Hey everybody, we're recording The MinnMax Show early this week - so you can watch us live at the Backstage Pass tier at 11am Central on Tuesday. We'll get it up in the bonus podcast feed shortly after that and it will air to the public with the video version at the standard time (12:15pm Central) on Thursday.

Also, due to the Nintendo Direct dropping on Tuesday morning at 9am Central (we'll be streaming a reaction on YouTube) and some challenging schedules - there won't be a New Show Plus poll or episode this week. We'll be back in fighting shape next week. Thanks for your patience, things have been hectic since returning from Summer Game Fest. But thanks for all of the kind comments about the travelogue!

This week for community questions on the podcast, we'll have Ben Hanson, Jacob Geller, Kelsey Lewin, and Janet Garcia. It's your turn to make the show better by leaving a question, news story, BetterQuest goal, or anything else for us to read on the show as a comment below! We’ll choose our favorite and iam8bit will ship out the great prize below for the winner! We'll stop pulling questions around 8am Central on Tuesday.

On this week’s episode we’ll be talking about...

Nintendo Direct Highlights

Summer Game Fest mop-up

Steam Next Fest Highlights

Everybody at the Backstage Pass tier can watch us record the show live on the special time of Tuesday at 11am Central, with an exclusive pre and post show. The unedited archive will be available to view after the fact. What would be your dream game reveal AND what's the worst twist it could have to ruin it? For me, Capcom's Gotcha Force returning as a gacha game.

Peter Gallagher

If Mr Beast offered you $10,000 per egg consumed in a 24-hour period, how many eggs are you eating? You can eat the eggs any way you’d like (scrambled, poached, etc.) and with unlimited condiments. You cannot use the eggs as an ingredient (cookies or brownies). Soufflés are allowed. Please describe your strategy.

Leah

What's one announcement from the past few weeks that you think most people have already forgotten entirely?

Shane C

I have a question that keeps me up at night. What is a salad? And before you answer something about vegetables or a bed of greens, please consider: potato salad, fruit salad, pasta salad, egg salad, ham salad, taco salad, tuna salad...is all food technically some form of salad? I thought maybe there had to be some sort of "chopped or diced" component, but then I thought about the wedge salad. I thought maybe it had to be veggie-focused, but ham salad and tuna salad ruin that theory. Seriously, is everything a salad?

Ken H (Kenny2Slice)

A couple weeks ago there was the debate about higher kill count between Mario and Link. If the thought process is that Mario is killing all those goombas and chargin’ Chucks and the rest, it stands to reason he either can’t or won’t kill Bowser. Does Mario have some sort of Batman killing rule? Why won’t Mario simply kill the Bowser? - Kenny2Slice

Has the micro transactions model ever gotten you to buy something against your better judgement? I spent $20 on Eminem in Fortnite even though I play Fortnite maybe 3 times a year. I don't even like Eminem. It is just funny to be Eminem in Fortnite. - Justin

Lamb Dance

With stuff like the Nintendo Direct announcement you see the “here come 10 farming sims” joke a lot. Do you think there’s too many Farming Sims, or have people exaggerated the problem?

Ian Miller

Have y'all played chess? Like actually played a match? I always thought it was a old game for old boring people, but to my surprise it's fun! I looked into it, and it's earliest known origin was a game from 7th century India called "chatarunga." Roughly translated, it means 'four divisions,' or four divisions of military (knight, rook, bishop and pawn). Crazy stuff! My question is: What game from the past 50 years of gaming history will develop and form into the next 'chess,' that people will be playing thousands of years from now? Toodles, Ian Miller

Patrick G

With the new Mega Man game being announced what other franchise needs a major come back -Patrick G

Trevor Wermund

Hey cohorts! I always enjoy the Steam Next Fest for the ability to pop around to different experiences quickly to get a feel for how the game plays. As fun as it is, I always get hit with a sense of FOMO that I'm missing the one good demo that everyone will be talking about in 3 weeks that I can't play now. What's your approach to Next Fest when there are so many options to pick from and you only have a limited amount of time to pick the games you want to play? I assume you have similar issues at SGF, E3 etc

jacob cummings

Good morning MaxMinners, When I was a kid I dreamed of an Assassin's Creed set in Japan. Now that it's here, I've long since stopped caring about and/or trusting Assassin's Creed to be worth my time. Have any of you had a dream game that came too late? What was it?

Adam Cohen

Imagine for a moment that you are stuck on desert Island with no books, video games, movies, or TV shows, but there is a television playing 24/7 non-stop commercials. Would you watch it? And if so, for how long? Would it be better if the commercials were always different or stayed in a rotation?

Joshua Novalis

Hey MinnMax! My question is for the one and only Jacob Geller. I’ve been working my way through the Metal Gear series these past few months, and it’s been fun to cross paths with your playthrough on both the podcast and Twitter. With that in mind: what has been your biggest surprise playing through the series this time? Is there anything that jumped out to you that hasn’t before? Is there a particular entry that holds up better or worse than you expected?

SuperCerberus

Have you ever had any memorable video game related dreams?

Forbin

All these next fest demos got me thinking about the golden age of demo discs. What other random nostalgic things from that 90s/early 00s era would you like to make a comeback? Jinco jeans? AOL trial floppy discs? MySpace? Anything!

Charnel

Do you struggle with your identity as both a journalist and an influencer? This question is spurred from the discussion last ep about the IGN interview with the head of Xbox, where the journalist said 'I have to do my journalistic job and ask this question'. It sounds like a lot of game journalism is almost in spite of journalism, and they just want to be internet celebs instead of game informers.

The Sleepy MailMan

Hey, MinnMax! If you were able to do so, would you make Trico (The Last Guardian) a real animal? Why or why not?

dingus2k

Hey whats up with all the Harrison Ford games coming out this year? We’re getting an Indiana Jones game supposedly within months of a Han solo-esque game and idk that anyone else is talking about it. That’s all.

Frostphorus

I was just playing some 2014 Lichdom battlemage, a game with very odd controls and UI that shows both keyboard and controller inputs at all times. My question for you computer loving cohorts is, When you boot up a new game on PC how do you determine if you're supposed to use M&K or controller? A lot of people will say FPS games always have to be played with M&K but when the weapons are on a radial wheel and I have to open the inventory by pressing “I” it just tells me that the game was meant for a controller. Do you always default to the same input method? Will you push through with your preferred method even if the game seems more designed for the other?

Israel Imru

When traveling to another city for work, do y'all usually pack video games to knock out some "work" while there's downtime? For example, maybe packing up your Nintendo Switch or (gigantic) steam deck to play during the flight or after all of the events? Or do you prefer to pack books/movies to not be totally fried on video games?

Chandler

Is there a license plate more famous than "OUTATIME"

Travis in Fargo

What’s your “white whale” of gaming?

Tom Rickard

Hey folks! Recently went on a trip this weekend and one morning while eating breakfast and getting ready to go out, the hotel tv was playing the 2012 romance movie The Vow. I got sucked into this weird dumb romance where in one scene Rachel McAdams lovingly inhales Channing Tatum’s farts. It was awful but it was the only thing on so I willingly suffered. What was the most random/memorable movie you’ve seen while traveling??

Christian Jimenez

Howdy Chowdy, I saw this great analogy to FromSoftware lore as having it be archeology, it's there but you have to dig for it. I really liked that description for it. What other real world professions could be used to describe other games? Thanks.

BenMan

My question is for international smart guy Jacob Geller. You think you're better than us?

Cody Allison

What's the best pause menu music?

FinalSin

Hey all here's a off the wall question, I'm sure at some point you all have seen 2 Flys making sweet in-sex. Do you think the female fiy sees a horse fly, and is like I wish my boyfriend was hung like flyrone, or do you think other Flys crack On each other and are like ,oh man you're hung like a nat. Or do you think it's just humans that just joke around? Or do you think other creatures do as well?

humanfart

Which body part do you wish you could detach and why? I'd take off my arms. They are often in the way when I'm trying to sleep.

Brainfreeze

Does anyone else think that Perfect Dark trailer looked totally fake? I've seen so much praise and so little suspicion, it makes me want to exclaim "AM I NUTS?"

Michael Berry

Have your ever had kiwi berries? I need somebody else to confirm that these exist. I got a bunch of these about 7 years ago during the summer and they were delicious. They are tiny kiwis about the size of grapes that you can eat a handful at a time. However, I have never seen these since despite me actively looking and I'm now questioning my sanity.

ProcyonNumber6

Hey Benn and Friennds, In reference to the pod a few weeks ago about remembering speeches given in the fifth grade, my fifth grade class did a "living wax museum" for a fundraiser where everyone dressed up as a historical figure and for a quarter would "come to life" and give their speech at passersby. My question is this, what historical figure do you know an odd amount about?

Zae

Hey Minnmax, One of my favorite games is dead cells. They constantly supported it and released more content after the game released. But because of that, on a normal run, you’re running into weapons you don’t want to use more because of your build and salvaging gives you a couple gold. Now in dead cells it’s a bit of a non issue because they created a custom mode where you can choose what’s in the map. And I think behind the scenes they have a system that caters to your build a little but my point still stands. When is more not a good thing in video games? Thanks for all you do. I really enjoyed the travel log preview.

Thom Blackburn

We've seen games finally breaking into the TV and movie space successfully, what's holding TV and film properties back from succeeding as games? Thanks!

RickyWinterborn

Do you think a single Nintendo direct drums up more hype than all of Summer Games Fest? Obviously some Nintendo directs can be low key, but I also feel like they have the most potential for massive announcements, since Nintendo has so many legendary franchises, and is the most unpredictable company amongst the big three.

Phelix Diaz

What's your favorite foreign language word?

Marc S

Recently I was in the mood for a stylish action game to play and hearing Jacob and Kelsey compare 1000xResist to Nier: Automata, I immediately turned off the podcast with no further explanation to avoid spoilers. What I played could not have possibly been further from a stylish action game, but ended up being one of my favorite games I've played in a long time. So my question is, what is your favorite "accidental experience", gaming or otherwise, where you didn't get what you expected, but you discovered something you ended up loving?

David Dubs

Hey gang! I once again was too slow ordering the Alan Wake 2 thermos before it sold out. Is there any piece of gaming merch that you wish you could have?

Justin Toledo

Hey there! Have you ever had a gaming genre or franchise you were sure wasn’t your thing until you played that one game that made it click for you? If so, what did that game do that made the genre/franchise feel approachable? I would have never thought the card game genre could be as fun as it was until trying Inscryption. The crazy narrative elements definitely helped a lot too, but the card game mechanics were so fun and engaging I was equally as obsessed with that part as well.

Sam Worms

Hello everyone! It's my birthday on Wednesday which got me thinking - what was the best birthday you've had so far? When I turned 21, I was in a cover band and we played at Tiff's in St. Paul with all my friends and family there.

James from Michigan

Hey Cohorts, I just finished Another Crabs Treasure over the weekend and really enjoyed the game overall. It was genuinely funny at times, making me laugh out loud, and the Souls easter eggs were fun as well. I found the comedy of the game very refreshing in the usually bleak Soulslike scene. What are some other examples of games with vastly different tones compared to their genre contemporaries?

Lee Wang

What's the thing you love most that the fewest people have even heard of? For example, I've only ever met two people in the wild who have heard of my favorite rock band (Bardo Pond).

Matthew Byerwalter

What should fans of MinnMax be called? Taylor has Swifties, Lady Gaga has little monsters, but what about us? Minnows? Maxies? Hansonites?

Neal McMahon

Hey CLC’s, This game is called, “Name Your Game Studio”. With all the crazy studio names out there, I often find myself deeply pondering the meaning/origin behind the studio name. Some like From Software may just be a language translation thing while others like 343 or The Coalition seem pretty straightforward as they are named after characters in previous games I believe. If you could name your own video game studio, what would it be and what would the animation logo be upon loading the game? Would you go for a family name such as Hanson Farms? Would you have cool ambient piano keys sounding like Bethesda did in older games like Oblivion? Use your imagination!! Thanks!

Chris from Maryland

Hi MinnMax! 20+years ago, Neopets was a huge part of kids gaming, Nintendo tried to capture that same audience with Nintendogs, what would be this generations version of animal based kids games? Bonus question, were those games ever good to begin with or was it just rose filled glasses of childhood memories? Thanks for all of great discussions!

Mike Lynch

Which video game award/showcase presenter has the best "Hand Game"? Who always looks like they comfortably know what they're doing with their hands at all times?

p9xm

With Sakurai announcing the end of videos for his YouTube channel comes rumblings that he's turning his full focus to new Smash on Switch 2. That got me thinking about Subspace Emissary in Brawl, which is legally allowed to drive in the US. Before the release of 3ds/Wii U, Sakurai wrote in Famitsu that one of the reasons a Subspace-like wouldn't be returning was because he didn't like how the cutscenes got uploaded online, lessening the experience. Do you think now that he's experienced YouTube and that Smash Ultimate truly was a culmination of the series, they'd consider returning to a Subspace-like experience? Or, what is missing from Smash Ultimate that could be added or improved upon in a successor?

Styster

What's been your favorite Nintendo Direct so far? Has one announcement stood out for you above the rest?

Zane Dukes

Nintendo has never been able to follow up a smash hit console with another great console. What dumb thing are they gonna do to the “successor to the Nintendo switch” that completely kills the vibe

Travis in Fargo

The mosquitos are just starting to get bad here in Fargo, which really sucks - literally!!! What’s a minor but still annoying nuisance where you live?

resnet

Hi MinnMax! To mourn the fact that it is still not warm enough for summer where I am living, what is your number 1 summer game? Something that screams summer for you due to whatever reasons. Love!

Toke F.

Last week you discussed "wander stop" the first title from Ivy Road. As a fun note about Ivy Road, they revealed their studio during the 2021 AnnaPurna interactive showcase (link below), in a video where they of course... ... Made tea, a small hint at what they secretly worked on. Also they fool around at the end of the video and it never fails to make me smile. https://youtu.be/tsS03PFmvlI?si=MOrQj7Svdwb-MN_v

Poofydoo

What was the one thing from Summer Game Fest that was completely unexpected? It doesn’t have to be a game. Maybe it was a snack or someone or something you ran into.

Aging_Poorly

Outside of MinnMax or other supporter-based platforms, who in the videogame industry do you think has the best job?

BEEFCAKE

What profession is there not enough games about?

Tokyo Game Life

A few episodes ago, Kelsey recommended Neopets, so I made a new account and created a lizard pet named “GexOnTheBeach”. A few hours later, I was given a warning due to the “profane” name and my pet was deleted. Did I cross the line or is the moderation team being unreasonable?

SlyCut

Hello all, During Kinda Funny's most recent episode of Game Showdown, Greg Miller said, referring to the Kinda Funny audience, "If they were educated, they would go listen to MinnMax, alright? They're here for a reason." What do you think about this comment?

JD Silva

Heyo! As I’m nearing the grizzled age of 28 I find myself enjoying a game but not finishing it more and more, and trying to be more accepting of myself when that happens. I just don’t have the time like I used to. Sometimes I feel like I’ve lost or missed out on something if I don’t play a game all the way through. I recently got a Steam Deck and it’s been a blast, but the variety of games I have access to now has made this happen more and more, and I’ve been moving on if I don’t love something much faster. Is this something you all run in to as well? Have you always been at peace with it? Supporting MinnMax from Oklahoma City!

Tyler Sticka

Indie games swept the show for me in the week surrounding Summer Games Fest. That's not super unusual for me, but I think I added 20 or 30 unreleased games to my wish list this time around, which is pretty unprecedented. Even on visuals alone, games like Phoenix Springs and Dome-King Cabbage are jaw-dropping. Am I alone in feeling like something special is happening in the indie space right now? If so, any theories as to why?

SlyCut

Hello all, The sales success of video games is measured by the number of units sold, not the money earned. Why is the box office success of movies measured in money earned and not the number of tickets sold? When I see a headline saying, X movie set new box office record besting Y movie, I think, well, ticket prices have gone up since then, so yeah. The stat-lover in me wants to know the true box office kings. It drives me nuts!

Cath

Hi everyone! I’m going to my first water park this summer, any suggestion on things i should do or not

KickinIt

Hey what's the deal with so many podcasts talking about Jeff Keighley like he's their misfit younger brother? It feels like everyone is happy for him while also rolling their eyes at the same time. Is there a backstory here I'm missing?

Limp Bizquick

Howdy cohort! This one’s for Ben. How were the outfits at SGF received? Are you noticing any impact to what you wear post-SGF?

draintheswampert

I won’t be able to watch the direct live :(, can you ask a really smart question about the direct on my behalf?

PhillyYeetSteak

(posting this again bc i still like this question) After watching previews for Metal Gear Delta, i started wondering... What is the most recent game that you expect will get a full remake within our lifetime?

tuxpeng

Hey gang! Loved the SGF coverage, and glad to see that most folks involved seemed to as well! What's a one-off mechanic from a game you wish was either used more in said game, or potentially even expanded into its own title?

Vilis

Hello hello! I've been revisiting TellTale Game's The Walking Dead (I feel bad I never finished Clementine's adventure) and reflecting on how we used to be okay with, and even found it a little exciting, to have these episodic games where an episode would drop, people would play and discuss their decisions, try different outcomes, and then the next would come a few months later. Instead we now have live service Game's delivering monthly or longer interval content to keep people subscribed. Do y'all think like the episodic games of a decade ago, at some point in the near future gamers en masse are going to grow tired of needing to keep up with living world games, or do Final Fantasy XIV and WOW and Fortnite have enough dedicated vassals to stand for all time??

Justin Chen

Howdy yall! Now that we are in the full swing of summer, are there any games or game memories that you specifically tie with the season?

Christian Hall

Hey MinnMax! What are your favorite video game gameplay tropes?

Robyn Jones

Hey MinnMaxers, I'm a huge Dragon Age fan and fairly excited for the new one even though it seems to be going in a different-ish direction than previous titles. Ignoring that pointless first trailer and after watching the gameplay they showed I saw many people and headlines say it was going to be a much darker game than it has been. Personally it looked on par with what we already have in the franchise and didn't see anything overtly bleak or scary, aside the obvious. My question is did anyone else feel or see anything that would lead us to believe the game is going to be much darker this time round or was it literally just because it was night time in the demo? Keep up the amazing podcast, Robyn from lil old Wales

Sean

Hey minnmaxers How big is your gaming library? What percentage of your library do you think you’ve actually played? I think I’ve only played about 60% of the 300 games I have on my PlayStation because most of them are from ps plus.

Eric Bushell

A simple 'would you rather' scenario for the cohorts today. Would you rather, never need to sleep again but néed to use the toilet every hour on the hour OR Would you rather never need to use the toilet again, but you can only sleep while sitting in a chair/on a toilet? (reclining wakes you up, so no Lazy Boys)

whitemex

Happy Belated Father's Day Ben! Can you and the gang share your best dad jokes?

Travis Harke

What is a game that "broke you" & changed your gaming habits? Example - for me, Fallout New Vegas. The game waa so busted upon release, that it constantly crashed. I did not know that until about 4 hours of gameplay went unsaved and the game crashed on me and I lost all that progress. Since that moment (this was 2010) every single time theres a game with a manual save option - I manually save every 10-15 seconds (its a habit I cannot break) Thank you Travis from WI

Derek Achoy

What is the best deep fried food, other than chicken, fries, or chips?

Graham Jones

Missed joke opportunity: on last week's episode when Janet was talking about smaller studios getting bought out she said they " loose a bit of control" but she should have added " and I'm not talking about Remedy's control".

Jerry Young

Hi there! If you haven’t seen it floating around online, what’s minnmax take on the a b or c next bite of the sandwich debate? It’s clearly b and anyone that thinks otherwise is nuts. Ben if you look a b or c sandwich bite you’ll find it easily). Thanks!

James Welsh

What percentage of the Two Tens do you think will be Indie games this year? Prior to this summer of reveals, I would have thought they'd dominate, but now I'm not sure. Also, been playing 1000XResist the past week, and Jacob and Kelsey are right. That game is captivating.

Stephen Rigney

I hate to jump on the food question tactical bandwagon, but Phở or Ramen? The correct answer is Phở. Healthier, fresher, more flavour, tastes awesome with whatever condiment you want to throw in.

Onlinesquid

Disclaimer: This question is Kelsey bait. What's one situation where you feel like fate just got it wrong? For me the 2015 Mets just had so many markings of a team of destiny (Degrom striking out the side at the ASG, the Wilmer Flores trade that wasn't followed by the walk off home run, Yoenis cespedes, beating grienke and Kershaw, Daniel Murphy going nuclear, the dark Knight retuning and pitching 8 scoreless in game 1) that it just feels like a universal mess up that they lost.

Adam Walters

If somebody created a highlight clip of your athletic "career", no matter how mundane, what would it be? I was just a roll player that came off the bench in high school varsity basketball, but my highlight reel would be being 100% on free throws for my senior season.

Marshall Banana

With Shadow of the Erdtree coming up, here’s a simple question: what are the ingredients for great DLC? What makes for not-so-good DLC?

Tess

Game Time! Youtube decided to reccommend me the Two Tens from 2019, and I thought it'd be fun to see if y'all remember what made the older Two Tens. Pick whether it made the Two Tens or just missed it. 2019 Dragon Quest Builders 2 The Outer Wilds The Outer Worlds One Piece: World Seeker Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2021 Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart WarioWare: Get It Together Metroid Dread Unpacking Forza Horizon 5 2022 Tinykin Neon White Weird West Sifu Kirby and the Forgotten Land Answers in the comments!

Muffyn Crumbs

It finally happened! Jackbox now has a launcher coming out in July! Also, unrelated but did you guys see that they announced a remake to the Thing videogame?

Eric Carrico

Which game was a bigger surprise at this week's Nintendo Direct: Silk Song, Metroid Prime 4 or the unannounced Zelda HD Remake?

Funky Duck

In the SGF travelogue, a handful of people mentioned watching the New Show+ Fashion Montage. Was that surprising, and did that video get more traction than others?

Kenjamin

What game genre brings out the worst in you that you still continue to play? I can’t play online shooters without screaming profanities, yet my Finals addiction rages on.

Joe Dean

Has there ever been a story, video, or something you were working on and then someone beat you to it? Or even something you watched or read and you thought "I should've done that."? Also next month, July, MinnMax's book club will be reading Little Women, because Ben won't. Come join in!

Ari

Hi Minnmax, What video games have inspired you to travel?

Nick LaPole

Question! MinnMax meet-up to coincide with ComedyBangBang Live in St. Paul on August 5th (get your tickets now)??

Miskain

Today I have been alcohol free for a full year! Can everyone share a thing that makes them happy today? No matter how big or small. 🙂

Kelsey Sims

I'm still holding out hope that Yoshi's Wooly World will be ported or remade for the Switch. I don't know what it is about Yoshi's Crafted World, but it just doesn't vibe with me. I wasn't fussy on it at launch, and I tried to pick it up again last week with lower expectations but shelved it after 2 or 3 sessions. What's a game that you really enjoyed that had a sequel or spiritual successor that you just couldn't get into?

Jeremy Smith

I own a small game store and have had several spirited discussions lately about how we should alphabetize certain games. I would love to hear the groups reasoning on what letter they would place these titles under: - The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim - Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - .Hack Infection

Crayter

Sadly, it almost feels like subsidiary studios have inventive to delay their own releases lately with how many studios are getting shut down after releasing their games lately, just as a means of temporary self preservation. Am I nuts?

Jonah Gomez

Hey crew I definitely want to get your thoughts on expedition 33. I think it was a big surprise for SGF and I haven't heard any buz around it. Love you guys and keep up the great work

Ravelle

Hey MinnMaxer's! Do you have any games you can't get in to but respect a whole lot? For me it's probably Crusader Kings, everything about those games should be up my ally but trying to understand all the systems feels like studying for an exam.

Steve Bellegarde

Hey MinnMax! With the announcement of Gears of War E Day being the next game from the Coalition, it could now be a 10 or more years before we get the follow up to Gears 5’s cliffhanger ending. It got me thinking, is the industry now too unstable to reliably have cliffhangers for triple A games? Games now take 4-5 years between entries and there could be a ton of potential changes between one entry and the next. Layoffs, leadership or industry trends to name a few.

MyNameIsDan

Hey friends. Could you make a bet right now amongst each other about the following: will the Elder Scrolls 6 come out within 10 years of its original announcement (2018)? I'm really just hoping we get to see an Onion/Hard Drive post celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Elder Scrolls 6 announcement.

Andrew Rennolds

Hey minnmax! With the recent news that a banana game on steam ( which is just a game where you just clock a banana) has concurrent players of over 800,000 on steam does it make this metric impossible to judge how popular a game actually is ?

Graham Walker

Ok, so the head of Embracer was made to look silly by saying that games should cost $100- what an idiot... But... Is he maybe right. Just a quick look at figures Dune 2 and star field both cost around £200mil to create. Dune 2 earned £711mil, and starfiled reportedly $250mil. There are lots of ifs and or buts about that, but £20 for a ticket to see a 2 hour film versus £70 for a 60-120 hour game with a lot of replay value- are these really fair exchanges for the consumer and producers here?

LlorchDurden

If a Metroid Prime is announced => deepest dive? If no Metroid is announced => what happened with the SNES controller Kelsey was fixing? Did it die? Did someone fix it? It's lore already (sorry double question, this is pre-Nintendo direct)

Shimmy Neutron

Was committing podultery yesterday (shout out to last stand media if you wish) and an interesting complaint came up. There are too many games, not in a funny haha don't have time kind of sense. But a literal I'm worried about how many of these studios may fail simple because there isn't enough time or people to appreciate all these games with how live service dominates the way it does etc etc. Question, do you agree, is it too much good stuff to a detriment? Also if games stopped coming out at the end of this year, realistically how long could you game off back log alone and have a good time getting to everything you've missed and might enjoy? Thanks for the laughs, all hail emperor Ben.

Hieronymus Josh

Did Ben wear his swimsuit shorts multiple days in 80+ degree heat at SGF? Because usually isn’t part of what differentiates a swimsuit from shorts the liner? I have concerns.
