Hello Hen Banson and the NNimXammers, In the fake but should be real, Smash Brothers style Pixar fighting game: Who is your main? What is your favorite stage? Who is the most universally hated character? What are some of the best items? Stages? Thanks for all that you do! J. Walter Weathermen

I just wanna know more about kyle and his whole Gaming Ride Home podcast. Im digging it so far, real chill and news focused without lacking personality. It came out of nowhere, how did this come about and why now?

Hey Ben and the Bubly Bubble Blasters, lately I've been facinated with video game maps. Thinking of how someone could create such huge fortress cities, magnificient mountain ranges, luscious forests, roaring rivers, and even futuristic floating cities in the sky is nothing short of mind blowing. It seems that if someone is to create a video game map they would have to be nothing short of a real life cartographer. Just imagine 100 hour experiences condensed into one screen. My question is: If you could create your own game world what would it entail? Would you create a sci-fi world set on an unknown planet with hidden temples, mysterious relics, and dangerous creatures? Or maybe underground cities with a network of tunnels that utilize futuristic technology to shape surrounding caverns? Points for creativity. Thank you for all that you do.

Hello all, If you were pokemon gym leaders, who had one type of pokemon you used, which type would be your specialty? I'd be a fighting type gym leader.

Sup JRPG (Jeff, Ruriel, Pen, Gyle), What advice do you have for people out there trying to get into podcasting? Aside from mics, what do recommend in terms of mixing, editing, and where to put it when you have the finished product. Thanks!

Yarrow

Hey Hen Banson and the LCLs! (Laptop Caring Lackys) What is your favorite cutscene ever? Mine would be the secret cutscene at the end of God of War.

Tyler Leitzel

Hello MinnMaxers, I’ve been delving into the Yakuza series for the first time and I LOVE IT!!! From the characters, the combat, and the story. My question for you is, has there ever been a game or game series that you were reluctant to play that when you got around to playing the game/games they instantly grabbed you?

Adam Srayi

Hey Ben and Crew. What is quadruple A? I hear people refer to Microsoft's studio The Initiative as AAAA and I can't imagine what they mean exactly, especially since we haven't seen anything from them. Bonus question: is From Software Triple A?

AnAttackCorgi

Hello MinnMaxxMenn, if you were a dragon, what would you hoard, what would be your most precious item, and how often would people dare to raid your cave? Cheers, AnAttackCorgi

Hey MinnMax, did you know the only Fable soundtrack you can listen to on Spotify is for the unreleased multiplayer game Fable: Legends? Lately a lot of soundtracks, especially Japanese ones, have been added to streaming services, but there are a few holdouts. What soundtracks would like to stream? I vote Persona, because Metroid Prime is never going to happen.

Hi MinnMaxters, Greeting from your most beloved state, Canada! I am very excited to get news about the PS5 and the X series but what do you think will be Sony's response to Xbox GamePass? I have been a PS gamer since the PS3 but looking at the GamePass, it is definitely giving me a great reason to join the Xbox ecosystem. But then I leave all my bought games on my PS account...but i barely go back to play older games... Oh man I am running between these two juggernauts!

Hi Ben and Friends, I have a little game for you this week. Can you name every non-Pokemon game Game Freak has ever developed and released in the US? (All research is from wikipedia.) Mendel Palace - 1990 Smart Ball - 1992 Yoshi - 1992 Pulse man - 1995 (on Sega Channel) Drill Dozer - 2006 HarmoKnight - 2013 Tembo the Badass Elephant - 2015 Pocket Card Jockey - 2016 Giga Wrecker/ Giga Wrecker Alt - 2017/2019 Little Town Hero - 2019 Bonus Question: What is the one Pokemon spin-off (Not including remakes of older generations) that Game Freak developed themselves? Pokemon Quest - 2018 Thanks as always, Chris Bartlett

Hi MinnMax, Enjoy this unexplained ghost story. I grew up in rural VT in an old farmhouse built during the early 1800s. One day during the summer before my senior year in high school year I was out mowing the lawn. While mowing the side of the house by the driveway I happened to look up at the attic window. I saw clear as day a person in the window and thought it was strange that my dad would be up in the attic. As I came around the house I saw my dad standing in the kitchen through the window... I instantly stopped the mower, walked inside and asked if he'd been in the attic, knowing there's no way he could have been. He said no and when I told him about what I saw he completely blew it off. Now, I'm not a big ghost believer but I cannot explain that experience. To me, I saw clear as day a person in the window. Later on when I talked to my brother about it, he was off in the military, he said with a matter of fact tone: "When we were younger I used to wake up and see a lady at the foot of your bed". WTF!

RickyWinterborn

Suriel are you psyched for guilty gear strive? She’s lookin crisssspy

RickyWinterborn

Am i the only one excited for the inevitable going out of business sales at gamestop? I wanna feast on the carcass of the once mighty goliath who i gave obscene amounts of my money to over my childhood

RickyWinterborn

How often do you guys go through the trouble of setting up old video games and how fast do you turn them off?

RickyWinterborn

What do you guys think of all the celebs in cyber punk? Grimes, run the jewels, Keanu etc. Personally I think its sick that there going all out, but I know some people think it would be better if the world was entirely original characters/non celeb talent.

RickyWinterborn

Are they’re too many podcasts in the world? How many gaming podcasts should one person listen to?

RickyWinterborn

This is weird and crossing streams, but shouldn’t Leo host the game informer pod full time? I love Andy but he’s constantly shitting on himself and saying Leo is better/ theres more fan engagement etc... so why not have Leo host? I assume there low on staff and Leo is traveling or something?

Fabled Ursa

What were your favorite childhood toys? I got my first G.I. Joe on my 5th birthday and spent the next several years collecting them. Can’t wait to pass them down to my kids!

Dear MaxaMinns, I love my Vita, but I own way too many games for it digitally. Until recently I've been juggling a 32GB memory card and a 64GB memory card, both stuffed to the gills with Vita, PSP and PS1 games. I finally got fed up and hacked my Vita specifically to use something called the SD2Vita adapter which lets you use a 256GB microSD card via the gamecard slot. It was a bit of a process getting it all working (including the fact that if you format the SD card incorrectly there can be like 100GBs of space that goes missing for cards over 200GBs), but let me tell you, having all that space to install my vast library is absolutely decadent. What's the most indulgent gaming purchase made among the cohort? A lambskin Mario Party glove? A 4TB SSD for Steam? Or a controller cozie made from Kyle's glorious hair?

Jason

Phil from Texas...I’m playing through Bioshock Infinite right now. What do you guys think is the greatest spiritual predecessor to the Bioshock franchise?

Barnsley Pal

Gents, a few days ago THQ Nordic bought Saber Interactive for $500 million. That's 1/5 the price that Microsoft paid for Mojang and twice the price that Sony paid for Insomniac. What am I missing here? What's the business case for this purchase? Part of the deal is incentive based, but this still seems a lot of money for the studio that brought us such titles as World War Z, NBA Playgrounds, and Spintires:MudRunner. They also recently ported the Witcher 3 to the Switch. Does Tim Willits have the next Fortnight cooking up over there?

Donnie

Hey MinnMax, Why do you think video game movies fall short so often? I was wondering about this after the success of Detective Pikachu and Sonic. Couldn’t Doom just be John Wick-style action flick but with a space marine vs. demons? What’s a game you think has the makings for a good film?

FlaminQueso

Dear Hanson and the Computer Cohort McLovins, If MinnMax was entered to compete in a Tournament of Champions featuring various Video Games Media outlets, which Cohort would be chosen to represent MinnMax and compete in the following games based on skill. (Let’s assume all Cohorts and extended cohorts are available and excited to compete. Each cohort can compete in more than one game if desired. This tournament is for all the marbles so choose wisely!) 1. Mortal Kombat 11 2. Mario Kart 8 3. Call of Duty: MW 4. Super Mario Party (switch) 5. Fortnite 6. Rocket League 7. Super Smash Bro’s Ultimate Bonus Doubles matches!- Select two Cohorts 1. Smash Bro’s Ultimate 2v2 2. Overcooked 2 If it’s not immediately obvious who is chosen for each game, maybe some future streams are required to determine these! Thanks, The Meltiest of Muensters

FlaminQueso

Cohorts and the Hanson, What is your very best experience renting a game from the likes of blockbuster or even more recently with redbox or GameFly? Likewise, what was your worst game rental experience? Thanks, Queso

Yooooooooo everyone!! If you could have a montage in your life, what music would be playing and what activity would you want to be doing during this montage? Also, I work at Norseman Distillery in NE Minneapolis, stop in sometime!! Cheers, Brian

Thom Blackburn

Hi Boiiiiiisssss, What is the likelihood that a Sony first-party studio (other than Media Molecule) will make a PS5 game with Dreams as it's engine? And what studio do you hope uses it? Thanks, Thom from Redmond WA on god's big board

Mark Ramirez

Hey Ben & the cohorting computing lovers What is your personal favorite console of all time? Is your favorite game of all time on that console? PS - loved the Chrono Trigger bonus videos, had a great laugh!

Bob Buel

Morning fellas! You sound like a million bucks - So on the Great GOTY Hunt this week, Suriel briefly mentioned the Tom Cruise movie "Live Die Repeat." Now the interesting thing is this movie originally came out in theatres under the name "Edge of Tomorrow" but the title was changed to the snappier "Live Die Repeat" for the home video release. So this leads to my question; if you were in charge of re-branding and changing the name of some beloved vintage video game franchises, what would you change them to? The name Mega Man? Sounds pretty lame to me - let's spice it up. Super Mario Bros? Yaaawn! Halo? Let's halp them get some re-branding done. Thanks

Bob Buel

Ahoy hoy cohoyts, Last week, Hanson asked for some unexplainable stuff so...here's a story. For as long as I can remember when I was a kid, I had a memory of...a room. The layout of a living room. Nothing too crazy, but also very speicfic. Steep staircase on the far left, gaudy couch up front. Thin structured chairs, almost like patio furniture, on either side of the couch. Wood grain walls. A recessed alcove dining room attached in the back right of the room. And mirrors edge to edge on the walls of that dining room. I could picture it clear as day. Almost like it was a sitcom set and I could see in from the fourth wall, seeing everything in this exact set up; stairs left, couch middle, mirrored dining room right. For years, I would have different dreams in this setting. The 'who' and 'what' didn't especially matter, it was the 'where' that was at least semi-consistent. I always kinda figured it was an amalgam of different TV show living rooms jammed together in my memories - why I kept it my brain? Who knows, I'm no doctor. Now fast forward to when I'm about twenty years old. And I want to get to the bottom of this room. So I sketch out the room. Exactly how I remember it - stairs, couch, mirrors, dining room; the whole sha-bang. I take it to my mom, who didn't know anything about my weird room memory. And without any prompt or set-up, I just show her the drawing and ask her if she recognizes it. With a one second pause, she says "Oh yes of course I do. Thats the house we lived in when you were a baby." Turns out, this was the exact layout of a house I only lived until I was six months old. SIX MONTHS OLD! From there, my family moved to the house I grew up in and my mom still is in. For some reason, in just this six month span, I created a memory so vivid that it stuck around in my head for my entire life. My mom was genuinely surprised at how many of the details were there in the drawing that were actually there in that house - like the steep staircase up to the bedrooms, the tacky wood grain on the walls, what was an actual lawn chair next to the couch (classy stuff, parents) and the mirrored dining room. I never saw that house after that, and as far as I know, we don't have photos of it. So how can I not remember what I had for breakfast yesterday but can remember a house I lived in for only the first six months of my life 20 years later? That, my friends, is unexplainable...

Hello Ben and the computer loving cohosts! Last week you offhandedly said to write in with something strange that happened to you that you can't explain. Well one summer while staying at my mom's; my mom was at work, it was late at night and my brother was sleeping in his room and I was watching tv. I heard a noise come from the kitchen that sounded like that dog toy that's a pig that makes squealing noises when the dog plays with it. Only problem is, we don't have a dog! It happens twice and after I muster up the courage to look, I go down the hall to my brother's room and ask if he's awake. He says "yes." I said "hey did you hear that weird noise from the kitchen?" He said "no, but why did you run down the hall into mom's room?" I slept in his room on the floor that night. We still have no idea what that noise was, but every once in awhile I'll ask him if he remembers it and he always says "yeah that was weird." Anyway, love the show and all the videos, keep up the great work!

Hey Ben and the Hansons Lets pretend really hard that the Playstation Classic was a great success and that retro-mini-console-trend hasn’t peaked yet. Fast forward 20 years and Sony has launched PS2, PS3, and PS4 “Classic” editions. Same formula: $60, scaled down, 20 preloaded games, plug & play TV boxes. What would be each of the gang’s Top 3 best games for each “Classic”? Alternately: Wrong answers only! Keep up the great show Mirko, Dubai UAE

Riley Autumn Logue

Hello Minncrew! What hobbies do you all enjoy besides gaming? Thanks!

Interrotta

Hello Hanson and cohorts! Recently I've been in a gaming slump as everything I play doesn't grab me, because I just need to play The Last of Us Part 2. One of my friends has been telling me to get Nier: Automata since 2018, and I finally took his advice and bought it while it was on sale. Turns out, that's a great game! My question is, are there any games y'all play while waiting for an anticipated title? Or do you just hop around and count the minutes, hours, and days until that title releases? Thanks for all the content! -Nate from Toledo

The Jacques

Hey Minnmax, Here's a philosophical one for you: Suppose you've never played a 'good' game in your life. Would you be able to know if a game is 'bad'?

zak wojnar

Hey sassy boys, I'm a co-op guy, and I'm not picky. I always say, "There are no bad co-op games." I'm currently dragging my brother on an excruciating journey through Fallout 76. I'm having a blast! He's not. I made one of my best friends play the 2013 Star Trek co-op game with me, and my other friend won't stop giving me grief on how I made him play Army of Two that one time. I currently have plans to make an unlucky victim play Aliens: Colonial Marines with me in split-screen. He's an Alien guy, so he won't suspect a thing until it's too late! -Do you have any stories of forcing someone to play a video game with you against their will, or of being made to play a game with a friend because of how much fun they were having? Am I a bad friend? Or am I the best friend? P.S. I think The Entity from Chrono Trigger is the FATE computer from Chrono Cross. Zak Wojnar from New York.

Nick from Atlanta

Hello MinnMax! I enjoyed a somewhat lazy Saturday weekend with the roommate where we watched several hours of Ducktales, which has an amazing theme song. In fact, I think it would be the most widely recognized cartoon theme song. It's catchy and upbeat, it has lyrics which are easy to remember, and I think most importantly, both the original and the 2017 reboot have the same theme song. I think these factors give it a distinct advantage over others like TMNT, which has had many different theme songs, or The Simpsons, which has no lyrics. What are your thoughts? Thanks as always, Nick from Atlanta

Hans Kleinenberg

Hiya. My girlfriend and I will be visiting the US for a grand ol' road trip . In October we'll be flying to Seattle where we'll stay for a day before starting a road trip. The aim is to go north-east first towards the Canadian border, through Washington and Montana, and then circle back through Wyoming, Idaho and Oregon before flying back from Seattle. My question is, can you think of any places or sites that are an absolute must-see, both in Seattle and any of the states mentioned? Not looking for (big) cities, little towns are welcome though! Thanks much! Hans from Haarlem (close to Amsterdam)

Cody Hester

Dear MinnMax, when Jack was on the show a while back, he was talking and said "Godzilla is very personal to me because my father" and my mind immediately filled in the rest of his sentence as "was a Godzilla". Am I the only one who thought this? Thanks, you have a lovely show - Cody from West Des Moines

Fred Dinovo

Howdy! We’ve had some achievement discussion recently. So let me ask this, what are some of your recent real life achievements? Mine is in 2019 I walked 10,229,330 steps. Xoxo

Rob Hudak

I'm a broken record about this, but I think it always bears repeating: The main reason I enjoy being a part of the MinnMax community is how positive, friendly, and welcoming they/we are. Community game nights are an absolute blast. In keeping in that trend of positive reinforcement, what is one accomplishment you're proud of another member at the table having done? Specifically besides MinnMax. No waffling out of this, let them know.

Chris Gillar

What do y’all think of Harmonix’s announcement of Fuser? It looks like a natural next step for the DropMix tech, so I’m excited for new gameplay opportunities but saddened that we won’t get cool card art anymore.

LaRay M. Hare

What’s up MinnMax? (2 Enns) It’s BluMayhem from the Discord. I’m excited for March 2020 in gaming. This year it looks like March has several big gaming releases: Doom Eternal, Biomutant, Animal Crossing, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Bleeding Edge, Half-Life Alyx, MLB, Nioh 2 just to name a few. To me, it seems like it’s jam packed. What’s another month in gaming history as filled to the top like this one?

Anthony J Kane

There are so many questions!! Which ones will you read on the show? Not helpful in PA.

Adam Lewis

Since you're such a fan of video game music why don't you have any jingles between segments?

RickyWinterborn

What do you think of this new harmonix game fuser they just announced? I was thinking how the f did they not make beat saber? Audica seems meh in comparison. I was thinking they need to bring back rock band proper with VR support, and re imagine the drums to be more like beat sabers feel.

Jose Gabriel

Yo CLCs I think its time to drop some more of that hot Dreams content! That game has been gaining some traction recently. May I suggest a sculpting contest between you folks in the vein of the Dragon quest builders 2 video you guys did in GI where Cork absolutely demolished Kyle. Anyways keep up the good work!

Dylan Drazek

Hey [insert clever name for the MinnMax crew here]! I work 12 hour shifts up to five days a week and I go through a LOT of different content from a lot of different places. I often run out of books before my audible renews each month and often run through all the podcasts in my library before the end of my work week. In that case I open my music app and parooze what’s new but never find anything good. When you’re not listening to podcasts, what bands or types of music do you find yourself listening to most often? Stay cool y’all!
