What's an NPC, whether a sidekick or a minor character, that you would like to see get their own game? Could Witcher's Yennefer support her own game, for example? Maybe a Zelda game starring...Zelda?!

RickyWinterborn

did any of you get addicted to animal crossing? ive played every single day for prob 40 days now? (got it launch day) ive never gotten into minecraft or games like this, but the balance of simplicty and freedom in ACNH is so hard to quit.

RickyWinterborn

with the rumoured ps5 mega event, is xbox effed this gen AGAIN? xbox has survived basically as a 3rd party game box (cod, sports games etc) but so far they still dont seem to have any god of war level exclusives, youd think years ago theyd realize they have to focus on getting at least a few of these system sellers out? i know they bought a bunch of studios but so far things are looking meh

RickyWinterborn

i think u've answered this, but what are your studio plans now? still looking to move into a separate space? remodel the basement? a slick studio designed with minnmax's colorscheme in mind could be dope...

DarkFishDays

This is a question that leads to sort-of a game: What’s your method for organizing games on console? Do you name Xbox groups and PS4 folders by genre, length, mood, or some other convention? Using your current groups and folders, where would you put these games? Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons SOMA Yoku’s Island Express Donut County Inside (Feel free to gamify this more if you want.) Thanks as always!

RickyWinterborn

what ps5 launch game would force you to buy a console day one?

RickyWinterborn

u think there gonna make a cyberpunk themed series x? the one they revealed is one of the coolest themed consoles ive ever seen, but who wants a old xbox now...

RickyWinterborn

do you think psvr 2 is coming at ps5 launch or next spring or something? all the patent leaks make it sound really sick, similar to the valve index setup

Jason Wojnar

Since you'll be talking about GOATS, I'd love the panel's impressions and memories on Metal Gear Solid 2. I feel like I could write a whole essay on why its plot is so mesmerizing, but many others have already done it. Did you play it when it came out, unknowing of the protagonist switcheroo? Have you played it recently? Does it hold up for you? Do you feel the like the resolutions in Metal Gear Solid 4 retroactively lessen the game's impact? As an added note, Hideo Kojima was influenced by a trilogy of Novellas by Paul Auster called "The New York Trilogy" which are excellent reads regardless of their thematic connection to MGS2, but absolutely a must for any fan of Kojima's work.

RickyWinterborn

do ya'll like any early access games the way they are? i'm currently addicted to playing skater XL while listening to music/podcasts. i feel like i actually don't want challenges/story added to this game, it's so nice just having it be a stress free playground.

Hey howdy hello, everyone! Have you ever had a video game or a game moment you love, but can't seem to explain to anybody without sounding like a complete loon? I ask because last year, I got a badass tattoo of Pascal from the game NieR: Automata, as that game holds a personal spot in my heart. But when someone compliments my tattoo and asks where it's from, I always get tongue-tied talking about the game, both because NieR: Automata sounds like gibberish when said out loud and because explaining the tattoo is big spoilers and/or big personal oversharing. So now I just say "I think the robots are cool." Can any of you relate to something similar? Or am I just proving my own awkwardness here? Regardless, love the show, stay safe y'all :-)

RickyWinterborn

hanson mentioned he has a mame cabinet, do you actually play it or is it one of those things where you just boot up a few classic games for nostalgia then give up?

Seth Parmer

Hello, Minnmaxers! If you had to choose a Soulsborne boss to live with you for one full week, which one would it be and why? Thanks!

RickyWinterborn

pinball machines were mentioned, my uncle has 150-ish, he sells them/repairs/trades etc. He has all the classics, Terminator 2 Judgement Day, Mideval Madness, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, etc...

Taylor Owens

I never played Tony Hawk, instead I had Thrasher: Skate and Destroy on my ps1. I didn’t know any better. Did you ever play any knockoff games instead of the real thing when you were a kid?

Ben Shively

Hello fellow Ben and the Computer Loving Cohorts! Like many of you, I have been using this time to go through my gaming backlog. With this, I feel like I will always associate games I complete during COVID-19, like Alan Wake, with the quarantine. Do you have games that you have played during certain times of your life that immediately transport you back to that time when you think of them? For example, when I think of The Evil Within 2, I think of playing the game during hot summer evenings in 2019 and going to get ice cream with my fiancé in between play sessions. Keep up the great work!

EngelNUL

Hi Minnstaff, Can we talk about game price in relation to worth now? Back in the GI days, this question was sort of kicked around a few times but I feel it was never really fully explored. The recent release of XCOM: Chimera Squad has brought this back up to me. Many reviews of the game pivoted on ideas that the new release was not fully featured or fully polished or fully realized, and the scores were somewhat reflective of this. That is fine, but rarely did I see anyone mention the game was as low as $10 at launch. That is a major difference from the $60 of a full release. Also, I remember in the early days of No Man's Sky, before SONY threw their money in, that the game was being pushed as a budget cost for consumers. Would a $30 price had changed the tone of that game's launch? Feel free to edit this down to a manageable level. Thanks

Hey Ben Solo and the crew of the MinnMaxian Falcon, Over the course of your gaming life, what have you learned from them that you can apply to the real world? It doesn't have to be something big, but please do tell! I've learned a few things over the past 25+ years. The things that come to mind for me are small, but I had gained a somewhat clearer understanding of the stock exchange thanks to Animal Crossing. I've become more familiar with Roman numerals because of the Final Fantasy series. Dragon Quest XI S taught me that I could probably get addicted to gambling so I'm glad I haven't tried it in real life! I've become more confident about spelling "odyssey" without second guessing myself because of Super Mario. Speaking of Mario, in high school, my gym class was taken by a bus to the local tennis court in a nearby park. We didn't play any serious games, it was just very casually hitting the ball back and forth with classmates. At the end of the semester, we were given a written exam about some of the sports we "played" and studying the Mario Tennis 64 instruction manual taught me everything I needed to know to pass. Please share the little dumb things or maybe some big life lessons! Thank you! Please be safe! - Jake in Decatur, IL.

A hoy hoy folks, What is the best stale food? My money is on graham crackers, they still taste good just get kinda soft.

Jason Kelley

When I play JRPGs I always keep my stock of healing items at increments of five. When I’m in a town or at a vendor and I’ve got 22 hi potions I am compelled to buy at least 3 more. Do any of you have any weird gaming compulsions like that?

grimmfeather

What's on Kyle's wishlist for the sequel to Breath of the Wild?

Hello MinnMax crew, First, as always, thank you for all the content as well as for rallying such an awesome community. I've met some very wonderful people in the MinnMax community, and it's all because you guys decided to step out on a limb and start something. So thanks! Second, I've got a (potentially) sensitive question for you. Quite often in games, sexuality is not handled well. At best, it could be an awkward cut scene or a crude joke that doesn't land well. And at worst it can be downright harmful through objectification or recklessly and insensitively approaching traumatic experiences. And even if it's handled well, it's still oftentimes something you "wouldn't want your parents walking in on while you play." So here's my question: Is there a time and a way for video games to really embrace mature sexuality well? Also, what games do you think have done a good job addressing and displaying sexuality? I know. Weird question. But it's something that I don't feel like is talked about much in the industry and I think you all could contribute some meaningful conversation to it. Again, thanks for all you do! ~Brady E.

Hey Ben and the Junk Dealers, What is the first game that you can remember playing that had save points? Also what do you think is the first game to ever have save points? Where did this concept start? Save states do not count it has to include an object that you save at. Thanks guys

TimeBombTom

Hey there MinnMac and Me’s, If you had to pick a video game that describes your childhood what game would it be and why?

betoq92 .

Minnmaxers hello I got my girlfriend into videogames within the last 3 years with games like mariokart, pokemon and animal crossing. I recently found out she plays nearly every game with the sound turned off so that she doesn’t bother anyone else in her house. She said she doesn’t really feel like she’s missing out on anything. So outside of rhythm games what are some games where the sounds and music are instrumental to the enjoyment of them?

oddishy

Howdy y'all! If you are the Mario of your life, who is your Luigi? Your Wario? Your...........Toad?

Midnight Satire

Hey MinnMax Boyz, First time/long time With the excitement of finishing FFVII Remake, I have decided to replay my personal favorite in the series, FFX. This will be my 4th full play through, and I’m somehow finding so much comfort in knowing this game so intimately. This is odd for me, because I rarely replay games or partake in new game plus content. I’ve tried to replay the new God of War and the Last of Us, two of my favorite games of the last decade, and I never get passed 2 hours. This has me wondering, what are your go-to games to replay? Does it correlate with your all-time favorites or is there an x-factor with replayability?

James Smith

Hey Ben Hanson and the Dinosaurs, You all know about the leaks regarding this year's Call of Duty title being given to Treyarch. Do you think they would ever skip a year if the game just wasn't ready on time?

Sean Mason

Hey MinnMaxers! I'm a 7th grade ELA teacher, and during this time in quarantine, I've tried to develop a few creative ways to incorporate video games into my remote learning plan. For example, I replaced the novel we were going to read with a playthrough of Firewatch. I broke the game up into chapters, and we finished the game last week. After each chapter, I assigned them similar assignments to what they would get if we were reading a novel (comprehension questions, an open-ended journal prompt, and a creative activity. Upon completion, many students were fascinated that a game could tell a compelling story. Several students (non-gamers) told me they would love to get into games if there were other games like Firewatch. That brings me to my question... when we inevitably return to a somewhat traditional school environment, should I incorporate video games into my curriculum? If so, what games similar to Firewatch do you think would be suitable for middle school-aged students (12-14)? I would love to use Gone Home, but I think it is a bit over their head. Sorry for the novel. Best Sean Mason

Hallo. One thing I loved about the pokemon games from earlier generations is that the cartridges mirrored the games theme. Red and blue cartridges where red and blue, gold and silver was gold and silver and sapphire and ruby was sapphire and ruby coloured. But at Diamond and Pearl they stopped with that. I think that is a shame. Though I do understand that it would be hard to incorperate the same idea for like X and Y, I would have loved to hear you guys ideas on how they should have done it with the rest? We have Diamond/Pearl, Black/White, X/Y, Sun/Moon and Sword/Shield. Hate your show

Elliot Tawns

Hello the Minn-Max conglomerate. Throughout the years, Games linked to a media (books, Film, etc) haven't really been explored as much as they have in the past. Maybe due to the fact that a lot of games from movies never seemed to work as they were always rushed to a specific deadline. Exceptions of course include the recent spider man game and the Batman's Arkham series. The Question is, If you could Create a game based on any other form of media/ IP what would it be? What type of game would it be and why? As an example I feel as though the short film "sonnies Edge" from love death and Robots would make a great stealth/monster creating battling game. ( will make sense once watched). The company id want to head this up would be Arkane. Thanks for being the best part of my Friday. . Elliot from Perth Australia

I actually rolled credits on Cup Head in March. I'm submitting this just to try and get that Sweet Sweet iam8bit vinyl. So I'm pandering. If Jeff Probst is the greatest host of the greatest show on national television, Survivor. I need to ask this. Is Microsoft missing an opportunity to integrate Xbox Games into Skype or MS Teams, and maybe use some Mixer features to make playing co-op games remotely easier in times like this. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to finish FF VII Remake so I can take the deepest dive with you all. From Sunny Minnesota, Josh LaBaw

IanTClark

I dare you to find a better game than Breath of the Wild. I double dare you!

Swiggity Swoo

Hey last week I wrote in to ask if my joke was funny and Where the hell do you get off saying my joke is 4/10 I should- LOL JUST KIDDING. love you guys, that was funny. This week I wanted to ask ya'll gamer boys something personal.. Why does everybody hate tailing missions in games?? If you enjoy stealth gameplay at all isn't it just an extension of being sneaky? Why does it get under so many people's skin?? I for one, loved the city level in MGS4. it was a likely part of the job of an assassin in the brotherhood to tail targets as well; so it typically fits in a lore context. I just don't get it?? Anyways. Keep up the good work and remember, if the world does end, at least there won't be an Indiana Jones 5. Love always, Dan White, Everybody.

Swiggity Swoo

PS: if they suck so bad, how could you make them more interesting?

Glass

Hey fellas, I am in Chapter 14 of FF VII remake and I am loving the soundtrack. So much so that I will attempt to get a hold of the 7 disc OST when available. This soundtrack is rich with emotion, creativity and pure class. However I have yet to hear a gaming soundtrack that moves me as much as Nier Automata. I still listen to that album religiously. Can you fellas trow it around the horn and name at least 2 gaming soundtracks that would classify as your favorites?

James Pinto

Hello Ben and the Get a Load of These Guys. Im currently watching Gallery on Disney plus which covers the mandalorian and am absolutely loving the behind the scenes conversations although I'm not a big fan of docuseries in general. I was wondering if there are any exceptions to your normal tastes in any form of media similar to this. Thanks!

Divorced Cougar (Mike M)

Hey guys (and maybe girls?). First I want to just say thank you for the content during the current "unprecedented times." You've all been a fantastic distraction. I just wanted to ask, how are you guys doing during quarantine? Are you doing relatively well? Has it changed your life a lot? I hope you all are doing well and thank you for being so computer loving,

Yarrow

Hey friends! I've been playing through all the Yakuza games recently, and am really excited for Like a Dragon, the change from a beat em up to more traditional turn-based JRPG combat is one I'm really looking forward too! With games like this making big changes in regards to its fighting system, what other franchises would you guys like to see get this treatment and overhaul their gameplay for the next entry?

Zane Dukes

Hey there CLCs, I've been playing MGS V during quarantine, and boy is that game awesome. I mention this game because last week (I think) there was talk about ludonarrative dissonance being a problem in gaming. MGS V is one of few games where the themes line up with the gameplay. They also really nailed open world design so much that it feels like a good half step towards BotW. Did y'all like MGSV? What is it's legacy? Also, if Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was hot dropped during quarantine people would absolutely love it. Now it's just fine. And Raiders is perfect and the best movie ever made byyyyeeeeee Love Zane from Knoxville

Chris Lytikainen

Hey y'all, I have one simple question. What mecha franchise would you want to see in the style of Titanfall 2 (as in gameplay style, in/out of cockpit gameplay, etc.)? Love Clarence B. Spoonicus

Shuffleguy

Hello crew, During quarantine I'm playing the Ff7remake. I am currently on chapter 11 and in love with Aerith. But I gotta wonder, why did nobody mention that the soundtrack for Wall Market sounds oddly similar to 'a whole new world' by Aladdin. Stay safe and stay gaming!

Felix davin

Hey friendos. What's your opinion on computer case LEDs ? Yay or ... neigh ? That's it.

Andrew Holmes

Hello Ben Hanson and the CLCs, I want to prefice that I love my switch and use it constantly however with the news that nintendo will be missing the e3 window this year I cant help butfeel like this is the third year in a row that weve had a "slow year" of the switch. do you think that the full library of the switch represents a 3 year console lifespan and do you think it will hold up in several years?

Hans Kleinenberg

Probably someone else asked before me, but can you tell us a bit about the upcoming Hanson & Cork show, now that the goal has been met? Thanks!

FlaminQueso

Hanson and the 'horts, Did y'all game on PC during the decade of 2000 to 2010? If so, where were your favorite memories from this decade? This was the only period I had a good gaming PC and times were great! Steam first coming out, Counterstrike 1.6, Half Life, HL 2, Warcraft 3 custom games, L4D. One of my favorite things during this decade was internet/cyber gaming cafe's. Pay per hour and play PC game on a LAN party with your buddies? Great times. Thanks, Queso

GreenMountainState

Hey MinnMax, Will Xbox and PlayStation overhaul their dashboards with the launch of the new consoles? Which dashboard and interface do you prefer and what would you most like to see changed?

Kristian

Hey, guys. So over time I’ve come to terms that there’s way too many types of pasta out there. I personally feel like we could get rid of spaghetti, angel hair, and macaroni. Can we pick some pastas to get rid of so we can make this planet a better place? #teamrotini

Thom Blackburn

Hey Andy and the Mac and Me's, With ign rereviewing overwatch to change the score from a 9.6 to a 10 I was wondering if we would ever see a rereview with a score that goes down? Maybe if a company adds microtransactions after launch like Activision has done a couple times? Thanks, Thom

Mur4al

I wanted to ask about the uptick of online expos recently that take the place of E3. Are you preferring the individual expos so far or would you have wanted the ESA to still do a condensed digital E3? I feel we could see good things from events like the New Game+Expo, since it’s for 3rd parties that don’t get much coverage at bigger sites or E3 and could cultivate a cool ecosystem for people the check out new games.
