutorials on singing bass are of limited use to me.

Michael Rooney

Honestly, anything you decide to do we will love it, so you can't really go wrong!

Stacy Tee

I do absolutely LOVE to see the behind the scenes/vlog stuff. It truly makes the end results much more meaningful and special. It's a given that it takes a ton of work & planning, but to see the process, at least for me, helps bring more of the details in finished version to light. (For example in Trapped, I watched 100000 times and NEVER saw Layne in the chair, didn't realize the BTS on where exactly that was in actual end video, but when I figured it out, it gave me chills. I sometimes even still have jump moments watching that one.) I don't/won't sing, even though I watch just because you took the time to share & appreciate how it helps many who do, it doesn't necessarily benefit me so I can't say "all of the above". :) Thank you for all that you have put out for us this far.... it's all been super fun to follow and worth every penny!!!!!!

Vincent Knight

I love Leme's idea, about reacting to covers of your songs, and then giving feedback. Music videos / new arrangements are always awesome. Behind the scenes makes everything mean "more" as most don't really understand what goes into doing something unless they see it. Q&As are great.... soooo yeah umm... Pretty much whatever you feel like doing. Whatever you enjoy the most, will come out in what you do, and that's truly what we are here for. To help support you, and share in your creativity and adventures.

Tim & Sarai Merritt

All of the above, but if we have to pick SOMETHING, it would be music videos. But seriously, do it all based on where your motivation is at the time.

Danette Burden

I enjoy all things Geoff ☺️👍🏾

Cynthia Ross

You didn’t say MP3’s.... 🙃 Don’t get me wrong, I love the videos. But I also see they are time consuming to produce. I honestly wouldn’t mind you skipping some vids for more diverse content others want so long as there’s a steady diet of MP3’s. But then, the vids may be worth the time to you as promotion, so...IDK. My second choice is the narrations - I’d love to hear you do one of those relaxation/meditation type things. But I’m here for music. Everything else is icing on a cake that’s already divine. As long as I’m getting music, I’m happy.

Jamie T.

I choose music videos but honestly I agree with others who have said you should do what you enjoy & what makes you happy. I would also enjoy narrations since your speaking voice is just as soul melting as your singing voice and vlogs would be great too. Since I can't sing to save my life tutorials would be of limited help to me but I'd still watch them to hear your voice & enjoy your sense of humor that shows through in everything you do. 😍

Sandy Mrotek

Actually my first choice is reading of books. I could listen all day to that and it is something we can do while cleaning house etc BUT and that's a big BUT I like everything you do. I do also like watching how you guys make the videos because when we see the finished product we can fill in some of the blanks. All of you are so talented and each of you bring a lot to the group. Thank you for considering any of these options. It is a big bonus for all your fans. Thanks.

Cindy Jones

Any genre of music that you pursue is going to be terrific. Not only do I love music. But, I'm also a huge audio book fan. I have 548 titles in my collection. A good narrator is like a super Rockstar. A great example is Luke Daniel. Not only do we purchase books to listen to the distinctive characters, we'll drop everything to watch a podcast of him recording a story. And, you have that ability my friend. I also love watching the reactions to people watching voiceplay. And now I'm seeing the reactions to you. And the point is... people are reacting. And I've not seen a negative one yet. Any road you travel. You'll find success. I hope you find the the one that brings challenges. But, most of all when it's said and done. You're able feel it in your soul that you made a difference. You've touched mine. And I'm just one person. I hope this helps. As always.... Cindy

Zara (ZAYRAY!)

You grew that mustache quick........... 👀

Geoff Castellucci

interesting idea. Anyone brave enough to be the first to be critiqued!? 🤓

Katie D

I'll honestly be happy with anything you decide to do. It's why I'm here 😊

W Graham Eyster

Geoff, it depends on the song. 😉And it depends on how much I don’t care about being laughed at! 🙂

Leme

Already made a cover of 'the headless horseman'. All I need now is a head.. Or, you know, permission to upload it somewhere. We all know how brutal the copyright system is..

Jancie Sheppard

Honestly, I’ve enjoyed everything you’ve produced thus far. Your passion, talent, and sense of humor shine in everything you do and make it that much more entertaining. I will happily continue to watch and listen to anything you choose to release. That said, one topic I am particularly curious about is the basic music theory you use when arranging music, such as what chords to use and the shape they take. Perhaps you could consider making a video discussing this?

Stacey Post

I listen to Voiceplay and Geoff at work, to keep from saying what I'm really thinking.

Stacey Post

I would be interested in that. Tutorials on singing that apply across other vocal ranges would be good, too.

Jamie T.

I am so glad to hear I'm not the only one that's watched Trapped a ton of times and I STILL haven't figured out when/where Layne disappears! I'll have to see if I can find the BTS; I'm a relatively new VP Patreon member so time to start digging back through all the BTS goodness.

Stacey Post

On the subject of narrations (because I've decided to be on the subject of narrations), I would like to suggest "Usher II", from "The Martian Chronicles". It's Ray Bradbury's dystopian homage to Edgar Allan Poe.

Tabby Livingstone

That sounds like a fun idea!!! I would do it for sure

Rebekah Galy-Davis

Read the dictionary, orate a phone book (if you can find one), recite the lineage in chapter 1 of Matthew in the Bible...I could, in all honesty, listen to you read ANYTHING... ...Though I do hope you find more interesting things to read than the above list. 😂

Jessie Massey

I couldn't decide! To join the chorus above, I'd enjoy anything you produce. I'm really just happy to be here, with the opportunity to support an artist in their (very fabulous) work. I guess that means my vote for above would be yes!

Gretchen G

Are you familiar with Dermot Kennedy? I'd love to hear you make a cover of "Lost" (or "Moments Passed" or "Outnumbered," etc.) No idea if this would be practical or something you're interested in at all. I just think you could do something awesome with it! Anyhoo, I agree with what everyone else is saying. I'll be thrilled with whatever you decide to do. Just pick something you love and have fun with it!

Debs Badger

Jamie, shortly after they enter the house, when Earl 'blinds' Layne with his cell phone flashlight, you can see the gloved hand over Layne's right shoulder. Then when they look again, he's gone! 😱

Olivia

Yes! Informative yet entertaining. Even for us people who are definitely not basses.

Raven Winters

I was just listening to some of my music from middle and high school and was thinking that I would love to hear your twist on something. Look up Beautiful Soul by Jessie McCartney. I would love to hear your version of this.

Tara Congo

Random suggestion for something I'd love to hear you read - "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury. It's a haunting science fiction story that I read as a kid and has stuck with me through the years. I think it'd be brilliant in your voice.

darlene cheatham

I would love to hear It’s a Wonderful world

Amanda Panda

Random, late to the party comment! I would love to hear you read The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes Also, I once heard Baby Mine from Dumbo sung by a man and loved it but can't find it anymore. If you could record that song I would probably melt 😅

D McKim

I would like to add a vote for anything by Ray Bradbury, each of his short stories were absolute gems.

Tara Congo

Another reading suggestion - To Build a Fire by Jack London. It's a little bleak, but such a brilliant short story.

Jason Ray

For songs: I'd love an expanded Chimney sweep song (from his excerpt in voiceplay's Disney Sidekicks) or The Sound of Silence. For readings, I'd love Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky

Catherine Motteram

I would totally love you to read the Story 'Go the F*** to Sleep' by Adam Mansbach. I think you would do it better than Samuel L Jackson.
