What’s the weirdest thing on your bucket list?

Mike Lynch

What would everyone on the pod right now have as the name of their biography?

Badmonsterman

What is the single worst thing a company can do for you to lose interest in their project or product?

Daniel May

Hi everyone, for those with pets, what's the one luxury item you want to get your little buddies?

Neal McMahon

Hey MM, I was at Disney World recently and looked at the map in the Disney World app looking for an exit. After realizing that I was halfway across the park from my target destination, the thought came through my head, “I’ll just fast travel”. My question is: do I play too many video games? Do you ever play something so much that it bleeds into your life? Thanks!

WeGoGiant

Very important question, since they announced it this year does the $100 Virtual Boy Headset count for Dumbest Thing 2025? Or since it's releasing next year should it have to wait until 2026?

Jacob Mazanowski

In honor of the prize, what is an art style you would like to see in a game that you have not seen as much of? I think a full animated pointillism art style would be awesome.

L Stockler

Howdy. When was the last time you did something for the first time and what was it?

HaulingGas

Hey happy podcasters, How often do you actually genuinely laugh at something when you're alone? I tend to send lots of "lols" and laughing crying emojis to friends and family, or watch shows that I think are funny, but it's rare that my reaction is anything more than a light chuckle in reality.

Travis in Fargo

You know the trope: “easy to learn, difficult to master?” Are there any video games that are the opposite: “difficult to learn, easy to master?” Does that make sense?!?

SofaKingLucky

Hey team! Theoretically, If Nintendo decided to sue you for using MinnMax as a name (surprise, it’s actually a Pokémon’s name now. So sad). What would you change the name to?

John Scovic

2XKO just released in Closed Beta with a full 1.0 launch happening soon, and it's the most excited I've been for a game release in years. I've been absolutely devouring every piece of content about the game and when I'm not playing it, I'm thinking about it. What does being excited for a game look like for you in 2025? Are you refreshing developer social media, rewatching trailers, speculating on Reddit? How has this changed since you were younger?

MrButtons

Hey MinnMax! Inspired by the most recent PewPewBang episode, what was your favorite or most comforting family recipe as a child?

Koke Kodoro

Hello Minnesota Maximums! I recently played Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time, and for the first 5 hours or so I didn't understand it or like almost anything about it. However, I kept playing and everythimg started to fall into place, and I ended up finishing the game and DLC, enjoying every bit of it. Has this ever happened to you? That for the first couple hours you don't like a game, but if you keep pushing, end up loving it?

Cath

Am I basic if I am excited by pumpkin spice latte? I already got my first one of the season last week. What make you a basic bitch?

CaffeineDad

Hey gang! What was the last thing you read that had you excited to read more? For me, it’s a new manga called Someone Hertz that dropped in Shonen Jump last week. It’s about a boy and girl who write joke submissions into a comedy podcast every week. The girl’s submissions always get read, but the boy’s never do, so they obviously have to do a training montage so the boy can get funnier. The subtle romantic tension between the two made for a cute first chapter, and I’m eager to see it go further!

Travis in Fargo

Who here had a Virtual Boy, or what’s your experience with it? I got one for Christmas when I was a kid, and I honestly loved the heck out of it. I can still feel the browsweat and smell the foam visor.

Aging_Poorly

What’s the most “gettable” item on your bucket list and what’s your excuse for not having knocked it off yet?

That's Mildly Raven

Everyone on the planet has unanimously decided that swear words are no longer bad, and swearing is now acceptable in all situations. How long until it loses its lustre? Would you continue to say the occasional swear? Or would you think there's no point anymore?

Christopher Foster

On the theme of Pew Pee Bang’s most recent episode: What game has the best looking food and what’s your favorite looking meal from that game?

Infinite

If the Boss recruited you to the Cobra Unit, what emotion would you be that you yell dramatically as you explode and die? Personally, mine would be, “AWKWAAAAARD” *boom*

Random Oil Man

What two games do you think would be most interesting to smash together? And what would it look / play like?

Victor Pham

Who is your favorite superhero?

Mac

I can never get enough of Brendon Bigley discussing Silksong even with the 2 hour Into the Aether last week. Any chance for a max spoilers on the game? Brendon, Jacob, and Janet are three of my favorite game critics and it would be really special to have them all in a room together, especially given their differing and passionate takes.

Travis in Fargo

I want to give a special shoutout to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - a game I didn’t actually like that much, but it did something better than most AAA games these days: made the in game font easily readable from a living room’s distance away. What’s a game you didn’t necessarily love, but had a standout feature you want to applaud?

Juniper Cain

Hi all! The conversation around Silksong has reignited debates around 'thematic intent' that often comes up with Soulslikes or intentionally difficult games broadly. Some people will say that they find a game unfairly designed, others will reply that it's *meant* to feel cruel, because the world of the game itself is a cold harsh place. Where do you tend to fall on this spectrum? How do you as reviewers critically differentiate between "this is deliberately unfriendly for thematic purposes" and "themes aside, this is imbalanced"?

PoorAndCurly

Hey Minnmax, Congrats to Jacob on the new book and the upcoming wedding! I got married in Isle of Skye, Scotland earlier this year and it was absolutely worth it! For the married people, what is something in your wedding that went "wrong" but ended up being okay/great?

Thom Blackburn

You have winter. What is the DEFINITIVE best cough drop?

Travis in Fargo

What song or sound do you hear and instantly know you’re in for a great time?

Matt - Scalith

Hi howdy from Australia at 6am, I'm curious what your favorite bad liscensed game is? For me it's Barnyard on the PS2, it's like a weird chill animal crossing esque experience but with more gameplay and far more infamous for weird dialogue. (There's a lot of you google)

Swansonge

Imagine a Venn diagram with one side being “indie game” and the other side being “rogue game”. What are your 2025 predictions for best games in each of those categories, as well as their overlap?

Sky Fellowship

Are you as surprised that randomisers haven't become an actual mode in gaming? The randomiser communities are pretty big with Metroidvanias, Elden Ring, Zelda and a whole bunch more. Which I see the appeal, as it's a great way for people who truly know the game, to get together and prove that knowledge. Which can be fun to watch as someone whom doesn't know or contribute in chat as someone whom does. But currently, outside of fan made mods, some of which are a lot better than others, it feels like a very over looked mode rife with oppurtunity. Imagine the next Echoes Of Wisdom dropping with a randomiser mode, that you unlock after 100% completion (Because Nintendo of course would require you prove that you know the game 100% to unlock it). A game all about solving puzzles in very different ways is probably the perfect test case, people would stream it long after the initial streaming window that games of the zeitgeist moment of the week get, thus continuing the free advertising for the game for weeks to come. It feels odd that devs don't try this currently, cause surely the dev team could implement it with much better success than a mod team too, don't get us wrong beaten the Elden Ring rando (And Erdtree) a few times and while it is a brilliant mod, it has some very nasty jank at times too. Apologies for the chaos, ADHD and dyslexia sometimes pick the worst times to combine their super powers, rewritten this a few times now and this is the best it's getting lol

Travis in Fargo

Did you hit up any good yard sales this summer?

Duderado

What's a minor game mechanic that you always enjoy despite not having much functional impact? I like having a dedicated button for holstering a weapon.

kajmo

How often do you sharpen your knives? (Kitchen, or otherwise)

Fancygraham

Can we settle where we’re at with early access? For some games, it’s great (see: Fields of Mistria). For some, it’s to its detriment (see: Rogue Prince of Persia). Some games are so good already that they are personal GOTY material. But they’re not officially released yet, so does that count them out? Can they be included in two GOTY debates? Both when they’re in early access and then when they’re in 1.0? (See: Grimshire)

Brennan Pendrake

Hello Minnmax! I am a fan of big games. I am drawn to open worlds, epic RPG stories, and endlessly replayabke roguelikes. The problem is, when a new game like Elden Ring comes out, everyone else beats it and moves on before I'm even halfway through. Not to mention, my backlog is full of games like Witcher 3 and RDR2 that I know I'll never have time for. Any advice on avoiding FOMO for those of us who like to spend months playing just one game?

Greg Alderton

With The Two Tens, would you be willing to fight for your choices in Guilty as Sock? I think it'd be really funny to see Ben be a defense lawyer for an obscure indie game lol.

Montequilla

Hey cohorts, last week you were talking about playing Silksong and The Rogue Prince of Persia at the same time, and getting mixed up with the controls. It made me wonder, do people not remap their controls? When I start a new game, I spend the first 10mins or so playing with the default controls to see how they feel, then I change a bunch of them to something I use consistently across similar types of games. That way I don't have to re-develop my muscle memory for a new set of controls. For instance with Silksong, I moved attack to R1 and Quick Step to L1, that way I can quickly switch between attacking, jumping and dashing without changing my finger placement (the game can still be really annoying though). Are there any games where you do remap the controls, if so what buttons do you remap common actions in games to?

TheLastArcher

What is the spiciest food you have ever eaten?

RynaGoGo

Howdy MinnMax and Brendon! What’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever held in your hands? I worked a job where we shipped things so expensive they wouldn’t be covered by the moving company’s insurance. So I helped build a custom shipping crate for a Pablo Picasso sculpture. It was small, about the size of a Nintendo Wii but was worth more than I’ll make in a lifetime.

Michael Griffin

Hello MinnMax! With a recent major real world event in mind and the indirect involvement of Helldivers 2, do any of you feel like we are due for another round of politicians blaming video games and their so called negative affects on young people for certain issues in society. I obviously disagree and think these problems are more deeply rooted and go beyond just video games, but I would love to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions.

Funky Duck

What piece of MinnMax content would you throw onto one of those annoying gas station TV displays if you were given a free ad spot?

Adam Castellanos

I have a slight stutter and it always made me thought that if I was on a podcast my stutter would come out in the worst way possible, did any of yall have to get over any speaking quirks before you started podcasting? Thank you.

RickyWinterborn

What age should little kids try video games?

Cam Wardlaw (Mahvl)

Hey Minnmax, question guy here, are those bugs from hollow knight people sized or just like… regular bug sized? What’s their deal? If they’re regular bug sized how many do you think it would take to defeat one average size mid 30s guy? Thanks! Mahvl (he/him)

Indexical

Excited to see Brendon on the show! Hopefully talking about Trails in the Sky - one of my most anticipated games for this year. Unfortunately, the abbreviation for this game is TiTS - has there ever been a more unfortunate acronym in games?

Jeremy McPhail

Hey guys. After hearing about the developers from Gearbox seemingly lose their patience with gamers - I had a thought . . . As a teacher I have to hold it together even when burnout is making it difficult for me to. As gaming journalist - do you find yourselves on the verge of losing it? If so, how do you deal with the burnout and negative feelings? PS - I ask because I enjoy how positive the vibe is at Minnmax.

Christian Jimenez

Howdy, last week's Metroid trailer got the community divided. The bike segment looks like a fun thing but it does look odd in Metroid. Do you think if this part ends up being a dud it will tarnish the legacy of the Prime series?

Pete Deaver

Hey folx! I have non-political question here, but it requires political context, so please bear with me. I work as a grant writer at a food bank in Virginia and needless to say, the walls kind of feel like they're closing in. Fortunately or unfortunately, I am a passionate person about social justice and keep crashing out over politics on social media. I'm afraid some scumbag is eventually going to contact my work about it. As professionals with a public platform, how do you resist publicly sharing your feelings on current events?

Malcolm Holliday

What's a gaming moment you felt was truly sincere in its execution?

Boondock-Bandit

Hi everybody! With the Virtual Boy coming back, whats another gaming peripheral/game you want to make a comeback, and why is the DJ Hero series the best answer? Please discuss. Thank you!

SlyCut

Hello all, Have you ever played golf? If not, surely mini-golf. Please regale us with your tale.

Christian Hall

Hey MinnMax & Brendan! What games scream “Fall” to you? The leaves are beginning to drop and I’m looking for games that give Fall vibes! Sidenote: I’ve been listening to a ton of ITA recently, so this crossover is awesome ❤️

Orange Wedge

Howdy minnmaxers! There's been a bunch of footage leaking recently from an old build of Prey 2 which got me thinking about plenty of other canceled projects. What's the canceled (or presumed canceled) game that you still think about the most? I still find myself wondering what Rockstar's Agent would have been from time to time.

Zach R.

Hello crew! A few podcasts ago, someone wrote in starting their question with "Hello Friends", which Ben shut down pretty quickly. The podcast after that, Ben invited all listeners to "come smell my feet and give me something good to eat". Ben, why the mixed signals? All jokes aside, my real question has to do with parasocial relationships. Where do you feel that line is for you and the content creators that you watch/listen to/read? For example, I love the behind the scenes look at y'all's dynamic with each other that the vlogs provide or seeing y'all's reaction to a game I'm looking forward to, but I also understand that there's a line between a person being your real friend, and enjoying the content they make. Thanks for your time! Zach R.

Michael Berry

I never owned a PSP during its lifecycle, but when I bought a Vita a year after its launch, I had a blast catching up on PSP games. There are plenty of charming, quirky games like Patchwork Heroes and Crush. And ports that are surprisingly the most robust and feature rich like Star Wars Force Unleased and the Mortal Kombat Unchained (port of Decption). I recall hearing how the PSP had no games and that was just egregiously wrong. I retroactively love the PSP's library. What has been some of your favorite experiences and moments addressing blind spots in your video game resume?

McGreevy

Are you a 1 alarm type of person or a 7 alarms across an hour type of person?

Jesse Eberenz

Hey gang - what is your favorite video game collector’s edition? For me it has to be Fallout 4. A physical pipboy where I can insert my phone and control the in-game pipboy from my wrist? Yes please!

Felix Meyer

If you had to delete one game genre from existence, what would it be?

Abe

Hi, everyone, not a question but... I notice the cohorts can never hear the Get A Load of This music which is a shame. I know it’s possible to upload sound clips on servers to be played on voice channels via the Soundboard so… There could theoretically be a courtesy GALOT chime in the soundboard for the cohorts! Maybe I’m mistaken but thought it would be fun if it is possible lol!

Devin Atlee-Nutts

Hey MinnMaxers and honorary GuestMaxer, First of all, thanks Ben, for repeatedly recommending Into the Aether. I started listening a few weeks ago and decided to start from the first episode as a nice comfortable time capsule. It was great hearing all the enthusiasm for Hollow Knight back in 2018, and the anticipation for a cool DLC where you play as another character. I'm looking forward to hearing more about its release over the next few episodes. Unrelatedly, I have a question for the pod: Which colour are the following UI bars? (best answered together, rapid-fire style, unless there's a disagreement!) Health, Thirst, Hunger, Armour, Stamina, Mana, XP, Ammo, Bladder, Score, Happiness, Special, Rage, Oxygen, Fear, Electricity, Fuel, Combo, Balance, Boost

Elizabeth Fort

How do the cohorts feel about the cringey writing of the borderlands series? like it’s their personality and I feel like the writing for borderlands 4 really bland and boring and the fake out deaths in the first area is really annoying because I Don’t care about anyone almost dying and was pretty bummed when they didn’t die. Thanks MinnMax

Vilis

Hey there MinnMax, I was playing Road to Empress, the new FMV game set in 7th Century China's Rear Palace, and it's so far very enjoyable. My question pertains to the Flower and Egg mechanic in the game, where players can affect an online leader board of the different characters' popularity in the game. I feel like that's maybe been done elsewhere, but I noted you can pay real money to get more Flowers or Eggs. So if you really like (or dislike) a character, you can dump endless money into the game to secure your favorite character's place on the board. This struck me as a unique wrinkle in the debate on micro-transactions in games and wanted to know: What do the Cohorts think?

Brody Weller

Hey y’all! We all know that the taste of cilantro is predetermined and it either tastes great or it tastes like soap depending on which gene you have. What other things would you also believe is predetermined by your genes? Whether someone likes Metroidvanias? Whether you’ll enjoy riding on bikes? Thanks!

Amir Forokhi

Hey everyone, with the talk of Hell is Us releasing at the same time and being kinda overshadowed by silksong. What is the best game that was released at the wrong time and that's why everyone overlooked it? To me puppeteer and titanfall 2 always come to my mind

Felix davin

Hello Minnmax ! To continue on the bug discussion from last week, which insect have you been bitten or stung by ? My most original is having been bitten by a grasshopper. It didn't like me closing my hand on it for a moment. Cheers.

Tess

Hello MinnMax! I was wondering if anyone could help shine some light on recent news about actual game censorship coming from a lot of different angles. (Just in case its not clear, I mean like actual censorship not when people say its censorship to have women or queer people in games or things like that)

CptCobblePot

Greetings crew! You ever eat one big thing and take a nap? It’s glorious and regrettable all in one moment! Long story short I get Kodiak pancake mix for a steep discount and felt obligated to start trying them. I now make a pancake bowl (recipe: 1/3 cup Oatmilk, 1/2 cup Kodiak mix, dark chocolate chips, sprinkle of cinnamon, tiny drop of vanilla extract in a small bakeware bowl, 1:45 runtime on the microwave) once every other day and just take a 20 minute catnap mid work. I think it’s improved my well being +8 points Do you have a binge worthy food? Bonus question: How’s your mental health?

Tokyo Game Life

Have you ever parried anything in real life? If so, what’s your most memorable parry?

Chris Pelley

Isn't it nice how relatively easy it is to have your digital game library thumbnails 100% accurate? It's a low bar, but I mean it's something. Music libraries feel impossible. And even when it's a streaming service, it'll still find a way to get throw in some soundtrack cover instead or the album you're listening to.

Christopher Reardon

Hello cohorts and aetherites! What's everyone's favorite Vita game?

Sleeksaber

Hi gang. In your opinion, what is the best feature added to a gaming platform? I really like the Steam news tab where you can easily see major updates, blog posts, etc. Makes it so easy to engage with the devs.

Starkiller

Hey gamers, Do you re-map your controls? Personally, every FPS I play, I make sure my grenades, melee, crouch, and interact buttons are always the same.

ManifestEcho

Are there any games you wish had a spinoff where you play as one of the bad guy grunts?

Chris Fantry

Hi MinnMax! Can you gush about a game from your past that you haven't brought up before?

Chris Fantry

HELLO COHORTS AND ESTEEMED GUEST. What is your favorite start-up chime or sound from a game console? Do you miss game saves being images and gifs (bonus points if you have a favorite)?

CptCobblePot

How many times do you counteroffer to pay for your meal/drinks before you accept someone else paying for it?

SouthSide_Abbot

Hello MinnMax, With the release of SilkSong I've been recommending that everyone play Hollow Knight first, not because of the story, but because of the mechanics and systems. Can you think of any games that you would recommend playing the previous entry first before the sequel for reasons other than story? Also, I plan on grabbing Ori and the Will of the Wisps for my first playthrough on Steam Deck. Would any of you recommend I play The Blind Forrest first?

Chris L

Hi everyone. Does anyone feel like Nintendo is doing the same thing with the Switch 2 as Sony did for the PS3? Taking advantage of being on top, over charging for everything? How many second jobs am I supposed to have?

No Aim

In last week's episode, you talked about Rogue Prince of Persia and why it wasn't talked about more. To me, the name alone made me less interested because I don't enjoy rogue-likes. What other popular franchise could be improved or made less interesting but putting the genre in the title?

elrob

howdy! this is more of a business-y question, but how many years from now do you think the next MinnMax asset refresh will be? how will you know it's time for an update?

Kevin Kuper

Howdy Minnmax, It you are going out to eat and are not paying for it, what's your ideal meal?

Jay L

With the upcoming release of Dying Light The Beast I’ve been replaying the first game and was reminded of the stark contrast between the generic seriousness of the story missions and sometimes outright goofiness of the side quests. What other games have such contrasting tones within them?

KayBree

Hello! Imagine yourselves far in the future as 80 year olds living in the Minnmax retirement home. All consoles past and present exist here, and you've got nothing but time. What is one game you're each bringing to the retirement home to play with the others?

SlickJames

Hello Minnmax, how many pairs of sneakers can you own before it’s too many? I currently have 13 pairs.

Rikimaru

Hey MinnMax! Some games have the potential to have a "Barbenheimer effect" like Doominal Crossing. Which of the following pair of games releasing close to each other have the highest chance for this to happen again: - Baby Steps and Hades II (Hady Steps) on Sep 23/25 - Pac-Man World 2 and Final Fantasy Tactics (Pac-Tac) on Sep 26/30 - Ghost of Yōtei and Digimon Story Time Stranger (Ghostimon) on Oct 2 - Pokémon Legends Z-A and Keeper (PoKéeper) on Oct 16/17 - Ninja Gaiden 4 and Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 on Oct 21 - The Outer Worlds 2 and ARC Raiders on Oct 29/30 - Metroid Prime 4 and Octopath Traveler 0 on Dec 4 Will we ever see this phenomenon again? Is a catchy name required for this to work? Excited to hear what you all think!

KiwiTheGoo

Hi yall. First- I just want to thank Brendon for his work on Into the Aether, I really appreciate how it's such a gamer-ass gamer podcast that's also evergreen. Onto my question: who's the biggest gamer you know? Hardmode: you can't say Hailey.

Jarell Pryor

Hey folks, I'm really enjoying Silksong so far. I've also never played a From Software game, and don't really plan to. I honestly think a big factor is the visual design. Hollow Knight looks gorgeous and intentionally crafted to me, but the Souls games just don't. Am I alone?

SuperThisWay

Hey cohorts! This might be toxic but when something bad happens in the Legal world of video games, I 100% always look forward to hearing Haley’s take/rant on it just for the infotainment of it. Do yall have your own go to source for a good rant when something bad happens?

Sam Worms

What’s a scene from a tv show or movie that you stop and watch every time it pops up? For me, it’s the darts scene from Ted Lasso.

Sergio Losada

What’s a movie you watched lately and enjoyed? It can be a new movie you hope gets more attention or something older that caught you by surprise.

Wajora

Hey Minners and Maxers! Last week I felt nostalgic and I checked out an old message board about a weird hobby (pen spinning) that I used to frequent when I was a teen and to my amusement I found my old profile, which can only be described as 'very much written by a 14 year old'. Have you ever rediscovered an old profile or other piece of internet footprint with a really funny (or maybe embarrassing) name or pofile pic etc.. that you've totally forgotten about but gave you a good laugh later?

LlorchDurden

I'm going to leave it here for the record. I loved the idea of a bike in Metroid Prime 4. I think the bike eats in a great way.

Luca Alberti

Hey MM crew, just wanted to leave some positivity for the Direct this week: I am extremely excited for the reveal of the Fatal Frame 2 remake! This is widely regarded as the best entry in the series and what was shown looked great! Have you had any experience with the Project Zero/Fatal Frame series?

Brian Lyness

Hey folks, Simple question, if you had the choice in the next 6 years your 3 favourite developers could release either: Two great titles (In terms of score think an 8 or 9/10) Or One masterpiece (A 10/10) What would you choose? Thanks Brian

Nathan Ryer

Hey MinnMax! What is better? Peanut butter or jelly?

Jason Wojnar

When was last time you snuck into somewhere? Whether be an event or something else? I snuck into a college last year to see a band and just moments before being turned away by the event staff a member of the band and I recognized each other (we studied at the same music school) and he was able to get me in.

Josh Lamm

What's your breakfast cereal of choice?

notweirder

Hey minnmax and Brendon! Not a question, I just wanted to share my appreciation for the wavelengths project. Despite the everything appearing effortlessly chill, there’s clearly a lot of work that goes into maintaining that vibe, and striking a balance of being informal yet focused. Plus it’s nice to see a channel like this align with my own tastes and perspectives on games and the games industry. Also he runs a blog and that is just cool to do in 2025

Anthony Aziz

I debate this with my friends often. Do you snack while gaming? I can't eat anything with my fingers or it makes me feel greasy and bugs the crap out of me. But I have friends that'll have some chips or whatever without problem (or making the controller gross). What's your gaming snacking habits? Alternatively, are you a weirdo about your controller texture (greasy/etc)?

Leah

I have been sick for days, and I am truly *so* bored. What are y'all's go-to games or game genres to play while under the weather? Do you prefer something more brainless, or would you rather immerse yourself in a narrative? Any recommendations would be thoroughly appreciated

landsealion

Would Silksong be better off adding difficulty options or should it stick to its vision and be a difficult game for gamers who like to suffer? Should all games be as accessible as possible?

landsealion

Which platforms are the most and least expensive to own and play games on? Nintendo has a cheaper console, but the games are way more expensive. Xbox and PlayStation have more expensive consoles, but games frequently go on sale and they have subscription services. PC is the most expensive hardware-wise, but has access to so many cheap sales, free Epic games, bundles, etc.

Limp Bizquick

Hey minns and maxes! In the most recent episode of a movie podcast I listen to (The Big Picture) the host pledged to “get into video games” to prep for the slate of upcoming video game move adaptations. He specifically mentioned Alex Garland’s Elden Ring and Michael Sarnoski’s Death Stranding which feel like especially bad entry points for someone with basically no experience in the medium. What would be a good rec for someone looking to “““ study””” the hobby

RushingSomewhere

Hi Ministers and Maxines! Is there a game that you can only watch but never play. For me it’s mortal kombat. I follow the competitive scene and will watch every tournament, but I have never played one for any more than 10 minutes. On a side note, how are we not talking about the new NMS Voyagers update!? It’s incredible to see the corvettes people have been building in that community. They just had their highest player count!

Neil Greig

Hey Cohort crew and Brendon! Im going to my first indie festival this weekend (protoplay in Scotland) and womdered if the crew had any advice for how you approach giving the developers any feedback on games or any do's and donts you've discovered over the years of working in the industry for when you play a demo build of a game?

mapleviolet

what percentage of people who buy a rerelease are people who have played it before? how much do you think developers are thinking of people who like the original versus people who are looking at this as an opportunity to break into a series that has been brought into their radar?

Neal McMahon

Hey MM Two parter: What was one hugely popular game with critical acclaim that you did not really like? For me I think it was Elden Ring. Secondly, what was one game that got low critical scores or was a sleeper that you ended up loving?
