As you probably know, October is going to be a great month for gaming. There are too many amazing options for which game we tackle next in our game club series called The Deepest Dive so we're leaving the choice up to you. And now, presented without commentary and in a randomized (seriously) order, please select which game you want to see us tackle next for The Deepest Dive.

Alan Wake 2 (PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S - Releasing October 27th)

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5 - Releasing October 20th)

Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Nintendo Switch - October 20th)

Feel free to make your case for a game in the comments below. The poll ends on the evening of Sunday, October 8th. Just a reminder for all of you fine folks at the $2 tier, you can unlock the podcast version of The Deepest Dive in the bonus podcast feed by supporting MinnMax at the $5 tier on Patreon. You also unlock an early and ad-free version of The MinnMax Show, our weekly bonus podcast Party Chat, all previous Deepest Dives (like Final Fantasy VII Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales), and a whole lot more. Let us know if you have any trouble hooking up that bonus podcast feed on your favorite podcast app. As always, everybody who supports MinnMax at any tier can submit comments for us to read during The Deepest Dive.

PS - We're aware that the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 releases on October 24th as well, we just ask that you Snake superfans wait until 2024...

Is that a tease for an MGS3 Delta Deepest Dive at the end there 👀

CANT BLINK

No Picross, what gives??

RynaGoGo

Vote for Mario for a bizarre and hard to talk about game! How do you talk about it besides saying, “Ugh, I like the water level” or “Elephant good”? I don’t know, but I want to hear the struggle. Mwahaha

Cory Peterson

I'm going to play all of these, but I think a discussion on Alan Wake 2 would be the most interesting.

MyNameIsDan

Giving the salute 🫡 to Spider-Man 2 as I watch it be lowered into its grave.

Eric Reitz

This is such a hard choice to make. I'm a Spider-Man super fan, absolutely loved the last two games, and have little doubt that 2 will be a great time, but... Remedy games are so weird. A Deepest Dive feels almost required for an experience like that. Alright, I need to quickly play through Alan Wake now.

Roberto Zayas

Personal ranking for Deepest Dive: Alan Wake 2, Spider Man (Men?) 2, Mario Wonder.

Dragonhunter

I think Alan Wake will make for the most interesting discussion.

Kevin Kuper

Voting for Alan Wake because it will be the most interesting discussion and I don't want to wait to play Spiderman. Mario would be a weird deepest dive but I would still be there

Bread

Alan Wake 2 Deepest Dive! Far and away will be the most interesting stuff to talk about.

The Sleepy MailMan

Why do I feel like last week’s podcast is heavily swaying the poll?

Sparky

As much as I'm going to play and probably love Spiderman 2, Alan Wake 2 may be the better choice. It's a remedy game which is known for doing weird and interesting stuff that people want to talk about. It's multi-platform which will get more people involved in the discussion. The only question being how well the game runs at launch.

Kraven Morcome

Shout out to the OG deepest diver, Thomas Zane. Let's go Alan Wake!

Connor

hanson 100% swayed the vote!!!!

Joshua Caleb

Look, it's October, you gotta do the spoopy game. Also Alan Wake 2 is just the superior discussion starter. I've been waiting for this game for over 10 years and I'm still mulling over the events in Alan Wake 1. Was it real life? Or just fantasy?

Heurou

A vote for Alan Wake 2 is more than just a vote for a video game. It is a vote for justice. Also Alan Wake 2 seems like it would easily be the most interestingly conversation for a deepest dive style thing.

Fear Rabbit Teeth

I remember them saying specifically in the podcast “Mario is the only Deepest Dive that makes sense. Life will be absurd otherwise.” It felt like a weird take to me but I just have to honor their wishes.

Corgyll

Spider-Man 2 just seems like more Spider-Man, which I'm full up on. Alan Wake is a meta-as-heck mystery game, and I have a hankering for that!

Dixie D

For Haley!

Duderado

I likely won't play it but I'm voting for Alan Wake 2 because I think it'll be the most interesting game with the most discussion points. Hearing Haley talk about it briefly last week makes me want to hear her talk about it for hours.

freeze

Others might have already commented this, but to avoid the "Splitting The Vote" allegations have you considered making this a two round poll? As in, put the top two results head to head for a second chance to vote?

VGTO

I'm more likely to play Spiderman 2 but it feels like it's going to be pretty straightforward plot wise so I'm just not sure how interesting a discussion it would be. Therefore my vote is for Alan Wake 2.

Lamb Dance

I care about Mario Wonder the most out of these games. but I don't really think there'll be enough to it to justify a Deepest Dive, just chatting about it on the podcast will be enough. So I guess I'll leave it to Alan Wake / Spider-Man fans to determine this poll.

MrButtons

Glad the community understands that it’s Alan Wake’s time to shine

Kert419

I am so proud of this community

Rory Cunningham

The Spider-Man games are fun but ultimately throwaway experiences, at least for me. Mario looks great, but Alan Wake 2 is the only real choice here

Jonathan Valdez

Haley’s segment talking about Alan wake 1 definitely convinced some people to vote for Alan wake 2. Good play Ben!

CptCobblePot

More than “8 votes” for Mario it seems. Can’t wait to see what wins! *Whispers “Alan Waaaaake 2”

Spencer

I think all three of these games would make great Deepest Dives. Discussing gameplay and design is at least as interesting to me as discussing story. That said, I’m going Alan Wake II. It would be too much of a shame not to discuss that game in depth.

Luca Alberti

If I had 2 votes I would spare one for Mario Wonder (sorry Janet) but Alan Wake 2 has long been my most anticipated game, it's time to give Remedy the spotlight!

Jacob Schumer

Finally signed up for the Patreon to add my vote for AW2

Jump On Everything

Just became a patron to help the cause and vote Alan wake 2

TheFenwickGhost

I may actually buy AW2 just because this is going to happen lol

Tye McWhorter

Very excited for Mario & Spider-Man. Alan Wake 2 will be SUCH an awesome deepest dive

Parmetheus

Let's dive into Alan Wake!

Justin Ray

I am going to play Spider Man 2 at launch and hold off on Alan Wake 2 until I can catch it on sale but I think it will be a more interesting deepest dive. So my vote goes to Alan Wake.

Ben with one N

I’m just here for the chaos 🍿🤏

Ampex

I'm glad this poll is on Patreon instead of Twitter. I think it would've looked very different otherwise.

Chris Davies

Let's be honest all three of these games will likely be great but I do think Alan Wake 2 makes for the most interesting deep dive. The journey of this series from delisted niche title to growing cult following to having a sequel funded and made is fascinating and all the coverage so far suggests this could well be a banger.

Michael

I'm voting for Alan Wake, but only if you promise to do a one off "Racing Dive" discussion of Mario Wonder for New Show Plus

Andrew Burnes

After last week's episode, I am already burned out on Alan Wake.

Spencer Botine

We’re making the right choice, patrons!!

Castor Troy

Alan Wake 2 looks very interesting.

Ethan Poe

Please keep this result going y'all

MechaPig

Here to throw in for my dear friend Alan. Alan wake 2 does seem like the wildest to talk about in depth and, selfishly, it's the one I've budgeted to buy this October so...

Used Fuzzbox

It's the choice that makes sense. Mario is an awkward fit, although I guess unique for a DD, and Spiderman, well, it's going to be much the same, but more x2, so let's go with the game that makes sense and that we are looking forward to the most :D

Gooseberry

Mario is screwing Spidey up

Henry Nguyen

Came to vote after Party Chat to seal the deal for Alan Wake 2. This game feels like it shouldn’t exist and we’re living in an alternate universe.

David Johnson

I actually thought the idea of really examining what an unrestrained team could do with 2D Mario sounded like a lot of fun. Looking forward to the podcast talk on it at least.

prettyhatemachine

I want to play AW2 as I loved Control, but I tried to play AW1 and it was just too hard for me, I couldn’t get through it. I hope 2 isn’t like that

Hayden Berthelot

Spiderman would be a perfect game for the format... but I want Alan Wake 2 too badly.

Collin Lambrecht

Have to go with Alan Wake 2, the story is a Remedy game is guaranteed to lead to interesting community discussion!
