Who changed their settings to interact with X and dodge with O, so much better! Should have been the default.

Sam Danby

I think I prefer the combat as Atreus. It's quick, it looks awesome and there's not as many systems happening at once.

Adam Meran

It was really surprising how timid and fearful Tyr is after being held captive so long. I also loved how despite his demeanor he still managed to feel intimidating when he finally gets to his feet and towers over Kratos.

Jonah Dieckhaus

Kratos’ response to Atreus cussing during the train wreck was so logical and practical of an approach and exactly what I would expect from Kratus.

Matthew Munoz

I like how the only troll we've seen is a quick dispatch by Kratos in the form of a QTE. It made me chuckle a bit at the idea of SSM just making us take out one more troll. Real talk though, the enemy verity has been tremendous.

Joe Dean

Hey Ragnarokkers, I really love Thor's delivery of "dumbass" when he gets Kratos while recalling his hammer. It's the prefect encapsulation of Thor's frustration with Kratos' weakness. There's nothing triumphant about it, it feels more like he expected so much more. PS Definitely waiting for that frozen lightning to come into play later in the game. -Joe Dean

Clemens Zobel

Lyngbakr is precious and must be protected. Great side content, very strong emotionally.

Shawn Mills

I love the return of the ambient dialogue when you walk around and it feels like there is a lot more of it this time. I especially liked one exchange where Atreus asks if it's moral to kill someone who is trying to kill you. Kratos just responds with "Yes." and Mimir comments "Well there you have it lad."

Idk if it’s because I have huskies, but that Fenrir scene hit hard. I was not expecting such an emotional gut punch so early in the game. Also, I was not expecting the Atreus angle at all. Any hot takes on more unexpected places this game will take us?

Jake Z

What's with menu text being scrollable when all the text fits on screen? It seems more and more games do this

Josh64

The moment I saw Atreus’ sick wolf, Fenrir, I was just a absolute mess, probably the fastest a game has made me cry ever. Sunny Suljic and Christopher Judge’s performance sold the scene perfectly.

I'm loving the small conversations when messing around. It really adds to the world. For example, after completing "Surviving Fimbulwinter", you can come across the area where you jump between the realms in 2018. If you run up to it, Atreus says "You do remember we don't have the Unity Stone to let us jump off, right?" Another is seeing the dragon at Sindri's place. If you throw your axe at it, Atreus says it isn't a threat and doesn't think you can reach that far. I love how they put in time to converse about stupid stuff I do.

Barney

There are a lot of colourful insects in this game. They are kind of neat, but don't add a ton to the game's environment. I'm curios to know why the developers thought to add them when I'm sure time and resources were limited.

Jalopy Slow

Uncharted references, anyone? As the mine cart flies off the tracks: Atreus: “Shitshitshitshitshiiiiiit!” Then a Samuel Drake-y line from Mimir: Atreus: “That was crazy, all of it.” Mimir: “You said it little brother.” Atreus is then scolded for swearing & panicking, a direct dig at Nathan Drake’s whole persona.

Lævateinn

I am having so many feelings about animals. Fenrir's death and the bear cubs in the beginning, or the Lyngbakr side-mission that had me bawling my eyes out at the injustice ... annoyance at Odin's ravens :P what a great game.

Branden Murphy

Okay, I feel like I'm going crazy. It has happened twice now. Atreus has said, "Hey, did you see that?" and I saw absolutely nothing. Do we think Atreus is seeing things Kratos can't or am I just blind? This happened in the boat on the way to the Dwarf village and shortly after just entering the mines when looking for Tyr

InstagramExpert

Soooo i absolutly love the poems! Its so much fun to see which game they will describe yet. Add Kratos random comments about them makes them the perfect collectibles!

Sam Danby

All the characters seem to think Tyr has lost his mind, but I loved how calmly he was able to explain his issues to Atreus when he calmly says "I'm sorry I ran, I don't always know what's real." I'm enthralled by Tyr so far.

Moonsbro

Is it just me or does the fur on the wolves and the hair simulation in this game look insane? overall the graphics are more or less the same as GOW2018 (thanks alot stupid ps4 version) but i was truly impressed by the wolf fur and Thors hair flopping around during his fight.

Strange Sloth

Why other animals do you want to see Atreus turn into?

Greg Spenser

One of my favorite things in this game so far is the quick flashback of Faye! (Played by Deborah Ann Woll?) I hope we get to see more of her. Her pet name for Kratos is 'Grumbles', which is what I now refer to Kratos as.

Rory Gladstone

Speaking of old friends: I really like how Kratos and Mimir's friendship has continued to flourish in our time away from them. There is a sweet codex entry about him and the way Kratos consults him and always holds him with respect really warms my heart.

Gabe Valdes

I love the lore entries specifically for friends and foes because those seem to be written by Kratos (everything else seems like it's Mimor??). You can really see how much he's grown and softened up through his writing

Hugo Aguilar

So we know there a bit of fourth wall breaking like when Thor revives you. So In that fight with he also mentions the the Valkyrie Queen that you fight in the previous game. I’m wondering if those that didn’t fight her still heard that bit of audio. Would be cool if the game was reading your trophies. Kinda like psycho mantis, reading your memory card.

Dru Marcus

On the way back from meeting Freya, I love the small detail of Sindri fixing the lift switch by replacing one of the handles. No matter how small, the impacts we make along the path make our journey more impactful.

Heurou

The biggest surprise for me in this section of the game was us getting to play as Atreus I figured it would happen in some big cinematic moment possibly near the end of the game so I was pleasantly surprised when I realized we were going to get to play him so soon. (i didn't follow any preview coverage or trailers so if this was something known beforehand I wouldnt have known)

Marc S

Starting the Thor fight I expected some shade thrown at Kratos, but when he went after ME when he made fun of me for trying to remember the moves, I took that personally. Not cool man.

MyNameIsDan

It was weird running though Nidavellir while it was completely empty right?

Curgeles

I love the relationship between Mimir and Kratos, and it really shows his growth as a character. It's great to see Kratos turning to Mimir for counsel, and really embracing him as another member of the family.

Curgeles

The art direction and character design is incredible- though I wish we had a better to look at the enemies Kratos is tearing through. I think the best looks at the different enemies I've gotten has been when they are standing over me during slow motion death sequences.

Matthew Munoz

The single shot of the game hasn't done much for me this time around. I loved it in the previous game but it feels kind of forced and been there kind done that kind of thing.

Hunter Sax

I like the special triangle ability they added, however I do miss the ability to quickly switch to the axe from the blades like in the previous game. I've accidentally started spinning those blades many times via muscle memory. Using the d pad to switch back and forth feels slow.

Beau!

Why am I unlocking the same skills from 2018 GOW? Do I have Alzheimer's?

Thwip

I'm really enjoying Kvasir's poems. I didn't read anything I picked up in the 2018 game but have really enjoyed everything I've read in this one so far. I have to ask though, am I missing the joke in the name Kvasir? Is that supposed to mean something I'm not getting?

Eric Reitz

Really enjoying the game so far and really like that we get to play as Atreus this time.

BIG!!!!HERB!!!!!!

I really wasn't expecting that we'd see Odin so early on in the game. The bit where Thor "kills" you in the first fight genuinely fooled me.

Collin Lambrecht

I love that Santa Monica included multiple unique kill animations for each enemy WITH BOTH WEAPONS. My favorite has to be the reeling in the little Wretch lizards with an R1 from the Blades, and Kratos just detonating the lizard in his fist as an automatic insta-kill. Incredibly satisfying!

Vilis

The poems: when did you figure it out?

Matthew

Did anyone notice the mushroom guys just outside of Brok and Sindri's house? I spent far too long watching them move about. There's so much detail in the world to appreciate.

Peter Naujoks

Is it just me or does it feel like there is less boat banter in this game compared to the previous? I encountered quite a bit of silence when rowing through Svartalfheim that it made me rush from destination to destination.

Nick Novotny

I really loved that when I cleared an area out that Atreus would mention we "got everything here". It kept me moving along in the game instead of searching some areas several times over to make sure I missed nothing.

Shimmy Neutron

That Freya scream.... wow 👌. Burned into my soul. Also not the biggest fan on the sped up combat. It's more fluid but less weighty

Tom Walz

This is a fantastic game, but I never remember all of the runic and accessory (?) control combinations.

Scanzi

I'm loving the game so far, but Atreus' voice is going to take me a while to get used to. I guess even gods go through puberty.

Dylan

Nice to see everyone’s theory of Atreus shape shifting come true. It was really interesting to watch the bear fight play out and I’m really interested to see how that’s gonna play out in the next parts of the game.

Barrett Boswell

When you get to Sindri's House at the Tree, Atreus looks over the edge and makes comment on the "dragons" down below. I tried to throw my axe at them and Atreus basically chastised me for it. Kudos to the developers for having a Hideo Kojima like mindset in guessing what gamers would do.

Third Times A Charm

Don’t know how I feel about the upgrade system being so robust, I’m liking the limited selection for Atreus as I feel that with Kratos there’s a tendency to hoard resources because you don’t know if something is going to be craftable that’s better in the near future

Maximilian Wagner

So i am now about 3 hours into the game and if I'm honest i am struggling to keep going. Am i the only one who is kinda bored with this game? I personally still don't enjoy the comat.I am having trouble navigating the UI and all the different armor options, sockets and skill trees. Also I don't really care about Kratos and Artreus.
