White text or light blue text? OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE THAT WOULD LOOK BETTER LIKE PERHAPS CLEAR TEXT!?

EDIT: THANKS FOR ALL THE FEEDBACK - I think i've cooked up something more better. We're premiering TOMORROW!

That third option...LMAO...methinks we nitpick too much in these polls...

Angie Woollard

So...the picture is pretty warm in tone, and both the white and blue are cool (and there's no blue in the picture) - what about a cream tone for the text?

Clint Frost

It might just be my eyes, but I can't see much of a difference. I would pick white for simplicities sake.

aethervox

My third option would be clear with white highlights and light blue shadows OR use a filter to make it look like ice with a thin outline of light blue to pop it out.

Robin P

I agree completely. But for the cream tone, due to the one shirt that is also a cream, maybe do a black border to make it pop.

ObscureReferenceWoman

I like the font that “White Christmas” is in, but not fond of the smaller font. Doesn’t quite go together. White text is fine, but maybe use the light blue as an outline? A great video deserves a great title card!

Amy Kutnerian

White text but put a black border around the letters so they don't mix in with the background

Christina Buchanan

Maybe outline the text with a darker color to make it pop?

Jacky Friedman

More gooder??? Ok then 😂 At least this time you put all the boys...ummm...guys in there😸 Love the picture you chose 💖 I love how you also give each of them their own personalities in your videos. Very cool 😎

Katherine Powell

Same. Without the options listed I was thinking I don't see any difference.

Amanda Nott

Maybe it's just me, but I can barely see a difference between the two images above, so I think you could do either. Of course, you could get really fancy and have a darker blue letter with what looks like white snow on the tops of each letter. :-)

Dexter R

Looks great overall! Politely I would also recommend adding a slightly thicker dark outline or drop shadow to the text so that the title can pop more easily/ be more legible at smaller sizes

Beth Walsh

Well...it is WHITE Christmas. When you do Blue Christmas, use the blue. But yeah maybe a thicker outline for the letters

Tiffpocalypse

I voted option 3 because it's a pretty busy background, and also fairly light colored, so more contrast is more gooder. :) I liked the Ghost Riders title card, it has a busy background but the title has a strong drop shadow AND an outline on the letters, so it's easy to read.

Katherine Powell

Or possibly a pastel sage green with a more defined border. But keeping it white makes sense too, since the piece is White Christmas.

Badger77722

I like these ideas! Outlining the text would really make it pop more, and the cream text with a black border sounds good. Or...maybe a dark red border, to match the "Christmas" theme a little more?

Sarah Reach

I think the white one is tone neutral enough to stand out without clashing, and even with a darker outline, I feel like cream would probably blend in too much with the cream shirt. I'd just keep it simple here and go with the first one.

Gretchen G

They both look nice. I'm too tired to have an opinion beyond that, so I'm just gonna chill and look forward to seeing what you decide on. It'll be great. 🙂

Paulene Thorne

I voted 'something else....' mainly because I suspect that's what Geoff has planned all along.

Tara Congo

Hordes of opinions incoming, as per usual 🤣 Definitely white, though I agree with others that the smaller font doesn't really match/pop. Needs a little more of a dark outline, I think. What about a cursive font for the "I'm dreaming" part? Maybe that's too hard to read in miniature; not sure.

Judy Wilde

At first I didn’t see much difference, but when glancing away and back, the white pops. I think it would pop more if White Christmas had a fuller font. (Not half stick figure)

Jacky Friedman

I chose option 1... Simple title for busy background. White. But after reading comments agree with a slightly darker highlight with the white. Lettering looks good to me. I also like the idea of instead of highlights put snow on the letters in light blue. I do alot of coloring in an app game. All the winter pictures use light blue for snow ❄️❄️🌨️❄️❄️🌨️❄️❄️🌨️❄️❄️🌨️❄️❄️🌨️ Don't care for the cream idea. Especially since it's "White Christmas". Maybe change the sizes of the words. "I'm Dreaming of a" a little bigger. "White Christmas " a little smaller.

Sarah Reach

LOL, Message received Geoff - We DO like to nitpick. Just remember - we tear it apart because we are invested in your success and want to set you up with the most clickable thumbnail possible! As much as I am tempted to vote for number 3 just to be contrary, I think Number 1 is a winner.

Mikki Fullerton

There is very little white or light blue anywhere else in the photo so my gut instinct was to say red, but the white pops very well for reading purposes so I'd stay with the white. This is also fitting, because the song is about a White Christmas and at least this way you've got some white *someplace* in there!

Angie Woollard

The cream doesn't have to be the same hue as the shirt...I guess I more meant just dial down the blinding white of the white. And, just as our eyes read that that sweater is white, making the font more of an off-white will also read as white. I just found the white in that example too mismatched with the tone of the photo. It could also be, it will come to a shock to no one, that I am overthinking this.

Ellen L Brownell

The white is okay. Blue? No. I'm voting for "more gooder" and let you decide.

Jacky Friedman

I agree. What I just commented are just suggestions. But I also feel that the combination of you, the background and the song itself will get you lots of views.

Shirley B Karr

White Christmas calls for a white font. But it definitely needs outlining -- a drop shadow or something to make it easy to read at thumbnail size against the cream sweater and the off-white wall in back. Love the font style for "White Christmas." Not sure about the other one. Nice change up that these are portraits instead of still shots from the video.

Mary Benno

I picked 2 bc it makes the letter stand out a bit more from Geoph’s cream colored sweater. Also, the clones are often doing the parts of high tenor, tenor, baritone/tenor 2, and the Geoff on bass. Which clone do we assign to which vocal range. Has this been done and I missed it? And then there’s Darryl……thoughts……

Mary Benno

I changed mine. I agree with gooder, please.

Anne Williamson

Wow! I'm in the minority--I voted for light blue. Whatever you do, it will be great.

Ann Durham

Like the white text but as others have said, needs a shadow. Not a big ffan of the font - would like something a bit more cursive and flowing (hmmm - not sure if the younger generation could read cursive)

Gamesz

Maybe think about First row in green, second row a thicker white

Lori Templeman

I like the white text for White Christmas, but the font looks a little too angular/art deco over a cozy, rustic style of photo.

Barbara Binney

I may be the odd person out here, but I'm not a fan of the mismatched fonts. I do like the font you used for "White Christmas." I just want "I'm Dreaming of a" in the same font. As for color, I definitely prefer the white over the blue. It just seems to pop more.

Barbara Binney

I'd love to hear him do Blue Christmas.

Mikki Fullerton

The text is good but there's some dude blocking the view of some of the Christmas decorations, can you make him clear? 🤣

Eileen Parkman

I like the white text better than the light blue, however I don't much care for the disconnect between the two font styles. It just doesn't flow properly. Also, these font choices don't necessarily match the tone of the photo behind them. They're rather start and "city" feeling, rather than the cozy, homey, "country" feel of the photo.

Helen I Kirk

I voted for the white, it pops! However, I would be open to a different font. Also, the top "I'm Dreaming Of A" text needs to be outlined in black to make it easier to see (and maybe put in italics).

Lexy Wolfe (aka Pam)

The image is creams and other warmer colors, so the white stands out more. Not sure I'm a fan of the font itself, though. But you don't want too complicated else it's harder to read when it is in smol thumbnail. I can't think of a style font that'd be better.

Jordi S

White is better than blue but I voted for do something more gooder

Jill Weimer Koeninger 🐉

Do one font style. Needs to be a font with a "cozier" look but I do agree that the white stands out better. A little larger size for top line and a little smaller size for the title. You can also have a black border to the letters that is a squosh thicker. It would define the words better.

SunnyOutlook

I like the white text and agree with others about not having two different fonts. Maybe a more "curvier" font that might reflect the softness of quiet snowflakes drifting down. Whatever the final thumbnail is, it will be wonderful!

Tine

Also side note; I really like that these are embedded in the post. That's a very gooder thing that you did

Crisstina Joubert

The white just stands out...much like your voice!

Lethe

Well, BASS text of course.

Janet Towles

I like the white... I suggest adding a bit of a drop shadow, that'll make it pop even more.

Debs Badger

Neither one grabs me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ashley Evers

A black border around white (or off-white) lettering is always a good idea.

Ashley Evers

Whenever you put all of the Geoffettes in the thumbnail, I worry that the details get too small. A really good thumbnail needs to be able to peak your interest when it's less than an inch and a half wide. You have access to your analytics, so maybe I'm totally wrong, but my instinct is that you are better off with more zoomed in/more dynamic shots. Best case scenario is if it makes you think "What is going on in that picture?"

Susan Zoe Bella

I agree with those who say do gooder. Font is too big and blocky. It should be script with shimmer like snow. Other than that, you look handsome as always. :)

Pat R

I like that font OK but I also like the idea of it being a clear font with just the outlines of the letters.

Suzy Bailey

I like the white font but something a little less angular, with a softer more cozy feel, so just a little do gooder please! 👍💜

Jacklinka

Light blue is betterer (sic!) than white at least on a mobile, but both are not contrasted enough, sort of light on light. And yes, the font can be cuter and you can even add a sort of Christmas decorations to the font, trees, gift boxes and candies.

Sarah Skinner

White, blue, whatever - BUT the two fonts don't go together. The 'White Christmas' is in a 20's artsy style; the rest is too modern, blocky and boring. Love all the rest, though!

Sandra JB

I can only see the white on the thumbnails so can't compare the two, but I do notice that the white letters of DRE get washed out into the white sweater behind it. The top thumbnail does appear sharper than the bottom one and the colors are more vivid. Between these two I would choose the top one.

Sarah Borzelli

I agree with most people about the font beeing maybe a little too big because it feels like not to be right in the golden section. (sorry my husband is artist/painter) white is sure better because there isn't other blue things matching, although I would maybe go for a little more warm white to match the overall mood.

Jen Fraley

which one is white and which one is blue? They both look white to me.

Veronica Thunander

I can't see the difference between them? They both look white to me. Voted for the white one anyways.

Coda

The color balance of your screen may be off, it was for me :)
