Hey there!

I mentioned this in the preamble for the video, but I'm still a little stuck on what exactly to title this one. Any suggestions are very welcome. We're considering calling it "Losing Your Hearing", but I'm open to alternate ideas.

Lemme know!

Kathy’s Hearing Journey

CookieVA

Losing your hearing is a good title. I literally just woke up so I can’t think of anything other than that. I’m very old and boring today. 😊😉

Eileen Parkman

I think "Losing Your Hearing" is fine. If you want to be a bit meta, you could go for the obvious, "Can You Hear Me Now?" joke-y title.

Vanessa

Hope in the silence - her story is very inspirational

Jordi S

I like losing your hearing or Zayray's suggestion

Cara Zylla-Paterson

Eileen beat me to it! I was also going to say, “Can you hear me now?”

Michelle G

Whatever title you use it might be useful to put something about Kathy or "wife" in the title - people who aren't aware may think it's you personally losing your hearing. Just a thought.

Angie Woollard

I like "Losing Your Hearing." Simple and to the point. I kinda feel this video needs a simple, direct title, not something goofy. I also like that this wording makes it feel like it could apply to, and therefore inspire, anyone.

Coda

"Losing your hearing" is good, but isn't an attention grabber in my opinion - I don't know exactly what you want with the title, if you want something that as many people as possible will want to click so that you can share the story to as many people as possible, or if you prefer something simple and let the curious people find it. If you're going for the latter, then the title is fine - If you want the former, maybe making the title a bit more personal, like "My wife's hearing loss journey" or "Losing your hearing - My wife's experience" or something akin to that, might grab more people's attention.

Valorie Rose Lyons

I guess somebody’s gotta say it, if only so it can be shot down… the Sound of Silence / Sounds in Silence.

Jennifer Remy

“Hearing a Different Reality - Kathy’s Journey of Hearing Loss”

Shari Ann Creamer

"Losing Your Hearing" is perfectly fine. I love a video title that tells me exactly what I'm in for.

Coda

Also, are you aware that there is 2 minutes of black screen at the end of the "Losing your hearing" video? Sorry if you've been inundated with comments about that or if it's intentional, but I thought I'd point it out just in case before it goes public - Thank you again for sharing such an emotional and important story with all of us.

Kimmie

“If you could hear what I see”. Take from a very old movie about a site impaired man “if you could see what I hear”.

Barbara Binney

At first I was going to suggest calling it "The Sound of Silence," but then I figured people would expect it to be a Simon & Garfunkel cover. Plus, since you say right in the beginning of the video, "As you can probably tell from the title, it's about hearing loss," you can't get too cutesy with the title. It has to be called something that immediately makes you think of hearing loss. I think "Losing Your Hearing" works perfectly.

Bob Tompkins

May i suggest "Triumphant: Living with Hearing Loss". The video is a positive tribute to Kathy's dealing with, and living her best life with, hearing loss. It's such a positive message and I thought a positive title would reflect this encouraging story. Thank you to Kathy for her willingness to share this story and to both of you for being a source of encouragement as well as making our lives a little better with your musical work.

Rhonda & Anna

Kathy's story is about loss of hearing but her message is one of hope and encouragement regardless of what unexpected struggle one may face. Perhaps a broader title. "Listening to Yourself," "Hearing a Change" or "Listening for a New Path. " Or of course, you could always take a more comedic route with "Muting Geoff: Kathy's Story of Survival" :)

Gretchen G

How about: "WHAT?" A Story of Hearing Loss Starring Kathy Castellucci Featuring her husband Geoff (and a dinosaur)

Jake Morrow

I deal with severe hearing loss as well and am going back for another hearing test next week. One day, my hearing aids will have Bluetooth. Thank you for making this video as I feel seen. My family can completely relate to you. I liked your "not so fast, Fasty McFasterton" line. Your working title is straightforward, but if you want a secondary title, you could use "Hearing, No McHearington."

Nathan Baker

Losing your hearing is better than anything I can come up with. I am terrible at naming things.

Sarah Reach

I 100% agree that goofy puns are not the way to go with this one. I love the lighthearted elements in the video, but this is ultimately a serious topic and the title should help set that expectation.

Debbie Goodling

“Breaking… an Ear-itating update!”

Stacy K

Tell me a secret!

Sarah Reach

I'm mostly good with the working title, but I do like the idea of letting people know upfront in the title that this is about Kathy. "Losing Your Hearing: Kathy's Story" is how I would word it.

Tara Congo

Good point about the beginning of the video!

Tara Congo

I think I like that better than "Losing Your Hearing", although that works as well. Makes it immediately more positive than negative.

Rosie Boughen

Reading through the comments, and there are so many good points: I’m not sure about adding “Kathy’s journey” since the whole family is effected (affected?🤔) by it. Calling it “The Sound of Silence,” while cute, can definitely mislead people into thinking of a S&G cover, and with Kathy in the thumbnail, that would be a total tease! Honestly, “Losing Your Hearing” is simple, effective, and can reach more people. I wouldn’t worry if someone accidentally thinks the video is about “Geoff losing his hearing.” Maybe it’s a little clickbait-y, but that’s what YT needs for views anyways. Besides, he does mention his own hearing throughout the video, and reminds us to wear earplugs and be sound-safe, so it could also apply to his own hearing loss … prevention 😉. And Rhonda & Anna (above) had me giggling with simply “Muting Geoff.” 😁

Tine

"The unexpected benefits of hearing loss." Though I also like Losing Your Hearing. Very straightforward and to the point. I think it'd be good to emphasize the positive, as well as it might seem unexpected.. as well as people googling that might end up on your video.. Or approach it in a way such as, what did Kathy or someone else perhaps one day google, or which question does someone suffering from this, ask themselves.. I do want to say how much I like what you are doing here. You are doing this Patreon thing very very well😊

C Wyatt Johnson

HEARThe Silence -- intentionally no space before the T, to indicate "heart"

Angie Woollard

Good point. A title of “Losing Your Hearing” may induce momentary panic in the masses that Geoff is losing his hearing.

Gamesz

Losing your hearing is totally Fine. I think that Many people will watch without knowing you. And then it is ok and the right Titel. For the people who watch it, because its you, you can decide to shock them thinking its you or Tell them its kathys story or maybe journey additionally🤣

Hunter

“HUH? WHAT’D YOU SAY?”

Penny Cummings

"Biologically Predisposed To Ignoring People" :D

Barbara Binney

Oooohhh...yeah...I really like that.

Alisha Watson

Lost In Translation: Finding Hope With Hearing Loss.

Suzy Bailey

"Losing your hearing" is ok, but I worry it might put a few people off. As it is about Kathy's journey and a positive one at that, maybe "Hearing loss, a positive journey!" Or something akin to that! 👍💜

Tara Congo

Looking at your other two vlogs ("Baby Lucci: Our IVF Journey" and "Baby Lucci: Pregnancy Transformation"), you could keep the title for this one in the same sort of vein... Something like "Kathy Lucci: A Journey of Unexpected Hearing Loss". Don't know if that's particularly catchy, but it's another idea 😁

Stacy Tee

This is perfect IMO. I have seen their vlogs but never thought to tie it in as a "family oriented" docu-series for them! <3 <3 <3

Carol Franklin

Think the thumbnail implies it’s Geoff who’s having hearing problems, & it’s Kathy’s story so think Kathy should be in the title. Love Tara’s suggestion

eternalizzie

i think Living With Hearing Loss might be good, since it seems to me like kathy is offering her perspective on what its like to be a hearing impaired person. there are a lot of good suggestions here though!

Nana Koranteng

Maybe try something like” Listen and Learn”

Randiskye

I up voted Zayray!'s suggestion. It puts it simply and grabs one's attention considering you wouldn't have made a video about hearing if there were no issue.

Mardette

CAN I HEAR YOU NOW

Zachary Alvernaz

A phrase you said in the video stuck with me, and I commented about how appropriate it was: invisible disability. Something along the lines of "The Invisible Disability: Unexpected Hearing Loss" seems appropriate.

Alex Walker

I love the idea of the positive message! Just that word, triumphant, derailed my frail brain. Maybe use victory, or success?

Peter Gregg's Patreon Page

So many wonderful and fun titles on this one - starting with the most obvious Can You Hear me Now! Do You Hear What I Hear! The Sounds Of Silence Do You Want To Know A Secret? You’re Sleeping On The Couch Tonite! And my favorite - Wait’ll I Get My Haines On You!!! But I think a title that makes it fun but still draws people in is what is needed! My Wife’s Painful Hearing Loss My Beautiful Wife’s Painful Hearing Loss I still like - Wait’ll I Get My Haines On You :)

Michelle G

Looking at some of the suggestions above something like "Our Journey with Kathy's Hearing Loss" means you're telling people what the video is about, that it's Kathy who actually is experiencing the hearing loss, but that as a family you're on this journey together.

Amanda Hovendon

Living With Hearing Loss: Kathy’s Story

Karyn Morrison

I like this but think it's a touch too long. I would suggest "Kathy Lucci: Living with hearing loss"

Lisa Huff

Kathy’s hearing loss journey

Tine

Geoff, Kathy.. what might be very interesting for you to know. Although your video is not specifically focused on tinnitus.. the first full week of February(1-7) is the tinnitus awareness week! Do with that what you will, in terms of marketing and promotion. Can't hurt to let you know!😊❤

Lorraine Tellei

shorteris better. "Hearing Loss: Kathy's sory

Really straight suggestions: Listen Up (just 'cos Saddle Up! keeps ricocheting round my brain) You Need to Hear This

Standing on the shoulders of others here - Kathy & Geoff : Kathy's Hearing Loss Journey

Ruth Feiertag

The video is about so much more than hearing loss. It's also about acceptance, adjusting expectations, using humour to cope, finding meaning, and very, very much about the way the two of you love and support each other. I'm not good with coming up with titles, but I think one that reflects the other aspects of the video would be appropriate.

Gretchen G

The "Muting Geoff" thing is hilarious! 😄 But if somebody who didn't know anything about them read that title, it might sound like she's escaping an abusive relationship or something ("survival" gives that vibe too). That would be an unfortunate misunderstanding! 😅

Tracy Z

How about “Hear, Hear” or “Hear, Hear - how far we’ve come”?

Christian Luicke

"How please?" (That is the german variation😌)

Veronica Thunander

I thought about this too. Rhonda and Anna have some suggestions for a bit broader titles in the comments above.

DnD Addict

"Our journey with hearing loss" fairly neutral but with a bit more of a... This is not a lecture vibe. Honestly if I saw a post on youtube just called "Losing your hearing" I may not have bothered with it. Where as if someone I was following or looking into had a personal story to share I would be more inclined to watch. I hope that makes sense. The vid is all about your journey together and how it affects not only Kathy, but the whole family.

Viktoria Kovacs

"Sound and Silence", or "Sound to Silence"

Rachael Heidi

I see a lot of very good ideas here already. I wish I was more creative with words so I could pitch in but alas 🤔. I kind of like the idea of going for a funnier title, even though it's a serious topic.
