BEN GO TAKE CARE OF THE BABBY

Max Myers

Hey all, my wife and I are considering a move to Minnesota (potentially?) at some point in the next year or two. We currently live in WA, but housing prices are absolutely insane here. Does anyone have any suggestions for good places for us to check out when we visit in October? We are hoping for somewhere with lots of organic food stores or co-ops, hiking spots, somewhere near both nature and human civilization, and somewhat affordable. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Simon Kirwin

Have you ever taken off your shirt at a wedding reception?

Mike Lynch

Which game announcement felt the best? As in, the announcement was so good it elevated your soul. You can choose from this list or nominate your own! The Last Guardian? Metroid 4? Street Fighter 4 (11 yrs after SF3)? Shenmue 3? SORA in Smash Bros? God of War? FF7 Remake?

Patrick G

With McDonald’s having their mascot milkshake “the Grimace shake” what video game mascot needs a milkshake, and what kind would it be?

Matthew Byerwalter

Happy to hear Ben has joined the speed running community with his new PB on paternity leave! My question is has anyone ever immediately fallen in love with a franchise long after it came out? I played Pikmin 1 and the Pikmin 4 demo and I am HOOKED. Love the way it plays, how cute the Pikmin are, and I can't believe I've gone this long without playing before now.

Henry Chandler

Hey there Minnesota Maximum, Is it more fun to drive cars in games or drive cars in the real world?

Hayden Scott-Baron

Can you think of a time where eliminating a certain feature from a game actually enhanced your enjoyment? For instance, in the wizard-based roguelike, 'Noita', I opted not to use the 'wand editing' function, which surprisingly improved my gaming experience! In 'Tears of the Kingdom', I chose the streamlined 'pro mode' UI for distraction-free wandering. I've also switched the language to German (a language I barely understand) in several indie games to sidestep the subpar writing. So, I'm curious, which features would you sideline to enjoy the game better?

Anthony Brown

I recently played the Astrea demo, where you purify your enemies of corruption until they com back to themselves, and Chicory where you paint the bad guys. What other games have you played with conflict but without violence?

Jerry Young

Hi minnmax! Curious if you have ever had a game prevent you from getting to other games? I’ve had ff16 installed and ready to go since launch but every time I sit down to start it, I find myself doing “just one more run” of rogue legacy 2. That games loop is just so good! Any similar experiences for you? Thanks!

Hi MinnMax friends. Is it time to stop with all the 4th of July celebrations? Our independence was fought for a long time ago, it costs a ton of money that could go to better programs, the explosives scare a lot of our pets and animals in nature, and, in general, most of the activities can be done any time of the summer. What say you? - Mars

Rahh! Ben, you aren't allowed back yet! But if you are back, how do you want to introduce video games to your kid? Same question for jeffm, retroactive same question for Kyle, and same question for Sarah but for poggers. Thanks!

RobBobWill

Hey MinnMaxers! In the spirit of the Ben Hanson appreciation post recently (wait what? I mean nothing, it's nothing Ben don't worry about it or go back and listen or anything) I just wanted to make a formal JeffM appreciation post! I recently picked up Hardspace Shipbreaker after hearing JeffM talk about it on MinnMax, and I've been having a blast. The flow state of breaking up hazardous ships while sweet Americana is blasting on the radio is incredible! And it made me realize how much I appreciate JeffM's excellent but unusual taste in games outside of mainstream, and how I'll mentally make note of interesting games he brings because there's a good chance I'll like them too. So yeah, no real question, just go JeffM 'n stuff!

Following the party chat where we all exposed how many unread email we have and why, I want to know yours Kelsey had the most, Janet was mostly under control and Jenna is in my club which is if I see one unread email I gotta read it so I can have mo unread email. How about you? I expect Ben and Sarah to be in the thousand unread

Starkiller

Hey MinnMaxers, which game do you think had a bigger “spectacle” budget, God of War Ragnarok or Final Fantasy XVI?

RootFunction

Hello Cohorts! I'd like to get your thoughts on the Microsoft vs FTC case over the Activision Blizzard deal. 1. What do you think the outcome will be? 2. What do you think the long term consequences will be if the acquisition does or doesn't go through? Of course, the situation with the CMA is still going on in the background. If the merger proceeds in all other jurisdictions, I'd be curious to see how things are handled in the UK.

Sweet Karoline

Heya Hanson and the gang. Is there no one on the show that likes Star Trek?? Star Trek Resurgence just came out and it's the best Star Trek game in years!! Granted that's not saying a lot but there ya go! So are any of you guys Science Fiction fans besides Star Wars?? Thanks for reading!

SlyCut

Hello all, Please describe, in great detail, your perfect sandwich.

For the married folks, how did you do your proposal and did it go exactly as planned?

Just because it’s never too early to start thinking: what do you think you’ll want for Christmas/Hanukkah/winter holiday gifts this year?

Simple query: How's the FF16 opinions shifting as play progresses?

YoCallMeRob

When did you know your favorite game was your favorite game. Was it while you were playing or at some point after you finished

Victor Garcia

Hi everyone. Which of you can hold your breath the longest? It's time to find out! Competition starts now.

Duderado

Hey y'all, What's your take on proximity voice chat in multiplayer games? Battlebit Remastered has reminded me how much I love being able to hear other players strategize and react to the chaos alongside me. Voice comms enabling when you die - allowing you to act out your characters death - has provided some of the funniest moments from gaming this year.

Jared Piers

Why does Olimar keep getting stranded on the same planet? Why can't he learn? Thanks for the help.

Hi Minnmax Pretend that for 24 hours you were suddenly given the ability to talk to objects. You can converse with everyday items and they are able to talk back to you. Which item would you be most interested to talk with? Which item would you be afraid to talk to, due to the horrible experiences it would have gone through and the tales it would tell?

Michael Berry

Sharks or spiders? If you had to choose, which animal would you freaky friday body swap with for one day and see the world through their eyes?

Kevin Kuper

Hello Minnmax! What is your favorite way to traverse in a game? Riding a horse, a vehicle from a specific game or just jumping around with some powers? Thanks

NonBinaryBomb

Welcome back, Ben! In honor of the Hanson family's latest addition, what are your favorite examples of family in a video game?

Ajay Nath

I doubt most switch owners have a pro controller. How do you play Zelda, with joycons or pro controller? How do you play switch games - docked or in handheld mode?

Bryce Blackmore

Whats your favourite casual greeting? Howdy? Gday? Sup?

Malcolm Holliday

Hey Minnmax! Are y'all hot or cold sandwich people? Toasted or non toasted bread?

Hey gang! If you were granted an extra life this afternoon - meaning that as soon as you die you are immediately saved and can continue - would you do anything differently? Are there any dangerous activities that you would indulge in, or just ride life out naturally?

Hello Minimum Maximus clan, Is there too much "Game of the Year" discussion? I listen to a lot of gaming podcasts and I can't help but notice that every time a notable release is talked about, the discourse always seems to be grounded around where it lines up within the "Game of The Year" conversation. I bring this up now because I am hearing a lot of talk amongst the personalities that Final Fantasy XVI can contend with Zelda at this point in the year, but I honestly remember GOTY talk as early as Hi-Fi Rush! Am I just a grouch or has the media landscape always been Game of The Year centered and the internet just makes everything louder? Thank you for all that you do and here's hoping Theatrhythm and Octopath 2 make your two 10s this year. Peace and love, James
