Popular word or phrase you actively avoid, either because it's out of fashion or you just feel too old to use it.

Stevelution

Hey MinnMax. Christmas music, yay or nay?

Jump On Everything

If you could have one video game character as a new and permanent member of minnmax, who would it be?

Blobarsmartin

What kind of narratives/stories are we missing out on because game series/live service games are so rarely concluded willingly? What would it be like for fortnite for example to end not because of economic reasons, but because that’s a story someone wants to tell?

whitemex

When is the beginning of the week? My wife and I get into tiffs at times because our work schedules start on different days. Her's starts on Sunday and mine on Monday. So in an effort to get more people on my side..... When is the actual first day of the week?

Stefan Swanlund

Has there been a game genre or type of game that you hated until a game came out that was so good that it made you reevaluate the genre, to the point where you liked both old and new of that ilk? If so, what game was it and what did you previously hate about the genre that this game changed in you?

HaulingGas

Hey Christmax celebrators, What is the game or series of games that you revisit every holiday break?

Xavier Perez

Hey Minnmax Crew, prior to the Minnmax Awards and the Two Tens debate (and the pissy zone of course) I wanted to see if you each had something you admire about another cohort’s advocacy skills.

Memory Card

I finally started HRT this week after a long five years of self-advocacy and waiting! To turn this into a question: what's the longest you've found yourself waiting on something/ a game?

Infinite

Good morrow friends Now that we’re smack in the middle of holiday season, we’re also in the middle of holiday FOOD season. If you could take one traditionally winter holiday food (pumpkin pie, stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc) and make it synonymous with another holiday, what would you pick, and why? Conversely, what food would you add to the winter holiday spread? Thanksgiving burgers and hot dogs, anyone? Love the show!

That's Mildly Raven

What's your least favourite food that for some reason you find yourself eating frequently?

Tom Rickard

Hey folks and Bosman! What’s your least favorite part of DK Bananza? (Sorry Kyle)

Lamb Dance

Hey, I have this friend who told me they can’t go more than a week without doing laundry because they only have three pairs of pants they like. And I realized I agree with her, I also only like 3 of my pairs of pants. Is only owning a few pairs of pants that you like a common problem?

Grant Jackson

Hello cohorts! What categories, if any, do you feel are "missing" from the game awards? For example, there are awards for best racing game and best strategy game, but not for best horror game or best puzzle game, despite an abundance of titles launching in both of those categories every single year. Do you think the game awards need to be expanded? If so, what award categories would you add? Or do you think the awards are fine as is?

Machine Gun Keeley

Hey Minnmax Crew, What would be your ultimate Lego x Video Game crossover? I'm talking an epic set worth of a display case! For me it would be a Lego recreation of Shadow Moses from Metal Gear Solid (including Metal Gear Rex), the Blue Prince mansion, or maybe even the mansion from Resident Evil.

Antonino Laberdee

As members of the media, how often do you think about your content and the audience receiving it? On a recent episode Haley said "this is a family friendly show, so kiss, marry, kill" which implied to me that killing is more PG than sex. Obviously, you all censor swear words, but then there are certain adult topics that slip in, such as the discussion of Santa. So I was curious if you all, as public personalities, put any thought into who is consuming your work, or is that just Leo's problem in post? Love the work and with Ben out on leave I feel confident saying love you all.

Clemens Schwarz

Hi MinnMaxers, if you could erase one video game genre forever and for everyone in the world, but you had to write one of those "I'm done with this game/genre and uninstalling" posts on reddit, 1) would you do it, 2) what genre would it be and 3) what would your post say?

Troy Ellison

Will Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas is You" ever be unseated as the #1 Christmas song?

SlyCut

Hello all, You can only have one: Microwave Dishwasher Bidet Which do you choose and why?

CrabPalace

Kirby air riders has an absurd amount of polish. What other game needs that level of polish? Which games would be elevated, and which wouldn't be?

Neal McMahon

Hey MinnMax So far in 2025, I’ve played 28 games compared to just 9 last year, and I’ve finished 100% of those 9. Out of those 25, I fully completed 21, giving me a 75% completion rate. My average completion time is 17 days, with an average of 110 hours per game — and these aren’t small titles either: FF Rebirth, Ghost of Tsushima, Fallout: New Vegas, BG3, Xenoblade trilogy etc. (humble brag). I’m curious — how many games have you all played this year, and how many have you actually beaten? Do you keep track of your gaming stats like this too?

Max Malavenda

Does Kyle Bossman imply the existence of Kyle Subordinateboy?

With Horses releasing this week on PC but blocked from Steam and the studio facing closure if they don't sell enough across other storefronts, what are your feelings on Steam's place in the PC market and in games in general?

Random Oil Man

I often feel that people confuse a great game soundtrack with a soundtrack they enjoy listening to on its own, rather than one that truly enhances the game experience. For me this year that was Blue Prince' OST as I think that music defines that game's vibe. So my question is: what’s a soundtrack that you think works brilliantly for its game, but you personally don’t enjoy listening to outside of it?

This Way Out

Howdy Minnmax Crew! Do you play games differently when playing for review versus playing casually such as by taking notes, or purposely playing differently to test the game, etc? And if so, are there games you have loved or loathed playing casually that you think you'd likely have given a different score to if you have to play through it with a more critical and purposeful eye?

L Stockler

Hello! When you were a child, what christmas gift blew your mind the most?

Fred Dinovo

Kyle (Bosman) and quite frankly Kyle (Hilliard) have people forgotten about video games being just a fun time and that's a good thing? This is your excuse to talk about how Bananza is a good game leading up to the Two Tens discussion.

Catpurrnicus

In Star Wars the bartender makes the droids wait outside because he has a prejudice against them, do you find yourself agreeing with him because they're AI?

Travis in Fargo

Does everyone here know a Veggie Tales song?

Thanks for guest hosting Kyle, keep playing Mega Man X on stream. For a question: Will we get Metroid Prime 5 before a new Mega Man?

Travis in Fargo

How much should total playtime factor into your games of the year? What game did YOU play the most this year?

Sam Kennedy

do you think donkey kong would make a good husband?

kajmo

Hi gang, which piece of music elicits the strongest memory for you? Not necessarily what is the best, but what song evokes a game the most? For me it's the first few chords of Timberhearth from the Outer Wilds!

K-Ham

Hey cohorts! If you were a famous traveling performer, what item would always be on your rider?

Pelicanman

There’s been a lot of talk lately about sequels being too samey to prior entries in the series. What’s your most out-there idea for a sequel you’d like to see?

Shawninator

If you were to replace everyone in the Fast & Furious franchise with a Nintendo character, who would be who? Is DK the real Drift King?

Colin Luton

What's your local slop? There was a discussion going around bsky about "local slop" aka the cheap greasy food that your home town is known for, either because it's a regional dish, or is just ubiquitous in your area. Think Skyline chili, Chicago dogs or the garbage plate in Rochester ny. Here in Portland we want it to be smash burgers and/or doughnuts but the real answer is pad thai

Chris Krueger

Which video game character reminds you most of yourself?

LawlWorthy

What’s a product you won’t stop using, but has one small annoying quirk you can’t get over? I love my earbuds, but when you drop the case they eject themselves at a speed and distance only rivaled by the dragonballs after making a wish.

Hi MinnMax, do you have a fav food color? Like if food comes in that color, you are just more excited to try it, or it just literally tasted better to you somehow?

If there was a museum of your life, what tchotchkes would be in the gift shop?

One of the best things in The Outer Worlds 2 is the fact that every building actually has a toilet somewhere, what is a similarly miniscule detail you love from a video game?

Hello Minnmax. Question to all. Is Destiny 2 dead? This week is the release of Renegades. The Star Wars theme expansion, and it feels like no one cares. Between the layoffs at Bungie, the portal system made 90% useless, content creators leaving the game. This feels like Destiny 2 days are numbered. Like many Destiny players I left the game after the Final Shape. It feels like my journey with this game has come to its end. Maybe Destiny 3 might bring me back, but honestly I don’t know.

Maestro_T

Hello MinnMax crew, With game of the year discussions and best music of 2025 discussions, we’re getting a lot of “best ofs”. But I came up with some less noticed categories to pick the best (blank) of 2025. Best NPC Best Game Title Best Art Style Best Unique Mechanic Bonus* Best MinnMax host

Orange Wedge

Howdy Minn-Maxers! The rumors that Half-Life 3 might get announced at the game awards had me wondering, what's something (games related or not) that you've been waiting an eternity for and you're still holding out slight, maybe unreasonable hope might actually exist one day? I've had cash set aside for the vinyl reissues of Fez and Max Payne 3 for what feels like a decade at this point.

Kelsey Sims

Janet recently posted on Bluesky about only having a week left to play games before the Two Tens debate. What is a game you either didn't play or didn't finish that you wish you had before game of the year discussions?

RynaGoGo

What song lyrics did you have wrong? For years when I was a kid I thought the Steve Miller Band had a song about “Big Ol Jeb and Delilah”. Turns out it’s called Jet Airliner. P.S: One of my favorite songs of the year goes to the DLC to Chained Echoes. The track is Fighting Memories by Eddie Marianukroh. Shout out to a 10/10 throwback rpg that went under the radar.

Bryan Tylec

Hey, this question is for Charles. Since you became a games journalist, has anyone ever tried to nickname you Charles Hartinet? For everyone else, have you ever been tempted to start calling him Charles Hartinet?

OhMyBlob

Metroid Prime 4 was first announced 8 AND A HALF years ago at E3 2017. There is only one other game shown at that E3 that has yet to release… you each have one guess. ***ANSWER*** Beyond Good and Evil 2

Josh Lamm

What pokemon do you think would be the most delicious?

Neill Smith

Is the Absolum sountrack the biggest game awards snub this year? Gareth Coker (Ori) does most of the tracks but for a few bosses some collaborative heavy hitters are brought in: * Mick Gordon (Wolfenstein/Doom) contributes a great metal track for a boss fight * Yuka Kitamura (Bloodborne/Sekiro/Elden Ring) ads another boss tech in the classical FromSoft boss fight style * Motoi Sakuraba (Tales/Star Ocean/Dark Souls) ads a boss track with a bit of a Castlevania JRPG killing God feel. The lineup is stacked!

Daniel May

Happy holidays MinnMax! What are some of the odd yet accurate gifts you've ever given/gotten? I told everyone my job is QA checking spreadsheet data, so my girlfriend's mom got me a Microsoft Excel Christmas ugly sweater for an early Christmas gift.

Mitchell Moon

I’ve been playing a lot of BF6 this year, and have been impressed by the sheer number of weapon attachments you can place on a gun. Got me thinking; What’s your favorite all time weapon attachment?

Eric Trapp

Hey fellas! Surprise! All humans have turned into sentient kitchen appliances (still fully functional in performing their original intended use). Please assign kitchen appliances to all the cohorts. You can include past guest cohorts as well if you’d like. Happy holidays!

Leif Dion

Whats y'alls favorite bread for toast? I love a sourdough

dominick Isaacson

How do you manage your time between working and playing games? especially with your work relying on you playing games.

Thom Blackburn

Is there any aspect of video games that's as divorced from its overall critical reception than music? There's plenty of great music in a 6/10

Shane C

Who do you think is the coolest video game character ever? Games are constantly trying too hard to make a "cool" character, and it almost always seems to tip over the line into self-parody or eye-rolling "edginess." Who is the video game character you ACTUALLY look at and go, "hell yeah."

Padrola Silva

Leo, what are your thoughts on Portugal?

SenttheProphet

As a huge Delayed Input fan, the past months collaboration has been awesome! Thank you Kyle for stepping in and your continued amazing effort What is one major gaming decision that you wish you were in the “room where it happened”?

ennui_enthusiast

What old favorite game of yours are you most resistant towards replaying? Whether its due to worries about outdated gameplay and/or changes in personal preferences?

Fancygraham

What games can you think of where you could swap their music and both would still work? For example, I feel like Uncharted 4 and Tomb Raider (2013) could swap and someone who doesn’t know anything about either franchises wouldn’t think anything was out of place.

Aging_Poorly

I'm currently addicted to Old School Runescape's newest Skill, Sailing. It's probably the biggest transformation to the nearly 20 year old MMO that there's ever been. If you could, are there any games at all from the 2000s that you would love to see a hugely transformative new gameplay mechanic or feature added?

Jacob Mazanowski

What are you daytime hobbies vs nighttime hobbies. I love playing guitar but can’t do that past my kids bedtime so I usually switch to playing games or working on dev projects that are a bit quieter

Swansonge

On a recent episode of the Game Informer show, Charles made a great point that some games have great music but are otherwise not critically well received (I’m paraphrasing). What are some games that didn’t do well critically, but you think have banging soundtracks?

Jacob Mazanowski

If you had unlimited funds, what’s something small you would spend money on? For me, I think I would always buy the best quality butter

With game of the year discussion coming up, I’m wondering, is there a Genre of the Year? What would MinnMaxx’s Genre of the Year be?

Pablo Castillo

When did you last make a non-work related friend? How did you meet them?

Jacob Mazanowski

How often do you have a dream that shakes your reality and it take you a minute to get back to normal after you wake up? I’m not talking only nightmares, but something that just feels real when you wake up

AnAttackCorgi

Salutations MinnMaxers. We’ve all played mediocre games. We’ve all played bad games. But can you compliment the worst game you’ve ever played? Can you find a glimmer of light in that title’s storm of bad game design? Cheers and best of luck Kyle. Make sure you eat enough bagel bites!

Jacob Mazanowski

Other than the Potential of Half Life 3, are you expecting the Steam Machine to have a launch lineup? Personally, I say no because if that were the case, I would expect see one or two games pushed by Steam every graphics card release

Jacob Mazanowski

Is your family group text muted or unmuted? I mute mine, but I come from a big family so with all the in-laws there are 14 of us in it and it gets out of hand

Victor Pham

Is there still a place for mute protagonists in games?

Chris Fantry

Hi MinnMaximos! What is your favorite coffee table book that you own?

Chris Fantry

Howdy MinnMax. What is your top 10 and bottom 10 of Jackbox games?

Arturo Perez

Hello minnmax! Enough time has passed, it is time we ask the age old question. Digimon or Pokemon? Pokemon legends ZA or Digimon Time Strangers? take care!

In honor of the end of Fortnite's Simpsons season - what theme, and in what game, would get you most excited?

Hi MinnMax + Captain Kyle, Now that we know Leo has to power to change cinema, what's the one nitpick you have with a major franchise (could be movies, games, TV etc.) that you would like to see addressed?

Travis in Fargo

What’s been your emotional support game of the year? (I assume this won’t be a category addressed in the two tens).

Travis in Fargo

I talk to my kids, seemingly on a weekly basis, about the mental and emotional benefits of experiencing boredom sometimes. What’s a boring or tedious task you don’t mind, or even - enjoy?

Hey Bosman and the Maxers, Do ya’ll have any “constant classic” games you’re always playing? Thought of this when I played more Picross S5 on my TV last night after playing it while traveling for the holidays. It made me realize that I have some version of Tetris and Picross ready to play at any moment ever since they were available on Switch. And likely before too between various older handhelds. Love your work, MinnMax show and delayed input are my two “constant classic” shows too! Cheers, Bevan

CANAS1AN

Hello Tamer Bosman, It's your turn to present to the MinnMax cohort why Digimon Story Time Stranger has a place on the Two Tens. Channeling your inner Leo Vader, how would you convince the group that this game belongs in the # 2 spot in the upper tens?

Chris Pelley

As someone who's never payed attention to game music outside of when I'm actually playing a game, what album/game/playlist would you recommend?

Chris Pelley

If you had a tally, what movie have you watched most in your life? (At least 66% watches, because naps/chores.) (Probably a holiday movie, but not necessarily.)

Matthew W

Hi Minnmax! What is your favorite place you visited this year, real or fictional?

Brody Weller

Hey y’all! What’s something in your place that you have purely for aesthetic reasons? On the flip side, what’s something that’s ugly/hideous that you keep due to the necessity of that object?

Jacob Mazanowski

Have you heard of the “Dude Test” where you see how people pick up a Drill, pick up Tongs, put Bread away, pick up a ball? What would the “Gamer Test” equivalent be?

Jacob Mazanowski

What are the two most adjacent genres in terms of people who enjoy one will tend to enjoy the other?

Jacob Mazanowski

What other video game podcast would you choose to raise your kids?

Jacob Mazanowski

What is something you never seem to buy but always have? I always have trash bags but never seem to buy them because I just use the bags I get from checking out at a store

Jacob Mazanowski

Since this is the music episode, what is the best song that has no drums or percussion?

Travis Manick

I missed the "Hidden Gems" conversation, but please check out Windswept! It's basically Donkey Kong Country, but you play as a cute duck and turtle.

Juniper Cain

Hi all! Which games narrative would become the most retroactively compelling, if players discovered proof hidden away within it that the main character was the canonical performer of it's entire soundtrack?

Felix davin

Hello. If your restaurant were to run a "menu du soir = food and gaming pairing", which console would you pair with which meal ? Cheers.

But is it giving…. Tree??? 🤌

Happy Holidays! Last year our second child suprised us a week early and was born on Christmas! My wife by the next day was already looking towards his future birthdays with the thought, "Well we're gonna have to do half birthdays so he doesn't just get presents for the holidays." For his first year we didn't have a half party but I believe her plan is going forward to do so! So Have any of y'all ever celebrated a half birthday, with an actual party? Or even known someone who has had a half birthday party!?

Mike Chase

Which game is in the two tens of "most underwhelming game of the year"? Something that may have been hyped up for you but didn't hit the mark?

Omega Ranking

What’s a small, cozy gaming moment you wish you could bottle up and give as a Christmas gift?

RickyWinterborn

If I were to play one text-dense, time-consuming smart people game to level up my Jacob Gellar skill tree what will give me the most bang for buck? Kentucky Route Zero? Disco Elysium?

KevinJ

Do you think 2025 was a good year for games? Before you answer, here are some quotes I pulled from previous Two Tens discussions: 2024: "This was also the year of a million games" 2023: "a year many people say is the best year ever for gaming" 2022: "It's kind of wild just how many games came out this year, looking at this list" 2021: "one million games that deserve some recognition that conceivably could be on this list" 2020: "hey, you guys, this was a good year for games, holy god"

Wajora

What video game character would do the best job being Santa's last minute replacement with only 24 hours of prep time?

Jay L

What game soundtrack would be the background music for your life?

KayBree

Hello! When making a character in character creator for the first time do you use a preset, create a character that looks like yourself, or create a real uggo?

Kyle Silva

Yay. The music episode! Not sure if you’re taking submissions, so I’ll just throw a few here to consider for fair measure. Donkey Kong Bananza - Emerald Rush 4. Perfect “do or die” song for finishing off the difficult push of an Emerald Rush run. The song makes quick transitions to sampling all the different Bananza themes. https://youtu.be/SZu2T7m-KAA?si=kxP4X5P4LGqJ8zII Donkey Kong Bananza - Snake Bananza. When DK turns into a snake, this track brings the good weird vibes, as Pauline raps in gibberish. https://youtu.be/S4XTeZ1VyTg?si=rrfe5Kbc1nUjxiyi Kirby Air Riders - Floria Fields. This is now my go to track when I rent an eScooter. Very cheerful, you almost feel the wind breezing through you on a clear summer day with this one. https://youtu.be/CEMtxS6FlBI?si=kaaowKUxjPdPx2sx

Luca Alberti

Hello MM crew! Last week I finally decided to cast my votes for TGA despite being severly behind schedule on playing the nominees and cast my vote for best soundtrack for E33. Just a couple days later I got ahold of Hades 2 and immediately regret my choice as I was reminded just how talented Darren Korb is. When was the last time you immediately regret a decision? Shoutout to all the great soundtracks of 2025 btw

DarkFishDays

Hi MinnMax! One of my favorite game songs from this year is from a game I didn’t even play: Jacinthe’s battle theme from Pokemon ZA. My partner was playing next to me when this came on and I couldn’t help but tap my feet to this catchy beat! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvSlzzXpZEQ

Rory Gladstone

Game: LumiWHERE?! I was bemused that we had two games in lumi cities this year, Lumiere of Expedition 33 and Lumiose of Pokémon ZA. At first glance they seem like very different places but how well do you know the citizenry of Lumiose and Lumiere? Were the following quotes said by a resident of Lumiose or Lumiere? (Blank used when a word would give away the game) Q1: I'm sick and tired of this life. I just want to smell BLANK Q2: Hey you! You’ve been here for quite a while now! Can you leave? I don’t want to draw attention to myself. Q3: My BLANK costume is the best! Hey, madame, do you think the BLANK really exist? Q4: If I'm upset, giving my partners BLANK a little squeeze helps. Q5: I just finished my sculpture to the legendary BLANK. This may be my life’s finest work, yet not a single soul seems to care. How could I make it better? Q6: People, BLANK....we're all going to die someday, aren't we? Q7: another day without being reincarnated as a BLANK Q8: "Eyes, aim for the eyes!" Those were my brothers last words... Answers 1 Lumiose NPC (blank = Pokémon) 2 TrashMan in Lumiere 3 Lumiere (blank = gestral) 4 Lumiose (blank = poke ball) 5 Lumiere (blank = esquie) 6 Lumiose (blank = Pokémon) 7 Lumiose (blank = Pokémon) 8 Lumiose

Hail and Well Met, MinnMax, As we enter the "Best of 2025" part of the year, I was curious if we could give 2 minutes or so for Charles Harte to tell MinnMax his thoughts on the Tabletop RPG "Best of" Perhaps weigh in on good ol' D&D having such a strong contender as Daggerheart enter the ring? Are there other new releases, hidden gems as they say, that people should look for in the space?

mantaguy

Hey MinnMaxers! If you're taking community submissions for best music, here's a couple I'd like to throw in: Kirby Air Riders - Steamgust Forge. Give this a listen to and tell me this isn't a secret new Kid Icarus: Uprising track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tjeeYLwB-4 Mario Kart World - Comet Observatory. I love me a good smooth jazz remix, and this one hits all the right notes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7-Vw7e9Zq8 Mario Kart World - The Mario Drawing Song. Nothing much to say here; I just want to point out that there's a remix of a song from Flipnote Studio in this game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBHZS30DeHc

Hello KyleHorts. A lot was said during the previews and now in reviews about the introduction of Myles McKenzie to the previously isolating Metroid formula. Do you find him to be an annoying addition? How does he stack up to infamous overly quippy and yappy characters? Does anything get close to Forspoken Bracelet levels?

Azza G

Hey Minnmax, in Australia you can order a beer with lemonade and its called a 'shandy', what drink orders do you find offensive to good nature?

Michael Nickley

Hey guys, congratulations! MinnMax has been granted complete creative control of The Game Awards. Your first task: redesigning the award categories. Go!

Bon Jon Bovi

To what degree do you use your imagination while playing a game? To me, silent protagonists are more immersive and random encounters make dungeons more imposing. But these things aren't realistic at all and require some degree of imagination on the player's end to make work. Do you feel like your imagination is being exercised when you play a game?

Harry Branch

Popcorn is often criticized for being a movie theater snack, not for its taste or popularity, but because movie theaters serve and promote it. However, I find it to be the least obnoxious finger food one can have during a theater experience because the last thing I'm looking to do is eat a proper meal while watching a movie. Can the panel come up with a superior snack, or is popcorn a staple for good reason?

Zae

Hey Minnmax what is a game you’d like to see take a hyrule warriors spin off for it’s story? Not necessarily a musou, but I think that works pretty okay for story. If Pokemon tried a musou style for the great Pokemon war you were talking about, or a tactics game, I think it’d be really cool for an otherwise stagnant franchise.

Oliver Smith

Last week Sarah was talking about much she was enjoying Kirby Air Riders because of her connection to the original. It got me thinking about games that I first played when I was a kid and had sequels release well into adulthood. I played a colossal amount of Pikmin and Tokyo Extreme Racer--a PS2 era arcadey racer--and both series recently came out with games that I loved and felt like what my young self would've dreamed of. My question is this: what sequels that came out in your adulthood managed to recapture the same magic of the originals you played as a kid? Alternatively, which ones would've been a massive disappointment to your young self?

At the Game Awards this year how many commercials will be confused for trailers at first? 20%? Are marketers going to start taking advantage of this "trick"?

Hey Minnie Maxines, If you takeaway the Metroid IP, is the Prime series more of a Zelda like game or metroidvania? How do you differentiate a metroidvania from a zelda like? Pipistrello looks like Zelda but calls itself a yoyovania

Sincerly, Eric

You know how sometimes you get really really really excited after enjoying a piece of Media, whether game, TV, book or comic and rush off to tell some one about it? What is the most excited you have ever been to share something you've experienced with someone? Will you share it with us now?

I was listening to the Get Played podcast and one of the hosts, Nick Wiger, said that one of the hardest times he's laughed was at one KYLE BOSMAN doing a bit where he is Joe Pesci explaining the video game Time Crisis to someone over the phone while being crunched for time. Something like that... Am I making this up? Did you have a Joe Pesci related joke about Time Crisis? If so, can you do the bit for us? Thanks for all your hard work everyone!

Hello MinnMaxers! I'm currently watching a playthrough of the original Tomb Raider game and, completely out of nowhere, the final levels of that game turn into a gross fleshy H.R. Giger nightmare hellscape. I completely forgot what a radical tone shift Tomb Raider takes in last act and it got me thinking; what are the most bizarre and unexpected tone shifts in games? Which games handle this the best? And do you like when games do this or find it more jarring than fun? Love all of your content and keep up the great work!

Hey Minnmax crew! I have over 5 hours in Sektori so far and have not been able to beat the first boss on the easiest difficulty, meaning I still haven't unlocked a single thing. The main menu is basically just locked boxes that I can't click on. And yet I absolutely love this game. What is your favorite game that you are unabashedly awful at?

You’re leaving the office a little early to run an errand. It’s pretty dead this time of year, with many people choosing to periodically work remote between Thanksgiving and Christmas. As you go to say goodbye to your coworker, who has usually left by now, you notice that he is asleep in his cubicle. Do you wake him up before leaving, or do you leave him asleep in an almost empty office building?

I recently jumped back into UFO 50 after about a year. I put 40 yours into it previously, so it was like curling up with a warm blanket. Has anybody circled back around to it this year? Thanks Wes from Baltimore

Which big gaming franchise/series is the most likely to cease having new entries within the next ten years?

Hey Cohorts, I want to thank Kyle Bosman for filling in for Ben while Ben was on paternity leave! It has been great, but I have a bone to pick with Kyle and his title, the Dark Prince of Nerd Media. How dare he!? Claimant to a crown unearned and undeserved. A buffon playing a prince. What deed can he point to? The jester of Sir Geoff Keighley? The disgraced bettor worming his way out of his own debts? Why have we placed a crown upon this fool’s head, a palace to goofs, and bits, and car honks….and Mega Man Legends…and Digimon apparently? For too long we have allowed this man to hold this title. Yes, I will concede he is charming. He successfully hosted a popular podcast for years. I guess it would be rather unfair to not mention his wit. He is knowledgeable and funny. But what jester isn't!? Yes, he is a skilled media host and his commitment to a bit somehow makes him more funny when others would be annoying. And this industry would be a bit darker without him….But a prince!? I will not compliment this charlatan. I find him wanting. I ask the cohorts: have you even a whisper resembling something favorable about this fake prince? If not, I ask you to join me in challenging this clown in princely robs. Demand he relinquish his crown to a tournament so one more worthy than he may ascend or destroy the title forever.

How was Leo’s move? How does he like the new space?

Hey MinnMax! What does Samus eat? Does the suit do most of the work and she needs to maintain a strict diet? Conversely, does she burn a million calories and need to eat like an Olympic athlete? Does she eat a lot of onigiri? It seems like she couldn’t eat a lot of foods like grilled salmon because they would just stink up the suit.

Is anyone else on the panel sick like me, and takes the promt "Press Any Button To Start" when you launch a game as a challenge? Who do so many games lie about any button being a valid input?

CptCobblePot

Greetings Minnmax, do you like giving gifts and whats your favorite type of gift to give? (Homemade, tech, improvements, writing this down that someone mentioned in July and you got it now?)

Y'all like apples?

What music from a game, movie or show just makes your chest swell up with anticipation? The Star Wars theme and Final Fantasy's start menu invoke an immediate emotional response when I hear them. Curious what some are for the crew

Probably too late, but love you Bosman. You all ever get accused of something you didn’t do? I have gotten accused of stealing in supermarkets no less than three times in the past 5 years. And I mean, held by security, not allowed to leave and forced back into the store by force one time when I tried to leave.

How do ya'll get into the Christmas Spirit? Growing up, I lived in a neighborhood that somehow all agreed to put out "luminaries" along all our roads. These were white bags filled with sand and a candle, which was lit on Christmas Eve. It was actually amazing how many people participated. I miss that! Any weird traditions ya'll have?

Kyle, Hilliard! Considering you've said in previous episodes your fave ever Metroid Prime was 3, how is 4 so far ranking? Better than 3?

About last weeks last remaining hyped games question, what about: a Banjo Kazooie 3D platformer? A prince of Persia 3D platformer? A Perfect Dark sequel? Beyond good and evil?

George Perry

We've all heard of Christmas movies, but do y'all have any Christmas games?

Howdy Cohorts! With Half Life 3 rumours picking up steam (pun intended) again recently, it got me thinking: has it been too long since Part 2 for Valve to pick up where we left off in the storyline? Surely it gets to a point where most people have either forgotten what occured previously in the series, or simply were too young to have played them. Would it not be more beneficial for Valve to make HL3 an easier onboarding point for new players? Additionally, because of longer development times between games, are we starting to see the death of the continuous storylines between sequels? (I feel like we rarely see narrative trilogies anymore!)
