Which Pop Tart is best Pop Tart? Classic Strawberry? Brown Sugar? Is someone unhinged enough to suggest Unfrosted?

Jonathan Anderson

Two questions, feel free to use either/or: 1. What are the panel's thoughts on Quake II and Nightdive's, in my opinion, insane record remastering classic shooters? 2. More specifically for Kelsey, as someone who usually skips over concept art/design docs when they're offered as an extra, what are some games that present them particularly well in your opinion?

Joe Holaska

Hey MinnMax! In celebration of the cheese wheel in Baldur's Gate III, I have to ask, what's the best type of cheese and why?

RickyWinterborn

is it worth it to wait to play ballers gate 3 coop on ps5 with my wife? Or just do pc and she watches and backseat games a single player run? She really likes to choose convo options while I play Witcher lol

Forest Lassman

Any game that lets you jump coming out of a roll for a boost of speed is automatically better for me. What are some of your favorite little movement techniques in games?

Sebastian Apolinario

What is your favorite fruit? Or what is the "best" fruit? I always struggle choosing one, tastewise I love mango but a banana is much more utilitarian (cheap, easy to peel and very filling).

Lamb Dance

Question for Jenna - What did you think of Redfall? I think I remember you looking forward to it as an Arkane fan, so wondered what you thought of it in the end. And to make this into a question for everybody else - what's the last game/movie that used Vampires really well?

Leif Dion

What other games could we implement a dice roll into that already exist?

ProcyonNumber6

How hard do you think the first person who heard the “do you want some fries with your ketchup” type of joke laughed?

Pete Deaver

Hey yeah I have a question for Kyle and Jenna: where do you get the audacity to just up and leave? All totallyseriousquestions aside, here’s my real question: You die and go to some version of heaven. What game, real or imaginary, is waiting for you? And, alternatively, what game is awaiting your worst enemy in hell as the only game they can play for the rest of eternity?

Victor Pham

Question for Kyle - how did you approach hosting the MinnMax show versus hosting the Easy Allies podcast? And did you miss hosting a podcast?

Travis in Fargo

Have you ever concocted a scheme that you’re pretty sure would work?

Travis in Fargo

My wife works for a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that works to educate and empower voters. Her question for you is: how do we get gamers to Pokémon Go to the polls?! (But seriously, how to get gamers engaged with the voting process?)

SuperThisWay

I’m going to Japan in a few weeks and was wondering if there’s like any video game related stuff (museums, tours, stores) that would be cool to visit? Then I was wondering if there’s anything like that in the US too? And now I’m just realizing I should have researched this weeks ago! Love you all

NonBinaryBomb

What's everyone's favorite (or least favorite) money-grabbing scheme? A recent hit for me was Warner Bros. selling the movie "The Flash" as an NFT. Corporations for days!

Stark

Why aren’t more games set in Las Vegas? The city already feels like a modern open world game with side quests, points of interest, and procedurally-generated events happening in every casino. It’s really easy to picture a world where something like “This is Vegas” comes out and even has in-game gambling with virtual currency. Also, farewell to Kyle and Jenna. It has been a genuine pleasure.

Mikey "MyxeQ" Novak

Hey Minnie, Hey Max. Short Time Listener, First Time Asker. I am working on a proposal for my local library to set up a Game Library. I want to eventually have computers and systems there as well, but to start, I am looking to have just Games to borrow. What are your suggestions for: - Platforms I should try to support (Only Current? or dip back to PS2-3/360/Wii/Xbox)? - What popular games would you stock? - (If price/rarity were no object) What Gems would you include (something you would still lend out)? Thanks, Mikey "MyxeQ" Novak

Doctorok

What's your favorite rainy day activity?

Limp Bizquick

If Mario 64 is Citizen Kane what are other video games' popular works of art counterparts? Doesn't have to be movies that's just what I know. Is halo jaws? Is fortnite the MCU?

It's Hugo's Nook

Hi pannel! There's been a lot of discourse about BG3's scope, time, IP... but one thing I haven't seen talked about enough that links it to other memorable games is its willingness to let player miss out on a good chunk (maybe most?) of its content - like in the recent Zeldas or Elden Ring. Granted that more content available to be missed makes this part of the job easier, the idea of "missable content" is what leads to the dialog around these great games - and it IS scalable, just look at Hollow Knight's 2 dev team for that. What's the panel thoughts on games featuring more "missable content"?

Kraven Morcome

Hey MinnMax, Since Ben is coming back soon it is time to spill the tea. Were there any moments during Ben's paternity leave where something went wrong and the team had to scramble to fix it? Bad audio file? Forgot to upload a video? Surely something happened that made you think "I'm glad Ben doesn't know about that".

Chandler

Oh are we supposed to be asking them pointed questions? I was wondering why Kyle didn't mention this podcast on Delayed Input with Kyle Bosman. Is he ashamed?

PoorAndCurly

Its been great with Kyle and Jenna around, you will be missed! Any chance Jenna stays around as a Minnmax contributor?

David Dubs

Hey folks! We all know that with Ben’s absence, you all have been pushing the no swearing rule on the podcast a little more than usual. Considering Ben will be returning soon, I wanted to provide a safe space where you can swear all you want before he shuts it down. Feel free to just let it all out now before he gets back. (Sorry for the extra work beeping them out Jenna)

Mike Lynch

Is there a place of business in a video game that you wish existed in real life? (Thank you to Jenna and Kyle. Happy trails, y'all!)

notweirder

Hey Minnmax, what’s the longest time you’ve spent binging a game? For me it’d have to be Uncharted: The Nathan Drake collection, where I burned through the first two games in a couple days. Doesn’t sound too impressive but I was exhausted by the end of Uncharted 2. I booted up the third game right after but I couldn’t do any more, and have yet to finish it to this day

Brian W

What’s the neediest deep dive you’ve taken into something? I recently got into mahjong and bought books and studied rules for hours over multiple nights. I finally understand the rules, maybe, and am now making my own scoring hands print outs. Gimmie those prevailing winds!

Jackson Davis

I've been obsessively searching every chest, barrel, desk, etc. in Baldur's Gate 3 and I've been thinking: what unique items would someone find in your desk and what special effects would they have? For example, I always keep a big box of fruit snacks in my desk at work that gives me advantage on concentration saving throws since they help me focus.

RabidLime

OMG YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT HUNT SHOWDOWN MY TIME HAS COME. i've played for years and only get to talk with my buddies about it... but FINALLY YOU'RE COVERING IT!!! my question is... who's your favorite Muppet, and why? don't Prestige. only sweat-lords Prestige., RabidLime

Joshua

Hey Everyone, Does anyone else try to guess the word when podcasters pause looking for a word?

Joe Stone

What do you call the patch of slightly wrinkly skin on the elbow/knee? Me and my partner call it the 'scrag'. Do you have a different name for it?

Blazingscourge

What is the best dipping sauce for fries?

Phelix Diaz

It a been great to have Jenna as part of the MinnMaxers. Been a fan since her days on Polygon and love her video essays now. Jenna, what was your fav memory while taking the helm at MinnMax?

Patrick Hughes

Ahoy good folks of MinnMax and guest hosts alike. The last wave of Mario Kart 8 DLC gave us a new course taking place in a bathroom. So the sky is the limit, let's have some fun - If you could design a track in any theme / location that you wanted, what would you design as a new track for the final wave of DLC?

Duderado

What's a hard lesson you learned from a video game that you now utilize in other games? I always think back to missing a sword in Oblivion because I never asked the quest giver for a reward. Now I ALWAYS demand a reward in any RPG for fear of missing out on items. I ask because this is relevant in Baldur's Gate 3. Passing certain dialog checks may net you more rewards.

Derek Achoy

If real life were a cinematic AAA PlayStation exclusive, what would the triangle button do?

Brady Griffith

What food do you think has given you the most calories you’ve ever consumed in a single bite? A big cheeseburger? A piece of cheesecake? Giant spoonful of peanut butter? For my money, as a St. Louisan, I’ve probably consumed 500-600 calories in a huge bite of gooey butter cake (just as delicious and decadent as it sounds) Thanks, Kyle and Jenna, for all the great energy and insight you’ve brought to MinnMax!

Aaron Hurd

This is a really weird question, but how did the letter “x” become cool? It’s just a random letter like any other, yet Elon Musk is obsessed with it, Xbox has tied its identity to it, and the X-Men are a thing. Like why weren’t they the K-Men, and why didn’t Elon Musk name his companies T and SpaceT? Somehow X is cool and other letters just aren’t. Idk.

Vilis

I'll meet you *singing* "Doooown by the riiiiver" MinnMax crew, as we discuss BG3. As a long time D&D player, the game hits a good sweet spot for the crowd, but in the vein of your question "Things You wish BG3 did" It's so good that when there's an idea I have for a D&D character that I can't create with the Baldur's Gate 3 generator, it's a little jarring. It's similar to the frustration people who are familiar with D&D Beyond feel when they see a character option and think "Oh, this sounds neat!" but then realize they don't own the digital book for it, and so can't use it. For example, one of my favorite subtype of Elf is the Eladrin, but that isn't on the menu. But there is Githyanki, which is a bold choice! And all the Dragonborn, which took a lot of effort! And 3 whole Tiefling bloodlines, but not an Aasimar in sight (which are half-angel people for the curious). It's like showing up to a wondrous buffet with 100 different things to eat and as you look around, everything looks good, but you can't help notice they don't have YOUR favorite dish, or a dish you were excited to try.

echocircuit

Carpg. Can we all agree that Forza Horizon, The Crew, etc. are CaRPG's?

Luca Alberti

Hello panel! After the relase of BotW many fans asked for the Majora's Mask to BotW: a smaller game with a different tone released within a short timeframe from BotW. 6 years later, TotK is on the market, and while people loved it, I see the community voicing the unanswered demand: "I hope the next one is smaller". With games like AC:Mirage and StarWars Outlaws boasting about being shorter experiences, I think we might have crossed the limit of Bigger is Better mentality in the gaming industry, Thoughts?

tbeeks15

Hey hey Minn Maxers! If the Pokemon Company came to you to help design a new Pokemon for the upcoming DLC, what would the theme and general design of that Pokemon be?

Michael Berry

You all really kicked ass this summer, so kudos and congrats. To Kyle Bosman and Jenna Stoeber, if you two partnered up in Mario Kart Double Dash, what would your special item be?

Fatt Mish

Who in your life, is responsible for your first memorable gaming experience?

PhillyYeetSteak

Hey Minnmax! What aspect of videogames is your favorite to talk about personally? Do you like to get nerdy about lore or builds? Do you like getting hyped for upcoming games? Do you like to deeply analyze something specific? Thanks for all your support and presence, Jenna and Kyle!

Stevelution

Hey Kyle and Cohorts. Some discussion last week got me thinking about early gaming memories and I was wondering, what’s a game you played in your younger years that you went back and replayed and the memory of it was better than the reality? I recently went back and played Dino Crisis, a game I *loved* as a kid and wow that game has not aged great at all. Any games from your childhood not age the way you’d remembered them?

CptCobblePot

Greetings Minnmaxers, Jenna and Kyle, thanks for being a big part of Minnmax for the past while. It’s been great hearing Kyle don the hat of podcast host again and Jenna hosting Party Chat (and video editing among other multitudinous things) What did you like best about being a part of Minnmax? Bonus question: Any changes you think could benefit the brand?

Tokyo Game Life

I went to the Pokémon World Championships in Yokohama this past weekend. Yokohama is a port city, so there were a lot of activities themed around the city’s history and culture. My favorite was a luxury cruise decked out with Pokemon decorations that you could board and battle other trainers. It was like a real life SS Anne from the first game. If the Pokémon World Championships came to your city, what kind of Pokemon themed activities would suit your city’s culture?

That's Mildly Raven

Does Microsoft not know how the human body functions? The Xbox 360. A classic concave design that, according to Microsoft, is supposed to represent an inhale. But when you inhale your body expands outwards because your lungs are filling with air. Did nobody at Microsoft ever pay attention to what happens when they breathe? So my question to the panel: what is that one thing that you KNOW is wrong, but nobody else seems to care about?

Adam Cohen

Hello MinnMax crew! We all have backlogs of games that we'd like to eventually get to. But how long do we have to ignore a game before we realize that we just don't want to play it? Maybe we want to have played it, but we just realize that there are other things we would like to do with our limited time on Earth. Like, I'm never going to actually go back and finish the first Pysconauts game, right? I'm probably never actually going to try Citizen Sleeper, no matter how good everyone says it is. I get that its a little different for people in the industry because you have to play the newest games, but how's your relationship with your backlogs?

Kevin Kuper

Resident Evil 4 Remake gave me an opportunity to play a game I don't think I would have played otherwise as the tank controls were too big of a barrier for me and now is my GotY so far! What's a game that you would want to be remade to make it more accessible for the next generation?

Hieronymus Josh

Which is the worst (maybe, best) drinking game? Anytime Hanson mentions Game Informer? Anytime Caravella accidentally calls it Giant Bomb? Anytime Giant Bomb talk wrestling? Or anytime any podcast ever says, “spoiler-alert.”

Devin B

When your power goes out for an extended period of time, what is your go to activity to keep yourself entertained?

Jaylyn brooks

What's your favorite emote of all time?

Ari

Have you ever been in trouble for playing a video game?

henrik mortensen

Hallo The job system. I am so very tired of the job system. It has now entered and poisoned many of my favorite gaming franchises with games like Fire Emblem: Engage, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and stopped me from fully entering games like FF Tactics and Final Fantasy X-2. It is in so many games now that I almost expect Mario to dress up as Peach in the next Mario game so he can learn the ability to float in the air with the dress. And I feel it always gets praise. People love it, while I feel it makes just a lot of mess and I lose control of the characters, the skills and I feel like I just press buttons while not really knowing what´s happening. So my question is: Are there any gameplay elements soaring across multiple games that you just don´t like? Hate your show!

MrButtons

Hey MinnMax crew! What’s the most progress you’ve lost in a game because you forgot to manually save? Yes this question is inspired by losing almost an hour of progress in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Conner Withey

Hey Minnmax, have a little "mini" game for you. Just finished up my Pikmin 4 playthrough. In case you don't know, treasure hunting is a big part of the game. The fun twist about that is each of these treasures is something that exists on Earth, something that would be tiny for us, dwarfs these characters. I'm going to include 10 examples of the game giving everyday objects weird names, see if you can guess the object based on the description. 1-5 will be food, 6-10 will be grab bag. *Mild spoilers if somebody doesn't want to be spoiled on some more unique treasures I guess. 1. Puzzle Snack - Pretzel 2. Mock Bottom - Peach 3. Slapstick Crescent - Banana 4. The Four Grill Brothers - A Kebab 5. Snack Bean - Peanut 6. Olfactory Sculpture - Candle 7. Personal Injury Plank - Skateboard 8. False Lollipop - Pacifier 9. Buddy Display - Picture of Dogs 10. Winged Freedom Sculpture - Wavebird (Hint-What console did Pikmin debut.)

Beau!

Hey everyone! After Final Fantasy 16 and now Baldur's Gate 3 massively upgrading the RPG, will the next Dragon Age feel outdated?

Pelicanman

Kyle (Bosman, that is), Have you missed hosting podcasts since leaving Easy Allies and what has it been like to get back in the saddle these last few weeks?

Cody Allison

Following last week's discussion on Venba. What is the tastiest looking video game food? Or which one would you most want to eat IRL For me, Everything cooked in monster hunter world was always so appealing

Bezlo

With the rumored PS5 revision hinting at a separate/removeable disc drive, do you see this as the potential last generation for disc-based media?

Malcolm Holliday

Hey MinnMax, we have 1st person and 3rd person video games but rarely(if ever) do we get 2nd person view video games. What genre do you think could take advantage of that, any existing series that could prosper with that shake up?

Leo’s Immersion

Aloha MinnMax. I’m sure everyone has heard about the recent wildfires in Hawai’i, particularly on Maui. We on island are donating clothing, food, water, toiletries, medicine and other supplies to those who’ve lost their homes and more, but the needs are frequently changing. The best resource is one a lot of us don’t have; money. If anyone would like to donate, a great source to donate to is the Maui Strong Fund. More info can be found at www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org. This community is full of heroes, and we need heroes right now. Just wanted to spread the word, I apologize if this was not the appropriate place to do it. Much Mahaloz

Spencer Jenson

Where do you think your balders gate character keeps all that junk? Because you can and might be carrying a trunk of junk literally! Alexa, tell Minnmax they're doing a great job.

MyNameIsDan

YOOOOO IT TAKES ME ABOUT AN HOUR TO LEVEL UP MY PARTY IN BG3 (I am okay with this). Do I have a problem? I continually flip between guides to see if I am making the right choices, but then ignore guides once I get exhausted as they all say different things and it's a lot to take in.

Justin Chen

In anticipation of Hanson’s return, what are your opinions on using “daddy” as an honorific?

Harrison Holt

Hey everyone, In anticipation of Starfield, lots of talk about Fallout 4 has been had around the internet, especially what people liked and did not like about the game, and what they thought might be brought forward to Starfield. To my surprise, a lot of people feel like Fallout 4 isn't an RPG at all. So... what makes an RPG an RPG? Cheers, Harrison

Paul Sanchez

Hi MinnMax what was the last game you were playing before switching to a new big game like baulders gate, diablo, or zelda? Do you see yourself returning to it anytime soon or is it in the backlog now? I tried to start again cyberpunk2077 on a current gen console this time and now i unexpectedly got sucked into baulders gate 3.
