Can anyone just sum up for me all the dirty laundry aired in this FTC trial?

claudio

Hi MinnMaxers! How often do you all actually engage with "end game" content?

Poetic Paradise

What do you think actual mana and health potions would taste like?

RickyWinterborn

Missed joke opportunity Kyle mentioned the game Gangs of Sherwood and Leo said another Robin Hood game? And Kyle said Sherwood isn’t that Robinhood? And Leo said for sure your right when he should’ve said forsherwood you’re right.

Aaron Hurd

When you get to name your character in a game, do you (a) use your real name, (b) have a go-to video game name, or (c) come up with a new name each time?

Chandler

I miss Reeves. Can he take a minute to reassure me that he's happy, healthy, and doing well out there on his own?

Travis Manick

Hello Friennds (two N's, get it?) (hold for applause), Kyle, you've said before that you dislike the joke from Moana where Maui signs his name with a chicken and calls it Tweeting, since it's a fictional world making a joke related the real world. So my question is, if Twitter ever goes away, will this joke now become acceptable since it technically no longer references a real world thing? Thanks, Manick_T

Hey MinnMax, What is a product that you would like to see invented that would lead to minimal improvement of your life. I would like a bar of soap that strands of hair can't stick to. It's not really a problem if I see a hair on my soap, but I would prefer not to.

Travis in Fargo

What happens in your brain when you listen to audio content? With podcasts and audiobooks, do you imagine what the speakers are describing, or do you just think about what the people you’re listening to look like?

What’s the biggest secret you ever kept from your parent(s) when you were a kid? When I was 10, my friend and I burned down a field by my house, and I told my parents a decade later - then they were able to laugh about it.

Hallo Hallo! I was discussing with a co-worker today a somewhat ridiculous but.... I felt worth discussing idea: Since Indie Games now overwhelmingly outnumber Big Budget/Publisher funded games, at what point do Indie Games become "Games" and the Big Budget Games become the ones that require a identifier all the time? I don't know about y'all's conversations, but I feel like in mine own convos it would still go "Hey, I'm playing this new game." "Oh, is it an indie?" "No no, a regular release." I suggested to my co-worker that it seemed unlikely we would ever get the public to change it's mind, but thought it was a good conversation piece.

I’ve been watching the Secret Sleepover Society play Dordogne, but it turns out the most interesting part of their play through is not the game itself, but how it’s prompting one of the streamers to remember and tell stories about her own French countryside relatives and time spent with them. This seems like a pretty rare experience to me so I’m wondering if any of you have ever had a game or other piece of media that hews so closely to your real life experiences that you can’t stop thinking about them?

thejjuan1

Hello everybody from minnmax. So there has been recent discourse with FF16 when it comes with its difficulty. My question to the crew is why is a game being too easy always looked at as a negative, but can’t be done to criticize a game being too hard?

Mike Lynch

Could you all please do your best DeNiro impression? (Voice, face, or both!)

Malcolm Holliday

Hey MinnMax, have there been any games from your childhood you revisited that you enjoyed more as an adult? I recently have been playing through the Mega Man Legacy collection and those classic games that once felt insurmountable are now playable now and super fun for me.

Shawn Mills

Has Ben come up with any more Benventions since he stepped down from the world of podcasting? The world needs to know.

Ryan Drake

I’m curious about how much time (if any) you guys spend watching other streamers or Let’s Players? I’m at the point now where I only really play 1-2 big games per year. But I still like staying informed (hence my subscription to Minnmax) and I experience the rest of the games through watching streamers and YouTubers. I know a lot of the cohorts stream regularly, but do you guys ever watch other people play games?

Tyler Kasishke

How does everyone handle TV show openers? Watch it every time to set the mood/tone? Always skip to get straight to it? Only watch it if it’s good?

When making a list of the greatest video game characters, do you think any characters that speak exclusively through text (meaning no voice recordings for their dialogue) can stand toe-to-toe with a character that is fully voiced and/or motion captured?

Linn

Hi Minnmax. This episode couldn’t be more appropriately. I’m currently hooked on Picross S3, when I “should” finish Zelda TOTK. My “issue” is that I don’t want to start Zelda, unless I know I have 2+ hours of uninterrupted gaming time. And when I know I don’t have that, we’ll, it’s “easier” to just play Picross. How do you solve the problem of big open games, with less and less time for them?

Patrick Hughes

Hoy good folks of MinnMax. Ever since the original Metroid on NES placing the first power-up to the left of where players started, there is an imbedded compulsion for most every gamer to check the opposite direction of the start. It goes so far that when coming across split paths in adventure games, my instinct is to pick what seems like not the main path to ensure no secrets are overlooked. What are your gaming compulsions and what / who do you hold responsible for these idiosyncrasies?

Jordan Dallford

Greetings MinnMaxians Has there ever been a mechanic introduced to a video-game series that you would be greatly disappointing if a sequel removed? My wife and I loved Pikmin 3 Deluxe’s full-fledged split screen coop campaign. We were so excited for Pikmin 4 till I realized they haven’t confirmed if coop will be present and if so in what capacity. The lack of a coop campaign would be disappointing after being the reason we got into the series. Similarly if the next mainline Luigi’s mansion game doesn’t have a Gooigi equivalent for coop play, that would be a let down. In God of War Ragnorok they got rid of the executioners cleave for a much less satisfying axe attack. Those are my examples I look forward to hearing yours, Jordan Dallford (JiggyDiggie)

Hey crew! Nintendo just realized their next mainline 3D Zelda won't be out until 2029 so they put YOU in charge of making a new spin-off as a holdover: that's right Zelda RPG! What team do you ask to work with, what characters do you focus on and what combat system do you pick?

Christian Jimenez

Hello, Last week I visited the Fifa museum in Zurich. They had a whole floor dedicated to the evolution of the game in video game format. Old consoles, avatar improvements, Fifa and Pes rivalry, even with play stations of famous matches on different consoles, ps1, xbox 360, ps5. I was actually very amazed by how much effort and focus Fifa dedicated to it all. Do you think Fifa will change course if its own new franchise doesn't take off, is EA too far ahead to avoid another competitor in this market. Or is the official FIFA branding enough to bring in people to it's side. Thanks.

If you had $88 in store credit at a used game store, what would you buy? Sincerely, An indecisive person

Ahoy hoy Horts, lately i've been thinking about rose tinted glasses when looking at older games. with the Space Marine 2 announcement being met with such warm reception, i remember the original being reviewed as a passable Gears of War clone, your basic 7 out of 10. why do you think this happens? nostalgia? or possibly a game not being reviewed on its own level and instead compared to others? etc. etc. gimme some thoughts. also, lastly, reviews are ultimately opinions of art, which is something made to give people an emotional reaction. so don't let anyone yuck your yum. like what you like and love what you love 👍

Lamb Dance

Hey MinnMax with two N's. I was reading up on the Pokemon Sleep coverage that came out this week. Apparently they required journalists previewing the game to stay overnight at a hotel so they could test it properly. Something about having to sleepover to preview a game is funny to me. Wondered if anyone on the team can remember a mildly unusual preview event they've participated in?

CrabPalace

I'm such a procrastinator that I play games that are less interesting to me to put off playing the games I'm most excited about. I also get anxious about finishing games I'm really excited about too quickly, so I don't play too much at a time to really savor them. But I don't think I've finished a game all year! I know you often have to play games quickly for your jobs, but can you relate to either of these feelings? Any tips on how to push past them and just enjoy myself?

Ajay Nath

Most switch owners won’t have a pro controller (because of cost mostly). Switch games support things like the “shake” which is easier to do with a joy on. Why do you use a joycon or a pro controller?

Graham Jones

Hey MinnBens, I have been reflecting on sequels in the arts recently and find it interesting that some art forms have plenty of sequels (movies and video games) and others do not (board games, visual arts, theatre). So my question is do you think you would be more appreciative of IPs if sequels didnt exist at all or do you find that sequels enhance the IP? Thanks for killing it with all the great content

echocircuit

Have any events in your life caused a significant shift in your gaming or hobby preferences? For instance, having kids has made me more aware of the amount of violence in most games and caused me to seek out games with minimal to no violence.

Michael Berry

There seems to be a lot of game companies on the wrong side of licensing issues. Namco is trying to rewrite history and turn Mrs. Pacman into Pac Mom. Activision was asking Sony for a king's ransom for Crash Bandicoot to be in Playstation All Stars. Sega seems incapable or unwilling to figure out the music licensing for Sonic 3 and replaced a lot of the iconic music with different tunes. Shouldn't these companies just bite the bullet and pay the licensing fees to properly preserve their games or am I oversimplifying this?

Fatt Mish

Hi MinnMax friends. When I was fairly young, I played a bunch of PC games that friends of friends would occasionally share--some of which I remember very well and some of which I only have vague memories. My question is, have you ever played a game in the past, that you don't totally remember but maybe sometimes think of in bits and try to recall? Peace and happiness, from Mars.

Jared Piers

Hey Minnmax, When you play a pokemon style game, do you look at the full roster of monsters and plan your team beforehand or just catch what you please and let yourself be surprised by all the creatures?

jacob hubbard

Hello Minnmax! I recently watched the behind the scenes for Summer Gamefest, and Brian Shea's rant about movie trailers syncing the action (punches, kicks, reloads, etc) with beats in the music had me in stitches! This trend has been a pet peeve of mine for so long and it's validating to know I am not alone. I think the edits just come off as corny. Are there any trends in game trailers that you all find annoying/grating?

Shimmy Neutron

Oi fellow kids. I know nothing of piccross, but I hope you have fun. My question is part brag, but part shame, you decide! Before the year started, I made a prediction that this would be one of the best years in gaming ever. I've wavered at times throughout the year, but there are times I hear others echo a similar sentiment. Should I abandon hope of being right, or are you saying there's a chance? For reference, Dead space, hogwarts, jedi, re4, Zelda, Sf6, diablo, FF16, and after your dual last week we'd agree the last 5 months of the year aren't slowing down. With all the bs in gaming aside, Idk if the highs have ever been so high and diverse.

KiwiTheGoo

Hey CLCs! The arcade scene in late 80s Tokyo, the early days of the PSP modding community, late 90s lan parties, and more. What was a cultural scene or "moment" in gaming that you missed out on but would've loved to experience and been a part of that community?

Tokyo Game Life

Hi MinnMax, I first played Pokémon Picross and the Twilight Princess themed Picross game on 3DS and thought they were fine. However the series didn’t click with me until I played Mario’s Super Picross on SNES via Nintendo Switch Online. Has there been a franchise that didn’t click for you until you played an older entry?

Rich

Hi Ben from MinnMax, (Just in case, it's pronounced Door-doyne!) I think the world would be a better place if we banned the word 'Immortal(s)' from game titles. RIP: Diablo BLANK, BLANK of Aveum and BLANK Fenyx Rising. What word would you ban from game titles?

Philip Arledge

if an animal species took over the world as our leaders, which one do you think would treat humans the best?

I was replaying through Dragons Dogma, and I had to let 2 pawns, party members, go because they became under leveled. It’s standard practice in this game but this time it was different. These 2 two pawns had been with me for the past 10 hours of the game. We did so much together, and I grew attached. Our final mission was to free a castle from goblins and after overthrowing the goblin king and taking back the castle, it was time to say good bye. It was harder than I expected, and I had to take a break from the game to recover. Has any game with a companion system made an impact like this on the minnmax crew? What was that moment?

Tony Mayato

Hey MinnMax crew! My question is this: Is there a game that you played that turned you on to a licensed artist, and do you still listen to that artist? For me Death Stranding hipped me to Low Roar, still listening to them to this day
