My dad has a picture of a bike riding race in our garage. I go out of my way to play every game in a series I love or watch all the movies in a franchise before seeing the latest entry, but most of the time I find within a year or so I’ve forgotten enough details that I need a refresher anyway. Hey Minimum Marxists! Last week's discussion of the new Hobbit game (and specifically, Haley calling out small ideas that she found appealing but weren't fully explored) got me wondering: what concepts or mechanics did you love in an otherwise terrible game? I, for one, really wish the steak cooking mini game in 1,2, Switch! could have been "fleshed" out into its own cooking game. Chopping, frying, plating, all with the motion controls and the hd rumble could have been awesome!

Whats up MinnMax?!? What’s the most relaxing or stratifying chore for you? My wife always jokes that I mow the lawn too often just so I can get away from the kids for an hour. Though I don’t love mowing, it is a nice hour with little distractions to put on a pod and makes some lines in the grass. Also, seeing the long grass cut down to nice clean line is very satisfying. Because of that, it’s one of the only chores I don’t mind doing.

Hey all! With Nintendo giving Kirby Air Ride a new entry on the Switch 2, what other overlooked GameCube games do you think deserve a second chance on Switch 2? Personally, I would love to see Nintendo give Chibi-Robo another chance, especially with GameCube games just announced for the Nintendo Online subscription. I adored the original’s unique style and gameplay, and I’d love to see what fun new ideas they could bring to a sequel or reboot of the series.

I was surprised to hear about the backlash to the original documentary, as I always viewed it as being pretty fair. You recently mentioned views on the recent travelogue were down. I am one of those who haven't watched it yet. Recently with MinnMax I have found that there is too much content and I can't keep up. The extra podcasts over the Summer have backed up on my podcatcher (I have other I need to listen to weekly) and I haven't gotten to most of the recent videos. MinnMax is a rare outlet where I wish they would slow down the content, or have less of it. I would still pay every month if there was a quarter , a third, or even a half less content. I would also be curious to hear if while the travelogue views were down, if overall listens/views were up for the month because there was so much content, just listener/viewership is spread out more. Sorry if this is coming out negative, just want to give my two cents based on the conversation. Don't end Pew Pew Bang, though, that show is hilarious. Thank you for reading.

On a recent vacation to Canada, I took a short detour to visit Brock University and Brockville in Ontario. I recently hopped on to fortnite (a little indie game I've been told) with my kiddo for the first time and was kinda mortified to see that there was a juice world skin - Juice world sadly passed away years ago and it felt icky to have an option to pay to look like him in the game. What is the worst or most absurd question you've ever heard anyone ask at a Q&A. I have numerous examples from Q&A sessions I have been to but the one that makes the best story is the time someone at a press screening for the hitman movie asked Zachary Quinto if his character had sexual tension with Agent 47 because he is an openly gay actor. Quinto then spent about 3-5 minutes lecturing the journalist on why the question was dumb, harmful, and thoughtless. The peak moment was when he finished answering the question and the microphone was passed to someone else, only for him to be like "wait wait wait, I got more to say" and he took the mic back and kept talking about how unprofessional that question was. The whole theater was on his side and applauded his response.

Heya Minnmax, time to stretch your brain as this recent title Öoo got me thinking: do the folks at Minnmax actually know what all those funky pronunciation symbols are and what they mean? (They're called Diacritical Marks, btw) For example, Öoo is using umlauts which are defined as "a mark ( ¨ ) used over a vowel, as in German or Hungarian, to indicate a different vowel quality, usually fronting or rounding." A circumflex is an upside down v over a letter meant to indicate it should be longer sounding, famously used in D&D for Faerûn. Just thought it might be a fun quiz to see who knows what.

When I got my playstation 2, the first game I got for the system was WRC 2: Extreme (World Rally Championship). I wanted to validate the theory that the freezer on the top of a fridge makes sense because of physics and engineering. I am neither a physicist or an engineer but I am reading “Frostbite” by Nicola Twilley. A book about the impact refrigeration on the world. She writes that a fridge with a top mounted (separate door) freezer wasn’t introduced until the 40s. The freezer was on the top because cold air sinks and the fridge and freezer use the same compressor. So making the coldest part on top makes sense. It wasn’t until 1957 that someone figured out how to put the freezer on the bottom! Thank you for your work and oddly validating my time reading this odd but good book!

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree has now sold over 10 million copies, Cyberpunk saw continued success following Phantom Liberty, Astro Bot had some amazing challenge levels that kept people coming back, and Ghost of Yōtei Legends DLC will be free next year. Hi Minnmax. Tell me I'm not the only one that's annoyed when a game makes you unlock difficulty modes, seems to me like the type of thing that should always be accessible right from the start even if it's a crazy-hard mode that shouldn't be played first. Final Fantasy loves doing this.I recently picked up Pikmin 3 Deluxe, excited to play a harder version of the game as I quit the original mainly because it was too easy for my tastes and had no difficulty options, only to find out they added an even easier mode and they want me to beat the whole game to unlock the privilege of playing it on hard mode. Thanks for giving me a place to vent about this.
