What’s the oldest game that you’ve beat that you could open your last save and not only beat the final boss but also remember the context why you’re fighting?

Joshua Ayers

Have you ever considered making a separate MinnMax trailers channel and just posting trailer reveals and stuff for all games but... without ads? Nothing makes me madder looking for an official game reveal and finding gamespot, ign, etc videos with ads before the official uploader's official post of the video without any ads. I don't know anything about SEO, but it feels like it could be a chance to grow the MinnMax brand and redirect people to the main channel just by having another source of those reveals and trailers that doesn't play ads. No idea why people watch those other versions, but they get pushed above the official ones... could be a growth and goodwill opportunity? Unless youtube is pushing them to play more ads to people... dammit capitalism!

TheMightyEthan

Hey everyone, I have a missed joke opportunity from last week: Leo was talking about going on a trip and said he had his steam deck with Cat Quest 3 and Ben said "perfect" but he should have said "purr-fect."

Treethan

Due to Peter looking disheveled and meek can I have permission to be excited about Masters of Albion since it seems like he’s mellowed out after his NFT failures

SlyCut

Hello all, Please do the world a favor and rank these words by how much they represent from the least to the greatest. Context sentence: I have (a) blank (of) video games. Lot Some Many Couple Several Few Ton Bunch

Adam Castellanos

After watching the Nintendo museum video, I was wondering what has been all of yours most memorable museum experience? Thank you love the show.

Dominic Carollo

What game, if any, would you like to see adapted into a musical or stage production? Personally I'd like to see Horizon Zero Dawn, complete with Lion King-esque puppets!

Chandler

Have you ever actually said "it's not just a phase, Mom"? I want to hear about embarrassing phases you went through.

CrabPalace

What's the oldest game you intend to play one day?

Ben Feinberg

Hello fellow Ben et al. Long time, first time. A couple years ago to help organize my backlog of media I started going through work by the same creator in order. Last year was Tim Schafer games and Damon Lindelof shows. This year I'm doing Remedy games (with a detour into Max Payne 3 because of Something Rotten). What are some other creators or studios that would be interesting to play all their games back to back?

Meatball

Hi gang, What are some of your favorite video game maps of all time? Shoutout Kingdom Come Deliverance and Skyrim my two personal favorites

Derek O

If you could only play games that start with the same letter, what letter are you picking? Feel free to ignore any "The" in the titles.

TheRealJoeRussell

Ben, I too loved the Dynasty Warriors demo on the PS2 demo disk. I was hooked and I played most of the games since. What can the Dynasty Warriors series do to make the games good again? Should I look forward to Dynasty Warriors origins?

Fatt Mish

Good day cohorts of MinnMax. How many cheat codes and or special moves from button combinations do you all still remember? I know I've used plenty over the past 40 years, but I honestly only remember about 10--the rest I'd have to look up online or in a guide. Happy gaming!

Thom Blackburn

I wish that Microsoft gave a clearer answer on the criteria it uses to determine exclusivity. Unless there is merit to the strategy of letting people ask every time an Xbox game launches whether it is Xbox exclusive. Not really a question, just looking for a high five.

Zane Dukes

Microsoft has teased Raiders of the Lost Ark moments in the new Indiana Jones. Help settle this raiders debate made famous by big bang theory, where they postulated that Indiana jones had no impact on the story at all. Am I on an island for thinking that the creepy German Toth tailed Indy onto the plane to Mongolia to find Marion? He never mentions the head piece to the staff of Ra to Marion, only saying he wanted “the same thing Dr jones wanted.” He didn’t know what it was or where to find Marion! Also, while we’re on the subject, isn’t it weird that Spielberg basically plagiarized himself in the scene with Belloq and Marion having dinner by copying the set up for the second murder in his Columbo episode “murder by the book”?

Victor Pham

Are you still excited about AAA games?

Mike Lynch

Rate the last 20 years of Social Media. From MySpace to TikTok, what has been its greatest benefit, and what is a change you would like to see implemented?

Kraven Morcome

Hey Ben, You recently asked on a stream why I created the world with one big super continent called Pangea. The truth is that Pangea did not exist when the Earth was first created and was not even the first super continent. The Earth started with seperate landmass, much like now, but shifting of tectonic plates brought them together and eventually back apart. Rest assured that the continents are still slowly shifting and will one day collide into a new super continent, but you will have been smited by me long before that happens.

FelixA

If Secret Levels works out I think Tim Miller and his studio will be set. There is so much potential. What are your dream franchises to get that AAA CGI treatment. I personally would lose my mind if Nintendo were okay with a Metroid. Oh and Shadow of the Colossus. from Sony

KC Caleb

I saw a resident evil raccoon city jeep driving on the highway the other day. What is the strangest/ most unique video game promotion you have seen randomly in the wild?

Josh LaBaw

When a game has a set Protagonist character(s) but your allowed to change the name(s), do you? Like the original Final Fantasy VII. I couldn't rename Barret, or Tifa, just didn't feel right.

Michael Griffin

Hello MinnMax, Question for those who have non-gaming partners. How do they react to being told that a game doesn't have a pause option? I've been playing a lot of Elden Ring lately, and my partner does not get how their is no way to pause the game when she calls me for help with something. I don't want to lose those runes!

Lamb Dance

Hello, I was going to give this prompt during the Olympics but it seemed out of place in the Game Informer themed episodes. Here are five games that were official events at the most recent Olympic Esports Series. Can each cohort pick which of these Olympic Esports they'd be willing to compete in? Extra Rule: No doubling up on the same sport: Motorsport via Gran Turismo 7; Dance via Just Dance; Chess via Chess dot com; Cycling via Zwift; And Shooting via Fornite.

thejjuan1

Ben. How was the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Orchestra? But most importantly how did you dress? I’m going in November, and want to know the dress code. I’m thinking dress pants and shirt, but will that be too formal?

Joey Crundwell

Hola Ben and crew! What are some bad games with good soundtracks? Some of my favorite games have incredible soundtracks/scores (Persona 5, EarthBound, Chrono Trigger, Stardew Valley, etc.), but I’m struggling to think of games I thought were Not It™️ with killer soundtracks.

Aging_Poorly

Hey team and welcome back Kate! Minnesotans, can you please confirm or deny that you call the act of doing donuts in a car in a snowy parking lot “whipping shitties”? And maybe take this time to let us know if there’s any other Minnesota nonsense terms we should know about.

Stevelution

Hey gang, what’s a feature of gaming magazines you’re going to miss? Mine are demo discs. I always loved buying a gaming mag and getting a disc with a few demos I’d otherwise never have tried.

Virtua Cat

Gil, GP, Potch, Fol, Simoleons, just a few examples of money in games - What’s the best video game currency of all time?

Groovydude

When you are on a spaceship in a game like Mass Effect or Star Wars, do you think of it more like a boat or more like a submarine?

dvader501

I’m sure this has been asked before but the GI coverage lately has me thinking, with such incredibly strong writers in the Minnmax cohorts lineup has there ever been a thought to add some written content to your rotation? I was an avid reader of JeffM’s “play like a pro” columns back in the day and selfishly would love to see something like that on the Patreon.

Luis Pérez

Speaking of museums, what belonging of yours do you think belongs in one?

With Halloween just around the corner, what do you think this year’s big costume will be? And how about group costume?

What Nintendo Switch 2 feature would be so disappointing, that it would suck the air out of the room?

CptCobblePot

Greetings Minnmaxers, What series do you think could thrive on an arcade cabinet? Was thinking a Disney genesis collection would be amazing

Hunter Short

I’m super excited for the REV-8 in Starfield! Have y’all ever been really excited by small updates to games?

Nubbyy

Hi Minnmax Crew! When you sit down to play a game just for you (not tied to MM content or other commitments), do you find yourself playing something new and exciting or falling back to old favorites? I've noticed as I've gotten older and have less free time, I still play new games but I'm much more often returning to familiar favorites - the games that give me a feeling of "home" when I boot up the to the main menu.

Marty Cawley

Hey gang, I’m lucky enough to be getting sent to Japan for work in November this year! It will be my first time. Any recommendations or advice? I’ll be working in Tokyo for 2 weeks and hoping to stay an extra 5 days or so to explore on my own afterwards. Leaning towards checking out Tokyo, Kyoto, and Mt. Fuji, but I’m open to any and all recommendations! Thanks!

Tanner Hoisington

Last week a great remaster of Telltale's third season of Sam and Max — a series and Telltale best — released under the radar. I have been playing that and the remaster of Baten Kaitos, another forgotten remaster from last year. What is the last cult remaster you played that deserves a bit more attention?

tuxpeng

What would be your gaming "last meal" of sorts? Tons of great stuff out there, but ideally it'd be something you could feel good about being your one last ride.

Tess

Hello! How do you all feel about government funding towards games? This year we've seen some really great games with some amounts of government funding like Dungeons of Hinterburg funded by Austria, 1000xRESIST funded by Canada, and Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom funded by San Marino. Do you consider government funding when discussing a game, and does the type of government funding, such as art grants, finance, or military funding, change your perspective.

RobBobWill

Hello Minmaxxers! I saw a video for Kyle and Marcus Stewart completing their Majora's Mask Super Replay on GI, and naturally I had to put it on hold and start the series from where it all began! This led be to the bizarre revelation that Kyle Hilliard remembers Zelda Ocarina songs by memorizing a random sequence in the middle of the song, then just repeating that sequence until the song triggers? I believe he claimed this method was like memorizing fighting game combos. This leads me to two questions: 1) Absolutely no shade to Kyle for this unconventional approach, but I'm just curious if it correlates with not having learned a musical instrument? It's such a funny idea of Link starting a song in the middle and playing to the end, then playing the first half after that. 2) Are there any unconventional approaches to video game tasks/challenges that the crew has and are particularly fond of?

Christian Jimenez

Hello, During my time as an educator and having visited a ton of museums I've seen a lot of VR additions to exhibits, but the quality of those presentations has been lackluster. I do think this is the next big step for museums to take advantage of and change from just a walk and read to immersion driven experiences. Why aren't there more game companies jumping in to grow/diversify their portfolio with projects like this?

Tokyo Game Life

How have you been preparing for Blank Check’s upcoming miniseries on David Lynch? Have you already knocked out Twin Peaks? Will you watch the films week to week or have you seen them all?

BEEFCAKE

If you get an Amber Alert on your phone do you ever think to start a search party? How long after the alert do you forget the information? Because for me it's almost instantaneously

Please share a gaming experience that confirmed for you that "Gaming is Rad!" Late night gaming with my twin brother has always been special. Once we were playing Watchdogs II coop. I had found this alley full of guys that looked really hard to kill. I took cover and began to strategically plan our attack. I told my brother to approach quietly as to not prematurely draw their attention. Just then my brother came barreling through the alley from behind me in a truck. He crushed my body and smashed our would be enemies :) Strategy out the window. Blissful chaos. I laughed so hard I couldn't hold the controller anymore. Gaming is Rad! :)

Frostphorus

I happen to be going to Japan in November for my first anniversary, right after the opening of the Nintendo Museum! I've already put my name into the lottery to be able to visit. I'm also going to try to get one of the new Japan exclusive Hori steam controllers while I'm there. Any other suggestions for awesome japan exclusive gaming themed items or activities I should look for? bonus question: What are some of the best place exclusive gaming things you've ever heard of?

RickyWinterborn

Are there any weird sayings or catchphrases you heard as a kid that you still say? My friend’s cousin visited one summer and constantly said “Proba-blay” in a Wayne’s world type delivery that I still reference to this day.

Jason Wojnar

This week I was at my local cafe and John Lutz from 30 Rock walked in. I kindly approached him and we got a photo together. He was super nice and we had some great small talk since his wife is learning Ukrainian and it's my second language. I have over the years ran into many artists I really appreciate but who aren't necessarily a-listers. What was an encounter you had with someone who isn't a huge star but is someone whose work you appreciate very much.

HaulingGas

Mid-2000's means circa 2005 while mid-1900's means the 1940's to 1950's. At what point in time will we start using mid-2000's to refer to the years 2040 to 2050?

Sincerly, Eric

With about a month left in summer it had me thinking. What is the most "movie-like" moment in your life that you have experienced? It can be any Season. But think about those great coming-of-age movies and have any of you had a moment that felt right out of a movie? (For me it was being the first to jump into a pool fully clothed wearing jeans and a shirt with others joining later)

Joe Dean

I recently spent too much money buying the Control Art Book second hand. What is a piece of gaming or movie merch that you feel extremely self conscious about when you think about how much money you spent to buy it?

Fancygraham

Hey MinnMax! What’s something oddly satisfying that you don’t quite seek out, but enjoy doing if you’re forced to. For me, it’s scraping the ice off my windshield during winter. Thanks! Graham

So it's finally happening. With the Nintendo Museum video, we're witnessing the full Wonka-fication of Shigeru Miyamoto. He even has his own Oompa Loompas playing with those giant Wii Remotes! What surrealist atrocities will Miyamoto inflict upon those he invites for a tour during his secret search for a successor?

Derek Achoy

What if Nintendo had continued their bad naming habit from the Wii U and gave the Switch one of these names? Which has the best chance of still being as successful? - Nintendo Swapperoni - Nintendo Here-and-There - New Nintendo Wii U - Nintendo HomeBoy

CaffeineDad

Hey y’all! I’ve got a huge problem! So many of the games my friends and I have drafted in our FantasyCritic league are still slated for “2024” with no announcement in sight! Could you look at this list of games and tell me which ones you think are actually coming out this year and which ones we should consider dropping? Thanks a ton! - Hollow Knight Silksong - The Rise of the Golden Idol - Rift of the Necrodancer - Wanderstop - The Alters - The Wolf Among Us 2 - Lego Horizon Adventures - Metal Slug Tactics - Towerborne - Football Manager 2025 - Rivals 2 - Neva - Planet Coaster 2 - Europa - Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist

In a post-mustaches-are-funny world, what’s your favorite kind of facial hair to see on others?

RIDICULOUS GAME ALERT! As part of my better quest goals I'm trying to intentionally skill up at my current job while dreaming of future jobs, naturally. Today, I became an LSW in the state of Colorado - ANNNND - I learned how to tweak a mail merge script to make a mad libs rip off just for you. Introducing... 🕺🏽🚨 MAX LIBS EPISODE 1! 🚨🕺🏽 "___________ Jones and the __________ _____________" INSTRUCTIONS Fill out the fields in column C in the spreadsheet choosing adjectives, verbs, etc as playfully as you please. (Maybe too many fields but you could rapid fire em? Or pre-populate a few?) Your content will auto-populate in the google doc, writing, in real time, a profoundly dumb script teasing an Indiana Jones-esque radio drama. Roles have already been cast! Maybe don't read the script ahead of time so y'all are surprise? (Except for Ben as host?) Be dumb, have fun, let's gooooo! __ Google sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y17d64X81K7QvcgJZblhJ049UmQksQ0WFVQGYCURry8/edit?usp=sharing Google doc (script): https://docs.google.com/document/d/109X1lsy7wFNreUqVYTn9iPaGE0KnDiLL8bBi5mUVO8A/edit?usp=sharing

Which platforming mascot would you like to be sat next to on a long bus drive? What travel snacks would you share?

Boondock-Bandit

Whats your favorite unexpected musical number - real or fictional? I rewatched Umbrella Academy on Netflix, and was filled with joy by a surprise Footloose segment. (Umbrella Academy is not a musical I should point out)

Mason Parker

My wife recently began drinking bubbly, and I immediately said "that's what the Hanson and Leo drink I want to try one!" Unfortunately, it is horrible and I don't understand you guys or my wife loves for it. So my question is, what is something everyone loves, but you just don't like at all, whether it be a game, a drink, a food, and activity? Also Dr. Pepper for life, best soda hands down!

Bob Buel

What are the best video game credits ever?

Fancygraham

Hey MinnMax! I don’t really miss the days of multiplayer gameplay trailers where the people “playing” together were clearly reading off a script (example: Anthem). What trend(s) do you see in trailers nowadays you wish would stop? Thanks! Graham

Dennis Cortes

What is the most obscure item you think will be in the Nintendo museum?

MakeItUnclear

I heard the IOC recently approved Knife Eat as a new event for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Can you comment on what makes Knife Eat such a sensation that is sweeping the nation - and beyond?

Tom Brien

What's the best museum you've been to?

Felix davin

What is the proper level of intimacy to deliver puns to a person ? Do you run up to the first person you see in the morning to tell them a pun you thought about during the night, or do you have to sleep with someone before engaging in a pun on the pillow ? Cheers.

Riley

Hey Minnmax humans. I guess this falls under "getting better." Last October, I decided to give not smoking a try. Around the same time, I discovered Minnmax through the Deepest Dive for Alan Wake 2, as well as walking for exercise. I was listening to the podcast while walking and brilliantly walked right into a hole, injuring my knee. After a month on my back and doing my own deepest dive into the Minnmax catalog, I was able to stand on my knee for 15 minutes daily. I resumed walking asap. 10 months later, I walk 90 minutes four times a week and am still a non-smoker. Last Sunday was my 40th birthday and Monday was my first day of school to become a registered nurse. The podcast has been on a bit of a journey with me. Looking forward to (insert Asheville meetup plug)!

Brian Lyness

Hey all, I was browsing YouTube on my PS5 last week & up popped a 20 minute gameplay video for a game called 'Europa' the art looked gorgeous from the thumbnail so I went in & my goodness this game looks incredible. It's very Studio Ghibli inspired in it's art style & the environments look breathtaking. You can even see some Breath Of The Wild inspiration in there too. The developer is called Helder Pinto & the game is apparently due soon on PC. Has anyone at Minnmax been following this or have I missed any discussions about it on Bonus Pod? Thanks Brian

Harrison Holt

Hey MinnMax, What's your favourite type of fork? Do you like a big fork? Do you prefer it heavy or light? Plastic handle? Wooden? Or entirely stainless steel?

bizkiut (Nick S.)

Hey CLCs, With all the new Gen Z slang going around, what was your favorite slang from your childhood and teenage years?

Duderado

Your name is MinnMax, but what is your favorite game to min-max?

Tomhan

What time of day are you most effective? Do you ever take a nap during the day? With two kids my most productive time during the day has become earlier and earlier and is around 9:30am now. When I work from home I try to take a half hour nap around 12:30pm and that has been a game changer for afternoon productivity.

Thorn23

Hey Minnmax crew, for the parents out there - has having kids changed your view or love of gaming? (Predominately for JeffM Ben and Kyle 👍) anyone can contribute thou 😄

Justin Chen

What’s an interesting world’s colliding moment you’ve had? I realized from listening to something rotten that I work in the same org as Jacob’s dad. Also if I run into him, would he find it funny or weird if I said I liked his son’s work?

Noah

If starting today no new video games were ever released, do you think the ones that already exist would be enough to entertain you for the rest of your lives? Do you think you’d get sick of the hobby or are there enough games you haven’t played yet or timeless games that never get old that’d you’d be able to enjoy gaming to the same extent as now. Bonus question for Leo Vader: you briefly mentioned being friends with beanytuesday on a previous episode and I need to know how that happened
