Would the cohorts want to see another co-op Resident Evil game? If so, in what style?

Taylor C

Leo’s (excellent) Hitman 3 video where he he sets a world record for subduing every NPC with a banana got me thinking... What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever spent an extended period of time doing in a video game? Something that wouldn’t be considered a core aspect of the game but you spent too much time on. Or a nonsensical gaming world record you believe you hold.

Steven Lambson

What is your phone/desktop wallpaper of?

Michael Archer

Last week Ana talked about Katy Perry being the most gaming-friendly pop musician of all pop musicians working right now, but who in your opinion has the most successful musical tie in? Is it Katy Perry and her Pokemon inspired music? Charli XCX and her Super Mario Bros. tie-in? Or even Megadeth and their track for Gears of War? Only you can tell us the truth! Side-note: Rina Sawayama, an up and coming pop musician samples the victory theme from Final Fantasy VII in her song 'Snakeskin'.

Hi Ben and cohorts! I just grind my but off unlocking the living ship in no mans sky, after days of doing the same task over and over again, I finally unlocked it. Was it worth it? No, not really. Other than looking cool and having unique weapons, it’s pretty impractical and I kind of regret taking all that time to do the quest. Have any of you grind for a particular item that ended up being a disappointment? Keep on keeping on! - Noah D.

Sincerly, Eric

Hello lovely CLCs. My friends and I play this Social Card Game. (When you could safely do that) called Utter Nonsense. It is like Cards Against Humanity but you have to use different accents. It made me think. Could you put the Cohorts on the spot for some voice acting work? What's everyones best impression/accent that they have or have worked on over the years?

Chris H

Hey cohorts! New jobs are in the news right? What are some of the favorite in-game careers you've encountered? Lots of mercs and assassins, but anything stand out as unique?

saibher (cyber)

Hey MinnSnaxers! New Subscriber Saibher here! What was the best/most memorable meal you have had? A birthday dinner? Lunch break at an old job? This morning's breakfast?!

Nick from Atlanta

Hey Cohorts! Pretend you're ordering some food to pick up. You walk in, pay for your food, and receive it. What, if any, is the minimum $ total for your order where you'd start to be embarrassed about not tipping? For reference after you discuss this, I recently brought out an order that was over $400 with no tip. Thanks, Nick from Atlanta

Heyyyooo Minnmax! What are some of your favorite "bad" endings? Games often have multiple endings, and not all of them are sunshine and rainbows. Some are even spiteful toward the player for having screwed up so bad. I'll leave spoilers at the bottom and just list a couple games that fit the bill for me: Man of Medan and the Witcher 3. SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW ------------------------------------------ The witcher 3 has an amazing bad ending. After being an overbearing father to Ciri the whole game, Geralt finds out that she didn't make it because she never was able to gain confidence from her own successes. Geralt doubles down on his gruffness, broods, and chugs beer. Then he goes to the Crones of crookback bog and slays them with reckless abandon. Who cares about messing with destiny of you've already lost the only one you care about? Man of Medan had an ending that I just found hilarious. I kept all of my allies alive the whole game, but, when calling for help on the radio, I mentioned the name of the ghost ship. This caused my rescue helicopter to show up, but it was full of soldiers that mowed down my whole team to protect the secrets on the boat. Anyways, you are all great and I hope you have a nice day, Thom

Hey Cohorts! I’ve been a fan of your content for ages, but I just became a patron last week. Sorry it took so long! Do any of you have quirks or traits that make it difficult to play certain games or genres? I’ve decided to give Hitman 3 a try this week, but I’ve struggled to finish games in the series previously because I tend to be a perfectionist/completionist, and the second I get caught I feel like I have to reload a save which kills my momentum and can get frustrating. I have the same problem with most stealth games (looking at you, Dishonored 2), and I feel like I’m missing out because of it. Thanks for all you guys do! -Chris

bizkiut (Nick S.)

What is your favorite fast food place and item? Mine is Taco Bell and the Beefy Crunch Burrito (RIP).

Jordan Blayney

Hey Cohorts, My wife and I have been watching old Top Chef episodes and one of our favorite challenges is when they cook another Chef's "last meal". The point of the challenge is to have another chef say what they would eat if they knew it was the last meal they would ever eat. Many of the chefs decide to cook a meal that was nostalgic for them growing up. What would be your "last meal" if you had the chance to decide?

Hello Friends, I found my self a little bummed out when I saw the news of all of the Disney games (Indiana Jones and Star Wars) being in development. I mean I like star wars and Indiana Jones but I felt sad that a lot of the talented developers at the likes of Respawn and Ubisoft won't get the chance to work on a new IP or continue an existing one (i.e. Titanfall). Are you guys worried about this further limiting new IP from the bigger developers/publishers?

Chris Lopez

Hello Ben and the Cohorts! What are some specific games or overall game series that you probably never would have played if you were not in the games industry? Have there been any big surprises that you might not have given a chance otherwise? Thanks!

Jonathan Wright

Superlatives and specific categories are one of my favorite parts of the GOTY season. With that in mind, what are the Unofficial Top 3 Food Brand Tie-in Games?

Zeth Hillman-Johnson

Howdy hey, Computer People, Do you guys have a local game store you like? Any stories about the friendly local game shop you wanna share? Board game shops would also be acceptable.

Doreen Ford

Hey cohorts! In honor of the Resident Evil event, what's your favorite RE moment from the series?

Ben Shively

After Capcom releases Resident Evil Village, they will most likely put the RE4 Remake into full development. Would you rather see it go the route they took remade 2 and 3 with traditional third person, or take the remake of 4 in a new direction. This could be more towards the first person path they took with 7 and 8, focusing on making 4 scary instead of action focused. Since RE4 still holds up so well, it would be fascinating to see a remake go in an entirely different direction.

Hootz

Hey dudes! Sony has some great exclusive IP, and I can not argue with that. I just started playing God of War almost 3 years late, and it is a masterpiece - this decade's Ocarina of Time. In addition, Playstation 4 has clearly outsold the Xbox One in the previous console generation, so Sony apparently is doing fairly well. But call me a monster, because after 4 console generations, Sony still has a controller that feels like hot garbage. Maybe they fixed this with the PS5 - I still have never even seen one in the wild - but judging by the shape of its new boomerang controller, I’m doubtful that it was designed for my hands, or anyone else’s. Please defend your favorite variation of the dualshock controller. Or, if you'd rather not (or just can't), what is your least favorite controller of all time?

Dizcrowell

Yo clcs! What are the games you've gone into with the wrong headspace? Have you gave the game a second chance and enjoyed it in the end?

James Martin

Hey cohorts - my wife and I welcomed our first child, baby girl Ellery last week (shout out to her for being a solid sleeper so far!). So my question is for new father JeffM - what are some of your strategies for keeping up with gaming during the endless cycle of feed/poop/nap (time is a flat circle) and have you done any juggling of baby and controller at the same time??

umryan

Hey Ben, just curious, can you ask Ana and Suriel if they like 100 gecs?

Caleb Straker

Hey Hanson and Co.! Rumors about the "Switch Pro" have been around since the dawn of time, but I've recently been thinking about its price and how it would fit into Nintendo's lineup. I see Nintendo swapping the Original Switch with the Switch Pro as the most likely scenario. Nintendo COULD add the Pro to the lineup and charge $399 for it, but I can't imagine a $400 Nintendo console being an easy sell to most consumers, even IF it's 4K. What do you guys think? Where and how does Nintendo add a Switch Pro to its portfolio?

Cade Mead

With KFC doubling down on video games, what non-games company would you like to see make the push next? Either just for laughs or for real.

Erin T.

Hi Ben, Ana, Jeff and Suriel! In the wake of Cyberpunk 2077’s release, I wonder how this might affect future celebrity roles or artist collaborations in games. Among the many cameos, I’m really struck by how the band ‘The Refused’ must be affected by the non-stop negative coverage. Dedicating their time, talent and image to create an EP’s worth of music for the game, only to have that be completely forgotten and overshadowed by it’s launch issues is rough. Even though they surely made some money - I can’t help but think other actors or artists are looking on and saying “MM, NO THANKS!” Do y’all think the fallout from the negative coverage of such a high-profile game will be a blow to future crossover roles, cameos or collaborations in the video game industry?

Bradley-J

How did perfect dark zero get a 9 from Gamespot and an 8.4 from IGN? It has an 81 on metacritic with over 74 reviews....I remember that game being doodoo. What other games do you remember being bad, but actually we’re well received by critics?

Adam_CW

Hey Everyone, How do you feel after recording a podcast? Is it cathartic? What do you do right after?

Gabe Brandolino

I just finished up Final Fantasy VII Remake and loved it! It was my first Final Fantasy and I adored the experience; I followed along with the Deepest Dive/Celebration of Final Fantasy 7 as I played through- that was a joy, and now I'm working my way through the massive soundtrack and having a great time with that too. I guess I don't know what the point of this comment is, but I've really enjoyed past "Celebrations of" and I hope more are planned for the future!

Tim Lorow

Have you ever played solo tabletop board games? I was usually against it since video games are a thing, but lately I’ve started playing Arkham Horror the Card Game solo, and I might be coming around? It feels like doing a jigsaw puzzle but with a lot more imagination and logic reasoning.

YARF

All those decades ago... when Police Officer Chris Redfield looked up into the heavens with an outstretched hand and yelled “NOOOOOOO!!!! DON’T GOOOOOO!!!!” as Chicken Heart Vickers vamoosed away... if Chris suddenly got a divine flash forward of everything to await him, the nightmarish Mansion, Rockfort Island outbreak, the battle in Antarctica, the rock punching madness in Africa, the devastation in Europe and China, turning to alcoholism, the swampy bayou of Louisiana and the moist abominations writhing within... if Chris saw everything that lay before him, I wonder if he would have just sat down in the field, to his team’s confusion, and just awaited the merciful embrace of the t-virus infected mountain hounds.. Get that man a gun.

Hello Ben and crew, Imagine COVID-19 isn’t a thing..... niiiice, that’s my whole comment. Good night!! Just kidding, imagine it’s not a thing. Where would you travel to right now and why? Free of charge. Also what are some of your favorite video game locations?

Eric Holm

Greetings MinnMax crew! This is a question I've been thinking about quite a bit lately: What do you think are some of the most important indie games to ever come out? Not the best or your favorite, but hypothetically if you were to take a class called "The History of Video Games", what indie games would deserve to be mentioned? I'll submit one for consideration: Braid was from my memory the first success story that showed that you don't have to work at a game development studio to release a game for everyone around the world to play. Have a great show!

RickyWinterborn

what tiny thing in a video game irks you? i hate how in cyber punk some menu crafting actions have no sound effect. something about holding the button, the bar filling, then silence feels incredibly wrong.

Cameron

Hey CHCs, when’s the last time you started a game not expecting a huge reaction out of it, but then ended up completely enraptured and had a hard time putting it down? For me it’s been Fire Emblem Three Houses. I know it’s a very well liked game but the series has never been one to hold my attention for long. But the school aspect that gives the cast a unique bond with the player and seeing the constant progression of everyone has been very appealing to me. Thanks for all the hard work, Cameron

Jonah Abraham

Hey Cohorts - Here’s a question for you guys. What’s an example of a video game series that started off actively bad, but its sequels were good? An example in film would be the Thor movies. Thor 1 and 2 are lackluster, but Thor Ragnarok is considered to be one of the best movies of the MCU. Can you think of any examples in video games like this?

Mike Lynch

Have you ever witnessed someone break a social contract? As in, doing someone we just all agree we wouldn't do in polite society? I sure did! 5 years ago I took my daughter to Chuck E. Cheese and noticed a grandmother on her cell phone. While she talked I witnessed this woman open a shaker of parmesan cheese, lick her fingers, and proceed to dig in and lick them clean. Over and over again. She then closed the shaker and put it back. SOCIAL CONTRACT BROKEN! The 17 year old I reported it to barely believed me but removed the offending shaker regardless.

MLA

The world is ending in 48 hours. Do you play: A.) GTA 6 B.) Final Fantasy remake Part 2 C.) Half life 3 Thanks Cohorts

Tanner Methven

Hey gang, Read any good books, lately? Love the show. -Tanner Methven

henrik mortensen

Hello? You know what? Answer that question. Everytime I send in a question I find it more stressfull to listen to your show. I end up just waiting for my question. That is stupid. So I hope this question or whatever it is, never to be read out loud. Or is it? So here is the real question. Riddle me this, Suriel. Will the next Resident Evil be called Resident Evil SIX with captioned IX for 9? Hate your show

Charles Davis

I don't mean to cause an argument buuuuuut........ Why is it that some people use inverted controls? It used to be the norm, games like flight simulator made 'up' tilting back on a joystick but many games have since adopted 'Up' being up as the new normal. Are those who play inverted monsters?! Or are those who play 'Default' the brainless conformists who are the Real monsters!? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DIVIDING US? (Side note:- I played inverted as a kid and changed to default at some point so I could play games that had poor accessibility and no option to make control's inverted)

While pouring what you think is a fresh bowl of cereal, you're instead presented with a puff of smoke. Its a Cereal Genie, of course, and he's allowing you to wish any video game themed cereal into existence. What game do you choose and what is the cereal like?

Jason Wojnar

Are there any games you know for a fact you wouldn't have played if it were not for the COVID pandemic? I know the extra time afforded to me from March to June let me play through Nier: Automata, Final Fantasy VIII, and another run of Skyrim for the first time since it came out.

MoonFaceNick

What’s up Minn Fam, As a gamer who is getting uncomfortably close to 40, I can vividly recall the days when sometimes all you had to go on when choosing your next video game rental was the box art. What’s your best example of an awesome game that was hidden behind crappy box art? Do you remember neglecting a video game or franchise longer than you should have simply because your interest wasn’t piqued by what you found on the box? Alternatively, do you remember any terrible games that reeled you in with amazing art on the cover? Thanks in advance!

Jonathan Fenn

Hi CLCs, is the Nintendo Direct dead? The last main Nintendo Direct was in September 2019, and while COVID obviously disrupted release schedules last year, Nintendo seems to be coping just fine releasing new trailers whenever they're ready, rather than saving them for big blowouts. Will you miss Directs if they are in fact gone? All the best from Nottingham, Jonathan

Sam Morrow

Good day Ben and friends. I recently finished AC Valhalla (90 hours) and found myself overwhelmed by the amount of content. It became more of a slog to play and really disconnected me from the story. Similar problems were mentioned during your Game of the Year discussions and got me thinking: what elements of games could be removed without impacting the overall package? Has it become a necessity for games to include as many features and content as possible just to up the hour count?

Patrick Polk

I'm super excited for Resident Evil Village, but have you guys looked into signing up for the closed beta they're doing? The process is kind of intense! You have to sign up for two different accounts: 1) a Capcom ID (registering in a page in Japanese), and 2) a Resident Evil Ambassador account. Then at the end of the sign up you can improve your chances of getting selected for the beta by linking your Twitter account, but the permissions it requests are INSANE, including posting and deleting tweets for you, liking tweets, and following or blocking users. (See https://imgur.com/gallery/tE5HUa9). Is this normal? This seems very bad.

Kyle Silva

Hey Ben and Cohorts. Thanks Ben, for taking my suggestion to play Spinny's Journey. It reminded me of that game, Roundabout. Hope you keep enjoying it. The game made me wonder, do you have any games that were heavily inspired by another game where you prefer the the follow-up over its inspiration? Something like Roundguard Vs. Peggle, or Immortals Vs. Breath of the Wild?

Fabled Ursa

It's time to play The Syno-Name Game! Your objective is to guess the popular game studio, the catch is that each studios name has been changed with the help of synonym.com Good luck! -Snow Storm (Blizzard) -Insubordinate Pup (Naughty Dog) -Stone Celebrity (Rockstar) -Feline Noggin (Lion Head) -Shinobi Philosophy (Ninja Theory) -Decade Penny (Tencent) -Computerized Crafts (Electronic Arts) -Burst Beret (PopCap) -Excellent Cage (Supercell)

Mr Pop

Hey CLCs - Any interest in general game industry 2021 predictions? I know you had a segment in a previous podcast about games you were looking forward to for the year but I’m talkin big fish “this company will choose to do this weird thing” or "Dr Muto will be in Smash Bros" type stuff. It's always fun to hear people have to re-examine their predictions at the end of a year! But hey what do I know - I'm just a salt of the earth Joe from who knows where and not some Big City Podcast type with their fancy suits, chompin on cigars and whatnot. Anyway - love the show and keep up the great work!
