"Take Me Home, Country Roads" | PREVIEW SCREENING (Patreon)

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I would (when not traveling with VoicePlay or otherwise working in some capacity) run sound for my wife's party band. They'd do all the hits, old and new, and I'd try to keep up without making myself look like a complete knucklehead behind the board because (and I don't know if I've mentioned this in the past) I'm a passable recording engineer, but an abysmal live sound engineer. I suspect that Kathy only hired me to work the faders because I was free labor, subwoofers are heavy, and I always told her how pretty she looked when she got her "rockstar" on.
I digress. One of the songs they used to perform was "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver and it always struck me as a real toe-tappin', harmony hummin', ear friendly tune, and i thought to myself. "Self - I bet you could do a pretty sweet arrangement of that one day if given the opportunity".
Well, past self, future self here, and here the arrangement is. And yup, it's a pretty sweet rendition of the classic if I do say so my... um... self.
I hope you guys enjoy my weird foray into solo country stardom. I keep telling Kathy that I'm expecting ALL THE CALLS from Music Row labels as soon as this puppy goes public, and to REALLY get into the vibe, i've taken to wearing a pair of cowboy boots around the house. Kathy just rolls her eyes and insists that cowboy boots are fine, but i should put on some pants and a shirt just in case the neighbors are out. She's always ruining my fun. 🙄
Speaking of fun: This video is fun. It was fun to make, it was fun to edit, and I hope it's fun to watch and listen to. Let me know what you think in the comments below and as always, thank you so very very much for EVERYTHING.
