Hey everybody! Ben Hanson here debuting something new and fun from MinnMax. As you probably know, MinnMax's Kelsey Lewin co-owns several Pink Gorilla Games stores in Seattle and has a wild knowledge of game history and game prices. We thought it would be fun to invite game developers with a ton of experience in the industry by one of her stores as they shop for retro games and highlight their biggest inspirations and while sharing insight on games they worked on as well. Yes, this series was inspired by Criterion's Closet Picks.

Consider the first episode of Retro Game Treasures a test pilot, we want to gauge the reaction before committing to creating a full, new series here at MinnMax. We have a lot on our plate at the moment, thanks for the warm reception to our new podcast Pew Pew Bang by the way... subscribe on your favorite podcast app! The better this test pilot for Retro Game Treasures does, the better guests we can recruit in the future for hypothetical more episodes. So any help sharing it online is very much appreciated.

We're honored for the test pilot to be joined by Camouflaj's founder Ryan Payton, coming off the success of directing Batman: Arkham Shadow. Before that, Ryan worked on the Metal Gear Solid series, Halo 4, Marvel's Iron Man VR, and more. You can learn about his full career in this MinnMax Interview from 2022. As always, thanks for making an independent outlet like MinnMax possible through your support here on Patreon, we hope we're making you proud with our work in 2025 so far!

You can unlock the extended (35-minute) version of this video by joining the $10 Backstage Pass tier, where you'll also get access to our Game of the Year post-show debate "Pissy Zone", extended versions of our travelogues, the extended Game Informer office tour, and more. Oh, and you can watch live/unedited archives for all episodes of The MinnMax Show and vote on New Show Plus every week. Thank you!
