Hey MinnMax, After I finish a game, I usually have a hard time deciding what to play next. I’m very much a “one game at a time” person—I like giving a game my full focus and attention. But since I’ve struggled to choose in the past, I’ve started a new system where I rotate between 2–3 games at the beginning. It helps me figure out which one is really going to become my main game for the next month or so. How many games do you usually have in your personal rotation at one time?

Fancygraham

I know publishers are trying to avoid the GTA6 blast radius, but isn’t packing September full of releases just as bad?

BobaFets

What game series that recently hasn't met sales expectations do you hope get's a sequel? I'm personally hoping there's an Outworlds 3.

Cath

Ok so does the people want Leo//win to stop or it’s Ben because he’s jealous ? (Also the bunny game win. Always the bunny)

PhillyYeetSteak

Hey Minnmax, For some reason, i am currently playing through Ghost Recon Breakpoint and was befuddled to discover that famous skateboarder Rodney Mullen voices a major character in the game..? And he does a fine job?? What random celebrity performances in a game stuck out to you and made you wonder "what are YOU doing here?"

Rene Nunez

What game characters would make a nightmare blunt rotation

VMEArcana (Very Much Earthed Arcana)

With Wolf Among Us 2 and other stellar showings, these might if the been the best showcases I’ve seen. While never perfect, I don’t see how people expect more from these showcases. Is there any way a showcase can perfectly satisfy y’all? What do games need to show to be memorable and eventful? Why is every showcase such a mixed bag for everyone?

Graham Jones

Hey Crew, recently I feel like we have seen the birth of a new game genre I am going to call "playable movie" games like First Light and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. These games have taken IPs that have not had recent critical acclaim and created new great stories to help put the IPs back on the map. What do you think is the next IP that needs the "playable movie" game? Personally I feel like Jurassic park is ripe for a game like this.

Poofydoo

After this Nintendo Direct, will Xenoblade start getting the respect it deserves?

K-Ham

In this day and age, do you consider it tacky to show a game announcement trailer that is simply an "announcement" with no actual gameplay or cutscenes? Or do you appreciate that you now know a project simply exists?

SlyCut

Hello all, In Jurassic park, when Gennaro runs to the bathroom and Malcolm answers Grant, "When you gotta go, you gotta go," and they then see the t-rex escape her paddock, Malcolm says, "Boy, do I hate being right all the time." Malcolm is talking about how he predicted something like the t-rex escape would happen, right? But for over thirty years, ever since I was a kid, I thought he meant he was right about when you gotta go, you gotta go and that he was saying he just wet himself. It just hit me what he actually meant when I watched it again with my kids for the first time. Have you ever had a long lived misunderstanding of something like that?

Spencer Botine

Happy SGF GAMERZZ, The Ocarina of Time Remake is my Final Fantasy VII Remake moment. I never thought it would happen. I should be convulsing on the ground in utter ecstasy of its existence - and yet, I’m simply….interested? I can’t put a pin in it, but its reveal didn’t land for me. Are there simply too many remakes now and has 90s nostalgia been pandered to in excess at this point?

Thom Blackburn

What would you say Xbox's strategy... is?

aFamiliarSpirit

Do you think there are more games that take place in Japan, the US, or the rest of the world combined?

Jacob Mazanowski

Assuming GTA is going to be $80, if you were given $80 to budget for games for the rest of the year, which games would you use your $80 on? Rules: no tax us prices console doesn’t matter Cannot spend over $80 before January 1, 2027 Can be games already released any year Cannot play game before release date

L Stockler

Hi! The World Cup is starting this week. I'm brazillian, which means that, even though I don't really like football (soccer, for you guys), I'm watching and cheering every game from my country for a few weeks. Heck, when we hosted the World Cup in 2014, I watched tons of games from other countries. It was great. That said, I'm under the impression people in the US generally don't care so much. Am I wrong? How do you guys feel about it?

Vilis

I'm curious if the various outfits in FF7 Revelation has moved the interest needle for cohorts who were cold on FF7 Rebirth after the Deepest Dive.

Vin!!

What is *the* announcement that any of the big three could make during their presentations (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo) that would make you do the classic “BLANK won this year!!” The more irresponsible the wish/niche to you, the better. (Like, they would never, but if Nintendo announced a from the ground up remake of Star Fox Adventure, i’d chaotically cry tears of joy)

Travis in Fargo

I assume after big events like SGF, you end up with a ton of swag. Is this true, and if so, what do you do with all that stuff? Did you get anything good this year?

SuperThisWay

Hey cohorts! If your significant other had ability to instantly teleport anywhere in the world, would you still make them commute with you when want to travel somewhere?

Vincent Payne

Hey everyone, I’ve enjoyed the various shows we’ve had over the past week! However, I always have a bit of a dark cloud hanging over me when watching the them. That cloud can be attributed to the Nvidia leak that happened years ago that listed a “Final Fantasy 9 remaster”. Every show that happens leads me to have a glimmer of hope that has, to this point, been consistently dashed over a game that might not actually exist. Anyways, what are the “pie in the sky” games that you are waiting for/would go crazy over if they were actually announced?

Travis in Fargo

If there were a video games press charity softball tournament and MinnMax participated, who would win, how much money could you raise, and what would concessions be sold?

ThomperPippin

Hello MinnMax! My question is more of a desperate plea: What can I do, what can I say, what needs to happen to *please oh please dear Lord* get y'all to play the Deltarune chapters that are available now, rather than waiting? There's a lot of game in each chapter, and besides being very complete and tonally distinct, they each have a lot of gamey-crunch going on with regard to optional ("secret") content that includes some of the best music and characters ever to grace the Toby Fox verse (which is really saying something). Going through the full thing all in one stretch would make it a lot harder to catch a lot of this content! Like, do we know anyone who's not playing FF7Remake until the full trilogy is available?

Sky Fellowship

At what point did you truly accept, that there's more media being made than you'll ever be able to consume? Yes this is because of September and October, those 2 months alone will give me about a years worth of games.

Aging_Poorly

You only get one traditional ice cream truck/summer dessert for the rest of your life. What’s your pick?

JTDenton

What do you think is going to be the lore reason for why the protagonist of Stellar Blade: Blood Rain has to look like that?

McGreevy

In the original Star Fox 64 when the crew enters the airspace over Corneria City and sees only rubble and the few buildings that remain half standing, Falco flatly says "This is horrible". In the remake he says "Andross sure has trashed the place" in an upbeat tone. Why does it seem media is averse to serious moments now? I thought everyone got sick of overly quippy dialogue 8 years ago? Laufey is copping heat for similar reasons. Is this a symptom of the ballooned development times? These game were written at the height of the MCU quip era?

Daniel May

Hi MinnMax, I hope you all had a very fun SGF season! I myself got to go to FanFest this year and had a blast. In that spirit, what was your first core summer showcase season memory?

ennui_enthusiast

What would be the most upsetting media to be turned into a lego game? My pick would be a Lego Bloodborne game.

Tess

Hey MinnMax! If someone asked you to describe either a wolverine ( animal species Gulo gulo ) or Wolverine ( Marvel Super Hero ), which would you do a better job with? What about which the general populous would be better at describing?

Conner McCabe

Hi co-hort city, When was the last time you used the disc drive on your PS5 disc drive to watch a DVD or Blu-Ray? I’ve been on a bit of a movie kick and have been using it a lot more lately, including watching Galaxy Quest and the first two Jurassic Park movies (including the special features, duh-doy!). How recently have you used your disc drive for anything that isn’t a game?

Stephen Woodson

If only it was Summer Games Fest, then we could pick more than 1 game of the show. Alas. No question here, just thanks for all the extra work covering showcases this past week. Cheers and happy singular game fest!

J.Vaso

Was Highguard the Ozymandius of games showcases? Did it commit a horrible crime by being the final thing in the game awards (in the eyes of the average gamer apparently) so Geoff could come back with such a stacked and exciting SGF?

Michael Berry

What happened to the Gravity Rush movie? Do you think this will ever come out and does the attempt at a movie suggest Sony has some interest in making another Gravity Rush game?

Luis Pérez

Heya cohorts! It's time for a challenge. You're in charge of a game's release, but you receive a mandate from your crazy parent company: you have to release on November 2026, no matter what. What's the scientifically best date to do it? All the best!

Nathan Ryer

Hey MinnMax! When traveling, do you go out of your way to eat in small local restaurants that serve local cuisine to experience something new?

CJ W.

Hey MinnMax! What video game character would make the best roommate? Which one would make the worst roommate? I think Wilmot from Wilmot's Warehouse would be a pretty good roommate, organization would be hopefully easy. I also think Yoshi and I could get along since we share a common love of apples I think Kratos would be a terrible room mate for a lot of reasons. Yeah he seems handy with fixing things up, but he's only learned that because he's CONSTANTLY under attack from something.

Bryan Tylec

Given the sheer amount of highly anticipated games that showed up for this year’s SGF, do you think that even the Firesprite team had no idea they’d be crafting the most memorable scene of the show with their Push Luke Moment?

RynaGoGo

Howdy MinnMax, Now that the Summer of September festivities are over I want to ask, what’s your favorite tree? Sequoia trees are no doubt awesome but I’ve always been partial to Magnolia trees. Deep dark shade, they get super big and have really pretty flowers.

WeGoGiant

If you could take any game with a 2026 release date (or window) and change it to make it drop on the same day as GTA6, what game would you choose? Bonus points: what game combo would make the best memes, ala Doom/Animal Crossing and RE9/Pokopia?

Thomas Wheeler

Hey Cohorts, With May seemingly confirming the ‘Cregger-ification’ of Horror cinema thanks to Obsession’s runaway success, this successful jump of YouTube comedy directors into Indie Horror got me thinking about the games industry. What are your favourite games that saw a studio make a huge genre leap to produce them? And what studios would you love to see make a similar jump? I am keeping a keen eye on Playground’s Fable but sure there are plenty more out there! Keep up the good work!

Mike R.

Quick question for the crew, what came first, Yoshi Egg or Yoshi??

Alec Guenther

Hi MinnMax, What makes a franchise for you? Is it connective lore, persistent mechanics, or something else? On a related note, what about a game makes you most want to see them make a franchise out of it?

Victor Garcia

Hi Everyone. When Xenoblade Genesis was announced during the Nintendo Direct, I made a joke about it being called Xenoblade Megadrive outside of North America and nobody responded in anyway. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate this joke?

Devin Atlee-Nutts

One of the biggest draws to MinnMax for me was New Show Plus, a series that tries some really interesting and off-the-wall concepts that other outlets aren't attempting. Something I've been thinking about is that Backstage Pass voters are more likely to be hardcore MinnMax fans and vote for the deep-cuts and audio-feed options that might skew away from what appeals to a typical subscriber. How much do you consider New Show Plus as a variety show for the main audience compared to a reward for backstage pass to shape? PS: The show that brought me in was House Hunter Rise, which was also a long-running series, so I don't know where I really stand on the hot-streaks in general! (Though I really wish there was more audience motivation to do something that isn't just an extra hour of podcasting)

Arturo Perez

Hi Minnmax, Maybe you can help me understand, what is the appeal of GTA 6? I tried San Andreas and GTA 4 while in highschool, and could never connect with them. What am I missing? Am I nuts? Thank yooou

Chris Tesiny

You’re coming home after a long day and have your current game waiting for you. You’re gunna grab fast food or take out to eat while you game. What’s your go to and why.

CaffeineDad

Hey gang! I don’t say this to trash XBOX, but… that translucent plastic on their 25th anniversary XBOX… it’s ugly, right? Does that translucent effect on plastic hardware ever look good to you? I had the translucent purple gameboy color as a kid and legit thought my parents bought me a knock-off because I was too young to know better.

Catpurrnicus

I was thinking about the question last week of if you would rather have $100k or no fall damage. It has to be no fall damage, just for the reason that I can now roll down the stairs to the horror of onlookers.

Catpurrnicus

I see Kyle Bosman is on Team Shine for the SF6 streamer competition. Has anyone from MinnMax ever been approached to do something similar?

Badmonsterman

Hey minnows and maxxers, what was the game announcement/presentation that just floored you so much that it’s your reference point going forward?

Jeff Britton

Hi Minnmaxers, what's your best impression of the, "Nintendo Direct Voice" and what game or feature would be funniest to hear in that voice? Personally I think the nintendo-ified overview of Insomniac's Wolverine's dismemberment system would be pretty great to hear. Thanks for the great pods.

Hector

Hello Crew 🫡, with the Announcement of Dragon's Dogma 2 DLC, people are going wild, we never tought it would happen but we prayed, basically the question is what dlc do you wish for from a Game that has been finished/abandoned. Thanks

Ken H (Kenny2Slice)

Has there been a third party dev on as much of a heater as Capcom? I know some devs give us bangers often, but Capcom has been at near perfect hit rate since MH Worlds and on top of their major titles, they have gained the confidence to give us games like Kinitsu-Gami and Pragmata. SF6 has also had its 2 biggest tournaments at the end of its 3rd year and is entering a 4th very strong. Do any other companies come to mind with this big a stretch in quality and confidence? Also, a shout out to Kelsey for standing up for fighting games on both the 25 games everyone should play in her defense if street fighter being on the list and in the PPB esports episode. You’re welcome at Combo Breaker any time.

Chris Gillar

What was your favorite game update announced during the conferences this past week?

giuliano

What is the best snack food?

Talyn

Hey yall! With the announcement of both Final Fantasy 7 Revelation and Ocarina of Time remake, I’d love it if the panel could each pick one game they’d like to get the FF7 Remake trilogy treatment. I know Ben is getting his, but what about the rest of y’all? Seth M

Joey Smith

Black coffee and neat whiskey are seen as "tough guy drinks". You are given magic wand that can turn any other drink into a "tough guy drink" regardless of what people think of it now. What drink do you choose?

Neil Brown

Howdy Minnmax! We tend to see books get adapted into movies, and games adapted into movies, but why do we very rarely ever get books directly adapted to games first before they are a movie/show? What are some non-TV adapted books you would want as a game? (Cheat Sheet for the big ones I can think of: Metro, Witcher, Pillars of Earth, Dante's Inferno???)

Malcolm Holliday

Hey MinnMax! When do you know it's time to bet on yourself and build your own thing? I got laid off from my tech job back in January, I've been stuck at the dilemma of trying something new or getting another tech job.

Hillary

Hi gang, When I was a kid I had a Sega Genesis and my parents would let me borrow a game from the local rental shop about once a week. I rented the same games so many times we probably could have owned the games 5 times over. It was a solid rotation between The Little Mermaid, Mickey's Ultimate Challenge, and Echo the Dolphin. Sometimes there'd be another random one in there. Was anyone else a video game rental kid like me? Did you actually try different games or did you have go-tos? Can we assume there is no place for video game rentals in today's world? If it was still a thing, would you let your kid rent the same game 52 times in a row like my parents did? Thanks and hope you all have a great week.

Swansonge

What kinds of announcements or events do you look forward to the most during the busy summer games season: release dates for your anticipated titles? Big AAA game reveals? Getting hands on with a cool indie that completely surprises you? Something else?

GoodDuke

Hello everyone! In the past year I have started listening some gaming podcasts and I quickly noticed a similarity across all of them.. the vast majority of the participants play (almost) exclusively new games. I understand of course that it's part of the job, but I am curious, do you ever play older games and just never discuss them on the show (there are of course some exceptions to this but few and far between)? The last AAA I bought full price was God of War (2018) and even though I think I play a fair amount of games each year (20-30), the backlog(gd) of classics is huge. Apart from keeping up to date with new stuff and supporting devs, what would you say are other reasons that justify the (very) steep launch price when one can get exceptional games very cheaply from the past decade (or the last 30 years if they can handle the graphics and the control/design choices of those eras)? As a 24-year-old I have so many good games to play from older generations that I can't really justify the 80€/$ to get the newest AAA stuff, but I'm curious about other people's thinking.

Bayleaf Moon

G’Day MinnMax! Question for Kelsey: As the resident Xenoblade fan how do you feel about Xenoblade genesis? Also it feels like you got your Triple A JRPG wishes

Nathan

$1million or double jump?

Travis in Fargo

I can’t tell you how excited I am for Doc Lightning, and how meaningful it has been to me (at the time I’m writing this, it’s happening tonight). This is my third year participating, and every year it causes me to stretch old artistic muscles I don’t often use. It’s also wonderful connecting with the amazing people on Discord who are also working on projects. It’s my favorite non-holiday annual tradition. My question is: do you have any favorite recurring non-holiday traditions?

Travis in Fargo

Say you’re going to a friend’s house for a board game night. The gracious guest you are, you bring a 6 pack of adult beverages and your favorite pie you baked from scratch. At the end of the night, there’s half a pie and 2 drinks left. Who gets those, or what’s the process for deciding?

Matt Galeza

Hey all! Has a marketing campaign ever worked on you? I usually despise them, but I did have one that got me - Old Spice. Isaiah Mustafa, Terry Crews, and the like made some ridiculous and hilarious ads and I actually bought in. Thanks! ~Matt ccmg12

Lucas S

Hi all, How long do you think you could go without playing a video game? Purely biologically speaking, your jobs are not a factor.

Travis in Fargo

What video game title sounds stupid… until it doesn’t?

BEEFCAKE

Burn it down, then hope something grows out of the ashes

Wajora

Hey MinnMax, let's assume that instead of everyone releasing their games in the months before GTA VI, the gaming industry collectively decided to all release their games in November. Do you think they could reach a critical mass where they would cause Rockstar to delay their game and what would that number be?

Adam Castellanos

Make the best boy band line up using video game characters.

Michael Nickley

Hey MinnMax, Considering how little of it we saw, wild speculation about the Ocarina of Time remake is still fair game! What design principles from the BotW/TotK era of Zelda would you be most excited to see incorporated? Is there anything from those two games that you would NOT like to see carried over?

Shane G

Fuse your Favorite Games! I want you to turn to the podcaster beside you and share your number one favorite game with them. These two games have now become fused together into a new and exciting 'Super Game' that encompasses aspects of both games. Which podcast pairing created the more enticing amalgam?

phoenix

Hey crew! How do you stay passionate about video games? I would consider games a deep love of mine but it's easy to imagine how having to focus on it for work can become draining, especially when so many games are middling. What do you do to keep that fire alive?

DontBashAsh

What’s your best summer gaming memory? Mine is the summer of 99: I got an N64 and Ocarina of Time for my 14th birthday and me and my lil sis spent hours playing together. She held the Nintendo Power guidebook and took notes for me while I held the best designed controller ever (lol) and explored my first 3D open world.

Jump On Everything

When has games journalism sold you on a game you weren't interested in beforehand

Memory Card

What's the game you've gifted to the most people? When Golf With Your Friends was on sale recently, I went on a tear and bought it for at least 10 people. I've also bought Undertale and Void Stranger for a bunch of people.

Alex

Hey MinnMax crew, I’m just old enough to remember a time when “selling out” was considered gross. I miss that. Currently, it feels like we frequently hear about yet another studio getting shutdown or having a severe round of layoffs no matter how well their games sell, because their corporate parent company insists Line Must Always Go Up. Moving forward, do you think we’ll see more studios choose to remain independent in response? What witchcraft do we need to invoke to ensure a studio like Larian doesn’t sell out to Microsoft or some other soulless entity?

aaaChandler

Would you find it weird if a fan met you and didn't tell you they're a big fan? What if they used their knowledge of you to make the interaction go really well? Have you ever gotten along a little too well with a stranger that you became suspicious of this? It's important that Ben answers this. Thanks

Alastair

Hey MinnMax, Has there ever been a promotion that worked on you that you’re mad about? I don’t want to support McDonald’s or FIFA, but I love Heung-Min Son so much, I want the collectible cup and I’ve now been 3 times as a result

Coxtopher

What that means?

Alon Zwick

Hi MinnMax! For everyone except Ben, what are your hopes and dreams for FF7 Revelations?

Azza G

hey Minnmax, I got a question, why the hell are any developers being encouraged to use AI? Both Crazy Taxi and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis announced on there steam page use of AI in the creative process and I think my hype for both games has completely evaporated. I don't think I'm alone in being immediately turned off by seeing AI anywhere next to a game. But now I find it hard to believe that other publishers such as Ubisoft, EA or Microsoft arent experimenting with it considering there experiencing doing evil bullshit. Do you think these companies will stop encouraging use of AI thanks to the backlash, or is it too little too late at this point and soon every game will have similar disclosures on steam? How long until Nintendo has to disclose AI use in 'concept development' like Sega? Fuck AI

Josh LaBaw

Hello Cohorts, When is the last time you vacuumed your PC? I'm Better Questing to do it no less than 4 times a year. These parts ain't getting cheaper.

Rikimaru

Hi MinnMax! Was this the best week of summer game announcements ev- never mind let's play "What Was Missing!?" PlayStation State of Play Opener: Marvel's Wolverine Closer: God of War Laufey Middle: Ace Combat, Kemuri, and Until Dawn 2 What was missing? Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet OR Kena: Scars of Kosmora Summer Game Fest Opener: Resident Evil Veronica Closer: Final Fantasy VII Revelation Middle: Alien Isolation 2, gen ATLAS, and Stellar Blade What was missing? Grand Theft Auto VI OR Kojima Xbox Games Showcase Opener: Gears of War: E-Day Closer: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Middle: Crazy Taxi, Persona 6, and Spyro: A Realm Beyond What was missing? Marvel's Blade OR OD KNOCK Nintendo Direct Opener: Rhythm Heaven Groove Closer: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Middle: Final Fantasy Resonance, Kingdom Hearts 4, Xenoblade Genesis What was missing? Luigi’s Mansion 4 OR Super Smash Bros? Bonus: Laying the big shows out like this, what was the best opener, closer, and middle? Also, shout out to the many indie showcases that all had amazing showings as well!

Bon Jon Bovi

Seriously. The series has gradually built up enough street cred that I really hope more people jump on with this new starting point (and that Monolith is being super ambitious with this one)

Bon Jon Bovi

The devs for the new Virtua Fighter game specifically said that their story mode is inspired by Watchmen. What is the most out-there source of inspiration that you would want your favorite series to draw from?

Bon Jon Bovi

And fun fact, Virtua Fighter Crossroads has David Hayter credited for "World Development" (he wrote the 2009 Watchmen movie)

Luis

Did this week of showcases actually move the needle for you, or are you still just waiting for the same big games you've been waiting for?

Brian Moore

That Nintendo Direct was chock full of games I'm excited about. For maybe the first time ever, I was even excited for the montage (the Tales remake was so unexpected). Do you have an event, Direct, State of Play, etc. that stands out to you over the years as being pretty much made in a lab for you personally?

Charlie F.

Sup Minnmax, The game of show survey was such a fun idea but it was really hard to choose just one. That got me thinking, what about a Mount Rushmore of games from SGF 2026? So Cohorts, which 4 are you choosing? The 4 I got are Marvel's Wolverine, Crossfire, Gears of War E-Day, and Spyro: A Realm Beyond

Jeeo Banogy

Hey Minnmax! Do you think that when Yoshiaki Koizumi was doing the little thumb-wrestling demo that he accidentally got really into it? What was the last thing to unexpectedly hook you in? Hope you guys can take a nice break after the rush of big games!

BEEFCAKE

A glass of nails.

BEEFCAKE

Either the strawberry shortcake or the chocolate one like it

Troy Ellison

I'm planning to dive back in. Xenoblade is a top 10 game for me but I dropped off as I never got a Wii u and the vibe of XC2 drove me away. I've owned XC3 for a while but never got around to it. With the switch 2 editions Im hoping to replay 1 and play 3 before Genesis next year

John

I can't stop watching the spinning video with Janet, Charles, and Ben. Why is it so perfect?

pork bun powered

Hi MinnMax! I'm always jealous that GTA is the franchise that got the billions of dollars, 1000s of developers, unlimited time to bake as opposed to one of my faves. If you get to pick one franchise that got the royal treatment, what franchise would you pick and what do you think it'd look like? Pretend it doesn't matter how well it would sell.

Troy Ellison

Are the announcement teasers with little shown of the actual game worth it any more for big AAA games? Maybe it was the leaks, but the announcements for Ocarina of Time and Persona 6 fell really flat for me. I wish I could see what the actual game looks like instead of get a notion of a vibe and a questionable art direction. I think it works for Indies still, but if it's a bigger game I'm expecting, I want to see more

Jack Seage

What's a piece of media / work of art that never fails to make you cry (or at least tear up)?

mantaguy

Hey cohorts! About a month ago, I heard some people say that you shouldn't buy Annapurna games because their publisher was founded by Megan Ellison, the daughter of billionaire and Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, who has been vocally and financially supportive of the Israeli Defense Forces. Do we know for sure that Larry actually profits off of Annapurna's ventures, or that Megan actually agrees with her father about the abovementioned topic? Or is this just another form of glorified mud-slinging around Mixtape? Also, Kingdom Hearts 4 was the SGF game of the show. So hyped!

betoq92 .

Hello Minnmax With all the ports we saw at the Nintendo direct, how often are you guys playing ports? The best one I can think of is Mario kart 8 deluxe. Are there any other ports you guys really love. Thank you.

Brad Grenz

Ahoy MinnMarinars, I feel like XBOX fumbling the bag with their new exclusives pledge really overshadowed what was a way smarter and more interesting announcement in their showcase: they are trying to turn Sea of Thieves into a Roblox! As the new season adds "custom islands" with a variety of user defined gameplay types, it sure seems like they are trying to lean into the friend-sloppiness of it all, with the mode-sampling flow of Roblox. Can a free to play pivot be far behind?

Limp Bizquick

Hey Minnesota Maximum! Just finished watching obsession for the first time and I really loved it. There’s something so uniquely fun about watching a scary movie with an audience full of equally terrified strangers. What’s the most scared you’ve been at a movie theater?

LlorchDurden

"Core before more" clearly! they sent a memo :P

LlorchDurden

what if GTA6 flops? We're seeing a +/- 60 days blast zone on releases just cause GTA. Who's decided we're "ALL" playing GTA day one? it's not even out on PC? I think everyone is over reacting a bit too much.

quilatoo

Is Nintendo’s style of Direct presentation starting to grate? I know I don’t have to be the intended audience for absolutely everything in life but there’s only so many hours of trailers and announcements I can take where a games company assumes I’ve never played a video game before!

Random Oil Man

In a world where games mostly either over-hyped and disappointing or total surprise hits, what's the last game that was exactly as good as you thought it would be upon release?

Hi MinnMax! I just had the experience of being wowed by the trailer for 1666 Amsterdam and then being disappointed by its demo. What's your biggest "let down" from a teaser or trailer to actual gameplay?

Hi MaxMinn! This week, two years after release, Ninja Theory changed the name of the second Hellblade game from "Senua's Saga: Hellblade II" to "Hellblade II: Senua's Saga." Since we're just allowed to do this now, what other names would sound better with their titles and subtitles switched around?

Does Minnmax have a plan for how you will be covering the glut of games scheduled for September. Seems like you might actually need to do a binding six-shooter duel just to pick who covers what.

Hi minnmax. It looks like 2027 is about to be the year of JRPGs. We got FF14 Evercold, FF7 revelation, Persona 4 revival, Xenoblade genesis, Murasasa, Stranger than Heaven, and with leaks saying we might get Persona 6 and Kingdom Hearts 4 that year as well. My question to Kelsey, is she satisfied now? I know she said there weren’t too many RPGs she was excited for this year. It looks like they all moved to 2027.

Did anyone have a better SGF season than Maximilian Dood? He enjoyed the look at Wolverine, emotionally screamed when Tifa was announced for SF6, then was excited to see FF7 Revelation, then almost immediately after he had Naoki Hamaguchi, the director for FF7 Revelation, come to his house for an interview, then got Crazy Taxi trailer he has been asking for, and then he was happy for his fans who had been begging for another Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer. Not to mention all the games and interviews he got after that. Has your SGF week been as satisfying for you as it has been for Max? When was the last time you had an exceptional summer games preview week?

Hey MinnMax, I wanted to thank Kyle and sites like Game Informer and Kotaku for reporting on the generative AI concerns with Crazy Taxi: World Tour. The initial Steam disclaimer for the game was incredibly vague and followup questions are apparently needed now to allow consumers to make informed decisions. I’m glad Sega walked back from the incredibly low bar they first set now stating that AI was only used for references and will not be in the final game, but the damage has already been done and I doubt I will even bother with this new game. I can't think of any reason why Crazy Taxi would need AI for conceptual designs. As AI slowly encroaches on my job and hobbies I’m still figuring out where to draw the proverbial line in the sand. For now I’m just appreciative of everyone here for speaking out to developers and publishers, asking questions, and making sure they are aware of the issues with this industry. Are you seeing any positive shifts in the industry away from AI use?

Hey cohorts! I love Unicorn games, as Tim Gettys calls them. Big dream games that become part of the industry hive mind and spice up every prediction list. With FFVII: Revelation being announced, we are coming to the finale of one of the biggest Unicorn games of all time. This SGF and recent years have also seen a bunch of other Unicorn games come into the light: Kingdom Hearts 4, Ocarina remake, GenAtlas, Silksong etc. I'm in my 30s now and a massive FF7 fan. And I find myself asking: Are we running out of Unicorn games? What do you think is lined up to become the next Unicorn game?

M’s waiting room in 007 First Light has three copies of the same painting on the walls. What cut corners have you noticed in otherwise high budget games?

Hello Ben Benihana! After watching so many games announced for September and October, it's obvious to most people that the industry is bending over backwards to avoid competing with GTA6. My question is, are we all over hyping GTA6?? What if it ends up being the biggest disappointment in gaming history??

Hi MM - this is probably too late, just after the cutoff (but if so I’ll attempt to re-submit next week… 😝) You can permanently add one feature from any game into every game going forward. What feature do you think improves gaming most as a whole? Something that comes to mind for me would be the often called for option to have in-game lore delivered via audiologue as an alternative to reading copious amounts of text, or for me personally Hades 1 is one of my favourite games of last several years (and if i’m being honest all-time… 🤔) but after putting in more than 175 or so hours into it (simultaneously across Steam & Switch - god bless cross progression!!) I still hadn’t seen all the character arcs and dialogue, even as i was reaching my burnout limit with actual gameplay (nothing lasts forever) - as such, one of the features I most wish it had was an auto-play option, or skip gameplay/battle option to be able to get to and savour all the wonderful, beautiful connections I’d fostered over such a long period (that I fear I’ll never get to see personally - outside of youtube hopping thru all characters; but attempting to find the exact right spots in each journeys where I got to, despite everyone’s order and personal character combination experiences, being almost entirely unique) Cheers

With the new Lego Batman bringing in Rocksteady developers to assist and elevate the game, what developers do you think TT Games should bring in to collab next? For example, Machinegames for Lego Indiana Jones, or my personal pick, Insomniac for Lego Spider-Man!

I wish more people talked about 1666 Amsterdam, but that also seemed to be when streams of the show were breaking the most. But it's such an interesting story! 16 years in various stages of development! Patrice Desilets! Another old THQ project brought back to light, after being bought out and snubbed by Ubisoft in the middle there! Now that we're a bit removed from the show, what'd you all think? I played the demo and it was super rad.

Dominic Cichocki

Xenoblade deserves so much credit, that series arguably helped bring Nintendo tech forward and made games like Breath of the Wild possible

So tired of gamers. Literally told to kill myself in the comments of the Nintendo reaction because i didnt like the direct. Gamers are subhuman robots that worship their corporate overlords

Hey MinnMax, Summer games fest has really had me wondering, why do gamers like exclusives? I get why the likes of Sony and Microsoft like exclusives as it theoretically shifts consoles, but why do gamers? Surely more games being on more platforms is a good thing but, when i look online, all I see are gamers excited that Gears of War isn't coming to PlayStation. Am I just out of touch??

Hey MinnMax, Who is the smallest size content creator you subscribe to? Shout them out!

What will the dark twist in Vivarium be?

What is your favorite game, that already exists, that you haven’t played yet? The one that you know you would love but you just haven’t made the time. Teaser of the show would be Persona 6. Game with a release date would be Fable.
