This week on Bonus Pod, host Haley MacLean is joined by Leo Vader to discuss a genre that often doesn't get discussed: number-go-up, brain-go-off idle games. Does the genre not get discussed for good reason? You decide!

Here’s a link to the video version of this episode, including the gameplay of the idle games we're playing while talking. It wouldn't be an accurate conversation about the genre if we weren't playing them while pretending to work.

Thanks so much for supporting and unlocking Bonus Pod. You can call into future episodes of Bonus Pod via Discord by joining the MinnMax Council tier, episodes record every Monday at 4pm Central.

Podcast enjoyer here and incremental/clicker superfan. I've played a ton of these and was so excited to see it as the topic today and wish I could've been there live to partake in the discussion.

This conversation reminds me of my notion of Stanley from Stanley Parable playing the basic plot of Slay the Princess every day and saying "Hurray, I saved the world!" after 5 minutes and this being an interesting cycle. This is what extended satisfaction from idle games makes me think of. That said, I love Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, but I think you'll mostly only enjoy it if you're a D&D nerd.

Legend Slime is the perfect Number-go-up game.
