What are some games in your backlog you really want to get back to. I Recently finished resident evil 3 remake and now I’m playing through 4 while looking through the entire timeline.

PhillyYeetSteak

Hello all! Quick and easy question: whats the dorkiest thing you have spent over $100 on? For me, i bought the NES and TV lego set as soon as i could (it was around $250).

Jonathan Dinh

Hey Ben and the CLC's I recently started my run of Persona 5 Strikers and found myself getting super excited to join that world again. I found a similar feeling when playing FFVII Remake in 2020. It feels like coming home for both of those games in the best way. My question is, what are some of your favorite game worlds to experience again, either in a replay or in a sequel?

Fenrir

If you could be any Pokémon which one would you be?

MagillaMyke

Hello Ben and crew, I have a weird obsession with a very niche genre...FMV games. It all started with an old PC game called In The 1st Degree were you would investigate and prosecute a murder case as a district attorney. Check out the very 90's trailer. https://youtu.be/JqSNnS4aZeg Fast forward 25 years, and there has been a resurgence in FMV games thanks to the success of Her Story. Late Shift and Erika are two pretty good newer games in the genre but FMV games rarely reach above the "ok" mark and more often they dip into the "why am I playing this?" realm. My question for you is, do you have a game genre or series that you just can't quit despite your better judgment? Thanks for all that you do.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. After watching the Pokemon Presents presentation last week, I was left pondering what kind of weight fans and shareholders are putting on Game Freak's shoulders. The long-rumored Diamond and Pearl remakes were finally revealed, but - putting it mildly - not in the way I expected them to be. This is, of course, because Game Freak has subcontracted those games' development so they can try to blow us away with Pokemon Legends. which really does look promising. However I can't help but think that maybe these two projects should have been rolled up together into one - picture adventuring through Diamond and Pearl's Sinnoh using the Legends character models/art style with complete camera control throughout the whole game, with a small (or large) "wild area-esque" endgame area. But all of this left me wondering; why does Pokemon absolutely have to have a yearly release? I've once heard the argument that the games need to keep up with all of the other Pokemon media out there, but does a new game really need to be created to coincide with every season of the anime? I'm not a developer, but I've gotta think that having a longer development cycle would allow Pokemon to really make some big welcome changes in their mainline games, without having to create all of the spinoffs that shareholders might now expect them to maintain. Anyway, thanks for reading my big long comment. It ran a little longer than I thought it would :|.

Greetings Minnmax crew! Yesterday I suffered an embarrassing experience. While it was happening, the epic Kingdoms of Amalur soundtrack by Grant Kirkhope was playing, which ended up making the whole situation quite funny. So my question is: What epic video game music would you like playing during life's embarrassing moments to help take the sting out of an otherwise difficult experience?

RickyWinterborn

after the lackluster sony and nintendo streams, i was wondering do you think more focused attention/anticipation of streams could start being bad for companies? it's getting to the point where public opinion and the companies stock price is directly influenced by the hype and then delivery/failure of the event. will companies actually start to miss events like e3? where there was less direct responsibility and you glommed onto the overall news bubble?

Joshua Wiljanen

Hey, y'all. In honor of women's history month, I'm only playing games with female protagonists for the month of March. What are some of your favorite games with female protagonists?

ian williams

Hey gang, what is your favourite food from another country? or that you cant get locally to you? ive always wanted to try taco bell but i cant get it anywehre near me here in the UK. take care!

Thomas Deranek

Hi MinnMax! Remember when Mark Cerny asked us to send him pictures of our ears to get optimal audio quality? As far as I know that never came to fruition. Do you think Mark Cerny just has a thing for ears and wanted a lot of pictures of them? I like to think so. Anyway, have a great day everyone! Thomas Deranek from Kansas City, KS

Tim Lorow

Do you all have the next generation consoles already? I google "playstation 5 restock" nearly every day and still haven't come close to getting one. And apparently Sony has already sold 4.5 million?? Am I not trying hard enough or I'd there some trick I'm missing?

podbod

Just before you head out to work for the day in a non-covid world, you realize you have a big cow lick in the back of your hair. You are already bordering on being late, and have only three minutes to deal with your mis-shapened hair. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?

umryan

Hello Minn Max crew, what game do you think has the best secrets? I was reminiscing about how fun Bomberman 64 with all it's hidden collectibles, secret areas, and unlocking the rewarding and very difficult final stage. What games can you come up with that have the best all around secrets?

Eric Reitz

Arby's and Shovel Knight?! What's the weirdest video game cross promotion you can remember, and what crazy promotion would you love to see?

Garrett Peters

Hey everyone!! I've been playing a ton of Dragon Quest XI lately. I've been overjoyed by all of the small touches like the town characters dialogue and more specifically, bursting into random people's hotel rooms and smashing pots right in front of them. What are some of your favorite unnecessary touches or random mechanics that brighten your experience in JRPGs?

Nick from Atlanta

Hello Cohorts! Hanson made a comment last week about a game from his Pile of Shame he's attempted several times. It made me wonder, what's the game from your Pile of Shame you've attempted the most times, but never finished? Thanks, Nick from Atlanta P.S. at the risk of Hanson banning me from the Discord, I think mine might be FFVII.

Matt Robinson

Howdy cohorts! What unique mechanic from one game would you like to see more games utilize? Personally I loved the stand-offs in Ghost of Tsushima and would love it if more open world games took adapted and improved on it as it introduced a new approach to combat. Also every game should have a grappling hook.

Swiggity Swoo

WHAT DO PEOPLE WANT FROM NINTENDO??? After the direct and the Pokemon announcements, what's left to ask for?? Just curious. Love the show!! Or do I....!?

Doug

Similar Games? Hitman & Outer Wilds. Immortals & Mario Odyssey. Are there any games that you think are actually comparable based on their overall design, despite the general discourse on moment-to-moment gameplay and "genre"? I feel like sometimes game discussion can group certain games into a certain genre, without actually considering their design decisions or ways they motivate and satisfy the player. I always consider this when i ask myself "What do I ACTUALLY enjoy about this game". To use my 2 examples: Hitman & Outer Wilds: Both are focused on exploring an area and finding "intel" or general knowledge and then returning and repeating the area with your new information. The reward is discovering something on your own and feeling like you succeeding when you properly implemented your ideas. Immortals & Mario Odyssey: Both have the player exploring a large open area where you can go anywhere but are still somewhat directed by minimal story. As the player discover challenges, they use platforming, or minor puzzle solving in the world to obtain the reward (Moons or Currency). From your Central Time Zone pal in Manitoba, Doug

Hey MinnMax! I grew up without any Nintendo games in my life (I was a PSP kid). But like Ben's nephews, my parents decided to buy me a gen 1 and gen 2 Pokedex book thing and some pokemon cards. I didn't really know what most of the "overrated pokemon" were. My question is: What are your top tier "underrated pokemon" and why is Game Freak wrong for ignoring them? Shoutout to Sarah Podz for funny tweets.

Benjamin

Hey all, What would the perfect Pokemon game have in it? Do you think Arceus will have all that? Is it just pretty much everything Crystal had in it?

Mackenzie Beyer

Hey Ben and the crew, I've been going through a tough time lately. Emotionally and mentally. It feels like my life has been upended dozens of times in the last couple weeks. So naturally I turn to video games for comfort. I started my second playthrough of FF7R and I realized how comforted this game makes me feel. Which brings me to my question: What is your comfort game?

Jake Z

With the showing of Pokémon Legends Arceus there's been much commentary about the seeming emptiness of the world and the frame rate trouble. Early on in the Switch's life there was a movement to get everything ported to Switch, but now should there be a movement to port Switch exclusives to other platforms so we don't have to play them in compromised form?

Ethan Poe

Hey all I finally beat Persona 5 Strikers last week and really dug the newly added characters. That being said last week's trailer for FF7: Intergrade reminded me some of the real clunkers that the spinoffs added to that story. So I thought I'd ask who are your favorite and least favorite characters added to spinoff titles?

Mark Ramirez

Hey all, as a kid what was your most watched adult movie? We’re not talking Land Before Time, we’re talking movies that make you say “why was I allowed to watch that?” When you look back.

Jared B

Congrats Minnmax crew on pivoting part of your business to publishing Books based on video games or books set in the same world as gaming. Not only that but you have committed to them actually being good not some cash grab tie in stuff. Now that you are doing that what game series are you wanting to do with what author? Personally I would love a dishonored book series written by Brandon Sanderson

ProcyonNumber6

Hey Benn and the Crew, How far do you typically play a game before abusing the fast travel system to get everywhere? in Insomniac's Spider-Man I'm pretty sure I had beat it before I realized you could fast travel since I enjoyed the locomotion so much. In other games like Horizon Zero Dawn I fast travel just down the street. Honorable mention goes to Ghost of Tsushima, the world was beautiful but damn did it load fast travels quick.

Crayter

If you died right now, what loot would you drop? (Whether the literal contents of your pockets or a metaphorical representation of who you were as a person, or both)

Matthew Weatherley

G'day Minnmaxeroos. After hearing you say your favorite movie was Jurassic Park last week I thought I would revisit it and see how it holds up. Wow that movie is still great, except for one thing. The scene where Newman slips at the waterfall with the can of cream is ruined by the most inappropriate sound effect. They use a cartoony slip on banana sound and all sense of reality is lost. It left me saying WHAT WERE THEY THINKING. Can you remember a sound effect in a game, movie, or show that was so out of place and hurt the experience.

DangerZone

Hey Crew, With the Sinnoh remakes being done by a different studio other than Gamefreak, do you think The Pokemon Company will be open to other remakes or even mainline titles being made by outside studios!? Also, what studio would you like to see make a Pokemon game. It can be a remake or new spin-off. Thanks!

On the subject of underrated Pokemon media, I feel the need to shout out Pokemon Colosseum on Gamecube, the very first Pokemon RPG! Developed by Genius Sonority, where James Turner worked before he started at Game Freak, of particular interest is how much Colosseum cribs from Final Fantasy 7. Similarities include: - The game opens with the main character bombing a villainous organization's facility - The main character previously worked for the villainous organization - The first town is a bastion of civilization in a vast wasteland - Early on you rescue a girl with mysterious powers from being kidnapped, who joins you and becomes a party member - You journey to a remote town where the grandparent of a party member advises you on how to proceed - You have to win the approval of an immense man who is the ringleader of a town in order to proceed - There's a vertical civilization, with the bottom layer being decrepit slums, the middle livable but run down, and the top immaculate and new - A mysterious giant man with long flowing white hair menaces you throughout the game and is fought in the final encounter There are many more, from the design of the overworld, to the way the character models are animated in an exaggerated way, and how the game is overall structured more like a traditional RPG moved forward by the plot than other Pokemon games! Have any of you checked it out at all?

Joe Kafchinski

With daylight savings time right around the corner, which do you prefer, daylight savings time or standard time? (The right answer is daylight savings time. You morning people are screwy.) Also, so excited to have NikoleZ on the show. Please please PLEASE have her explain some Pokemon lore for us. Thx.

KnockingNick

Since I'm going to be playing Arkham Asylum on the hard difficulty for the first time ever (for the Deepest Dive), I just wanted to ask: How often do you guys play any given game on the hardest difficulty?

Hugo Aguilar

Hey Cohorts! Sekiro and Bloodborne are some of my favorite new IPs from last gen. What are your favorites? Keep up the great work!

Ben Shively

Sometimes, gamers as a whole seem to just assume that an unannounced game is so likely to happen, that they just assume it’s actually coming. Games like this are Metroid Prime Trilogy for Switch and a Silent Hill reboot. What are your favorite examples of this/are people just setting themselves up for disappointment when they go into every major event expecting these games to be announced?

Henry Chandler

What's the right amount of stamina for a stamina meter? I can understand only being able to sprint full speed in short bursts, but why do I drown after 45 seconds of swimming in every game?

It's Hugo's Nook

Hey dear Minnmaxians! In the recent Pokemon Direct your own Ben Hanson got absurdly disturbed/enamored/annoyed with the line delivery of "You will ride the neo one!" by the Pokemon Snap narrator. To the point he uttered those words four more times randomly, even muting the stream to do so, during the direct. My question is: What is a terrible line from a game that you simply love to hate? Mine has got to be House of the Dead II's first boss shouting with a baby voice "You'll suffer like G did". For whatever reason me and my group of friends always quote it

MickManga

So I know a few of the computer loving cohorts like anime. The winter season of anime has been on fire with so many amazing series currently airing. So my question is what are you all watching currently?

YARF

What is your favorite malapropism? The misunderstanding of a popular phrase, like “dancing the flamingo”, when it is actually “dancing the flamenco”. One of my personal best was when I was a kid, and I asked my mom why I couldn’t have a “boy cheese sandwich”, instead of a “girl cheese sandwich” LOL, because I always heard “girl” instead of “grill”. Any misunderstood phrases you’ve used and been called out on? Or any you’ve heard from others and lifted an eye brow?

Joshua Caleb

Hey Minnius Maximuses, people like to ask "what's your 'Desert island' game?"; a game that you'd be ok playing only that for the rest of your life. But what about the inverse? What's your favorite game that you'd be ok never playing or even looking at ever again?

Andrew Rennolds

Hey All, What game from your childhood did you love but looking back didn't realise how bad it actually was at the time?

Tanner Hoisington

What is a food that every time you eat it you think "why don't I eat this every day?" For me it happens whenever I bust out the crepe maker I got for Christmas and put some apple sauce, cinnamon, and sugar on those bad boys.

Tanner Hoisington

Oh and I never do this but I wanted to dig up an old question I submitted since we are talking Pokemon. --------- I have always felt like there is wasted potential when it comes to the world of the Pokemon games. If you look at the first 20 episodes of the cartoon alone there are: abandoned Charmanders dying in the rain, the arc of Ash's Caterpie evolving into a Butterfree before a tearful goodbye, a Ghastly who is friends with the ghost waiting for her lover to return from war, and the famous Squirtle Squad! Where is this level of character in the Game Freak games eight generations later?! The Pokemon Snap games are better examples of what I want to see more of. Am I alone in this?

Quenton Cassidy

Hey Minnmaxers! What's the best game to play after a break up? I'm thinking Yakuza: Like A Dragon for the focus on optimism and self improvement

What’s the earliest memory you have of playing a video game and what makes that memory so special
