If the PS5 Pro can offer 4K/60FPS gaming for $700, what are your predictions for what the PS6 will offer as an improvement, and how much will that cost?

Neal McMahon

This question may be different for games media versus a standard video gamer. How much do you prepare for a game? For you all, this may be not a game that you NEED to cover but a game that you personally want to go back to and explore for the first time. How do you know it’s the one? Watching the endless YouTube videos to determine if it worth it? Do you ever watch and research a bunch but then end up going with a different game?

Quillgrim

My best friend Patrick loves video games but refuses to listen to me about following podcasts like MinnMax because he’s not in the habit of listening to podcasts. What’s your advice for converting naysayers like him with as little bloodshed as possible?

NonBinaryBomb

Hey team! From Metro to The Witcher, some of my favorite games have gotten their inspiration from books. What's a book you read either as a kid or adult that you think would make a great game?

Cath

In one week I have played 8 of the 9 Lego Star Wars skywalker saga and by the time you read this in the pod I will have Lego finish the 9th. My question is this; with these game being so well written, true to the content yet funny and not afraid to poke fun at it, do you think we do not give credit enough to the writers of the legos games because “it’s only Lego and not a legit game” ?

Donald Wieden

Suspicious Developments, who made Tactical Breach Wizards also made Heat Signature, which I loved and feel didn't get enough attention. Are there any games by developers with modern hits, that had previous games you loved and didn't get the attention they deserved?

RickyWinterborn

Whats the best home video format? VHS? DVD? Blu-Ray? Laserdisc? Gameboy Advance Video cartridges of Spongebob?

Infinite

Hello friends, What’s your biggest gaming regret? Back when I was a younger (and dumber) lad, I had the hairbrained idea to trade in my PS2 and every piece of associated software and hardware to get an Xbox360. At the time I didn’t regret it, but over the years the loss of lesser known games like Shadow Hearts and its sequel Covenant still haunt me. Thanks, love the show!

Forest Lassman

I just saw my first big skeleton for Halloween season. What's your favorite skeleton in video games?

Ray Sweat

Hey! I have one of these fancy Android emulation devices and I'm looking for some good mobile games to add on there. What do y'all recommend?

Thom Blackburn

Let's think about games like we think about music. What is the video game equivalent to/example of: A duet? An opera? A remix? A waltz? Thanks, Thom Blackburn

Steve Bellegarde

Hey MinnMax! When the original dead rising came out. I was 13 years old so I totally bought into the two main gimmicks of the original dead rising, the 72 hour time limit and every item being a weapon. When the game came out I was a little disappointed to find that the 72 hours was highly abbreviated and not literally every object could be used. Did any of you ever have any delusions of the possible scope or feature a game could have?

Ryan

Hey cohorts! Jumping in to say that on last weeks discussion about the PS5, that the “PSSR” that was talked about already has existed for a couple years on PC in the form of DLSS on Nvidia cards (and something else on AMD cards I think), and what it does is use machine learning (not image generation) to upscale lower resolution pictures to higher ultra HD resolutions (4K) and inserting more frames in order to deliver high frame rates at high resolutions on systems that wouldn’t normally be able to achieve that. it’s actually really great tech for lower end PCs to be able to hit higher resolutions with stable framerates! Just clearing up some misconceptions about it because I know most people hear AI and think machine learning, but in this context it’s a really great software feature. Thanks yall! Ryan

BEEFCAKE

Has the Best video game That will ever be made already been made?

resident eva

hi cohorts!! what bands have y'all been listening to lately? i love hearing about what phase people are going through at the moment

Prodigal Horse

I hit a gaming dad milestone last week when I had to hand the controller to my 14 year old son to help me in an Astrobot bonus level instead of the other way around. My question is: how do you tell a 14 year old they’re no longer welcome in your house? Alternatively, what’s one of your core gaming memories that will always have a slot in your happy place?

John Scovic

Question for the panel: Remember last year when the MinnMax community got together and made a bunch of awesome games for the MinnHax community game jam? Well I have great news- MinnHax is back! MinnHax 2024 will be a month-long casual game jam open to all skill levels happening from October 1st to November 3rd in the MinnMax discord! Check out the #community-dev-and-coding channel or ask John "Killslayer" Scovic, lemonLimeBitta, or CrabPalace for more info or for help finding a team. If you've ever been interested in trying to make a game, now is your chance!

Maximilian Mackinnon

hypothetically if you ceased to exist right now, would you rather have a post-match replay style freecam view of everything that’s ever happened up until this point OR everything that will happen afterwards (up until the end of the universe)? me and my friends have argued about this for years so i’d love to hear your opinions. thanks!

Vilis

As we have a bevy of Fantasy themed games this week, and resident DM Charles Harte on hand, I was wondering if we could get his read on the new D&D Player's Handbook? I already know where my opinions lie, generally positive, but I feel like the community might like to hear a word from Charles on it.

Shinji

Last week you guys brought up how Satoshi Tajiri barely does interviews, and that reminded me that there’s a series of kids biographical manga in Japan about “important figures” that covers everything from Beethoven to Steve Jobs. That series has only one video game related issue, which happens to be about Satoshi Tajiri and the creation of Pokemon with consulting from Miyamoto of all people. If you had the chance to manifest a comic about any one person, be it related to video games or not, who would you want it to be about.

Joshua Ayers

When was the last time you played your favorite game?

SlyCut

Hello all, Remember game overs and limited continues? What game has the best game over/continue system? For example, my vote goes to Nightshade on the NES. When you get captured, the crime lord puts you into a Bond villain-esque death trap that you need to puzzle yourself out of. If you succeed, you may continue. If you fail, you die and it's a true game over. The death traps get more complex with each death until you reach the final death trap which is inescapable, representing that you are out of continues. This was absolutely mind blowing to me as a kid.

RiskyChrisP

How often do you have intrusive thoughts? Do you ever let them win?

CrabPalace

Watching me play Astrobot, my non-gamer partner remarked "so all you do the whole game is collect these little robots?" And I couldn't convincingly explain why that's the not point. Do you have any memories of non-gamers in your life providing surprising video game takes?

Nate Voris

Is throwing pasta against the wall to see if it is done cooking real or a myth? I got into what started as a silly argument and then almost became an actual argument with a friend over this. I thought it was a myth and we even looked it up to find most of the internet claims it's a myth, but my friend still insists it has to have some basis in fact. Please settle this dispute, thank you

Onlinesquid

What spot in the two tens are you three going to conspire to put UFO 50?

Michael Rohrssen

How do you you prioritize which games to play? Specifically for non-podcast purposes. Just vibes? Or do you think a bit about which games are more influential?

Rich Lynch

Has there ever been a bigger missed opportunity than Capcom not using the song Doctor! Doctor! to promote Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster?

Mike Lynch

Do you all remember the very first thing you looked up on the internet? (I looked up the Ramones in 1996 and got nothing but text results from magazine articles)

ChazCheeto

It's time for everyone's favorite gameshow: Gossip, Gilmore, or Golden (Girl(s))!! I've compiled a list of characters who only appeared on 1 episode of their respective TV Classic shows. I've provided the character name, actor, and year of the episode (all sourced from IMDB). Ben can decide if the year is too big of a clue. The panels' goal is to state which show they appeared in, between Gilmore GirlS, Gossip Girl, or Golden GirlS. For Ben's eyes only. The format below is character name (actor) (year): Gilmore: Uma Thurman (Kelly Mantle) (2001) Little Korean Boy (Elliott Cho) (2005) Young Lorelai Nurse #2 (Sharon Johnston) (2003) Gran's Kissing Man (Paul Michael) (2003) Gossip: Keith van der Woodsen (Matt Barr) (2009) Leader of the Yard Skull & Bones (Matt Burns) (2008) Officer Weiner (Amir Arison) (2012) Lady Gaga (Lady Gaga) (2009) Golden: Mister Terrific (Bob Dishy) (1988) Ham Lushbough (John Harkins) (1988) Jasper DeKimmel (Tony Steedman) (1989) Mother Superior (Kathleen Freeman) (1990)

Victor Pham

What are some remasters that you didn't expect would ever happen?

James Carr

Playing Funko Fusion this week made me wonder, does the more casual audience think review scores are too inflated because they don’t play enough bad video games? Also, what’s the worst game you’ve ever played?

Fred Dinovo

Idk man what's your greatest fear? Not death that's boring. Mine is death.

SirCrouchALot

Not on topic but what is your favorite movie tie-in game that actually wasnt that good? I have a soft spot for the Batman Begins game on PS2, and I have not played it since it came out but I was surprised, when I looked it up recently, that it had such panned reviews. But I’m fine with it living in my memory as a good game.

Greekanese

What video game franchise that does not currently have a dedicated concert series (i.e. Distant Worlds, NieR:Orchestra, etc) would you most want to exist?

Dylan Holck

I just finished playing 13 Sentinels for the first time and adored the art style of the visual novel portion of the game, almost like a watercolor painting that makes you feel like you are experiencing a memory. The art style reminded me of Dordogne which I played on game pass last year, a short narrative experience of a woman exploring her memories of her family’s home. I guess watercolor = nostalgia! What is one of your favorite artstyles in a game, maybe that you wish other creators would borrow from more often?

Devin Atlee-Nutts

Hey MinnMaxers, Last weekend I got heavily invested in the world cup tournament for a very unlikely esport, competitive Geoguessr! (the game about finding your location from randomised Google Streetviews) It remains the only esport I've had any interest in watching and I was absolutely hooked! The game is intuitive to understand and the commentary explains how their guesses are informed, making it accessible and sometimes educational. The skill on display was undeniably impressive and the grand final was an incredible match! Have you ever been surprised by how compelled you are by a niche competitive event? Cheers, Tom

Travis in Fargo

Anyone excited for that new Penguin show? Also, what if they made a Mr. Freeze series?

Josh64

Hi MinnMax! What’s a game you didn’t think you’d like but ended up loving? For me, Red Dead Redemption 2’s maturity came as a huge surprise given how I haven’t liked Rockstar’s more juvenile past. Have any of you had any similar experiences?

Travis in Fargo

Which “chip” has had the greatest impact on humanity: chips (also known as crisps), chocolate chips, microchips, or ships (also known as “boats”)?

Chandler

Do you think eventually we'll stop adding games to our definition of "retro"? Since retro is a bit ambiguous what I'm really thinking is that eventually the technology of our games will slow down so much that there won't be any clear way to distinguish new games from old games. It's easy to tell an N64 game from a GameCube game. I have a hard time believing we'll ever have an easy time telling a PS4 game from a PS5 game. And I bet the distinction will only continue to get more difficult. Also is Farmville a retro game?

Travis in Fargo

I actually love hearing about people’s dreams. What’s your stance on this, and do you want to take this opportunity to talk about a dream you’ve had?

Victor Garcia

Hi, everyone. The retro Deepest Dive of Mirror's Edge just ended, and I'll be honest that that game still seems too new to me to considered "retro". What are your dumb arbitrary cutoffs for what is considered a retro game. Do you go by the 20-year rule? The 2-generation rule? For me, the GameCube/PS2/Xbox generation is where the cutoff is primarily because that was the last gen before HD (720p) consoles came out. We were still playing primarily on a CRT TV and games were, mostly, at 480i that generation. Things are different for handhelds though since none of that applies but the DS and PSP would be my current cutoff for those.

FelixA

Hi Cohorts! Just wanted to share that the FFXVI soundtrack is now available for streaming. The game had a lot of highs and lows for me, but ultimately that soundtrack really was what what kept me going. Do you think the Theatrhythm Final Bar Line will ever come to PC? If so when? Over/Under this year? I seriously want this to run natively on my Steam Deck.

Travis in Fargo

Without knowing what either thing is, would you rather have a flaptop or a scablet?

David Dubs

Hey Gang, do you have any gaming red flags? Basically any mechanics or features that start sounding off in your head that you're about to not enjoy whatever is coming.

Travis in Fargo

Have you ever been really into a band that was considered by most to be a “one hit wonder,” aka a “single song sally?”

DJ Tommy Pizza

Websters defines retro as: "relating to, reviving, or being the styles and especially the fashions of the past : fashionably nostalgic or old-fashioned." Coming off the Deepest Dive of Mirror's Edge, would anybody on the pod describe that as "retro"? If there were to be another "retro" Deepest Dive, what game would you want it to be?

Jesse Bengel

I know you get “dev + licensed IP” questions all the time, but is there a specific game mechanic that has made you really want a certain developer to tackle a specific licensed IP? For me it was the horse mechanics and animations in Red Dead 2 really making me hope that one day Rockstar would make a AAA Game of Thrones game. Not to mention the beautiful natural environments and open world mastery (including all the other animals roaming the world), it just seems like a Rockstar Game of Thrones game would be a slam dunk. Open world Westeros (or even just a kingdom or two)? Count me in.

Ellie Grkman

If you had the same exact job title you do now (journalist/podcaster/freelancer/content creator) with the same reach (able to make a living off of it), what industry would you choose to take your skills? For example, Charles. If his job wasn't podcasting and writing about games, what other facet of life and pop culture would he critique? Would he become a sports writer? Review fancy restaurants? Podcast about the intense socioeconomic situations in Trinidad and Tobago? Etc.

Qax

Just got into League of legends recently. Any games or hobbies you discovered later in life and thought "huh, I get this now" or "if I would've discovered this when I was younger, this would've been my personality"

Michael Griffin

What is your favorite signed gaming collectible or piece of memorabilia? I have an NES copy of Metroid signed by rapper Sammus (she's an indie artist in a similar style of Mega Ran and is really awesome).

Derek Achoy

What's something that makes you happy that you can see from where you're sitting right now? (or standing, if Leo is standing ♥)

Dylan Caudill

Heya MinnMaximists You can bring one historical figure to the future and and show them one game. Who do choose and what game do you show them?

tuxpeng

What do you think is the song you've heard the most throughout your life? Doesn't necessarily have to be your favorite or even one you like, just what has probably pierced your ear holes the most!

SenttheProphet

Does the PS5 Pro being shipped without a disk drive - confirm to you that PS6 will be similar? Is this the last generation of disks, or do we have one more to go?

Charles

This question is for Charles specifically. Is Legs Butt?

Dusty Beaman

Hello cohorts, always love the show! Great podcast with Kelsey about video game preservation too. Question: what game is the most notable on your started yet unfinished list? This could be the most well-known or the one you are most well-known for. Example: Jeff M obviously would have to choose Red Dead 2 regardless of whether he has a more well known game than that because it is legendary at this point that he "is going to finish it." Still waiting.....

Chris Cwik

What’s something relatively normal that irrationally bothers you? For example, I can’t watch videos of actors being asked to do voices of their animated characters on demand. It makes me second-hand embarrassed for some reason.

Sabai

What was your signature college meal?

Jeorin

Howdy MinnMax crew, Is Nintendo going to have to change Diddy Kong's name, now?

Travis in Fargo

Hear me out: Nintendo should call their next console the “SWiiTCH,” pronounced “Sweech,” which harkens back to one of their best selling, beloved consoles: the Wii. The same name could also be pronounced “Switooch,” because of the Roman numeral 2, and obviously Stanley Tucci would be the obvious fit for a product spokesperson. Thoughts?

Kris

Minnmax crew if you had to box a historic figure to a. Save the life of a loved one or b. To secure the bag as the kids say who are you picking and how many rounds til you get a knock out.

Sean

Hey minnmax, How many games do you juggle at any given time? I usually have at least two single player games and a multiplayer game on rotation but for the past couple weeks I was juggling 5 games total. Not to mention all the random 100 hour games I’m technically still in the middle of

saibher (cyber)

How the heck does Ben Hanson get all these industry deep cuts? Is it the word of mouth? the ex-GI status? That john romero interview was so good

Forrest

Listening to the recent game history preservation podcast got me thinking: What is meaningful to you about video games as a medium compared to others? The stories around games (e.g., the craft, the community) seem to be just as impactful--if not more so--than the games themselves sometimes.

SuperCerberus

What are some classic video game tropes that you never get tired of? I’m a sucker for fake credits like in Donkey Kong Country and Sunset Overdrive.

Sanders

What did you do as a kid that got you into the most amount of trouble with your parents?

Tokyo Game Life

Let’s say Capcom releases a fighting game called MinnMax vs Capcom and it scores 85 on Metacritic. How many copies is it selling? For reference, Street Fighter 6 sold four million copies.

Phelix Diaz

Question for Chuck Harte, but other cohorts are welcome to jump in. If you could respec yourself? How would you redistribute your current skill points? You determine what your current skills are and they don't have to adhere to specific DnD skills.

Lamb Dance

Hey Gang, if you're so blessed as to have a retirement in a stable world when you're older - how do you think you'll spend your retirement?

Trapezoid

This question is mostly for Kelsey, mostly, but happy to hear all takes on it. With the recent death of Concord and the remaining physical copies being recalled by Sony, is there any universe in which a physical copy of Concord becomes a rare collectible item? Does the fact that you literally couldn’t play it if you wanted to at this point have an effect on any potential future value? Also, can you tell I bought a copy of Concord after the announcement of them shutting down the servers in hopes it might be worth something someday?

Hovercow

Hi crew, have any of you guys looked into the handheld emulator market? Devices like the Miyoo Mini, Retroid Pocket, Anbernic RG35XXSP (yes that's it's real name), or the Analogue Pocket just to name a few. These devices are usually made to be as portable as possible while typically letting you emulate up to the Gamecube/PS2 era. Often times they have a sleep feature that's suspends what you're playing with the press of a button making it super easy to pick up where you left off regardless of a game's in-built save function. I myself have been using one most often for breaks at work or really any time I have to wait for something. It's been really nice to be able to get a quick run of tetris in and then just throw this console into my pocket worry-free. Do you see any kind of personal value in being able to play something in this short of a burst or have I been influenced by my youtube algorithm once again, telling me that I need this cool thing? Hovercow from Aurora, Illinois

Fancygraham

Hey MinnMax! I pass a lot of people in the hallway at the school I teach at. Can you equip me with something else to say when someone asks “how’s it going?” other than “good”, “oh y’know, it’s going”, or “living the dream”? Thanks! Graham

Nubbyy

Hey Minnmax, If you had to guess, what percentage of games that you own have you never played, not even once? I recently used the SteamDB site to look up my steam library and the results were pretty surprising: Out of my 266 games owned, 85 of them are unplayed. That means I've only ever played 67% of the games I own on steam. Of the games I have played, 51 of them were for less than one hour. 45 of them were for 12 hours or more.

Abe

Hey gang. 🇵🇷Puerto Rican here correcting your pronunciation of china / orange which is “chee-nah” not the English pronounciation of China lol! Additionally, I’m challenging myself to commit to Spooky Season media where I am playing and watching spooky / horror games and films. Do you guys have any similar or unique traditions around this time ? Could just be a particular game or movie you go back to. Thanks!

Cody A

Hey, what's the best tv theme song? My pick is the DuckTales theme song.

Geebeesee

What's the best cheese?

Hello crew! I’ve been listening to the Mirror’s Edge deepest dive and having a lot of fun playing along as well. It’s perhaps one of the most pinnacle ps3/360 feeling games in a while. This feeling is only really continuing with the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster out this week. My question to the crew is what do you miss most from the seventh generation of games? Is PS3/360 nostalgia alive and real right now and what can we learn from it and implement into games today?

wittynicknamehere .

It had the misfortune of releasing one week before Astro Bot stormed in and blotted out the sun, but I'm wondering if any of the cohorts gave The Casting of Frank Stone a try? I loved Until Dawn, liked several of the Dark Pictures Anthology, and... tolerated The Quarry. And this new one looked interesting enough. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Andrew Wiggins

I grew up with a potbelly pig we named Pork-chop. We didn’t live on a farm but a small suburban home in Florida. He had his own room, loved watermelon, and would slip and slide all over the tile floors. Eventually, my mom moved out of state and she had to get rid of the pig. She told me they found a farm for Pork-chop to live on… It wasn’t until a decade later, in my early 20s, that I realized there’s no way Pork-chop was sent to a farm. And in fact, it’s very likely we ate Pork-chop… Anyone else believe a lie they were told as a kid only to realize the truth much later into adulthood?

Chris H

Hi cohorts ! In honor of the Video Game History Org's awesome retro magazine subscription -- what's your favorite printed ad for a video game? I still remember the Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire adds with folks who looked just like their pokemon of choice

Chris Pelley

How many reasons to be thankful do you have written down already? Are there any games that help you to embrace fall and feel hopeful? (Fall and winter tend to feel overwhelming for me.)

CaffeineDad

Hey y’all! I was washing dishes and fondly thinking about my favorite show Knife Eat when I realized that I too knife eat (sort of)! I eat almost everything with a fork and knife so I don’t get my hands dirty, including hamburgers, nachos, and especially greasy pizzas. What are your unique food preferences? Some might include “food can’t touch on your plate” or “never finish a drink to avoid backwash.”

Jesse Repak

WHAT THE HECK IS A SALAD??!! My circle of friends has this multi-year running debate, and we deeply need the power of the MinnMaxers to solve it once and for all! The answer seems obvious, but don't be deceived! Here are just a few of the salads that have left us in tears when trying to define this elusive foodstuffs: Tuna salad Macaroni salad Fruit salad Wedge salad (single ingredient in a giant slab) Taco salad breaks my brain completely Roast vegetable salad Good luck guys. The world is counting on you

Andrew Clabaugh

Hey MinnMax! I recently had a dream where David Lynch announced he was working on his first ever videogame… set to release exclusively on the Playdate. What’s the weirdest or funniest videogame related dream you’ve had?

Graham Jones

Hey gang! After the discussion of PS 5 pro on last week's show, I was wondering the cohorts thoughts on the business moves PlayStation is making with its recent hardware. It seems that they have missed the mark of what their audience wants and is requesting with the PS VR 2 and now have taken an additional risk with the PS5 pro. Do you think this is a fundamental misunderstanding of the future of PlayStation or do they feel like they have more freedom to experiment because of the success of the PS5 sales? Also, do you think that this mid gen refresh will reduce the hardware improvements they can advertise when it comes to revealing the PS6?

Galexzzz

Hey MinnMax crew! I’m going to the Tokyo Game Show next week and it’s gonna be my first time ever at a gaming convention like this (I never had the chance to go to E3 before it died RIP). Do you guys have any fun memories from the first time you went to a big gaming convention? Also, if you do happen read this question out on the show, I’d love to meetup with any of MinnMax community that may be going to TGS as well! You can find me at “Galexzzz” in the Discord!

Josh LaBaw

Howdy Cohort's. What is the best cheese for a grilled cheese sandwich.

Tess

Whats your favorite Indie game that's over 2 years old? It feels like so many really great games get forgotten so quickly because people can't bundle them together with a big publisher. It'd be nice to try and actively remember some great indie games that aren't the few absolute all-timers that break through.

Dylan Kuzel

Hey Minnmax crew! What game have you played that’s felt the most like a real job?

Bob Buel

Does anyone have video game cut scenes that they will regularly re-watch on YouTube?

mantaguy

A few years ago, you did an episode on the greatest games of all time that no one talks about. Have you considered doing an episode on the greatest game soundtracks of all time that no one talks about?

John

Do “well, technically…” comments make the show better? So, orange is totally a color. Every color in the rainbow corresponds to light of a particular energy. Blue light has more energy than red light so as you move along roygbiv you get colors with more and more energy. One photon of orange light has around 2 electron volts of energy. This is small. If you had an orange photon for every dollar in the us national debt it would be enough energy to cause a small ant to levitate one millimeter. Purple is another story. Colors we perceive near magenta or lavender don’t correspond to a color of light. It is a figment of our human perception. So while the color orange existed before humanity. Purple, as we know it, did not. -Arrogant Physicist

If you were a zombie in a mall, which area would you hang out in and why?

Are there any good PvE games where you play as the zombie/monster against resourceful humans coming at you with lawnmowers, mannequin limbs, and the like?

You know in video games when you can pet the dog or cat and they're all cute about it? Is that actually satisfying more than once or twice? Why or why not?

Howdy cohort! Playing through Astro Bot has really got me itching to dive into PlayStation’s history. I had a PS1 as a kid and the PS5 is my first PlayStation console since then. What games from PlayStation’s past would you consider ESSENTIAL GAMING™ (preferably on ps+ premium or just generally playable on PS5 but I’ll take any and all suggestions)?

Bryden

Hey MinnMax, when it comes to a busy time of the year for game releases how do you plan out what you want to focus on? Do you mark a couple of personal must-plays and let friend/industry chatter lead you to other games that pique your interest? Or do you have a more specific process than that? Especially since you all have different responsibilities (work and outside of it) I'm interested in hearing how you organize and make time to play! - Bryden

notweirder

Hey all, based off Kinda Funny's recent gift-giving to Hideo Kojima, I was wondering: what would it be like if you took part in a game dev secret santa? I've listed twenty iconic game developers, all you have to do is pick a number in that range and let us know what game you'd gift to that developer. P.S. I attached a game to their name in case anyone is drawing a blank :) 1: Fumito Ueda (Shadow of the Colossus) 2: Randy Pitchford (Borderlands) 3: Sid Meier (Civilization) 4: Toby Fox (Undertale) 5: Amy Hennig (Uncharted) 6: Yuji Naka (Sonic) 7: Hideki Kamiya (Bayonetta) 8: Peter Molyneux (Fable) 9: Todd Howard (Elder Scrolls) 10: Hironobu Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy) 11: Alexey Pajitnov (Tetris) 12: Tim Schafer (Psychonauts) 13: Jade Raymond (Assassin's Creed) 14: Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil) 15: Shigeru Miyamoto (Mario) 16: Hidetaka Miyazaki (Dark Souls) 17: Roberta Williams (King's Quest) 18: Keita Takahashi (Katamari Damacy) 19: Derek Yu (Spelunky) 20: Bennett Foddy (QWOP)

I've noticed recently that my approach to gaming has changed over the last couple decades. Every game I play I have to 100% everything in a single playthrough, check every corner of every map, do every side quest, get all the collectibles, see every dialogue option, etc. Whereas when I was younger I would instead use multiple playthroughs to see any content I missed. Have you noticed any change in your approach to gaming over the years, for better or for worse?

Hi y'all! Erlier this week the interview with John Romero and Jordan Mechner showed up on the feed and I was just sitting there like "THE John Romero"? "THE Jordan Mechner?" how many times have I heard those names?! Kelsey already said it was her dream conversation but is there anybody else you could interview about game preservation that tops this? (answer can be no!)

HelloAndre!

My brother recommended Star Citizen to me. I watched him play it for a few hours and I concluded that that game is 100% not for me. What’s a game that you would consider 100% not for you? That way people can stop recommending things like that to you.

HelloAndre!

Somebody on the pod recommended “the terror“ as a get a load of this. Recommend more great shows. What are ya watching.

Hey minnmax, what do you think the next new medium of art will be? I think video games were probably the last one and animation before that, but what will be next?

I was at a concert recently and for charity, they auctioned off letting somebody smash a guitar on stage to any song of their choosing. The woman who won got a little carried away and threw the broken guitar into the crowd. Miraculously, no one was hurt. What's the wildest, most dangerous thing you've seen performed at a live event? Not including circuses or Coney Island-style stunts like sword swallowing or walking on glass.

Hey Minnmaxers, I’ve been thinking about how Concord wasn’t necessarily a bad game but still failed spectacularly - what are instances of the opposite? What are the most successful ’bad’ games ever?

Hey gang! Question for everyone but mostly for Leo, has anyone checked out Hunt Showdown yet? It's been out for a few years but it recently received a big update. For those unfamiliar it's game where you play in teams of 2 or 3 against other teams in persuit to hunt a monster, collect its bounty and extract. The te twist is that the moment you finish banish the monster and grab the bounty everyone can see where you are. It takes places in the 1800's and the game has sytle for days!

Collecting the various bots in Astro Bot has made it really stick out how completely Sony's whole vibe has changed from artsy counterculture to buttoned-up Hollywood professionalism. Do you think this is the endgame for Sony, or will the types of games they make shift again? (Possibly due to increasing budgets?)

Tinfoil hat time? Sony isn’t worried about selling the PS5 Pro at launch. They just want the base PS5 to look more appealing, and they want a ‘best box’ ahead of GTA6. What do you think? -Manick_T

Which season of the year do you find yourself gaming more?

What would you say is your most "plucky" attribute?

Hi Minnmax, I just moved into a small apartment with my partner and I am having trouble picking which retro console I should take out of storage and setup in our living room. I have most just all them from the NES generation to now. If you were in my shoes, what would you pick for yourself?
