Hello MaxiMinnions! Imagine you're watching a Summer Game Fest (or similar) presentation next month and suddenly they announce that a dormant franchise you love is returning with a new sequel, reboot, or remake. What game announcement would get you the most hyped up? Let's define dormant as not having a main series entry since the PS3-360-Wii generation or older. Personally I think mine would be a new entry in the Chrono series, or perhaps a remake of Chrono Trigger in a Dragon Quest 3d style. Thanks bunches, Sean

Leading up to "E3" season, it's hard not to think of the leaks of E3's past (Bethesda spoiling Dishonored 2's E3 reveal comes to mind). Some people like leaks, some people can't stand them. Has a leak ever made you more excited for an announcement than you think you would have been if it had just been revealed without leaking?

DarkFishDays

Hi all! Would Dreams regain some popularity if Sony announced a new standalone indie was created using Dreams? Or is bringing it to PC the only way to bring in new creators?

Hey Ben and the Game Query's! I think one of the most exciting moments of E3 for me was the first teaser for the Final Fantasy VII remake. I mean I was jumping off the couch and yelling as one of the most important games of my youth was coming back in a big new way! HOWEVER, I ended up being slightly disappointed playing FFVII Remake when it came out, as I guess my tastes in games had changed since I was young and I just didn't find the same magic in it as I did back then.. The hype for the game from it's announcement was completely opposite to the way I felt playing it on release. So my question is actually the OPPOSITE of that! What announcement or trailer at E3 seemed disappointing or underwhelming only to have the game itself be AWESOME and something you loved? With love, Likeuh

What's the most underrated game on the 3DS and why is it Pocket Card Jockey?

Brainfreeze

What do you think is the biggest marketing lie you've heard behind closed doors at E3? A hands-off demo that, in retrospect, was clearly fake, for instance.

carsonrissotbb

Hey, how's it goin? What was the poorest attempt you can remember of a company attempting to create a jaw dropping E3 moment, but instead falling on their face. For me, I think of the Wii music presentation which became an E3 moment for all the wrong reasons. Bye bye now

Jake Z

Just a correction on last week's episode: The genre term that describes Citizen Sleeper is "literature porn," as Ben has established in the past.

Bob Lienemann

Hey Minnmax, Now that we have Gears Tactics, Metal Slug Tactics, and Mario vs Rabbids, which non-rpg franchise would you like to see get a tactics style game? Personally, I think it might be an interesting way to successfully use the myriad of weirdos in the Sonic franchise. -Bob Lienemann (rhymes with cinnamon)

Greetings Minnmaxengers, the past few years has seen the rise of seperate digital events as a way for publishers to highlight upcoming games on there own terms, with the Nintendo Directs leading this charge. With the pandemic, these digital events have become even more common, with some serving as replacements to E3, like Summer Games Fest. My question is, do you prefer these digital reveals to the in person event that is E3? What are your favorite parts, least favorite parts of E3 and digital events? Keep up the fantastic work, Minnmax crew!

Tanner Hoisington

I was listening to a Kinda Funny podcast from a few weeks back and it came up how they abandoned their Deepest Dive equivalent for Days Gone. What was the closest any of you got to dropping out of a Deepest Dive? What would be your breaking point?

Tyler Kasishke

Greetings! Anyone ever have a movie scene impact their life in a small strange way? For example, because of the movie Final Destination, I will never pass a log truck on the highway. Thanks!

CANAS1AN

remember when xbox had a guy on stage use Kinect to show us the bottom of an avatar's shoes? that was fun. what is your favorite E3 Kinect/Motion controller moment?

RickyWinterborn

hi horts, what specific reveal were you most hyped for from E3 that ended up never being an actual game? mine was the early GameCube Zelda tech video showing him fight Ganon in a melee-like graphics style. the jump from n64 to that felt unbelievable to my 11 year old brain

Jonathan Griffin

Hey Ben “handstand” Hanson and crew, I’ve been watching the first season of Bosch: Legacy, a spin-off that is basically just season 8 of the original show, and I got to thinking, what are your favorite games that just continue to offer more of the same? The series offers it’s one thing, and never really iterates, and you love it for that?

Matthew W

Hi Minnmaxxers! Let's say you're tapped to host a digital E3 event, but your co-host must be a different version of yourself. Would you rather present with: a puppet version of yourself? An animatronic? A virtual reality anime avatar? Something else? Thanks!

Virgil B

Hi MinnMax! During E3 Press Conferences, I was wondering how the live audience is handled. Did anyone get to attend? Was it first come first served or did you have assigned seats? And on a more general note, what is your seat preference at events? Right in the front, in the center, or in the back etc. Thanks for all that you do!

Cherrymorph

What's the most recent game that you'd consider one of your favourite games of all time?

Habeeb Adejare

Hello MinnMax, I just realized so many Warhammer games have come out over the years due to their weird licensing agreements that seems to just let any studio take a crack at their IP. I wanted to ask if any of the crew think any old IPs could benefit from this treatment?

AnAttackCorgi

Let’s say I’m going to a gaming convention for the first time. What are some “Do”s and “Don’t”s of attending? For example, DO bring your own snacks? DON’T ask everyone there about gaming NFTs? The more specific the better!

Bryce Blackmore

Whats your least favourite E3 memory? Whats a moment in time you try to forget.

Adam Cohen

Hello MinnMax crew. Have we reached a point in society where you believe any level of technology is truly impossible? Like if there was a "Get A Load of This" submission about a research team successfully teleporting a small inanimate object, would you be able to believe it? I don't just mean be skeptical, I mean really just not believe something is possible. How crazy would something have to be for you to not believe it?

Hello MinnMax BETTER QUEST ENTRY Hello. I am writing about a better quest goal. It might get a little real with this post. Starting on Memorial Day I will start a motorcycle class. I have never been in control of one but have rode on many if them as a passenger. It's a 3 day class on how to operate and maneuver the motorcycle. The reason I am doing this is due to passing of my step dad. Growing up he had Harley and I would also ride with him all the time. In 2020 my mom and sister took the class and they got to ride together with my brother. In October of last year he passed from covid. (Fuck Covid) I regret not being able to ride with him. So I want to be comfortable enough to ride on the anniversary of him passing. Thanks for having this platform for us to express our goals. Sorry if this was a long post. Have a great day. Nic

Tokyo Game Life

Hi MinnMax, If you had to swap hairstyles with one video game character, who would you pick?

Ryan Foshee

Howdy there MinnMax! A little set up, I just finished the coursework for my Master’s in Library & Information Sciences. During this last semester, I got the chance to combine my studies with my favorite past-time— video games! In short, the research I was doing related to improving video game metadata, especially concerning the process of librarians finding and/or recommending games if they are not games, themselves. Some of the information I worked with was from GAMER (game research) Group, and I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon none other than Kelsie Lewin’s name listed as an active collaborator. Just thought I’d share and, as always, shout out to the Video Game History Foundation. Y’all do fantastic work! In the spirit of my research, what IS a video game and do you think there are certain fundamental aspects of games important for describing them as specific information objects? How would you improve game genres?

Hi everyone! What is Judges Week like before E3? I would love some details (the ones you can give) about what those events leading up to E3 entail.

Hello Minnmaxers. I recently bought a Switch. It just some happened to coincide the a trip I had planned so I was excited to play during the flight just like in the commercial. Only when the time came, I was too embarrassed to do so. I don't why it felt so awkward. My question is: what's wrong with me? Has anyone felt similar? I'd appreciate any and all tips prior to my next flight and/or rooftop party.

James Pies

Simple question, what was the biggest surprise E3 announcement while any of you cohorts were in attendance? The PS4 price tag in 2013? The nonexistent Beyond Good and Evil 2 or Metroid Prime 4 reveals in 2017? Would love to hear a tale of some jaws dropping to the floor. Thank you for being the best content creators on planet earth. Bonus question! Was there an announcement that made you cry? James from NYC

Bob Buel

Howdy Hanson and the Minnxes, What video game power-up would be most helpful to you in your day to day actual life?

Shade

So yesterday I was in the PlayStation store and was looking at Metal Gear Solid 5 and saw it was twenty dollars. I considered buying it as I have been meaning to get around to playing it for years but in the end chose not to as I still have a pretty massive backlog and I was hoping I would be able to catch a sale later. Then today I saw Peglin, a rouglite deckbuilder in the vein of Slay the Spire with combat based on Pachinko, and immediately dropped twenty dollars on it, Later I was thinking about this purchase, and it made me wonder why I was so willing to drop twenty dollars on a game I have never heard of before and will likely stop playing after twenty or so hours but wasn't willing to spend the same money on a game that I have wanted to play for years and would likely put at least sixty hours into. I don't really regret the purchase, but it is still kind of weird when I think about it. Anyway, does anyone else have any impulse buys that made no sense when they thought about them later?

Vincent L.

Hello and congratulations, The ESA decided to put you in charge of revitalizing E3. Now that you’re in charge, what is your E3 BetterQuest goal? Was there any part of these expos that should have been turned up to 11? Something to get rid of? You get to make the new rules! Thanks!

Andy Dwyer

Hi everyone, Do you have a favorite video game genre? How has your favorite genre changed (or not) throughout the years? For me I grew up with JRPGS as my favorite genre and remember back in the ps2 era I would look up if any got above a 6 on gamespot and then try to go find them in GameStop’s 3 for $10. Now I find myself still preferring JRPGS but mostly sticking to the bigger releases and playing a larger selection of games from other genres.

Thomas Armijo

Hey everyone! First time posting a question and I apologize it’s not E3 related, but with Ben tying the knot soon (congratulations by the way!), I wanted to ask: Who is the best couple in all of video games? Another fun question is: If you could choose two video game characters (from any franchise) to “date”, Who would you choose and why? Thanks for all the great content!

Eric Seal

Dear Ben and Kelsey and Joe and Leo, I'm thoroughly enjoying the Scholomance books Leo mentioned in the podcast a few weeks ago! What's the best recommendation you've received from someone you've never met? Bye-bye, Eric

Boondock-Bandit

Random E3 question, if you had to suddenly present for a game company/game, what would you be most confident talking about?

Ryan Butler

Hello Hanson and the Horts, What are some of your favorite behind the scene memories or personal stories from E3 that aren’t exactly related to anything from E3? I will never forget Ben Reeves’ short shorts, but are there any other fun stories we may not know about. Keep up the great work!

Roronoa Serenoa (sam)

Last week you mentioned Kingdom Come Deliverance and I can confirm they've patched up that game's many many issues. I played on pc gamepass 2 years ago and finished it without any serious bugs. Its definitely worth a second look if you like rpgs, I loved my time with it. There are so many weird and unique quests and it has such a rewarding progression. My question is if you could change one thing about the Howard the Duck movie, what would it be?

YARF

So… I’m no stranger to the expo’s hallowed halls. Being in Stockton CA, I made the pilgrimage to Anime Expo many times, same location as E3, July 1st to July 4th. It was held right after E3, and we’d see vestiges of the event, a lingering sticker, or promotional debris. We are kindred Tarnished in that way. Would y’all ever consider hitting up Anime Expo? Also, what was your most miserable E3 experience?

Murphy Jax

Hi everyone. What in your opinion was the best game with the worst e3 presentation? Thanks.

Dave van Gorkum

We all love to hear about the amazing experiences you've had during E3 and other gaming events, but what about the worst experiences you have ever had? People always think you guys are living the dream (which you are) but it isn't always fun I imagine. Treat this as a form of (free) therapy. Keep up the good work all, love the content you guys put out. Take care!

Ben Cassell

Hi all. What game trophy are you proudest of achieving? It doesn't have to be Platinum or anything, simply the one you felt the most gratification in seeing pop up on screen. For reference mine was Bolt from the Blue in Bioshock Infinite (5 head shots from sky lines) Keep up all the amazing good work.

Andreas Jensen

What's the weirdest - or just like unusual - reason you couldn't get into a game? I should like Dragon Quest XI because I love turn based JRPGs, but the music in sounds terrible in my opinion. Especially the combat music, which you hear all the time.

Ian Switaj

Howdy everyone! With "E3" season approaching, my question for you is this: How do you like the announcements that E3 normally has to be offered? Do you prefer all the announcements to be made over the course of a week at a known time every year, or do you prefer how things were handled in 2020 when E3 was first cancelled where all the major studios had their own announcements sporadically dispersed throughout the whole summer? I, personally, prefer the former.

TommenDotGif

Can you think of any developers who had as good of a generation as From Software on the PS4? Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, and Elden Ring is an absolute banger of a lineup

Owen S

Do any of you have what it takes to be a Roller Champion?

Jason Wojnar

Can we all talk about Cold Winter for a second? I feel like this extremely violent PS2 FPS is often overlooked. It had a great campaign and fun multiplayer.

Grizzled Gaming

Hey gang! Have any of you witnessed "a fart in church" moment at E3? Like something completely embarrassing or cringey? It doesn't need to be from an actual press conference. Thanks and have a great day!

PhillyYeetSteak

Hey yall! Have you ever seen a game reveal at E3 or other event that made you think "omg this game was made specifically for ME"? I definitely felt this with the spider-man ps4 announcement.

catzzznite

Hey minnmax!! I recently met one of my favourite skateboarders of all time(daewon song) and he ended up being much more humble than i could have ever imagined, which surprised me for some reason. i can’t help but think it’s the old phrase “don’t meet your idols” echoing in the back of my mind. come to think of it, most everyone i look up to who i’ve had the pleasure of meeting has exceeded my expectations. you don’t have to name any names, but what was a “meeting your idols moment” that surprised you, good or bad?

Dayron

In public, what’s your policy on baby interaction??? (Baby being defined here as a 5-10 month old.) Children that age have a tendency to stare (often when the parents are looking elsewhere) and I’m a sucker for those fat little chibi humans. Do you make faces? Wave? Smile? Or the ultimate baby-flex. . . Peek-a-boo. I’ve been caught numerous times playfully making faces at other peoples babies and my response is always the same: “THEY started it. Tell your kid to stop picking face-fights with me.” So when it comes to babies , what are YOUR rules of engagement? Love always, Dayron from Fort Lauderdale, Fl
