Hi there Minnmaxes, With Lies of P adapting Pinocchio, What other public domain ip's do you think would make for a good video game?

Travis in Fargo

What do you make of all this talk about aliens recently? Like, what’s out there?

God's Garage

What’s your biggest “ah I wish I didn’t look that up and solved it myself” in your gaming history? Mine is link between worlds final boss, wish I stuck with it and figured it out on my own for the ultimate satisfaction !

Druidboy02

Guys—first of all hi and thank you all for being amazing—I have nostalgic or comfort games on the brain. Any game that you hold near and dear that you return to again and again for that extra special dose of dopamine. Kingdom Hearts, oh Paper Mario and Pokémon Sapphire are prime examples for myself. Thanks for everything and love from Oklahoma!

Victor Pham

Will nostalgia always play a large role in defining our favorite games? Can a new game ever dethrone your favorite game of all time?

MyNameIsDan

Hey friends (and welcome Jenna!), What is the proper etticate when it comes to keeping or throwing away cards given to you for special occasions (i.e. birthday, anniversary, etc...)? Do you keep them for a period of time? Do you throw them out immediately? Does it matter which occasion they are for? This needs to be solved, so good luck and thanks for your efforts on this! Thanks, Dan

Connor

It's funny that the game about killing Satan is published by renowned corporate devil Bobby Kotick, right? No ethical consumption etc. etc., but there's gotta be a better way for my partner and I to engage in Lizard Brain Videogame Together Time than spending $150 with that icky man. Thanks for any advice.

Benjamin

What's the best surprise you've ever experienced?

RickyWinterborn

diablo 4 looks and sounds awesome, and a bunch of my friends are playing it, but I didn't even consider starting it because of the massive time sink and how my life just can't manage that kinda game anymore. i'm partially sad but also somewhat proud of myself? it's almost like a relief to not play it haha. there's some fomo but i also played so much diablo 3 that I kinda feel like I checked that box for gaming...

Vincent L.

Hi, I’ve been playing Diablo 4 and enjoying it, but I don’t know why it has to be so gross. While I like the general art direction, the shock and horror fades quickly when so many dungeons look like my character was teleported into a nightmare colonoscopy. It feels like a lot of environments in horror-action games go too heavy on the sinew. Are there any underutilized horror themes or settings you all would like to see in horror-action games?

Sam Kennedy

With the direct coming in hearing a lot of “switch pro this, switch pro that.” We all know Nintendo never does what’s logical and would never make the sensible choice to meaningfully iterate on their successful hardware. So my question for you is—what is the real gimmick of the next Nintendo console going to be? Wrong answers only.

Chandler

Are any of you planning on doing some hardcore slacking off while the boss is away?

Stoopkid90

Hi Minnmax crew My wife and I have been playing Diablo 4 couch co-op and having a blast. What game have you and your partners enjoyed playing together the most? (Special thank you to Leo Vader and all his recommendations. KeyWe was a big hit in our house)

Christian Jimenez

Hello Computer Loving Cohorts, Played the Lies of P demo and it feels like we finally got a soulslike worth the praise. It is basically a love letter to Bloodborne. What does Lies of P need to achieve a proverbial blessing of quality from Miyazaki? Secret twist, tough as nails bosses, barefoot characters? Chris

Mike Lynch

With more artists and creators comfortably calling their art content, do you think in 1 or 2 generations people will call their children content?

Andrew Danglis

Hey Horts! With mean-old-fuddy-duddy Ben away on paternity leave (seriously, congrats!), it’s time to get away with something he would NEVER allow on his watch. Since there is no way he will EVER listen to or watch this, it’s time to throw down some “Put Ups” for Ben! “What is a ‘Put Up’?” you ask? Well, it’s the opposite of a put down! That’s right, I am asking you to take this opportunity to flatter and compliment Ben in his absence so he can not deflect or try to halt the proceedings. For an example, I will go first: I sincerely appreciate the openness Ben has about his own quirks and anxieties. Not only is his candor often hilarious it is also a healthier example than I think he realizes of how to accept oneself.

Ben Shively

Am I the only person who thinks Lies of P is a potential GOTY? I love Bloodborne with all my heart and this feels like an unofficial sequel in every sense. This is my most hyped unreleased game after finishing the demo.

Cath

I miss animal crossing updates. Anyone else in the crew does too?

Lamb Dance

I was thinking about that episode in Double Fine PsychOdyssey where Ryan returns from paternity leave to discover everything at the company has been flipped around. What will you be fundamentally changing about MinnMax to surprise Ben when he returns?

SunniDee22

Hello new and improved MinnMax crew, I completed the FF 16 demo over the weekend and I was so impressed with it I have decided to get the game. It’s rare for me that a demo has that much impact. As such, when was the last time (or memorable time) that a demo convinced you to buy the game you weren’t planning on getting. Love the show!

Joe Alonzo

Is there any game you’d like to see remade from the 16 bott era and why is the answer Plok?

Joseph Field

Hey MinnMax crew! Curious if a games UI or menus has ever been so bad it turned you off playing. Currently playing Fable (xbox 360 remaster via series X) and the quest menu and map is so terrible but the actual game is a fun goofy time. Very conflicted if I should just skip to the second game! thanks, Joe

Mackenzie Adams

pee pee poo poo, pee pee poo poo, pee pee poo poo (I just wanted to see if this is the type of question our guest host would take!) Thanks, VillainMack

Stark

From a preservation standpoint, what are the biggest losses the industry has already sustained? Is there anything especially surprising that has already been lost to time?

DoodyTheBrown

Why can't apples and oranges be compared? That is all I would really like to know. But honestly, they are both fruits.

Abe

Hey MinnMax! I randomly remembered that my friend once told me they saw a Rogue Legacy 2 ad at the DMV which seemed so weird. What’s the weirdest scenario or place you’ve encountered any sort of games media? The more obscure the better.

Marc Levender

Hello to the new Benless MinnMax! With Ben stepping away on paternity for a couple months it got me wondering, if you stepped away from your full time job or just away from the field of games for two months, is there another passion or area you’d want to pursue? Obviously Ben’s circumstances are different with baby responsibilities, but if you could drop everything right now for a couple months how would you fill your time? New jobs, hobbies, naps???

Charles Bean

Is it weird to only brush your teeth once a day instead of 2? Just wondering for a friend

Michael Berry

My friend and I got really excited when we first saw a trailer for Afrika on PS3. At the time, we thought Afrika was an animal simulator where you selected an animal and had to survive in a specific ecosystem. We later wondered if it would have multiplayer where one person would be a cheetah and another would be a deer trying to survive. Our minds tried to puzzle together what Afrika the game was and we were way off. It ended up being a realistic Pokemon Snap kinda game (which is still cool in it's own right). What are some of your more wild incorrect perceptions of games?

Cody Allison

lies of P put a fragile and cherished children's character in a dark violent souls-like world. My question is this: if I give you a list of other unexpected characters what kinda game type or genre would you plop them into? - the lorax -Shaggy from scooby doo -willy wonka -charlie brown -Peter Pan

Bob Buel

Howdy cohorts and the new Lil Hanson! Who do you believe has jumped more - every human that has ever lived, or every video game character ever?

Derek Achoy

So Ben has probably already named his child, but all the baby talk got me thinking - what makes a good middle name? Is it something that just sounds good when the full name is spoken? Is it a nice spot to honour a loved one? Or honour a different language from the baby's heritage? Whatcha think?

Luca Alberti

Kelsey, you have the keys now, you hold the Podcast Power! It's time to know: what do you expect from Monolith Soft. going forward? Do you think we'll get Xenosaga remastered after the Baten Kaitos collection? Show them a thing or three about Xeno!

The Canipa Effect

I've finally gotten around to playing Resident Evil 4 remake, and that means I've been able to watch the RE4 Deepest Dive! Are there any videos, articles etc. that you've been excited to watch/read, but haven't yet because the thing it's about is still on your media backlog?

Garrett Wainstock

Do I still have to make sure no other buttons are being pressed when I turn on my controller? I'm guessing that's no longer an issue, but after doing it for 20 years, it would be a hard behavior to change.

Damon from paradise

Hi Minnmaxers! I have a question about games in the reddit/twitter era born from my enjoyment of Diablo 4. I have been playing Diablo 4 quite happily enjoying myself, finding builds, enjoying the story, etc. I go onto reddit and twitter and see that people don't seem to be happy unless they are complaining about this thing or that. Have you all noticed a trend for fanbases to hate the games they spend hundreds of hours in? What do you do to distance yourselves from this as people who need to be engaged in this for your work? Were games better before we had the whole internet to tell us why the games we love are bad or am I just nostalgia baited. Cheers!

Kyle Silva

Hey MinnMax! I’m going on vacation soon and I’ve been thinking hard about what games I should play on the 18+ hour long airplane ride. What’s your favorite game that you strongly associate with an airplane ride? Mine is currently Tetris DS.

Kaizoku Risu

Do you keep the cardboard boxes and/or user manuals for game consoles (or other electronics)? I always hang on to the product packaging just in case I need to return the item for any reason, but years later I still have all these empty boxes I should probably just get rid of…

Joe Garifo

Kelsey and the J’s! With the two long running franchises of Zelda and Diablo both dropping new titles recently, who has the better chest opening sound effect? Zelda with the climbing music or Diablo with a quick exploding loot sound?

ImABiggyBoi

Hi gang, Watching the recent Fred Again tiny desk concert reignited my music production hobby due to it's creative use of live instrumentation to create electronic music. What's a piece of content that left you inspired to create in a similar way?

Cory kimmel

Hello everyone, much love and many smiles to you all! My birthday just pasted; June 17th. I found out I share a birthday with Kendrick Lamar and Kazuma Kiryu. Do you share a birthday with any cool video game characters or anybody at all?

Bradley-J

What’s your favorite content to fall asleep to? I’ve recently started watching video game documentaries (like making of’s) on YouTube and it knocks me out instantly

Graham Jones

Hey minnmax, When the Ben is away the community will play!! What is your favorite Ben expression, tagline or mannerism? Personally, I love when Ben role plays different situations for the ad reads... Always gold.

Kevin Kuper

Did you ever use the notepad page that used to come in the game manuals inside a game case?

Phelix Diaz

We all know game developers have a secret society where they decide what's the next big gimmick in gaming. Which eventually appears in a bunch of games. (E.g. the bow and arrow in 2013). Can you predict what's the next idea these develuminatis are going to agree on next year?

Joe Dean

If you were given the chance to officiate a wedding, would you do it? How nervous or confident would you be in your ability to crush it?

Virgil B

Would you rather play a 10/10 whimsical game or a 10/10 serious game? I think games usually fall somewhere in the middle on the spectrum of whimsical to serious but if one leaned more one way than the other, which would you choose?

wittynicknamehere .

(looks over both shoulders) ...okay, listen, Cohorts. We have a rare opportunity here, and we cannot squander it. Ben was legitimately stunned during last week's podcast, when he found he didn't have immediate and unwavering support for the idea of just giving effing Tears of the Kingdom the number 1 spot on the Two Tens for this year. And now he's looking the other way for two months. He's a sneaky devil, and he WILL connive that DLC-sold-as-its-own-game into the top spot if the rest of you give him the tiniest glimpse of daylight. It is incumbent on you all to start a training montage for your unified front NOW. He's gonna be discombobulated and sleep-deprived when he returns! He'll be practically Amish, he'll have played so few of the big games this summer! Convince him! Spare us the anticlimax at year's end, I beg of you! Uh, anyway, what's the game you most wanted to see at this year's not-E3, but it didn't appear?

Rich

Is Fable a Shrek-like?

Simon Kirwin

Hey MinnMax sans Ben, with the newest Final Fantasy game coming out and seeing a lot of the debate between traditional jrpg fans versus those more open to the action oriented style of the newest entry, is it time for Final Fantasy to finally drop the numbered moniker? I can't help but feel this would have been a good marketing strategy for the long term of the series. It's already confusing enough with both 11 and 14 being MMO's. May I suggest "Final Fantasy: Clive Strikes Back" or "Final Fantasy: Return of the Clive"?

Guatles

Hi please I know Ben is off but please please please do a deepest dive for FF16!! My current GOTY too.
