Hey there coMorts! If you could pick ONE cartoon character/game to be created at the visual quality of R&C Rift Apart, which one would it be? Thanks!

Dennis M.

Well, hello there, Roche, Roche, Roche and Roche! First of all, real quick, what is your favorite game of all time? And now for the real question: do you think this will ever change? I think this probably boils down to whether you are a nostalgic person or not. I can totally acknowledge some shortcomings, but no game will ever give me the warm and cozy feelings I get from Final Fantasy IX. It takes me back to a time where everything was okay. For that reason, and because it's a great game on its own, it will forever be my number 1. Greetings, Dennis M. (two Ns)

PoorAndCurly

Hey horts! I need your opinion on a sizzly hot topic that game developers can't seem to agree on. Do the subtitles toggle in options belong in the audio section or gameplay section? I'm an audio man myself and it baffles me how many times I find it under gameplay! What do you think?

Jake Midgley

what's for lunch? and whats the best food you have ever seen in a video game? (fidelity, hypothetical taste, in game explanations etc should all be taken into account!)

Ryan

Okay, look, I need to know if this is real. I’m not the most online person, so maybe I’m missing some info, but is this Switch Pro even real? Reports and rumors have all amounted to nothing at this point. Is this thing just gaming’s Bigfoot? It feels more like some people want that they are trying to make real so badly.

Hey! I recently went through a break up and had a hard time to relax but found that simulating working as a taxi driver in GTA V really helped. Here are some reflections on the experience of only driving a taxi in GTA. For one drive you make around $100-$300 depending on the distance. If you withhold speed limits and obey traffic regulations you make something like $800-$1200 every hour. "Downtown Cab" as the company's called provides you with locations and passengers but other than that you're pretty much on your own. If you make the slightest knock on your car what first comes off is almost always the cab sign. Everyone knows how valuable that item is. No one whistles for a cab without a sign. But in the world of GTA a new sign and general vehicle repairs cost as much as $500. Some customers will offer tips if the drive was fast and hit very few bumps. The highest tip I've received was around $50 but that is hardly worth the risk of losing your cab sign since the cost of that is ten times more than the tip. What I also have to add is that one hour in GTA is two minutes in real life which makes a one hour shift in real life a 54 hour shift in GTA and as I said that will only give you something between $800-$1250 and that's if you've done well. Hitting something during your shift will at most times make you lose more money than you actually make because of the repair costs and the time consumed driving to the closest mechanic. Once I picked up a customer in one of the rougher neighborhoods of Los Santos. As I got around the corner of the client I saw a big SUV blasting past me and seconds later a police car with sirens on hit my car straight in the side. They arrested me for their own crime, made me pay a $5000 bill and impounded my car. I've lost around $70 000 so far but still enjoy it. Have you ever gone super deep into a very small aspect of a game? PS. Love the show and thanks for doing the best content out there.

NuMarkyMark

Hello hello to the Cohorts! A magical wizard has given you each control of a new magazine to make (its a wizard from the 90s). What topic would your magazine cover? The catch- it can not be video games and has to be one of your other hobbies or interest. Thanks as always for the great content! -Mark J.

Chris Lopez

Hello Ben and the Cohorts! A couple of years ago, Aonuma said that the younger members of the Zelda team were playing Red Dead 2 and were finding some inspiration in that game. What are some ways that Red Dead 2’s gameplay or features could possibly fit into a Zelda game? Thanks!

Caleb

Hey lovely people, hopefully completely wild questions are allowed, So a slight backstory to this question that has been debated intensely by my significant other and I: Allegedly back during the time of Abraham Lincoln’s Assassination his body was taken by train to his final resting spot and was guarded at all times even late at night by one person. Now imagine yourself as this guard and sole person guarding Lincoln’s body in this train. Do you open his casket? Touch his beard/corpse? Not to sway the debate with any of our talking points but I am firmly in the camp of not touching the beard/corpse but she takes the opposite stance.

Gavin DeCroce

Hey Ben and the Computer loving Cohorton hears a who’s! With Gears of War recently entering the turn-based tactics genre, what other franchises would you like to see get the XCOM treatment? I think an XCOM style final fantasy could be pretty interesting! Thanks!

Jordan Brown

Hey Ben and the Cohorts + Joe, Will we ever see a new Okami game?

Shimmy Neutron

Ben feel free to use all or none of this. Konnichiwa Fellow Otaku's. 2 quicks an a long if I may. Suriel (idk how to spell it, shut up Ben), Top 3 FG or GG waifus your pick? Jeff my guy, bc your going thru it now I gotta know, is it truly impossible to play games an look after your baby? Between a baby harness, play pen, and one headphone out of my ear I think I could do it, how wrong am I? Lastly to the group. Yall seen this bluebox game studios situation with their game "Abandoned"? I an others are convinced it's silent hill Kojima ps5. Evidence: no name studio gets ps5 triple A backing from ps after only a failed release and a failed Kickstarter. Bluebox is supposedly getting their own ps app to debut trailers an gameplay, that has never happened b4 for another PS studios game. Their Twitter handle, BBgamestudios. BB? Not convinced? The Death Stranding DC trailer has Norman Reedus in a BLUE suit, getting into a BOX, with the Netherlands flag on his back which is NOT in the base game, but IS where BlueBox game studios supposedly is. Norman was supposed to be in the silent hill game Kojima was making back in 2014/15. He also mentioned him an Hideo are working on other projects months ago. The Director's name for this game is "Hasan Kahraman". His linked in profile is basically empty and was only made 6 months ago. The YouTube page for bluebox games has a background pic of.... hills. Look at Bluebox studios logo then look at PS's logo and tell me it's not familiar. The tweet they sent teasing the name of their new game, "first letter S last letter L". This tweet was sent at 3am Netherlands time, but 10am Japan time.. Another tweet about gameplay with the only capitalized letters being SHUDN, which could = Silent Hill Under Development Now. The game page for abandoned on the PS Store is buried but still has a description which sounds oddly like Silent Hill. Oh and btw if you translate Kahraman to Japanese it says... Hideo.... And so many other tidbits I won't get into, shoutouts to youtuber MBG for taking me on this ride. Tell me I'm crazy, I dare you!

Hey Minnmaxxers, Metroid Dread has finally been announced after more than a decade of speculation and rumors. Half Life Alyx surprised everyone last year after many thought that Valve was done making games in that series. Tons of other game franchises seem to have risen from the dead (Skate 4, Advance Wars, Ratchet and Clank, etc.) What would be the ideal game series in your eyes? P.S. Leo I loved the E3 Hive, great work!

Justin Ray

Gamesdonequick starts up on July 4th. Have you considered doing an interview with some of the people involved with the event to have a discussion about speedrunning and the event itself? I think some of the personalities would be awesome to hear on the podcast!

Owen S

Howdy gang, Game Pass and the $70 price tag are in a fight to the death, who wins!? And do you guys foresee a future where one of these approaches has to win out?

Hey !

Mason Parker

Hey Ben Banson, if that is your real name. You never get to participate in quizzes or games, so here's one for you bases on your favorite game that I also happen to adore, Age of Mythology. I reversed the answers to make it harder for you to accidently see them, so JeffM will have to unreverse them. SEND THE QUESTIONS TO JEFFM WITHOUT READING THEM NO CHEATING!!! 1. What would you type in the cheat bar if you wanted an invincible Canadian bear unit flanked by monkeys who shoots lasers?  2. Which of these is NOT a God power? Lightning Bolt, Bramble, Walking Woods, Spy 3. What three gods are on the cover art? 4. What are the four ages you progress through in a game? 5. What date did the game release?  1. Hello GI Alums, Why do publishers never make enough collector's editions of games? I'm still bummed out I missed out on Metroid Dread's version, boom and it was gone. Also do you think they will bring Metroid Samus Returns from 3DS to Switch? Thank you.

RickyWinterborn

i watched the playdate stream with ya'll, definitely thought it was gimmicky as hell and hipster ouya defines it perfectly, but i keep thinking about how interesting the hardware and season release plan is. i buy lots of $10-20 games on switch and steam, but almost never get past a few hours on each. is playdates approach the solution to our ADD game buying habits?

RickyWinterborn

will hero shooters become a permanent genre like MOBAs? they feel stale to me, but maybe i'm out of touch. every time a trailer comes out for a new one, OW2 included, it just seems so samey. i feel like every possible hero has been designed already.

MyNameIsDan

Hi Team, Could you please make it so FF7 Remake Intergrade is playable on PS4? Thanks, Dan

Abigail Warner

In honor of the anniversary for The Last of Us Part II I decided it was time to go back and chip away at the Platinum. While I think this game has too many collectibles I really like what you’re collecting. The trading cards are great and I have to stop and read them right away. My favorite though is the state coins. I love that they are a collectible that feels like something the character actually cares about and as someone also named Abby who has a complete set of those coins from their dad I couldn’t help but smile every time I found one. What is your favorite collectible you’ve found in a game?

Joshua Caleb

if you were suddenly given some kind of super power, would you tell anyone? Why or why not?

Jason Wojnar

Hi Minns And Maxes What's the worst co-op game you've ever had to stomach and why? Me and my brother probably took a solid 4 months or so to beat Resident Evil 6 because we are both ride or die with that series. Other games he had forced me to play to the end but as adults I've done plenty of hard outs (Far Cry 5 and Ghost Recon:Wildlands being 2 notable ones)

Blake Kibby

Hey all, I've been thinking a lot recently about older games, specifically Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, and I gotta say, I don't know how I ever managed to play those games as a child. They give you so little about type effectiveness, what various items do, or other crucial information. I know I had a strategy guide, plus a book of various details about all 150 Pokemon, so I had help in order to get through the game, but if someone were to pick up those games today, I don't think they'd get very far without help. So, my questions are: what are the best tutorials in gaming? What about the worst? Was there ever a tutorial that went too long, or was unnecessary?

Stephen Woodson

Howdy folks, Did anyone ever get $1,000 from Josef Fares (from It Takes Two)?

Taylor Hemphill

Hello Ben, Jeff, Leo, and Joe, If you could have any Final Fantasy Character get their own game/ dlc who would you pick and why? It can't be a main protagonist.

Doreen Ford

So, I just played Fenyx: Immortals Rising free demo on the Switch (Lite) and I'm curious for No Particular Reason Whatsoever: What's the quickest you've ever been turned off by a game? And why?

Jaketrix

Stock sound effects? Does anyone find these really distracting? The creaking gate, the Wilhelm scream, generic monster roars, children laughing. I hear these far too often in film and games. Can they not legally alter these sounds so they are less recognizable? They can break immersion if they aren't subtle.

John

Hello CLCs, I have a slight compulsion that is causing me to watch all of your podcasts in order. So I am behind. Like, by a lot. To put it in context I just found out that Jeff Marchiafava got promoted to Jeff MarchiaFATHER!! Congrats JeffM! It has been fun to watch past episodes from the perspective of almost a year ahead, maniacally laughing as though I am a time traveler with secret knowledge of the future. To name some examples, the year 2020, cyberpunk 2077, E3, the console shortage. It also gives me an opportunity to look forward to “new” games that have been all patched up by the point I learn about them. My question is this. Are there any games that you waited to play after release and ended up enjoying them far more than the review scores suggested you should because they were significantly improved after launch? Obvious example is No Man Sky, but I have also really loved outliers Windbound and Summer in Mara.

Adam Cohen

Hey MinnMax crew. I gotta say that I agree with your concerns about the new Wario Ware game. Do you think the reason you're controlling Wario instead of the games directly is so it can be played docked, in handheld mode, and on the Switch Lite?

Stephen Suminguit

Hi MinnMax Crew, With games like Army of Darkness and Guardians of the Galaxy announced recently, which comic book series - that have yet to be turned into games - would you like to see as a game? What would it play like? I'd love to see Red Sonja in the vein of God of War, and Vampirella in the vein of the Arkham series.

Nick Duncan

Hi Ben and The Bees, I want to know what your favorite nostalgia goggle free game is. That being, a classic title you never played until recently but fell in love with anyway despite it's age. For me it's Mystical Ninja: Goemon for N64, my fiance had a copy and she insisted I play it, and I thought it was ahead of it's time with absurd comedy and really fun level design, it's become one of my favorite N64 games.

Max Jahner

Not a question, just a comment for you lovely folks: Trivia Tower is wonderful, I hope you keep making it for a long time, but also I have no interest in playing it. Sure, I could. I'm a Patron! But I just enjoy relaxing and watching and not worrying about tryin' to type real fast. I'm sure there are others like me: Patrons who don't wish to enter the fray, but think it's a really fun show. I felt I needed to give voice to that. All the best!

Shawn Mills

What was it like when you all met each other for the first time? Thanks for all the great features you wrote for GI Joe.

Nick from Atlanta

Hello Co-Shepards! Now that the Mass Effect Legendary edition is out, do you think the game received enough support that the Multiplayer will also get remastered? What thoughts do you have about developers sometimes being put in the situation where they can't commit to features making it into a project and dangle consumer support as a possible avenue for them? Thanks, Nick from Atlanta

Jon Daczko

With Microsoft confirming that Starfield is a xbox exclusive and also having Outer Worlds 2 and Avowed as Xbox exclusives there has been alot of discussions on other gaming podcasts about Elder Scrolls 6 also being exclusive and the majority seems to think it will be a multi platform game which is just mind boggling to me. Personally I think it's ridiculous to think Microsoft spent all that money to not make the biggest Bethesda games exclusive on there consoles. I think it's much more likely that the next Doom or the Indiana Jones game multi platform but not Elder Scrolls 6. I'm just curious to see where you guys fall on the subject and thanks for all the great content every week!!!

TommenDotGif

What do you think is the best example of a perfectly average game?

anne

Hello! My girlfriend and I recently tried to start a co-op farm in Stardew Valley but she found it too mechanically dense as somebody who didn’t grow up playing video games. It’s made me realize that every time I play a new game, I come into it with existing ideas of how similar games work. Playing a game like Stardew is pretty intuitive for someone with a lot of gaming experience, but I can’t imagine how daunting it must look to someone with no experience with RPG mechanics, stamina meters, inventory systems, etc. Is there anything game developers can do to ease new adult gamers into the language of video games or is the medium doomed to be a little impenetrable to newcomers after they reach a certain age?

Garrett Peters

Hey crew! With Nintendo still releasing new amiibos, I was wondering if any of you have purchased amiibos or other gaming related figures? Which are your favorites?

Morne

Hey Leo and the hive With remakes becoming more and more popular, I have been wondering if we will ever get a remake for a game that wasn't a 8-10/10. I would love to see some remakes that not only reimagine but also improve on games that perhaps had a few good mechanics but didn't nail everything else. So my question is, what mediocre videogame from years past would you like to see remade?

Kees ('Case') Mulder

Hi! I'm playing 'The Wild at Heart' on Game Pass, and it's just a great weird mix of Luigi's Mansion & Pikmin in a story about running away from home. Anyway, if you save, the guy will adjust his hat, or straighten his clothes, or something silly like that, and it looks really silly & I love it. What is the best in-game explanation for saving?

The Diddler

Cyberpunk 6 months later. Thoughts and feels about it?

Sean Christopher Manning

Going through my 2nd playthrough of FFVIIR on my PS5, I set the sound effects and speech audio low while keeping the music audio high. It made the game feel so operatic and powerful. Have you got any quirks you did for subsequent playthroughs of games?

Fatt Mish

Was Nintendo right all along? About 10 years ago Mr. Iwata at Nintendo talked about the rising cost of gaming development due to the increasing demand for better graphics, sound and overall computing power. Nintendo meanwhile stayed approximately a generation behind with the launch of the Wii which helped keep game sizes down, development costs lower, as well as MSRPs on games lower. They also (outside of the occasional Zelda game) reduced game delays of major titles, reduced major bugs, and reduced the need for large, day-one patches. So, while few Nintendo games have wowed with amazing technical aspects, they've done well with innovating on gameplay. Meanwhile other devs have suffered many delays or waited many years between new titles in certain series. Was Nintendo right all along or should they be looked at differently for not wanting to push high-end, expensive systems as well as higher fidelity games? Would you trade the Switch for a dedicated, $500 home console with $70 games to have a better looking Mario Galaxy and Breath of the Wild that came out approximately one year later?

Bob Buel

Howdy cowpokes, What's been your most recent YouTube rabbithole?

MLA

Hey crew, Do you think if the new generation of consoles were freely available to anyone who wanted them, we would be seeing less cross gen games?

Hugo Aguilar

Hey Cohorts, If you can be a recurring character in any show what would it be and why. Personally I’d go with Bobs Burgers. It always feels like the cast have a blast recording it.

Sean Mason

Hello CLC’s Do you honestly think competitors look at each other like we think they do? Does Battlefield look at Call of Duty, does Xbox look at PlayStation? Do you think they are always trying to one-up each other or is it just an illusion that the fans have put up? Best, Sean M.

KevinJ

Here are some sets of four game series each. For each set, you need to choose one series to get a remaster (same game, but brought up to modern standards such as The Last of Us Remastered or Skyward Sword HD), one series to get a remake (same game, but on a new engine with some modern flourishes, such as Spyro Reignited or Link’s Awakening), one series to get a reboot (similar elements but fundamentally a fresh start for the series, such as X-COM Enemy Unknown or DOOM 2016), and one series to get a sequel (a new game that is very similar in style to the previous games in the series without many notable improvements, such as Spider-Man Miles Morales or Super Mario Galaxy 2). Set 1: Jak & Daxter, Splinter Cell, X-Men Legends/Ultimate Alliance, Battlefield: Bad Company Set 2: F.E.A.R., Timesplitters, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Burnout Set 3: Fire Emblem, Sly Cooper, Killzone, Infamous Set 4: Alan Wake, Red Faction, Pokemon, Red Dead
