Content

On January 22nd, we're kicking off our community game club discussion on one of the greatest games of all time: Chrono Trigger! Please play along with us (the first discussion will cover everything up to when you reach the End of Time after the future section) and we'll have a Patreon post right here on January 20th asking you to leave a comment with your super specific thoughts on the game. We want you to dive in deep and write about your favorite moment, weapon, line of dialogue, sprite, the more specific the better.

Chrono Trigger is available on Steam, DS, Vita (technically, but the PS1 version has long loading), iOS, Android, and you can probably figure out how to play it by some other inventive means!

Thanks everybody, we're really looking forward to this big game club!

Does anyone know if this plays ok on iOS?

AJ Lira

Awesome, never played Chrono Trigger before. Looking forward to playing it on my 3DS!

Average Snorlax

Looking forward to playing it for the first time!

Christopher Powell

Nice! Gives me an excuse to play it all the way through for the first time. I only played certain parts at my friend's house when I was younger.

Yes! I am so excited for this! The second you guys started to talk about the new deepest dive and I heard the music playing in the background I involuntarily shouted "Yes! CHRONO TRIGGER!!" before you actually got to naming it. The music in the game is so iconic to me, its analogous to the Starwars soundtrack. Not that it would have been a bad movie necessarily without its iconic music, but can you try to imagine the Starwars intro text scrolling without the blaring orchestra behind it? The music in Chronotrigger pulls me in to nostalgia mode just as deeply as when I hear the imperial march. Cant wait.

STAMPEDE

A book club, but with games? Eek! I am so excited. Never played Chrono Trigger but purchased right after you announced it on the podcast.

Lucy Yearwood

Don't have the time, well really the desire to play a 20hr JRPG but will nonetheless enjoy hearing you guys geek out about it so I can understand what I'm missing. I remember actually replaying Portal for a GI game club and that was super fun so to those who are participating: enjoy!

Joshua D

Looking forward to playing this, for those who have played it already any idea how long until the part of the game we stop at?

Yarrow

Never played it, but I picked it up recently on a Steam sale and am really looking forward to this!

Craig Hernandez

I was so excited when you guys announced this as the next Deepest Dive. I remember playing this on the SNES and again later on the PS. I think I have to buy it a 3rd time in my life for this. I'm also really excited to see what the community who hasn't played it in the past think of it.

Ben Fuchs

It's also available on the super nintendo lol

neuroflare

Oops got to the stopping point last night. Only took about 4 1/2 hours, I guess I'll do it again with what I learned the first time.

MickManga

I think will be the first game club I take part in I'm so excited.

BIG!!!!HERB!!!!!!

Robo's theme is totally Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley and I can never unhear it. Also is it possible to get found not guilty in the trial? I've never managed to do that

What is the best settings for DS version? Game mode DS or Classic? Battle Mode Active or Wait?
