Hey MinnMax Crew, I was wondering what your opinion was on Cinematic Trailers for Video Games. Obviously everyone wants to see Gameplay and that's totally understandable, but if you REALLY pay attention to Cinematic Trailers, they give away hints, clues, and details on how the game plays. My overall question is, do CG trailers get a bad rap?

Tim Turi

If you had an opportunity to go back in time and start up MinnMax all over again, would you do anything differently? Would there be more or less s'mores with Big League Chew?

Mark Ramirez

Hey Ben & CLC’s, there’s been an ongoing debate, Super Mario 64 vs Banjo Kazooie. The only way to settle this is a Deepest Dive in 2021. It could even be a stretch goal for Patreon support! Give me an excuse to play Banjo on the Series X!

Brian Ventura

Hey MinnMax 😃 I just started Ghosts of Tsushima Legends this week, and I'm consistently surprised at how delightful it is! I can't say that there's anything specific about the gameplay that I find outstanding, but somehow it feels oddly refreshing as an overall multiplayer experience... more specifically, it's great PvE multiplayer! Tsushima Lengends has me anticipating upcoming PvE multiplayer games or gamemodes, like Gotham Knights or Overwatch 2, and reflecting on those I've dabbled with this current gen, like Destiny. As someone who has largely neglected the "genre", what PvE multiplayer games do you recommend? And do you think we'll be seeing more of these games for next gen?

Grizzled Gaming

Happy anniversary, gang! And Ben, tell Leo Grizzled Gaming says "Hello". He'll know what it means. This question is aimed at the PC gamers among you, but do you typically buy your games outright, or have you been taking advantage of services such as UPlay+ and EA Play Pro? I used EA Play Pro to play Jedi Fallen Order last year for $15. And it’s wild to think that I could do the same this year for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion! You don’t hear much about these two services, why do you think that is?

Scott Wilton

Hey Hanson and the Hansons, Just wondering you never number your episodes? I’m assuming this is episode 52 because it’s your anniversary? Just curious because you’re the only podcast I know who doesn’t do it. Thanks for all the great content!

Felix davin

Hey good people, In these times of thorough hand cleaning and fingertips shining, how often do you clean your gamepad or keyboard ? You filthy pigs. Cheers.

Travis M.

Hey all! Congrats on the first year! Many good memories of listening and interacting with people, and y'all are the main reason behind most of it, so thank you very much. I know Ben especially listens to a lot of podcasts, and perhaps everyone else does, too, but how "behind" have you ever gotten with a particular show? Do you try and listen to everything you miss, or do you cut your losses and just jump to the most recent stuffv

Chree McGee

Hey CLCs! Having just 120-starred Mario Galaxy for the first time, I'm stunned with how consistently inventive, bold, and most importantly fun the game is. Honestly, even if nostalgia isn't a factor I would perhaps name it as my pick for best game of all time. What's amazing is the huge flex Nintendo pulled by developing a sequel that according to many is even better than the first, in only three short years! They basically said that they had so many industry-changing ideas they couldn't fit it onto one full-length game, they needed two to get em all out. This all leads me to my question: In your opinion, what is the biggest flex by game developers of all time?

IanTClark

What a year it has been! Ben and Leo quit their jobs and moved. Kyle started and ended a daily podcast and then started a new job in a new field. JeffM had a freaking baby! Could the cohorts had more challenging and stressful life events in past 12 months?

Ben O'Donnell

Hello everyone and congrats to Jeffm! Would you rather be able to reach into your closet to pick out and wear anything your mind can think of or be able to walk into your bathroom to grow, cut and style your hair in anyway you want, instantly?

MickManga

Happy anniversary MinnMax, I can't believe it has already been a year already. Here's hoping to many years of awesome MinnMax content. A personal highlight for me was the Chrono Trigger Deepest Dive, the weekly podcast and The Oregon Trail documentary. So to celebrate how about a wacky question. Given enough time, what animal would be the first to beat Super Mario Bros 1-1 level. A monkey, gorilla, goldfish or something else?

Doreen Ford

Congrats on 1 year! I can unequivocally say that both this podcast and community have made my life better and in 2020 I can definitely say joining the Discord was one of the best decisions I made for myself and my mental health. But enough praise, here's my question: What's the biggest takeaway y'all have gotten from doing MinnMax for a year?

Mason Cowell

Hello M&Ns! What was the most delightfully unexpected multi-player mode you've experienced? I'm absolutely adoring Legends for Ghost of Tsushima right now, and I really didn't expect to enjoy it this much, even though I loved the single player portion of the game. What about you all?

Mark Simon

A great one year anniversary in an otherwise less than stellar year, congratulations! Question for all cohorts: Am I the only one seeing the anti-consumer flavoured hypocrisy in Sony locking player ‘help’ functionality on the PS5 behind the PS Plus paywall? I’m particularly worried that it also won’t trickle down to sub-accounts - like my kids have - who will likely find it most useful.

Brady Easter

Happy anniversary, cohorts!! Quick and simple question: Not counting reviews, what game that you saw credits on did you enjoy the least and why did you stick with it? Thanks for all your content! Brady Easter Edmond, OK

Edgar Vazquez

Hey you river drowners! As I play Hades, I keep noticing that I have a tendency to chew on my tounge when I'm trying to focus. Do you have some odd quirk you've caught yourselve doing during quick stints of intense focus?

James Smith

Hey Big Ben and the Houses of Parliaminn, What's one underrated game from this generation in your opinion?

Taylor Owens

Congrats on the anniversary. I’ll mark the occasion by resubmitting my very first question: You said MinnMax is about more than just video games, so prove it! What’s a good book you’ve read this year? My favorite was the Autobiography of Malcom X.

Forest Gerlach

Happy anniversary, MinnMax! It's been so wonderful to watch this space expand and be such a ray of genuine positivity. Y'all are the best ❤ Simple question this week inspired a bit by JeffM (in a good way, promise!) - what is your favorite game with a clear end point that you've never finished?

Infinite

Happy Maxiversary gang! It’s been a hell of a fun year, and I’m absolutely stoked for the future. I’m very curious to know, of everything you’ve accomplished in your first year, was there anything you all tried to do or pitched to each other that you were deeply interested in doing that just never got off the ground? Cheers for the past and cheers for the future!

Mack Dack

What’s been the biggest surprise to starting your own show/Patreon? Did any aspect of the process, the work or the community just SUPRISE you? It can be good or bad.

Faraaz

Hi Ben and the Cohorts Do you have any predictions; of who will be the first good mass market game streaming service? Also who is taller, Jeffm or Jeffm’s child? (Ben Please perform the next line in your best what about bob impersonation) Get out of carrrlalgh!!! Kind Regards Faraaz Sydney

PhillyYeetSteak

Woo congrats on the year crew! My question is unrelated to your anniversary, but is no less timely. Next week, Little Hope releases, which is the second entry in the Dark Pictures Anthology. I adored Until Dawn but was lukewarm on Man of Medan, so i am cautiously optimistic about Little Hope. What worries me is on the playstation store, there is a bundle of Man of Medan and Little Hope, and it is referred to as "Volume 1" of the anthology. I'm worried this is being treated as a possible stopping point for the franchise if it doesnt do well. What do you all think is going on here? Take care and an extra congrats to jeff marchiafather!

Nick from Atlanta

Happy Anniversary, Cohorts! This past year has been a crazy one for sure. There's no way we could have predicted the hell scape that is 2020. I know MinnMax has had plenty of surprises, both good and bad, as it continues to grow. What I want to know is, has anything gone perfectly according to plan? Something you envisioned that has really gone exactly like you imagined? How does that compared to the surprises affect future planning? Thanks, Nick from Atlanta

Matthew Wogksch

Hello CLC’s Every video game that has a home to buy or a home base to build up exposes weird quirk I have. For some reason, I cannot stop playing a game until my character is in their home or in their home base. I get great satisfaction having the character come home after a long adventure. I feel off if I have to stop playing before I am able to bring them home. So, what video game quirks do you have? Thanks Matthew Wogksch

Kenneth Osterloh

Happy Anniversary MinnMax!! Long time listener, first time.. you get it. So I found a game of which I don’t think is very well known. “Coma 2: Vicious Sisters” for my Switch it’s a fun survival horror game from South Korea!! I didn’t do the research, but I feel like S Korea mostly concentrates on PC games. Anyways I’m really enjoying it, and got me thinking. Do you have a region of the world that you tend to enjoy their games most? Me for example, I might pick Poland if only for CD Projekt Red. I’ve probably spent over 300 cumulative hours in Witcher 3 this generation and Cyberpunk looks to be another time sink. So what do you think MinnMaxians? Do you think you tend to lean towards a certain region? Keep it Sleazy, Ken from Japan. Edit: Can we not count Japan. I just realized Nintendo alone would probably make most people say Japan lol. Thanks.

Fred Dinovo

Howdy all, Congratulations on the year, looking forward to the many to come! Welp you've all been working together as MinnMax for a year now, so what would you say is everyone else's catchphrase? Don't answer for yourself, let the panel decide Two N's! Fred

The Diddler

Happy anniversary! I think it’s only appropriate to ask; What are some of your favorite events in gaming and why? (Events like, overwatch anniversary events, halloweeen events, etc etc)

Sean Mason

Hey Ben and the CLCs Congratulations on the big one-year anniversary. I want to thank you guys for providing me with an endless amount of smiles and entertainment. You guys have helped me through some tough times over the last year, and I just want you guys to know, we all appreciate it! Now to my question, What is your favorite non-domesticated animal? Best- Sean Mason

Christopher Reed

Congratulations on your first year! The traditional first anniversary gift is something paper, while the modern gift is a clock. Both are stupid; what the hell do YOU all want to commemorate your first annual WIN!?

Mitch

What do you plan on doing with your current gen consoles when you get the PS5 / Series X. Are you going to sell or hold onto them? If so why?

The Krispy Kreme Lemur

Hi Ben and the MinnMax Crew, Recently, my Dad (who I solemnly believe has never touched a video game in his life), asked me "So what is Mario all about anyways...its a racing game?", as I told him that I was replaying Mario 64 for the MinnMax game club. At first, I thought describing Mario as a "racing" game was absurd, bringing to mind games like "Dirt 4" and the like, but I realized that its actually a pretty good way to describe the game, and I struggled to describe Mario to him without using gamer-y ass gamer terms like "side-scroller" and "platformer". It made me chuckle to realize how insular and confusing video game culture must appear to outsiders, and I was pleased to have received a fresh perspective on something I hold so dear. This had me wondering if any of you have had a similar experience. What surprisingly apt or amusing perspectives on prestigious pieces of gaming culture have you heard from non-gamers?

Sincerly, Eric

I'm reading my Daughter Alladin now. (For the fourth time today but that is irrelevant.) What is you all favorite Disney Princess movie or character? Thanks! Congrats JeffM.

Benjamin

Hey all, is anyone reading Jon Bois' new future football masterpiece 20020? I'm dying to hear people talk about it! Congratulations on the anniversary. Let's hope MinnMax can last as long as football.

Shawn Mills

If you had to choose a horror movie to make into the next great AAA video game what movie would you choose and why?

Spencer

Have you ever tried playing games while using controllers in an unusual way? I have mostly done this with FPS multiplayers. The most unusual was playing my friends in local MP but only using our feet on the controller. It was a challenge that led to a very different experience. My favorite unusual way to play is to share one controller between two people, each person uses one half of the controller. I think we stumbled onto this when we had four players but the game only supported two. Playing like this, eventually very little verbal communication is needed between the two people and it is possible to be competitive against people playing normally. Or maybe the people still playing Modern Warfare 2 at the time were pretty bad.

Joe Dean

Hey Ben and the CLCs, Last week you talked a little bit about the best end credits song in games and I just wanted to remind you or inform you about God Hand's end music. In my opinion it is impossible to be better. https://youtu.be/SFSen7DRQWU If you want to check it out. Thanks, Joe Dean

Orryn Echols

Hey Benny and the Jets, I know you guys don’t like to get political on the show. But...Can you at least acknowledge (not debate or share personal political views) on the topic of Alexandria Cortez being the first New York Representative to use twitch? She cracked half a million her debut stream. Congrats on your 1st year anniversary!

Orryn Echols

I bet JeffM’s kid is going to beat Red Dead 2 before JeffM.

Jason Wojnar

Hi Ben and Crew, And Jeff's Baby too, Not video game related, but what do you do in either of these situations? You're buying fruit in a grocery store and when you take a banana several other bananas fall to the ground. Do you pick them up or put them back, or do you leave them? Additionally, you spit gum into a trash can on the street, but the gum bounces of the edge and lands on the sidewalk, do you pick it up or leave it?

Jonathan Fenn

Hey CLCs, one of the best things about seeing MinnMax develop over the last year is how it's expanded - Ana and Leo have both been such great additions to the crew, and the diverse crew of guests have been stellar. With that in mind, how big do you want MinnMax to become? Do you think you'll add more cohorts indefinitely as long as they're a good fit and bring something unique, or do you want to keep the crew smaller and more focussed? Congratulations on a great first year - the celebration of FF7 was the perfect remedy for the rough early months of quarantine. Cheers, Jonathan

Noah Berman

Congrats to the MinnMax family but super congrats to the Marchiafava family! I’ve had a decent amount of time for self reflection these past few months and came to a realization: the most important factor for me in deciding whether I like a game are the responsiveness of its controls. Give me tight movement with no delay and I’ll probably enjoy your game. In the real world this means I essentially prefer satisfying-to-control but otherwise mediocre games like Trials of Mana or Dead Space 3 over critically acclaimed games with floaty controls like GTA 4/5 or the Witcher 3. Do you have a preference or quirk that holds an outsized influence over your games selection?

Tim Lorow

I picked up Killer Queen Black on Switch for only $2 and I have been having a blast. Tell me if this already already exists, but why isn’t there an arcade gauntlet game that takes great multiplayer arcade games and matches you up against people online? There has to be so much untapped potential out there with classic and modern arcade titles

Kyle Silva

So we all know Immortals: Fenyx Rising's original name was Gods and Monsters. But did you know the upcoming Netflix Greek Mythology Animation "Blood of Zeus" originally had the name "Gods and Heroes" until quite recently? Weird.

LaRay M. Hare

Hello MinnMax (2 Enns)! Congratulations on 1 year!!! What a wild ride! I have a simple question, What is the best game released since the start of MinnMax? -LaRay M. Hare aka BluMayhem on Discord

Mason Parker

Hey yall! I loved the first meeting podcast, I wish there were more! It seems like there are so many awesome ideas that died somewhere that I hope become a real thing some day! I would love to see that rapid fire interview with each cohort that sounds like a really awesome way to get to know them better! My question is this, what kind of Donut is your favorite?

Donnie

Hey friends! I just watched the first episode on a series that’s documenting the development of Skyblivion, the volunteer mod project to completely recreate Oblivion in the current Creation engine. That’s my current all time favorite game and they seem to be doing so well that I’m considering getting a pc whenever it’s finished so I can play it! Are there any fan projects for games you love like that? Or a game you’d like to see get that treatment from the community?

DJ Tommy Pizza

Holy crap, happy anniversary MinnMax! What’s everyone’s favorite piece of MinnMax content, either show or video? I’m a big fan of seeing the best of gaming photo mode in the PhotoMode Snap series and can’t wait to see what’s next!

Jake Z

In the PS5 UI video Sony showed an in-game hint and guide system only available to PS Plus users for select games. Do you think Sony will be paying some developers money from PS Plus subscriptions to implement these guide features into their games?
