Whats the best unconventional conversation you've ever had? My friend Josef (with an F) and I had a conversation composed entirely of Obama gifs. It went on quite a while and we both knew exactly what the other was saying.

Hey Everyone, I was wondering what your favorite INSTANT DEATHS in a video game are? Deaths that you may not see coming. My example: Chainsaw Decapitation in Resident Evil 4.

Shawn Mills

Hi Clicker Loving Cohorts: With the new update for Last of Us 2 dropping soon I wanted to know if you think it will ever get a mutiplayer mode and what kind of multiplayer mode would work well for it if they do add one.

Is the appropriate place to leave game suggestions on question threads?

Mason Cowell

Hello Hansonites! Today I want to talk about your best and worst completion rates with various game series. For example, my best completion rate is probably Pokémon, with 12 for 12 completed games, whereas my worst is maybe fallout, with 0 out of 3 games I've played in the series being completed. What about you? What's your highest and lowest completion rate by series?

Hi Ben, Kyle, Ana, and Jeff, I remember as a kid seeing tons of video game commercials on T.V. However, in today's world video game commercials are becomming rarer and rarer. My question is this: What were some of your favorite video game commercials while growing up? Mine was a Resident Evil 2 pack with RE1 and 2 for Christmas and the narrator going nuts and saying: THE MOST INTENSE PLAYSTATION GAMES EVER. Here's a link to the video: https://youtu.be/UMUa4Zit48w?t=6 Thanks everybody!

Hey Spyro the Hanson and the CoKnorks, How many community questions do you think you've answered so far in your lives, and do you think we will ever run out of new ones?

Tey Peryie

Hello team! First off great job on the interview with the ex-Visceral guys, definitely my favourite one so far. My question is simple: what’s your go to signature dish when you’re cooking to impress?

Blake Kibby

Hey CLCs and also Ben Hanson, Has there ever been a game more hyped than Cyberpunk 2020, and is there any way it lives up to the hype?

mngoldy

Some we really haven't heard what new features the new consoles have what are some things you want on the Xbox and PS5? For the PS5 I would like a system that doesn't threaten to ease my hard drive every time the power goes out or the system isn't shut down properly. Xbox I would like a usable interface.

Sam Comiskey

Imagine you’re transported back to the Middle Ages (say 1400s). You possess all of your modern knowledge but none of your modern possessions. What skills/ information could you impart on these medieval people? Does the modern man know anything practical?

Eric Seal

In honor of all the school teachers braving the coronavirus conditions, who was your favorite teacher growing up? I had a high school drafting teacher who let us play games when our work was done. I once made him into a bot in Unreal Tournament and asked him what his favorite gun was (answer: the pulse rifle, because it "sounded the most like a Romulan disruptor").

Cody Hester

Hey folks, is there a more satisfying action than pulling a plant from the ground and having the roots come up with it? Thanks a bunch!

Jeorin

Greetings MinnMax crew. Have you ever accidentally used gaming terms during everyday conversation? I was playing World of Warcraft heavily in college. My roommate asked if I wanted to go see a movie, so I replied 'Sure! Just let me equip some pants!'. He couldn't stop laughing.

Hey Minns and Maxes, I've recently got into playing Bleeding Edge on Game Pass and I'm really enjoying it. The gameplay is tight and engaging while not as stressful as Overwatch or Valorant. Sadly, I can't stop thinking about how small this game's community is and how that will effect its longevity as a only online/multiplayer game. Bleeding Edge usually never has more than 10 or 15 viewers on Twitch. (Granted I never checked its number when Mixer was around) and its subreddit is only a couple thousand people. So my question is: Do you have any tips for individuals like me to help support the game other than playing? Should I just be screaming at the top of my lungs on twitter and discord about Bleeding Edge?? Pls help!!! Keep up the hard work! Love and Respect - Jacob

Kyle Gibson

Hello MinnMax crew! I was recently listening to the giant beast cast where they talked about how gamefly was unloading their UMD movie stock for the PSP on their website. As a semi embarrassed owner of many movies on UMD it got me thinking of which technological trends I picked the wrong horse on. Some high lights include being a minidisk player instead of an iPod, ab LG slide phone (which if you slid closed hard enough would knock out the battery) instead of the Motorola razor and lastly trying to convince my dad to buy HD-DVD instead of BluRay. My question for you is if you have any consumer technology missteps in your past?

BeatenDownBrian

Hey, Ben, and the CLCs. While Game Pass is an undeniably great deal, and fully deserving of every bit of praise it gets, is there any concern for where this model leads us in the future, especially if adapted by other big publishers? The goal of this type of service is to keep players in a long term subscription, and one the best ways of doing that is through live games. While Microsoft’s recent showing quelled my fears to a degree, I still can’t help but wonder if these services ultimately lower the incentive to create new single player focused games, when those may only encourage someone to jump in for a month. Do you think there is any cause for concern? Will it be down to third party studios to pick up the slack? Or is there simply room for both?

It's Hugo's Nook

Hello loving Cohorts! What is the panel stance on permadeath modes? A friend of mine recently started playing Hollow Knight, one of my favorite games, which prompted to finally try steel soul - the game’s permadeath mode. Many failed attempts later (including a 14h long run ending at the hands of a feeble enemy) I’ve finished the mode with greater appreciation for the game and deeper understanding of its fuzzy lore and several gameplay quirks - to the point I can now speedrun the whole thing in 4h. I’ve put it off for two years, afraid of tackling, but now it’s as addictive as a dead cells run. How do you guys feel about this type of modes and what do you you think makes it work or break?

Dan LaMarca

Helloooooo CLC’s and especially JeffM! Lately I’ve been enjoying an incredible run-based deckbuilding game called Nowhere Prophet. It hit 1.0 release in July and I’ve barely heard anything about it despite the great reviews. Comparing this to Monster Train from earlier this year coming out to huge numbers on Steam and video-game talking heads far and wide raving about it despite me thinking it was just a mediocre “one of those”. It got me thinking- What is an example of a game that you believe deserved its day in the sun but did not hit with a large audience, while seeing a worse game in the same niche get a ton of attention? For me I think Nowhere Prophet and Griftlands are wayyyy more engaging and interesting than Slay The Spire and Monster Train. Thanks for all the great content and stay well!

Christian Jimenez

Hi MnMs, How do you all feel about collector's editions of games. I recently visited my local GameStop about my RE3 reservation but due to COVID that reservation ended going up in smoke. Bummed about not getting the Jill statue but after seeing the reviews and length of the game not sure if the extras ultimately justified the price. Since you get codes from developers, but also worked under GameStop how did you all handle when and if you splurged on a collector's edition of a game. Thanks.

Joe Dean

Hey Ben Hanson and the Fall Out Guys, This whole game of chicken between Sony and Microsoft about who will announce their price first has been going on for a long time, and with the delay of Halo Infinite do you think Sony is more likely to announce their price first? No hate on Microsoft, but one important factor in buying a console along with price is the system's library. With Microsoft's biggest IP no longer a factor during launch it seems like Sony is in an even stronger position and might be able to handle being slightly more expensive. What do you guys think? Also as someone who has been waiting for so long I am so disappointed that Suicide Squad was announced in a tweet, am I the only one? Either way I'm buying the game, but anything is better than a tweet, especially from a studio as prestigious as Rocksteady. Thanks, Joe Dean

CalebMurray

Hello Ben and MinnMax crew! With the end of this console cycle right around the corner and with the recent release of two games that really portray it well with Ghost of Tshushima and Fall Guys. Can we take a moment to celebrate something that really exploded this console generation. Devs and studios embracing the liberal use of vibrant and varied color. What are some games that the crew thought used color really well or to good effect?

LaRay M. Hare

Hello MinnMax (2 Enns). LaRay M. Hare aka BluMayhem in the Discord. This week I wanted to answer the call from the Panel asking for more scientific questions. In Physics there is a well known phenomenon known as the Doppler Effect. In the interest of time, the short version is that the frequencies of a moving object will change when an observer perceives them. This has lead to what is known as the great Red-shift mystery. In that all observable celestial bodies (stars, galaxies) are moving away from us (The Earth), giving them a reddish color, hence red shift. The conclusion being that the Universe is expanding. (As all objects are moving away from one another.) The long winded explanation leads to this question if the universe is expanding, what is it expanding into? (Or inside of.) Thanks, BluMayhem

Chris Lytikainen

Hey MinnMax. What clothing and/or armor option in games are you immediately drawn to? For me, I love big shoulder pauldrons and I will always opt for armor that has that over armor that doesn't.

Alex Payne

Hello Ben and the cohorts questions for you whats your thoughts on IGN doing a review in progress on Avengers. While I totally understand the thought behind it kinda just seems very disingenuous to call it a review in progress but have your first line state it is a demo. Also don't know if anyone else feels this way but GOS is a bit overrated.

Matthew Clark

Are battle Royale games just competitive roguelikes in a trench coat?

Super_DAC

Hello everybody. If you were put in charge of either the launch of the Xbox Series X or PS5, do you think you’d be able to make a successful launch? Which games would you have for launch? How much would it cost? When would it come out?

TommenDotGif

Hi ganng (two N's) Do you think it's possible Square Enix is more invested in Avengers sales on Playstation because they get profit per sale and they don't get paid for gamepass downloads? As I am someone who knows nothing about business, do you think that factored in to their decision to let Spider-man be exclusive? I'm wondering if this could lead to other publishers doing something similar in the future to incentivize sales outside of gamepass, and what that would mean for gamepass if there is a trend of it getting "worse" versions of games. Thank you for being you!

Doreen Ford

How about this for a game? Vader, Vader OR Vader! It's simple: Is the description in question descriptive of Leo Vader, Darth Vader or the WWF wrestler Big Van Vader! I got this idea from MinnMax Discord, especially Breaker and Jawarhello so credit to them! 1) This Vader weighs 198 pounds! 2) This Vader hails from the Rocky Mountains! 3) This Vader has defeated hundreds of enemies! (Darth Vader and WWF Vader) 4) Which of these Vaders has two kinds of police after them? (Leo Vader, the humor police and the gamer police) 5) Which Vader has been featured in video games ((All of the Vaders! Game Informer was featured in a video game so it counts)

Skyler Denning

Cohorts, Do you guys care about or go out of your way to get Xbox achievements, PS trophies, or Steam achievements?

Mike Vogt

Hello Minnmax! I have a game for you. Below I’ve listed five pairs of video games, and the howlongtobeat.com average Completionist time for one of them. Your task is to decide if the second game has a longer or shorter completion time than the first. Completionist is defined on that website as “You strive for every achievement, every medal and conquer all that the game has to offer.” I’ve tried to only include games with a decent number of submissions, so the one user who logged 989 hours to complete Earth Defense Force 4.1 will not be part of the game. Good luck! 1. Super Mario World (10 hours 10 minutes ) or Super Metroid 2. Nier Automata (62h 32m) or Super Mario Odyssey 3. Persona 5 (175h 35m) or Assassin’s Creed Odyssey 4. The Witcher 3 Game of the Year (193h 13m) or Skyrim Special Edition 5. Resident Evil 4 (30h 43m) or Resident Evil 2 Remake Answers below: Super Metroid 9h 8m - shorter Super Mario Odyssey 62h 49m - longer ACO 134h 45m - shorter Skyrim 223h 49m - longer RE2 33h 15m - longer

Hey Peeps! Throughout all your years in the gaming industry, what is the most awkward interaction you have had?

Zack

Hey Ana-nan-a-na-na, just wanted to say I really liked the Pokemon episode of Refreshed. I've been reading Serebii, Smogon, and Bulbapedia for more than half my life now so it was interesting to hear discussions about those types of sites

Hans Kleinenberg

Hey everyone! I know it's early, but have you given any thought to the end of the year/game of the year/two tens you're planning for the end of 2020? I've been keeping track of the games I've played and beaten for years now and I expect many others have done the same. Maybe there's something there in terms of community involvement? What about Extra Life or anything similar? Cheers

Sir Phobos

Salutations, Ben and the MinnMaximillians, With the the delay of Halo Infinite it would seem Xbox no longer has a huge title to push the launch of the Series X. Sony on the other hand has Spider-Man presumably as a launch title, but aside from that I can’t think of any other big titles for either console. I am still excited for the launch of this new generation and will be purchasing both if given the opportunity. My question is do you think Sony and Microsoft have anything else up their sleeves aside from price point and release date? Perhaps some jaw dropping game trailer followed by “Play at launch” with the price and launch date of the console? Thanks for reading. John from Illinois

Spencer Botine

Hey gang, simple question: what the f*** am I going to play on my next gen console this fall besides the blockbuster that I can already play on my current PS4 or Xbox? Help me rationalize spending $600.

Justin Hughes

Hello Ben and the ketchup farts, Tin foil hat time...was cyberpunk ever going to come out in April? It will definitely be a next gen console seller so I always thought it was weird it wouldnt be a launch title for both systems.

Thomas Hoster

Hey Minnmax, with that sweet Cyberpunk character path video what path do you want to take and how do you already envision your character looking? What kind of clothing our look are you hoping to be able to choose?

Sincerly, Eric

Last week you all mentioned your favorite Video Game Joke. I'd like to offer: "What is the most welcoming Item in a Video Game?" *slight Wave* "A Hi-Potion" What is your favorite so bad it's good jokes?

Tommy Carver-Chaplin

What gaming or pop cultural hills are the co-horts willing to die on? Mine would be that Arkham Origins has easily become, for me, the best game in the Arkham series. Love the Christmas theme, the cast of villains, the story structure, and the Batmanyness of it all. What about you guys?

Colin Perkins

Hello Fellow Reclaimers! (that's a Halo reference) In honor of your Deepest Dive on Halo: Combat Evolved, here's a quick game for the crew to play: Covenant Ship or Metallica song? Let's see who can get the most correct! I've marked the answers below with a C or M for Hanson to keep track. Cheers! Long Night of Solace (C) Seeker of Truth (C) My Friend of Misery (M) Shadow of Intent (C) Rebel of Babylon (M) Song of Retribution (C) Through the Never (M) Breath of Annihilation (C) The Struggle Within (M) Hammer of Faith (C) Truth and Reconciliation (C) The Unforgiven (M) Harvester of Sorrow (M) Colin Perkins St. Paul, MN

Howdy Cohorts, Is Steam going to have DualSense support soon after launch? Will the DualSense work on PC easily like Xbox controllers. With Sony publishing on PC, and PlayStation Now being on PC, isn't this in their best interest?

Rickfromatlanta

Hi minnmax. So your show got me hooked on bubly and other sparkling water. Can you rank the flavors top 3 best and worst to help me get the most out of my new addiction. Thanks for everything

Taylor Whitt

Hanson, How many hours of consumable content is procured by the MinnMax crew every week? I'm a $5 subscriber and I'm overwhelmed most of the time. I have such a large backlog of episodes to listen to in my podcast library, and it seems to grow faster than I can get through the episodes. By the time I'm ready to engage in the content with a community question or comment, I'm weeks behind and no longer relevant. Can we have a small segment on the MinnMax Show for the MinnLaxers (or MinnLaggers?)? Just allow some space for people to make a comment or ask a question about older content. I'd love that. Thanks! Taylor from Nashville, TN

Brenton and Meriam

Hey, all. If you had to give a BC slash AD type split to video game history, when do you think it would be? The shift of arcade popularity following the success of home console ports? The move from standard definition to high definition? The introduction of micro transactions? The split doesn't have to be even, but what has had enough significance to shift the industry? And just for fun, how would it be abbreviated?

Jordan Brown

Hey guys, Late entry but I'm very curious how you guys feel about Halo Infinite being delayed into 2021. How do you guys think this will affect Xbox sales this holiday? Could you see them delaying the Xbox launch to have it launch with at least one flagship title?

Bret Gordon

2 weeks ago Hanson said he could outrun a Gorilla. This week Ive designed a game: Is Hanson Faster? The MinnieMaxies can buzz in and say yes, no or maybe to the following and Hanson must honestly say if he can beat it in fair, flat land race. Keep in mind that the average human can run 10-15mph. Usain Bolt, the fastest human alive can run 28mph. (Example: Hedgehog.... YES, a hedgehog can only run up to 4mph) Giraffe... NO 35mph 10,000 Rats... YES 8mph Armadillo... NO 30mph Hippopotamus... MAYBE 19mph Wombat... NO 25mph Komodo Dragon... YES 12mph Tyrannosaurus Rex... MAYBE approx. 17mph Gorilla 20-25mph... NO 20-25mph

Hey CLC's! Quick anecdote regarding Cameo from last week- I recently decided I wanted to pay a celebrity to tell my friend that they know he's a piece of crap when I discovered you could get a Cameo from Sinbad for only 40 dollars to my absolute delight. I pony up my 40 bucks and make my request. The hiccup- Sinbad just randomly decides on his own that it must be this friend's birthday and makes it a birthday message (still telling him he's a piece of crap.) I ended up having to wait 5 months before sending it to my friend for his birthday. TLDR; Sinbad can't take direction for crap. Edit: Here's a link if you're curious https://youtu.be/loaNivc6ldg
