Here's a glimpse into just how long it takes to film a very simple video like this one. Another huge thanks to the whole team involved.

OH, and just a heads up, I'm hoping that the public release will still happen tomorrow, BUT the music distributor has not sent the audio out to the streaming platforms yet, so I may have to delay the video release.

Let's cross our collective fingers and toenails that it will magically show up in the next 24 hours. I'll try to keep you guys posted.

Thanks for everything!

Thank you for taking the time to put this together for us to see

Ellen Reiser

You are getting a lot of use out of that piano you bought. What did we do before that? People do love seeing you play. Oh and i see now why you keep the watch on. Not for the tan line but love of your family ❤️❤️❤️

Ashbii

Thanks for the BTS, it's always a huge boost to my day. Loved getting to see you guys work. Also, all the things crossed in hopes of getting the video out tomorrow!

Jacky Friedman

Y'all had lots of issues but the end result is absolutely beautiful. Hope you get the video back in time to release it on YouTube. Love ya's ❤️

Mikki Fullerton

I loved the 'classified info' box, that made me laugh. Bummer about missing out on the interpretative dance this time but you know there's always the next video Kathy! ;) Glad the time for that extra last shot turned out to be worthwhile. Thank you for another entertaining and even occasionally educational BTS. Here's hoping you'll be able to make the anniversary day release for SoS, but if not the world will just have to wait a bit longer.

Alex Sage

Thank you for giving us content to make our days all the better. fingers and toes crossed for tomorrows release.

Sarah Borzelli

The masters at work: Geoff with the clear and wonderful ideas, Kathy has everything under control 'I have it written down', Eli is a magician of lights, and Layne did a wonderful job on the cam! Thanks for the great BTS! I cross everything I have - because how clever is it to drop this tomorrow on the 59th anniversary of the first composition recorded of 'Sound of Silence' by Simon! You have to stand on the distributor's feet and make them pressure! And hey, I want to let you know, that we are here with you, sending you all our good thoughts and power for the public release. Hopefully the public will appreciate this astounding cover in the best possible way - you deserve all the love and the views and streams!

María Gabriela

What a wonderful way to wake up. Thanks Geoff! 💖

Pat R

Thank you for sharing the behind the scenes session with us. It was a lot of fun to watch. Crossing fingers, toes and anything else I can cross that the video gets released when you want it to.

Huldra Draco

Thanks so much, Geoff and Kathy ♥️ I so enjoy these BTS video's! Getting to see the work that goes into making a video like this is so fascinating, and seeing Eli's lighting work in development is super fascinating! Glad you didn't hurt yourself too badly, Geoff. Gotta be careful with that back of yours! I know what hell it is to live with back pain. Layne did a great job with the camera! And last but not least, thank you Kathy for filming all this amazing BTS content and making these for us. They are one of the highlights of my month ♥️♥️♥️

Patricia Schuman

You know, we have often wondered why the audio appearing on the streaming platforms always seemed to appear before the video, and there was speculation that it was just due to what time (and time zone) zone the audio release gets automatically scheduled for. We seem to have assumed it was that you could only specify what date the audio would appear, but were able to control and schedule the video release premiere time. But I don't think that anyone ever realized that you depend on the release of the audio to the streaming services to signal that all is ok with the distribution rights to go ahead with the video premiere. I therefore have to especially thank you for trusting us with the 'early patreon release' of the video.

Laura Harris

Maybe we should be pitching in to get you a new stool for the next one! Love these BTS, thanks for the laugh – always interesting to see the work that goes into making these. Everything crossed for the public release (hopefully) happening tomorrow... I've spent the past week lamenting over not being able to show my friends and family yet.

Gillian Drysdale

when you know someone inside out you can just say it needs more whoooop and they know exactly what you want that’s awesome! thanks so much it was fun and interesting to watch love you all to bits! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️

Angie Woollard

WOW! Yes, you're right - I would have never thought that such a 'simple' video would require so much work! Layne calming you down with a tiny apple juice and a cracker made me laugh. My takeaway from this BTS is, once again, how you all operate so incredibly smoothly as a team, as a family. Eli's lighting suggestions, Layne's camerawork - I'm, as always, in awe of your collective dynamic. It's an absolute joy to see.

Amanda Nott

This kind of thing gives me such an appreciation for all of the little (and big) things that go into producing a video, even one so seemingly simple! Everyone did a great job from what I can tell! Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to the final result!

ZAYRAY!

Nice tattoo Eli!

ZAYRAY!

It’s very MMT… 👀

Alison L

Thank you for the time you all put in to make these videos. The music is fantastic but with the video added it just becomes so much more.

Arlene Jacobs

Just love seeing all the BTS and all your creative juices flowing!!! Great team you have there with everyone pitching in and thank goodness you didn’t fall off the stool while playing the piano. And I just noticed Eli got a tattoo!! Looks awesome!!

Kaleigh Henderson

I also couldn't help but notice the leather armor behind him as well!

Lady D Richter

It is absolutely crazy how the seemingly simplest shoots take forever! My first time working in a local TV studio, I was a cue card holder. We were working on a 30 commercial, and it took over SIX HOURS! Anyway, as always, y'all did an amazing job! Absolute beauty in the simplicity!

Amanda Hovendon

The masters at work. Man I love seeing how these amazing videos are put together. And Geoff are you okay after that little fall? Glad Layne was there to make you feel better lol

Candace Berg

You guys have such a great chemistry together. Friendship is precious and I'm so glad you guys have kept yours for so long.

Katherine Powell

Not the interpretive dance being cut! Oh well, maybe next time, Kathy? :D I'm crossing everything I can that the audio gets sent. I can't wait for the collective public to see this one. As usual, thanks for taking the time to put together the BTS for us. It's always a treat.

Badger77722

I always love seeing BTS of anything - videos, movies, TV shows - anything where I don't really have a clue as to just how complicated something that looks "simple" can turn out to be to accomplish. You have an amazing group of friends and colleagues helping you out, and I hope they realize just how much they are also appreciated in making something like this.

Jay Fritz

Thanks so much for putting this BTS together. I can see the work, but it's pretty clear how much love goes into these things, too. You are such a wonderful group of folks, and you really create beautiful things.

Tine

Oh this was SO lovely to see, thank you so much. I really enjoyed this BTS! Isn't it incredible how such a simple seeming video has so many moving parts? It was really cool to see Layne and Eli helping you out as well. Super fascinating to me. I am also very glad you didn't get hurt too badly! Who knew a poorly welded stool chair would be part of the physical risks of being a singer and arranger.

Dawn Ours

Glad your Butt is ok ! You need a Chair tester from now on *chuckle. I love seeing BTS because I like learning stuff (I can't pull off Forest Gump) Sounds wonderful in the rough so I have complete confidence that it will be beyond Outstanding when finished.

SunnyOutlook

I love these behind the scenes so much. It's amazing to see how ideas grow into something so amazing. My favorite part was the phone call and hearing a son tell his dad "love you." Can't wait for the premier whenever it is. Thank you for sharing and allowing us to be a part of something so beautiful.

Kaleigh Henderson

A couple people have pointed out Eli's tattoo but LAYNE HAS ONE TOO, on his hand! Combined with the leather and fur costumes in the background... I am SOOO excited to see [Classified info]!

Alex Walker

It's heartwarming to see the loving bond between all of you! It doesn't matter if it's VP or just Geoff, you're always there supporting and helping each other! Fingers and toes crossed that it can still happen tomorrow!

Amanda W

All I can say is, "Thank god for snacks!" And, thank you for the BTS. I always love seeing these.

Tara Congo

It's risky business, being a performer! Those chairs are out to get ya. Maybe you need danger pay. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!! It's incredible how much work goes into the whole process, but I hope you know how much we appreciate the effort and your commitment to excellence. As ever, proud to be a patron ❤

Kaleigh Henderson

Further analyzing Layne's and Eli's tattoos, Eli's is the EXACT SAME as his MMTM tattoo, the Viking rune tónlist, which means music. I'm pretty sure Layne's are two runes, uruz and perth, which, guess what, are the Viking letters for "v" and "p." And looking at the costumes we can see in the background, I can definitely spot Jose's beige cloak and Layne's furry jacket from MMTM... WE'RE GETTING ANOTHER VIKING SONG Y'ALL!!! Oh my day has been made and the end of the month can't get here soon enough!

Karin Wolf

So glad you didn't sprain or crack anything. Those drops to sudden stops are dangerous! Please stay safe...

Erma Payne

So fascinating to watch how this all comes together. It's so wonderful seeing how everyone pitches in to make it happen. What a great team you have. Everything you do is awesome!

Bonnie Kaupp

Thanks so much for the BTS. I love seeing how you 'get there'. And to see Layne and Eli, and yes, Kathy 🙂 so involved. A true 'family'. As a mother to grown sons I love when they sign off as you did with your Dad. 🤗 Can't wait for the release.

Amy Petty

Ya know...we're all 100% happy that you didn't really get hurt from falling off the stool, but...we definitely would also have appreciated seeing footage of that. Just sayin'.

Patricia Schuman

I've heard it said that bass voices are capable of loosening screws, causing furniture to fall apart and pictures to come crashing down off of the wall to the floor. Guess Geoff's bass is powerful enough to cut through welding...

Hunter

Thank you Kathy for all the behind the scenes footage! This was awesome! Everyone did such an amazing job! (P.s. Hope Geoff’s bum is okay.

Georgia

I keep wanting to know, yet forget to ask, how often do you just glance at Layne or Eli while filming, burst out laughing and ruin an entire shot? If I were in your position I would not be able to keep it together

Dee Years

I loved watch the behind the scenes! A question I’ve had on my mind since hearing about Kathy’s hearing loss when I first found you, was she treated and can she hear ok now? Thanks 😊 Love ya Geoff.

Gretchen G

Thanks so much for the bts Kathy and Geoff! And you're welcome for the light, lol. 😁 Maybe the loose stool was just Geoff's gastric distress manifesting in an odd way. (Get it? Loose stool? I'll see myself out.)

Amy Petty

lol. It really wasn't that serious. No need to take it that way.

Janet Wright

I love Geoff’s explanation of how the lighting should come up. Instead of whoop it should be whoooooooop. 🤣 As opposed to whoops when the stool broke🤕

Georgia Oliver

This was a great bts! it is bad that i wish to see geoff falling? does that make me a bad person hahaha

Chere' Evans

So informative. Amazing how much work this was. Thank you for sharing.

Metaz

I love the BTS videos but I would also love to see an "documentary" with intervjus with all the people that worked on the video and/or voiceovers during their work.

Cyana Maize

Wow. Singers being techs. Hats off to the talent. Also to the techs being techs🥴

Sandy Mrotek

As I have said before - BTS videos are great. I love to see what all you have to do to accomplish it and all the talent of each of you and what you bring to the take. It is amazing. All of you are so great at what you do and then you combine the talent to make this. Thank you so very much for letting us into all it takes.

Carol Franklin

These are always fascinating, even the ‘simplest’ videos are so involved. I love that Geoff, Eli & Layne have known each other long enough to understand shorthand speak. Brilliant final product as always. Here’s to the next one!

Christine Stromberg

It always astounds me just how much work it takes to do one of these videos. It's incredible. We can't think you enough for what you put yourselves through to entertain us. Really. We are so grateful. And we love you all.

Tracie Schlaak

How fun was that? Thanks for sharing!!

Maryse B

I love seeing behind the scenes. all the technicality behind the video makes me trip. Thank you so much for sharing these moments.

Tema Krempley

I really loved seeing the bts for this song. The Sound of Silence is one my favorite songs. Of all of your covers, it's the one I listen to the most. I grew up with the piano music in our house and I would occasionally play it. I am so glad you put your own spin on it! It is blasphemy to say I think your version is better than the original?

Annett Günther

Ich weiß, wie viel Arbeit das ist, habe mal in der Eventbranche gearbeitet. Es ist echt interessant und sehr schön, wie ihr alle so ruhig und im Einklang miteinander arbeitet. Vielen, vielen Dank dafür an euch alle!!! Ein großartiges Lied und Video. LG

Felicity McDonald

It's fun seeing people in the comments here theorizing about Eli's tattoo, meanwhile I'm watching this with hindsight, and as soon as Kathy was talking about what they had just been filming and how "Classified Information" had been like a 12-hour shoot, I guessed Valhalla Calling just based on timelines and stuff, and Eli's "tattoo" immediately confirmed it for me!

Helen D

This is one of my favourites

Susana

I'm here in 2026 watching it again... The Sound of silence is a very important song for me. And the beginning: 'hello darkness my old friend' has a special meaning (because of my bipolarity). Thanks to a great friend of your patrons, I was give as a gift the Mug with those words. For me, being in Argentina, it would have been impossible to buy it. I know nobody will read this comment (and I know Geoff doesn't read these things), but I just wanted to write how much I love this video, your version, and as I always say: thanks for sharing your voice with all of us.

Jen

So interesting to see how everyone contributed on this. Great job 👏
