A mysterious stranger appears at your door and makes this offer: you will receive ten million dollars now, but every day for the rest of your life you must roll a D20 and eat that many hot dogs in the next 24 hours. Do you accept?!? Why or why not?!?!?

A game i gave a second chance to was Witcher 3 the first time i tried nothing really clicked but i ended up going back to it after a few hours and then sunk in like 200 hours between all the DLC and a second playthrough.

Greetings Minnmaxers, What’s your comfort game this year? We know that Mr Huber is probably going for a Shinji Mikami title! I found as life feels so busy sometimes, it’s nice to go back to Jak and Daxter for the coziness. Do you always go to the same game or genre for comfort?

Joe Kafchinski

I'm old enough now that I don't really get FOMO much any more, but, man, was I jealous watching the live streams of the path of totality for the eclipse on Monday. What a cool moment. I guess you can take this two directions: anyone on the show have any fun eclipse experiences? And/or what do the cohorts still get FOMO over?

Tommy Carver-Chaplin

Hi Maxers. Do you think you’ve eaten in video games more times than you’ve eaten in real life?

Hey friends, What’s your favorite “ticket” game at an arcade? As in a game where you try to earn tickets toward prizes, like skiiball. Any memorable prizes you’ve won with tickets at an arcade like this?

Omri Curnutte

What’s the silliest or laziest reason you’ve ever put a game on hold? Me personally, I’m approaching the end of Persona 3 Reload on my Xbox Series S but we recently had a tornado warning and I unplugged it to bring it to my basement. Now, it won’t output on my smart tv anymore for some reason and I kinda just wanna move on instead of troubleshoot more than I already have. A bit silly, though, cause in fairness I have a much smaller (lower resolution) tv that it works fine on!

Andrew Lyman

This question is for Janet, how surprising/difficult was your first year of teaching? Also, do you or anyone on the podcast get fulfillment from teaching still? Then my game I am happy I revisited is Horizon Zero Dawn. Didn’t work the first time, but went back in 2020 and had a great time. I think it was just a pandemic game with more time on my hands. Have a good one!

Christian Jimenez

Hello, Where is Star Wars Eclipse?! Wouldn't it have been the perfect week (day) to announce or show more? Also how did you all experience the eclipse? Thanks.

Bloody Waffle

for Huber: After all of these years, what has kept you going with the Easy allies crew? Do you have any plans to be independent like Kyle or jump ship to MinnMax 😉?

Second chance game: Bloodborne. I thought Fromsoft games would never be for me after about 30 minutes into first picking it up and putting it back down. A few years later, I returned to Yharnam for a second attempt and was suddenly awash with the insight necessary to recognize the game as the masterpiece that it is.

HaulingGas

In the same spirit as games you're glad you gave a second chance, what about games you're glad you gave a chance at all? Recently I started playing Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, despite the steam reviews saying the game is all about combat. I don't care much about combat in games, and I've been pleasantly surprised over how immersive the game is and how much I enjoy just existing and role-playing in its world.

JTDenton

My favorite game I game a second chance to is Prey! I don't typically do well with horror games, and in this one I was particularly freaked out by the mimics, which will disguise themselves as scenery props and attack you if you get too close. Eventually, I got so stressed out by not knowing which objects were mimics that I quit the game entirely. Later, after describing the point at which I had stopped playing to a friend, he informed me that I had quit literally about ten feet away from the item that lets you see mimics. Went back in with a new build and was very glad I did!

Thom Blackburn

I think the obvious second chance game is cyberpunk 2077. Now it has less bugs than Skyrim and has improved its progression. It always had good writing, but nobody wants to fight through crashes to see it.

Bryan Tylec

What’s a product you think deserves the Oops! All Berries treatment?

SuperCerberus

I’m really glad that I gave Mass Effect a second chance. I was bored to death aimlessly walking around the citadel in the first few hours, so I dropped the game for a few weeks. When I came back, I quickly got over that hump and fell in love. Now it’s one of my favorite series of all time.

Matthew Byerwalter

What's your favorite game where a subsequent playthrough will never match the first? I love playing through the Phoenix Wright series every so often but knowing all of the major twists and turns going in means I'll never get that same "oh my gosh" reaction that I got on the first go.

Jarell Pryor

Hey folks, I'm going on paternity leave next month, and was wondering if you had any tips? With JeffM now on round 2 of this. Ben, what might you plan differently if you were to do it again? Line up some "chicken nugget" games to play between feedings? Chip away at a big backlog game? Plan small house tasks to listen to podcasts while working? Am I just kidding myself thinking that I can plan any of those days ahead of time? 😅

RickyWinterborn

Are you happy with the time you were born or do you wish you were born at a different time? 1970s? 2077? 1899? My dad is 76 and he's always like i'm so happy I was born early enough to experience the 60s! Now the worlds going to shit and I'm chilling on social security and watching 10 in 1 DVD collections.

Robert Sullivan

Min max, have there ever been actors of voice actors you’ve been excited to meet? In may I get to meet Cameron Monaghan and add his signature to my ever growing Star Wars collection

Alex McMillan

Heya MinnMax! I currently work as a quiz writer and challenge designer for game shows in the UK. I think game shows are an oft-overlooked part of gaming as a whole, they are mechanically fascinating and can share a surprising amount of design philosophy with video games. Given we have two Trivia Tower hosts on the panel, my question to you is there any game show or reality show you’d like to be a contestant on, and how do you think you’d fare? - Alex McMillan, Northern Ireland P.S. If you’re looking for recommendations, check out the British quiz ‘Only Connect’ (which NYT got the idea for Connections from) and the Belgian reality series ‘De Mol’ (which is the original and best version of The Mole)

Alex Britt

Are there any vocab words you learned from video games youve used in real life and someone didn't know the word? I used harbinger at my office job once and got a blank stare.

Dan from Canada

Tread carefully here but what’s the worst spoiler that’s happened to you and what’s the worst spoiler you have done for someone else ?

Hey Minnmax crew! How much time needs to pass before we can consider a game a classic?

MinnMax, what are your favorite types of clouds? Christian Donlan at Eurogamer wrote a long piece about clouds in video games, and I’ve caught myself looking up more!

umryan

Missed joke opportunity, last episode Kyle was reminiscing about watching fart videos with Ben and crying laughing, to which Ben described as "highfalutin nonsense", but then Leo should've cut in and said "more like high Flatulent nonsense"

Phelix Diaz

Do you think eclipses are the reason ancient civilizations worshipped the Sun. Imagine being a caveperson looking at the sky and there's this crazy ominous flare octopus in the sky and later on half of your village is partially blind. Also I'm glad I gave Subnautica a second chance, it's now in my Top 10.

Sam Kennedy

Be honest: if you lived in the year 1300, would you stare directly at an eclipse?

Dan from Canada

Oh forgot to share my second chance game: metal gear solid 4. I bought into the hype for ps3 despite never playing a game in the series and had no clue what was going on just smoking monkeys and long loads. Played in 2022 after playing through entire series and it was amazing experience (helps that they patched the loads in 2012 to let you install entire game)

Rikimaru

Hey MinnMax! What was up with game series dropping the number after their 3rd entry? Fallout 3 to New Vegas Gears of War 3 to Judgment God of War 3 to Ascension Grand Theft Auto III to Vice City + San Andreas Guitar Hero III to World Tour Halo 3 to ODST + Reach Mass Effect 3 to Andromeda Super Mario Bros. 3 to World Some of these series went on to have an official "4" later on, but was 3 just a good time to wrap up or reboot a series? Is the number 4 bad luck? Thanks!

Aging_Poorly

A weird astrological thing happened, and for the rest of your life, you only get to experience two months, back-and-forth, forever. Holidays and "normal" weather for those months will repeat, and you lose the other ten months. What two months are you choosing? I’d take May and October, even though I’d really miss the winter holidays.

What is the most annoying animal sound? Is it that bird outside of your window in the morning? A little yip-yap barking dog? A screaming sheep?

Alex Vavouyios

If you were thrown out into the Fallout wasteland after growing up and living your entire life in a vault, what is the first thing you would do? You have to consider all factors as if it’s real! You cannot go back into the vault.

Hello minnmax. One game I’m glad I given another chance was Pentiment. I’m a huge fan of Obsidian and their games, so I was excited to played it. When I did played it I had a very hard time even reading the game. Because of handwriting from the characters. I didn’t want to switch to the “simple text” option because I wanted to keep it as the creative intent of the game. But I had put it down from frustration because of the handwritten text . But after hearing Leo had the same experience and enjoy the game after switching to that mode, I conceited and played in simple text. I’m glad I did because I would have missed out on this wonderful story. A story that made me gasp out loud in Act 3 of that game. Edit: No Clip just did a documentary on Pentiment.

Marty

A game I'm happy I revisited is Dark Souls 2, specifically the Scholar of the First Sin edition. I tried it around 5 years ago and hate the way it felt, especially coming off a recent playthrough of Dark Souls 3. But during a lull last fall, I decided to return to Dark Souls 2 and am glad I did.I still didn't LOVE it, but someone invaded my game only to drop a bunch of helpful gear and items, which allowed me to improve my Agility and therefore improve my roll—and my overall enjoyment of the game. I don't know who that person is or why they did it, but they inspired me to see the game through to the end. Also, Majula's music is incredible.

Shakenbake67

Hey Minnmax Recently Ben’s take of the Jurassic park line has gone viral on Twitter due to Jeff Grubb. My question is for Ben and anyone else, How does it feel when you are part of a viral moment and what do you do? And also Ben, is Jeff Grubb your mortal enemy this is the second time he’s gotten you viral off twitter. The infamous VGC ad moment is something I think about on the daily and laugh about

PhillyYeetSteak

Two games I'm glad i gave a second chance were Gotham Knights and The Division. Gotham Knights came to ps+ at just the right time for my friend group and surprised us with how much we enjoyed its campaign. I picked up my save file in Division 2 years after finishing it, and had a blast in ng+ and even bought the new york expansion.

Fatt Mish

Hi MinnMax. Is the synthesizer an actual musical instrument?

dingus2k

A game I’m really glad I returned to is Red Dead 2. I played it on release and basically just sped through the second half to get to the end. I was playing games differently then since I was still in college. i traded it in when I was done so I could buy whatever big title was releasing next. Then a couple years passed, i played some of the online with friends, and i was itching to return to it (especially after watching Jacob’s video) Now I’m on a third play through and it’s one of my absolute favorite games of all time. I barely fast travel, i lean completely into the role playing experience, and i cherish its story and characters.

What fast food item would be made better at another fast food restaurant? PatrickG

Malcolm Holliday

Hey MinnMax, I recently saw a House of the Gundead arcade cabinet, it was pretty cool seeing a brand new arcade cabinet. The light gun format is tough to replicate at home too, any unique arcade experiences you really value? Any you think could thrive we a brand new game?

Luca Alberti

Hello MinnMax crew, are puzzle games underrated nowadays? I feel like most people brush them off unless they go viral (thinking about Suika Game) and even highly praised titles like HUMANITY and Talos Principle 2 seem to be relegated to niche audiences, I guess Professor Layton once fit the middle ground of puzzle games but there's a reason why the series was on hiatus for so long. Moreover Puzzle games hardly ever win awards! Why is that?

Thomas George

Hey MinnMax, how do I stop caring about achievements/trophies in games? I feel as though I'm kinda addicted to them, and they some times stop me from experiencing the game in a normal way as I usually have a guide open to make sure I never miss any collectibles or misssable achievements. I just want my brain to go back to the good ol' days. HELP ME!!!

McCracKenway

Any thoughts on the deepest dive on Rebirth now that it's wrapped up? One from me is that I missed the newcomer voices you had on for Remake, as a newcomer to FFVII myself.

Joshua Ayers

I'm really glad I gave Nier Automata a second chance. I was turned off by some of the action elements, but when I went back and played on easy it just was such a vibe - the music, the visuals, the weirdness. It was a smaller game than I expected, but all the more poignant for it. As for my question: if you got a blank check to make a game, what genre would it be? I hope to be a part of making the world's first goty 10/10 musou/Warriors game, so that'd be my pick.

kajmo

Howdy gang, I've just been called for jury duty for the 1st time and I'm feeling a little intimidated! Have any of you been in a jury? What was it like? Any interesting stories or tips you can share? Keep up the good work!

Angus RW

I really related to Leo's gaming confession about worrying about gaming shaping your brain and shifting your expectations - I've recently been dealing with 92yr old grandma being very sick, while I've been playing Spiritfarer for the first time, which is such a cathartic, satisfying emotional journey. I've been feeling bad because I don't feel like I care about the idea of losing my grandma half as much as I do about losing these fictional characters. Have any of you ever felt like gaming or other media has spoiled how you deal with emotions in real life by being too gratifying/satisfying?

Jacob de Mailly

Hej MinnMax! Sorry in advance for potentially not super good grammar, that I am dyslexic, and English is not my first language. My question is. Have you ever felt that a certain mechanic or story in a game was so great, that you now can’t think of playing other games with a similar feature or narrative? Love the show.

Mark Polley

When was the last time you did something that pushed you out of your comfort zone? I've been going to guitar lessons and the teacher is trying to get me to sing, something I've never ever done. But I'm trying, it's awful but I'm trying. Any good stories?

Josh Johnson

I'd like to do a bit of a thought experiment with the 2023 top 3. For each of the top 3, would they have been GOTY in 2020, 2021, and 2022? Between baldurs gate, totk, and hitman, would they top the charts, and if not, where would they slot in the last 3 years. 2022 1. Elden Ring 2. God of War Ragnarök 3. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 2021 1. Chicory: A Colorful Tale 2. Returnal 3. Deathloop 2020 1. Final Fantasy VII Remake 2. Kentucky Route Zero 3. Hades

BABA BOOEY BABA BOOEY Do people still get this reference? Do they know its origins?

Patrick Hughes

Hello hello MinnMax and friends. When it comes to second chances, I'm deeply appreciative for Majora's Mask being remade for 3DS. As a kid, attempting the original on N64 was just so unnerving and so much pressure with the time system, I couldn't handle it. And the fact you could only create temporary saves at the owl statues made for frustrating losses of progress if you forgot to go back to a statue before turning off the system. Thankfully, the 3DS version added a more forgiving save system and I was able to discover what an incredible world this game contains years later as a more experienced gamer. It truly felt like every character had a life, routine and dreams within this curious town frozen in time. Question for the week - What's the hardest game you played through to completion? And what motivated / drove you to complete said game?

Graham Walker

I'm currently camping in a caravan with two young children? We had 85kph winds last night- thought the caravan was gonna take off? What are all your best/worst camping experiences

Kevin Kuper

My wife and I were on a walk with our baby and I said wouldn't it be fun if there was a random treasure chest behind this rock. My wife asked an interesting question, if there was a chest there would you go open it and take what's inside, isn't that stealing? I'm wondering what the crews thoughts are and what would be in your real life hidden chest? Thanks!

Swedish pagan

If your favorite musical artist (living or dead) dropped a new album today, would you buy it without listening to any of the songs? If so, how many of the songs are you confident you would enjoy? I asked my partner this question and she said she would not buy any album without hearing the songs. She thinks she would like maybe 5 or 6 songs. I think that is insane! So, who is the crazy one?

MuskyGoron

Speaking of giving games second chances, what game have you given the most chances? A friend of mine loves Transistor and bought it for me on three platforms. I tried it each time, and i always stopped after about an hour of playing. It wasn’t until they bought it for me a fourth time this year that I finally played it through to completion, and as it turns out it’s great!

Fred Dinovo

If you had to choose what's your experience currency of choice? Points? Red Orbs? Other examples?

Michael Berry

Star Wars Force Unleashed for the PSP is one I gave another chance. I first played this on the Vita and it did not have a great first impression. It had some PSP jank and I kinda left it alone. However, it seems to be beloved by many videos on youtube, so I gave it another go. I absolutely LOVE this version even more so than the PS3/360 games. It is loaded with optional modes: Order 66 is a horde mode, Force Duel is a 1 vs 1 arena fight mode against classic charcaters, and a historic missions mode where you recreate famous fights from the movies. All of these are fantastic pick up and play modes that really elevate this version.

Ryan Stanton

The discussion a few episodes ago about Moonwalker reminded me of another Michael Jackson game with fun trivia. Michael Jackson: The Experience on DS replaced the melody of all the songs with vuvuzela sounds if it detected you were playing a pirated copy of the game. My question then, is what’s your favourite anti-piracy (or anti-cheat) method in a game?

Devin Atlee-Nutts

Hey MinnMaxers, I picked up Shadow of Mordor shortly after it released because I liked the idea of Arkham-style combat twinned with the new nemesis system, and I'd heard so many fun stories about people's time with the game. I generally have little interest in fantasy settings and absolutely zero love for the Lord of the Rings universe, yet I immensely enjoyed my time with the game. Luckily the story feels almost incidental to the action in this title and rarely gets in the way of gameplay, but my question to y'all is: What games have you enjoyed *despite* the IP it is attached to? Cheers, Tom

Mike Lynch

What's the oddest video game adaption of a movie/ tv series that you secretly love, even though it's considered horrible?

Quaznarg

Leo's gaming confession had me thinking last week. I often find video games have the capacity to be a worse medium than other art forms. When they indulge in the worst part of the tech industry and are designed to keep you engaged. Heck, "addictive" used to be used as a positive in old game reviews. Do you think this is a fair criticism? Because as I've gotten older I've felt increasingly disillusioned by the games industry.

quick_gotoplanB

What's your favorite PG rated joke? I'll share mine. What is a DJs favorite sauce?.... Marinara (but you have to say it like a record scratch)

Hayden Scott-Baron

Are there any games where you’ve had fun creating content for others? I loved designing dresses in Animal Crossing, and I even imported graffiti tags into Dreamcast Jet Set Radio. In the 1990s I made Worms levels for my friends on Amiga.

GreenMountainState

Hey MinnMax, I'm not sure if this is a popular choice but I'm glad I gave Breath of the wild a second chance. I put in a decent number of hours before falling off of it the first time. When I finally came back to it, I was way more open to using YouTube as a guide to reduce any frictions I came across and I found that balance really improved my experience.

Ryan Dodson

I went on a family vacation to Disney World last week for spring break and wanted to conduct an experiment. I wanted to see if one of my favorite features of the 3DS was still possible to use. So I packed along my 3DS and walked over 70,000 steps through three Disney Parks and four airports with it in my pocket and guess how many StreetPass connections I encountered. Not a single one. I fear that there is no longer any chance to utilize this feature of the 3DS if I couldn't get it to work in one of the world's most crowded places during one of the busiest times of the year. Can you think of any place where you could encounter a street pass connection by chance today or is this feature of the 3DS truly dead?

Brian W

What is the “coolest” game ever made? Not best game. Not best looking game. I mean the gosh darn sunglasses wearingest game.

Cody Allison

My second chance game is divinity original sin 2. I originally tried it and didn't really understand the strategy of the complex elemental powers combined with the armor and magic armor systems. The choices seemed far too vast, and I was very bad at remembering to save the game. I eventually gave it a second go. And it just clicked. It totally made me appreciate the complex story and mechanics that larian had built. Even opening up other complex games like mimimi games, baldurs gate 3, and games like XCOM

Toke F.

This show is cool. When are you inviting Manon Gage on?

Pablo Castillo

So I'm in the middle of packing my apartment up and have gotten to my and my wife's (very dusty) physical media collection. Going through our old dvds and our handful of blu-rays we collected during our college years has been really fun! Some random highlights: first three seasons of game of thrones, kill bill vol.2 (no vol.1), a hard days night, 4 seasons of red vs. blue, interstella 555, and snakes on a plane. Do you guys have any special or odd pieces in your physical media collections?

Azza G

Hey Minnmax, I've been playing lots of Atari games lately and it got me thinking how much I prefer these older games over many modern relases. So I've made a simple game for you all. I've picked some recent AAA releases and am putting them next to Atari classics, tell me which is a better game. Don't think too hard about the answers, go by gut feelings. Pong or Suicide Squad: KTJL Breakout or Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Missle Command or Super Mario Wonder Yars' Revenge or Spider-Man 2 Haunted House or Skull and Bones Adventure or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Tempest or Balatro (hardest for me) Warlords or Foamstars Asteroids or Starfield ET or South Park: Snow Day Thanks everyone! (BTW Ben I'm an Australian I hope I'm as cool as you imagine us)

SeparateKnob

Hey Ben, cohorts and guest/s!

Bob Buel

You think Kirby could have a glass of water when he's thirsty or do you think that would turn him into Water-Power Kirby? Actually....nevermind.

SenttheProphet

What gaming genre have you been missing? JRPGs are getting their shine right now this month, but over these years, what genre being popular have you missed? Personally missing RTS greatly, I thought by now would be enjoying a beautiful Starcraft 3 but alas

Stephen Rigney

Can lips tan? I read that lips and anuses are the same kind of skin. Same tanning situation for the anus?

Seth Filbin

If you had unlimited time and an unlimited budget to make your game, what would it be?

Victor Pham

Are you more comfortable being hot or cold?

Kellogs

In my younger days I worked at a go-kart track for a bit. It was pretty whatever, except one year we were a vendor at the Baltimore Grand Prix. So we created a mini replica of the race circuit inside of expo floor of the convention center. The track was made up of these red and white plastic barriers that had come from a dirt bike track and thousands of used indy car tires. It was a great time, but it was also one of the most exhausting weeks of my life because we had to assemble this whole thing and then disassemble it three days later. There was a point during the disassembly where all we had left was several massive piles of used indy cars. While waiting for our truck to come back from unloading stuff offsite, I crawled onto the top of one of the tire piles and proceeded to have one of the best naps of my life. Where's the weirdest place you've fallen asleep? Not just nodded off, like actually slept.

Tim Mattonen

My second chance game is Dead Cells. This was one of my first roguelites, and I just didn’t get it. Starting over and over seemed pointless, and I bounced off quick. Over the years though, roguelites became my go to for air travel. I forgotten about the game until Castlevania DLC, and was just wowed about all that was added. Guess my question is, what’s your preferred genre for traveling?

Jeremy Farbman

A second chance game: I tried Professor Layton a few years ago but I quit because the puzzles reminded me too much of math class. I love Phoenix Wright and am currently playing the crossover between the two. I was surprised to find myself looking forward to Layton's sections more than Phoenix's! I definitely plan to go back to his main series.

Sean

Hey MinnMax With Star Wars Outlaws being an Ubisoft open world, I'm worried it'll run into the same issues as FF7 Rebirth where there's a lot of stuff to do but not all of it is quality. However, as a huge Star Wars fan I'm sure I'll eat it up anyway. What's a franchise that you can't resist, regardless of quality between different entries? Sean S

Phil McKrackup

Hey MinnMax! What’s something you did when you were younger that you regret? In elementary school, I pulled a kid away from a urinal while he was urinating just to be funny. I regret it to this day.

Nate Voris

Hey Minnmax! 2nd chance game: Wheelman starring Vin Diesel. I remember playing the demo a lot and really enjoying the vehicle ramming combat, but getting the Wanted game instead because I thought the bullet bending looked cool. Stumbled on a physical pc copy for $8, got it running, and have been having a blast playing this 360 era bashing cars game. Question: I ordered a used FF7 guide online, it got held up for over 2 weeks in shipping, and when it finally got to me it had a giant yellow hazmat sticker on the front with "book" written in pencil next to it. Should I open it or will I die? Thanks!

LlorchDurden

Based on how the Spiciest Interviews are killing it, what other shows can MinnMax rip off? The best suggestion from discord that I looooved was from Lamb the Holloway suggesting "Gamers in cars getting coffee" (deducting the expensive cars from the budget) What else? any other suggestions?

Hugo Aguilar

Hey Minnmax, Recently I got into miniature painting, more specifically Warhammer 40K. So naturally my gaming time has significantly decreased and I can’t help but feel a little guilty about it. How do you balance your gaming time with other hobbies? Keep up the good work!

Rich

Greetings Cohorts, When Ben returned from last year's GDC he spoke about attending a management talk where the main takeaway was to tell your employees what they are doing well and actively give more compliments. How have you enjoyed the past year of increased positive feedback from Ben?

Elliot Barker

Hey Minnmax! With more publishers clearly shying away from idea of pouring money into new live service games, are there any franchises (video games or otherwise, get silly with it if you want to!) that you'd have loved to see as a live service game? And what things would you put in their season/battle pass or shop? Love the show, thanks for all the content, Elliot

Rich

Hello Huber et al. On a recent instalment of Bonus Pod, Ben mentioned that he is still turning down sponsorship emails from Raid: Shadow Legends. That game has reached all-time meme status but I would guess that most people have never seen it in action. For educational and financial purposes, why not throw it in the New Show Plus poll?

Poofydoo

Playing through Rebirth, I’ve noticed for side quests in open world games that people open up about personal things within a few sentences before you even introduce yourself. Can you try to convince me how going though an hour of small talk first with these complete strangers before taking on their quest would make for a better game?

Brad Grenz

Dear Bennifer Max, Please make a note to nominate the Easy Allies Haunted House for Alone in the Dark video as Greatest Work of Art when Game of the Year rolls around. Thanks! Brad Grenz

IsraRoq

On the topic of second chances with games. Mine would be the Nioh series. I remember trying the firat game and completely loosing sense of reality trying to understand the controls. Between the different stance, the ki burst, and the overall difficulty of the combat it was too much. It wasnt after a while, Epic was giving the sequel for free, and i said 'screw it' and grabbed it. After some helpful tips from a close friend that it finally clicked! I put around 150hrs into Nioh 2, and became a fan of Team Ninja's combat systems. Played all their games afterwards, only one i havent gotten into is Rise of The Ronin. TL;DR Nioh 2 made me a Team Ninja simp.

Hi there - What's a phrase or saying you want to work in to your regular vocabulary? I've been trying to use 'that dog won't hunt' or 'thats a horse of another color' for some time, but can't ever remember to use it when I get a chance.

I asked this question on the GI show and it sparked a great discussion, so I’ll ask it here too - we’ve had the same Big 3 console makers for the last 20 years. Do you think another company will ever enter the console space and endure? If so, what company?

Jacob's confession on last week's podcast about wanting to get a nuke in Modern Warfare 2 reminded me of the only nuke I ever got on that game. My friend and I somehow got into a public match on opposite teams, we met up and hid in a corner of the map and he let me kill him 25 times to get the nuke killstreak. This was the earlier days of MW2 and there were some exploits and glitches that weren't ironed out yet. My question is - will you confess to abusing any exploits or glitches in a game? Are there any specific ones you remember?
