There are probably MANY others that I've left out here, so let me know if I've missed someone REALLY important. ENJOY!

BTW my personal fav on this list is "Yes, we have no bananas" feat Thurl Ravenscroft. Just try not to grin when he starts singing. Hot damn.

Excellent choices, all. When are you going to do Sixty Minute Man?!

Angie Woollard

I really love that you share your playlists with us. I've been a bass fan all my life (voice and instruments), and I'm always looking for new music for my earholes. Thanks a billion! That Take 6 album was my first ever exposure to a cappella. I remember so distinctly the feeling I got when I heard it for the first time - complete and utter amazement, chills and goosebumps, tears even. "Mary" is a masterpiece.

Rachel Blackthorne

Oooh excited to listen to this! Wonder if it will inspire me as much as my own bass-esque playlist that I listen to while writing...

Mikki Fullerton

Thank you for sharing, I love exploring for new artists and rediscovering old favorites both. I appreciate these playlists!

Amanda Hovendon

Omg Champagne Taste(On a Beer Budget) yes! Lol. Thank you for sharing these Geoff❤️❤️❤️

Kaleigh Henderson

Hey Little Songbird cover pleeease and thank you! Love that song and I’ve been imagining you as Hades forever!

Ellen Reiser

Surprised Randy Travis didn’t make the list since you just did his song as a mini. And i’d put Barry White on there. Something about his voice makes me swoon.

Tine

Oooo, thank you so much for sharing Geoff! I really really enjoy these playlists from you.

Alex Sage

Oooo, always love hearing your music taste to help broaden mine. (Won’t change that you’re my favorite though)

Angie Woollard

If you mean 'Your Man', that's a Josh Turner tune.

Amanda Nott

I look forward to listening to it! However, I think you need to add some Avi Kaplan to that list! :-) Thanks for sharing!

Ellen Reiser

Oh good to know. I was only familiar with Randy’s version. Funny how the first one you hear sticks with you. I’ll listen to Josh.

Debs Badger

I didn't know Randy covered "Your Man." I'm familiar with his similarly titled "I'm Your Man," though...

Debs Badger

This is a fun list! Thank you for sharing! We shared our own bass-centric songlists with each other on the Discord after you had mentioned you would be sharing yours with us, and I am amused that I selected the same Johnny Cash and Richard Bob Greene tracks that you did. 😁

Susan Edwards

Do you know k d Lang? My passion! Listen to My Old Addiction on the album Drag.

Candace Berg

Do you have a favorite low female voice Playlist? I am a woman with an incredibly low singing voice and always love to hear other women who can sing low. I'm in a choir and I sing tenor and baritone parts because we only have one man in our group. My range is from like a C3 to about a G5. I can hit a B2 on a good day and once when I was sick I managed an A2, but that was like a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

Angie Woollard

I'm also a bass in my chorus! One of my favourite low-voiced female singers is Diana Krall.

Candace Berg

Thanks for chiming in! I love that I'm not alone out here as a deep-voiced female singer. I will definitely check her out.

Sarah Borzelli

thank you so much for this goodie Geoff! I love love love 'Hey Little Songbird' - that would be a nice one for you to cover!

MPL

Don't have anyone not mentioned yet. I am partial to my husband's uncle. He is classically trained and worked in the choir of the Royal opera in Denmark. But he has also worked on musical productions. Did NOT need the lapel mic when doing parts in Phantom of the Opera, like all the other performers. But Denmark being so small, there isn't really many people who know him.

Laura Harris

Was hoping we'd get another one of these! Thanks for adding a couple new songs to my playlists.

Dawn Ours

You forgot Avi Kaplan ! I know you like him and the scuttlebutt is he would like to collab. with you and Mr. What The Foust Tim from HF sooooo? ? !

Tine

I really liked your list that you shared Debs! I think it was wonderful that Angie spurred us all on to share our lists, inspired by Geoff of course🥰

Debs Badger

Thanks Tine! I enjoyed yours as well! Even added a few tracks to my playlists! 😁

Tine

Oh awesome! I did as well from yours!😊

Tara Congo

Thanks for sharing this!! Looking forward to listening later 😁 Just to balance things out with at least one lower female voice, I have to suggest London Grammar. I just adore her ♥ Wasting My Young Years and her Wicked Game cover are gorgeous (also, I love that you have Matt Fouch's God's Gonna Cut You Down on there. I saw that video on YouTube a couple of years ago and thought he did an amazing job. Had a small interaction with him in the comments on one of his videos around then and he seems like the sweetest, classiest dude)

Pat R

I loved every second of those 27 songs, some of the songs were not favorites of mine but they were still like ear candy. One thing I'm curious about though: Song# 22? I'm a female and I can sing higher than I've EVER heard Prince get to. LOL Thank you SO MUCH for giving me a new addition to MY favorite playlists.

Angie Woollard

I really love this project so much!! It's one of my all-time favourite things, to find new music, and seeing what others with similar tastes are listening to is the perfect way to do that.

Amy Petty

I have a question for you, Geoff. I'm sure that for many fans it just seems natural to assume that a bass singer (or a baritone with a bass range as you've described yourself) must obviously be into other bassists. But do you ever feel typecast or pigeonholed? Like you ever just want to respond with "hey, I'm not just all about that bass - I like tenors and sopranos, too!"

Tine

I agree, was a wonderful idea you put forward, Angie ♥

Sandra Ni

There already were some major earthquakes in the last weeks no need for more ;)

Dawn Ours

Right 😂👍😊 no lives in CA *chuckle

Cat

Hans Thessink (my favorite is Living in the Fast Lane).

Grace Files

Thank you so much for sharing this Geoff! I'll have to listen through it later.

Nathan Baker

Get Away, Jordan is the first song I ever fell in love with.

Karen Grace

Tennessee Ernie Ford is who made me fall in love with deep voices. My Dad would play his music so I started young.

Huldra Draco

Thanks you so much for sharing this, Geoff! I truly love these playlists you share. Discovering new artists is always fun, and also discovering what kind of music/artists you enjoy is also super interesting! Truly appreciate it ❤

Sarah Borzelli

It's a fun project indeed! Thank you Geoff and Angie for starting this and thank y'all for sharing your fav musics!

Shannon D

I finally peeled my ears off of Sound of Silence long enough to listen to this list, and it's pretty great. I especially enjoy the old ones, and the gospel music. My dad was in a little gospel quartet so those always remind me of him 🥲. But the real gem here is Yes, We Have No Bananas, I love it!

Brontesaurus Rex

Ooooo, I actually know stuff on this one! Colm 💜💜💜

Mikki Fullerton

Just finally got a good, long listen. I hadn't realized Tim had done Champagne Taste on his own with instrumentals before, I'd only heard the a cappella version from Home Free's Crazy Life album before. The fiddle in the solo version on your list was a cool touch! Love that overall Take 6 sound, and the Sixty Minute Man song has always been a fun one. Good Johnny Cash pick, I've always like those little growls he puts on some of the words. Josh Turner has such a nice, clear voice too. Again, thank you for sharing!

Mimsically

When I hit choral age (14, or whatever age you begin high school/secondary school, I was a mezzo soprano/contralto (around about G/F 3 on a good day to D/E 5 also on a good day) and got into Fancy Music School because i wanted to teach that age group choir...and then some stuff happened and then some more stuff happened after that and now I'm a freak of nature that I'm calling "contrabaritone"whereas there isn't really a musical term for it. (E/D2 - G/A4) Join us, won't you, in the "Baritones With Boobies" club. Cake and coffee every Friday.

Candace Berg

I like that name. You can always rope me in with alliteration! I'll gladly join 😆

Karen & Lauren

I'm a little surprised to not see Arnold Robinson or James Hayes on that list.

Ashley Evers

If I start seeing evidence that you like Josh Turner, I’m going to start requesting “The Longer the Waiting, the Sweeter the Kiss.” I don’t know if anyone else has ever heard of it, but it’s my favorite of his :D

Sarah Reach

I love Tim's backstory to that song. He wrote it before joining Home Free because his mentor/sponsor wanted him to write country songs which he was very resistant towards. So he wrote Champange Taste as the most stereotypical, caricature like country song he could manage basically out of spite, and it ended up becoming his most successful original song.

Mikki Fullerton

I saw the interview where he talked about why he wrote it, but I didn't connect the timeline with it being before Home Free, thanks!

Eileen Parkman

Perhaps check out music by Paul Robeson. Classic American songs, for the most part.

AmbularD

There is a Tennessee Ernie Ford song called Little Gray Donkey. The very specific version I've loved since I was a little girl before you were born, was released to my knowledge only on an LP called Sing We Now of Christmas--it never came out on tape or CD, and the one currently available on Spotify is not the same. After I lost my parents' copy of that album, I searched for years and years in vain, and finally found a copy from the record uploaded on YouTube. A few years ago I located a copy of the record itself, and my husband found me a portable record player just so I could play that one song.

Larry Haynes

If you haven't already sir, you should check out The Fairfield Four with Isaac "Dickie" Freeman on bass. He has passed on now, but my word what a voice! Love your list, especially glad to see George Younce and Tim Riley included. Thanks for sharing!
