Todd From Savage, MN here. Do you think having Halo Infinite launch on Xbox One limits what they can do with the game vs only being on Scarlett and PC and utilizing the next gen tech?

Wes Bates

Hey MinnMax Crew, In your opinion, what is the most underrated or underappreciated game this year? Thanks and keep up the maxing! ~ Wes Bates Woodland, CA

StillGotGame

Hey team I’m curious of your thoughts on what Sony needs to do to dominate the next console generation and, in particular, whether exclusives would be enough. I have always been a Playstation advocate and really thought Microsoft dropped the ball this generation. However, I managed to get an Xbox One at a good price when Forza came out. Since then, I haven’t bought a game for the system, preferring to make purchases on the PS4, but I find myself playing games from Game Pass most of the time. Now I am more inclined to buy Jedi Fallen Order on the Xbox since this is the console I’m playing more regularly. Also, I am intrigued by the Xbox All Access offer allowing me to upgrade at next console launch. Do you feel that Sony will need to provide a better alternative to Game Pass or some other quality of life offers to keep their market share next gen? Could their first party offerings be enough? OldScotland - Brisbane, Australia

On the last episode suriel and Kyle mentioned their time in college. Would love to know where you all went to school and what you studied. Did you always want to do that major? What’s a favorite memory from college? Mitch from Houston

Edgar Vazquez

Hey Twonners, I just watched Terminator: Dark Fate (or Destino Oculto in Spanish) in Mexico, in Spanish. I never even knew that the movie mostly took place IN MEXICO, it even has scenes of La Bestia (a dangerous train ride through Mexico) and a border crossing with a coyote. It really gave the movie a different tone than I would have watched it in the states. Have you guys ever experienced any entertainment that was given a different tone or context because of where or when you watched it?

Craig Hernandez

Hey MinnMax Crew, with the launch of Disney Plus today what shows or movies are you looking forward to watching on the service? Any old movies you never got around to watching but may watch now? I am very excited to check out the Mandalorian and to start watching every episode of X-Men the animated series again. Such great memories of that show from my childhood.

psychonaut716

Now that you have left GI who has the burden of the exiled "Ride to Hell: Retribution" video file? I know it was taken down due to being a bit messy, any chance highlights or chunks of that will ever see the light of day again?

TJ Starman

Hey MinnMax with 2 N’s Crew! I’ve been thinking about video game sequels and spinoffs and the world-building that come with them. Specifically, I’ve been thinking about how past games have introduced a new genre to a series to add variety to the gameplay (Halo Wars for example). In your opinion, what series of games is primed for a spinoff or sequel that carries the series into a new genre? I’d love to see Overwatch transition into a shoot & loot style single player game. I’ve loved what you guys have been doing so far, I wish you all the best!

Ryan

Hey Crew, With esports rising and rising and more games looking to find their way inside, do you see any design trends that are benefiting gaming overall or is this esports race more a race to the bottom and negatively impacting design? Thanks.

Will K

Behold, hosts, a game! Below are pairs of games: one the original, one the HD remaster or remake. The aim of the game is to try and guess which game has the higher Metacritic score, OR if they're tied with the same score. Easy, right? Let's begin: God of War III (PS3, Metacritic Score: 92) / God of War III Remastered (PS4, 81) Resident Evil (Gamecube, 91) / Resident Evil HD Remaster (PS4, 83) Resident Evil II (PSX, 89) / Resident Evil II Remake (PS4, 91) Shadow of the Colossus (PS2, 91) / Shadow of the Colossus (PS4, 91) Metro 2033 (PC, 81) / Metro 2033 Redux (PC, 90) Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Gamecube, 96) / Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (WiiU, 90) Metroid Prime 1, 2, and 3 (Gamecube/Wii, average Metacritic score: 93) / Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii, 91)

Lewis K

How have you all been getting better in the last few weeks since MinnMax launched? I’m back at the gym (again) and eating a bit better. Also trying to be an overall better listener AND NOT JUST TO PODCASTS!! Thanks guys.

Tim Lorow

Omg there are so many comments

Tim Lorow

How bout that Sonic redesign?

Dan Willey

It's highly likely that this spring's AAA launches (Last of Us 2, Cyberpunk, Final Fantasy VII Remake) will all see re-releases on the PS5 and Scarlett. I'm still gaming on a release model PS4 and I would no doubt be playing vastly inferior versions of these games if I bought them at launch. For that reason, it's tempting to wait until the next generation of consoles to dive in. Do you plan on holding off on any releases this coming year in anticipation of next-gen consoles? Did you do so during the end of the last console generation cycle? If so, did you experience any regret?

Christopher Hirawady

Hey guys, Chris from Jakarta, Indonesia here, what is the best one-two punch of your personal movie of the year and game of the year that you guys can remember? Last year’s Black Panther and God of War is probably mine.

chris cuevas

Hey Hanson, Suriel, JeffM, and Kyle. Chris Cuevas from Odessa Tx here. What Star Wars thing are you guys most excited about? After watching the first episode of Mandalorian I think I'm more excited to see the series unfold than watching how JJ Abrams wraps up the final trilogy or playing through Fallen Order.

Aaron Bivens

Are there any big games you guys want to complete by the end of the year? There's so many big games coming out next year that I feel like I've got to start wrapping up some of the games I've yet to finish.

FlaminQueso

Dear Ben and the Former Informers (name?), Out of all the studios you all have visited on cover story trips over the years, which one do you think would you want to work for? Let’s say you’re a game programmer or designer and could get a job working on at any studio past or present. What would be the idea studio to work in and why? Thanks, FlaminQueso from Houston, TX P.S. I think Sonic Drive-in is more recognizable than Flash Player (Adobe)

James Pinto

Alright folks. Considering this seems to be a bit more relaxed I was wondering what everyone's drink of choice is? Maybe even as far as what brand if it's booze or type of beer and the brewery it is from. Thanks with two n's.

Brian Keese Jr

Dear Ben Hanson, One of your oh so intrepid mods here. This might be too hyper specific but I've noticed that when you interact with us in the Discord, even in DMs, you always use impeccable grammar. Does this come from years of working around so many print journalists, and now that you're stuck with all of us, what's the over under on how long until your syntax and sentence structure implode? LMAO, Roland

Jared Barzee

Hey fellas, greetings from Kansas City! I wanted to ask you about your most agonizing waits for a release you've anticipated. My favorite band Tool FINALLY released their newest album back in August after 13 long years of waiting with little to no updates until things started ramping up early this year. I was a junior in HS when their last album came out. Now, age 30, married with 2 kids, and a career it truly felt surreal to hear new music from them after all this time. Whether it's a music album, movie, video game or anything else I was curious what would you consider your most exhausting wait? Did it live up to the hype? Do you feel like you had the proper expectations before hand? Would love to hear you all discuss. -Jared Barzee

NanookOfThePrairie

Your comments about gaming with your parents brought back this memory from a few months ago when I introduced my dad to the Oculus Quest. He was having a great time going through the tutorial, but had been playing for a while, so I told him that it was time to give someone else a turn and that I was going to walk up to him and help him remove the goggles. I forgot that he is hard of hearing, and with the Quest's speakers in his ears he didn't hear a word I said. As I approached him, he threw a punch that hit me square in the chest, knocking me backwards across the room. He might be hard of hearing, but he still packs a hell of a punch! I wasn't hurt, but he was embarrassed about leveling his grown son and he hasn't asked to play again.

RhodeZero

I just finished getting every trophy in AC Odyssey, including both the patched-in quests and the DLCs. It took me 125 hours, and I still have a dozen or so sidequests to check out at some point. What is the most amount of time you've put into a single save file for a single-player game? (Also...my actual record is 350 hours in Pokemon Diamond 😬)

Jacob McCourt

Jablinski Games is Jack Black's YouTube Gaming Channel where he rarely plays video games. For what I believe to be the second time ever this week, he played a video game: the new Jumanji Video Game. My question: was Jablinski Games simply an elaborate marketing ploy to market the game?

Zaid Al-Wasiti

Hey dudes, what is the best interview you have ever conducted? I’m talking an interview that you walked away from and thought that it couldn’t have gone better. Thanks!

Dave Yannetty

Hey Maxi Dads, It’s me, Dave. As we all know, the best part of RPGs is naming your characters. What is the best name you have ever given a character in a video game? In Pokémon Blue, I named my trainer “A Child” and I named my rival “Lonely Boy.” I appreciate all of you!

Chris Logan

Question for you Ben: what ultra specific stats are you tracking with this show? I know you loved the crazy observations listeners sent in on the GI Show about how many times certain words were said, or how many times specific people appeared on the podcast, so I figured with this fresh start you'd probably have an odd thing or two you wanted to track. Cheers, Chris from Houston

Jonathan Dinh

Hey Ben and Friends, What dormant series would you like to be revived with a sequel? I thought of Jade Empire with expanded Sleeping Dogs combat and a faction based open-world/semi open world. Or honestly a sequel to the Trauma Center games from the DS and Wii (I don’t even know if a lot of people know these games). What are your guys’ choices?

Jeeo Banogy

Hey guys, So I'm a big fan of when games have their home base or hub that the player stays in change throughout the course of the game. This is something that really drew me into The Division (1&2), and something that really rubbed me the wrong way in my play-through of Dragon Age Inquisition. This something that you guys really pay attention to in games? Are there any other games that do this well? Gettin a nice arctic blast here, hope you guys are staying warm!

Melissodora

Hello fellas! What game(s) do you have the fondest nostalgia for and why? For example, mine would be Final Fantasy 6. My friend Megan and I would have sleepovers and trade off playing for hours because we both loved the characters and their stories. It was our tradition to make popcorn and a copycat form of Disneyland’s slush-like frozen lemonade to enjoy while we played too. Happy memories all around! I hope you all have a good week!

Richard Tweedy

Hey all, Has there been a game that you enjoyed, but you had to give up on because of the difficulty? I recently decided to give up on Enter the Gungeon, whose core gameplay I really enjoy, because I looked at my game clock and realized I had put twenty hours in without ever getting past the third floor.

Pascal Firlus

Hey MinnMax-Crew, congratulations on your Patreon and the fulfiment of your dreams. In the context of the reviews of DMC5 and Astral Chain I came across the genre description „Character Action Game“. I‘ve never heard of it before and I can‘t shake off that feeling, that this is the most stupid and banal genre description of them all. I mean, this describes almost 90% of all games. Why isn’t Uncharted a Character Action Game? Or Wolfenstein? There is no distinction. Who came up with this s**t and what would be a better alternative? You do a great job, I‘m loving all the Spoilercasts and Game Clubs already. Greetings from Frankfurt (Germany), Pascal

Nejin

Hey MaxxMinners, you are givin a lamp with an overly particular genie. You get 3 wishes that can each only be used to affect the behaviour and decision making of game fans, games media, and game devs/publishers respectively. How do you wish to change each group? Kevin in West Hartford CT

Steven Toth

I recently replayed Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast (what a dumb name) on switch and it got me thinking- in the 90’s-00’s we got a “good” (like, not bad but not amazing) Star Wars game pretty much every year. I bought and played all of them and loved my times with rogue squadron, racer, bounty hunter, etc. the fact that we are are getting one single player player wars story a decade kinda bums me out. Question- is there a video game series that, looking back, you feel like you took for granted? Thanks and byyyyyyyyyeeeee

Bdun912

So people on Twitter have started saying there is one month left in the decade, what did you accomplish? What would be your answers? Some are jokes some are serious but mostly this just fills me with existential dread lol 😭

Barrett Boswell

Hey gang, wanted to ask what the heck has happened to The Stanley Parable coming to consoles in 2019? We have not heard anything since that announcement trailer close to this time last year and I've been waiting patiently to check it out. Why has the news on this gone dead. Loving the content MinnMax is providing! Thank you!

Colin Perkins

Our Switch dock got stolen! I run a gaming club at work and we're lucky enough to have an entire room dedicated to playing video games. We updated the room late last year to include an Xbox One S, SNES classic, and a Switch dock so that people could bring their own systems. We thought better of leaving a Switch system in the room for fear that it would get taken. Turns out the dock was just as appealing for thieves. We are all very confused and sad...who steals stuff like that from work!? What's the most devastating gaming related possession that you've had stolen (or permanently misplaced)? Colin from St. Paul

Breadward

Hey Benjamin, Jeffrey, Surielliam and Kylexander. Been playing through the Outer Worlds for the Deepest Dive and in it there is a quest that leads you out to a house in the middle of nowhere. Inside are some unsettling characters who invite you to stay for dinner and immediately I knew they were eating people. That cannibal twist has been in so many games at this point (RDR2, The Walking Dead, The Last of Us) I feel like it's a cliche that needs to be given a break for a generation. What's a cliche or trope you would do away with for the next generation of games? Also you should create a tier on Patreon that allows people to sponsor that tv in the background and put whatever they want on it (within reason). Thanks guys!

Jawarhello

Hey crew, per Hanson's request, I wanted to mention some of the songs that come to mind for me. Everybody's Fool and Hello by Evanescence, Zombie and Dreams by the Cranberries, Hands Held High by Linkin Park, and Kenshi by Fort Minor. Anyway, my question this week is what is the criteria you use for deciding GOTY? Do you look for the best made game or the game that's most fun to play? For example, if you didn't have fun with Death Stranding but you appreciated how well made it is from a technical sense, would you ever consider it GOTY? Keep up the great work guys, loving everything you've put out so far!

grimmfeather

Dear MinnMax Crew, Since I've got Star Wars on the brain... What is your ideal version of lightsaber combat in a video game? How close do you think Jedi: Fallen Order will come to hitting that mark? When you play a Star Wars game, do you prefer to play as a Jedi, Sith, or character without Force powers? In games like KotOR, do you tend to choose the light- or dark-side options, or do you fall somewhere in the middle?

Travis Manick

Hello you little Minnxes, I have a completely unwarranted conspiracy theory about Google Stadia. Google doesn't actually want to get into the gaming scene, they just want to push a streaming product that will get more and more people begging for faster internet AKA Google Fiber. Thoughts on my genius? Do you have any conspiracy theories about the gaming industry? Thanks, Travis Manick

Kezia Darling

I know that at least Ben enjoys tabletop games; will tabletop gaming ever become a part of your coverage? I’d love to see it!

Jon Mickelson

Hey there, fellow former employees of a certain increasingly irrelevant corporation. Bummed out that I never went to visit your table at conference! I love the show, I’m thrilled that Ben put together something so positive and inclusive in the wake of the layoffs. I’ve been listening to everything but The Outer Worlds stuff but I will certainly go back once I’ve reached those points in the game. Anyway, I had a thought about the name for the community: why not something like “Communnity, two ‘n’s”? I think it’s charming that you say “two ‘n’s” at the end of MinnMax, and you already refer to the community as “the community.” Thanks for what you all do, can’t wait to see where MinnMax will take you!

Terry Pierson

I have played Clash Royale almost every day for three years now. It amazes me to think about how much longer I have played it than games I regularly consider foundational to me. What is your longest tenured game? Terry from St. Louis

Justin Griffiths

Hey crew, what is the most interesting feature of a game that you saw in a preview build of a game, that then was cut before release?

Dunder

Hey MinnMax Crew, Will you be tuning in to the Xbox XO19 event on Thursday? If so, what are your expectations for it? Do you think more Project Scarlett details will be unveiled to reclaim some of the public mindshare on next-gen consoles? Justin from Alexandria, MN

MyNameIsDan

Hey Max Stats, I'd appreciate it if you could pass the following on to all those in the pokemon community hating on the decisions made for sword and shield: Y'ALL CAN GO SUCK A FART. If you could read this out on your show it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Dan from Fitchburg, MA

tbeeks15

Hey crew! What day do you record the episode or pull questions from the post for the episode? How long of a window do we have to get our questions in each week? Pumped for you guys and what the future holds and happy to support! Love & Respect!

Dakota Salmeron

Hey, MinnMax crew Dakota Salmeron (Sal Muh rone) here. Quick and easy, what game comes to mind when you think "That was a good damn game ( or gamer ass game for gamers because you haven't said it on MinnMax yet.) I'm going to go back and play it." Only to just put it right back down? As always great job guys and thanks. Can't wait for the tabletop streams and possibly some DnD.
